Londinium - Unless Griff was vastly mistaken, there was some sort of ancient law that stated that whenever a large amount of nerds came into the same place at the same time, there would inevitably be some form of conflict. Yet, despite that rule, there was something about this city that seemed oddly peaceful. Sure, he had had to deal with a few instances of people being asses, but the only one that turned into actual conflict was that guy who had trashed a man's stall, and that had resolved itself quite cleanly in the end.
Now that he was walking around the city at large, he had to stop and admire the sheer amount of different armor types there were. Back when this was an actual game, it seemed that everyone after a certain level began wearing the exact same clothes, since they were the best specced. That meant that there was around twelve different outfits worn by high ranking players, with a few variations here and there. That had all changed when the game had become their entire world, it seemed.
Griff was hardly Gok Wan or Edna Mole, but even he could give stylistic choices about the people that were surrounding him. So many badass suits of armor, so many beautiful colors that worked together to give a sense of beauty and serenity, but then there were people like that guy who was currently diving around in the fountain. His clothes were so insanely garish, Griff's eyes were actually beginning to hurt just looking at this guy.
Still, he loved the happiness that he seemed to be granting to people. It was like back in the olden days when kings would employ a court jester to make a fool out of themselves to entertain others. Heck, maybe that was why he was wearing such stupid equipment, but whatever the case there was something about him that made him instinctively want to join him. Yet, the rumbling of his stomach made it absolutely clear that he had more important things to do right now than to join someone in making a fool out of themselves.
---
Slipping off the high street, Gwyl entered a small shop with a large sign over the entrance that said something akin to "Balthazar Bakery". To be completely frank, he found it nigh impossible to read as the owner had failed to scrub the moss off of it yet, but he was going off of what little bits of it were actually legible "Bal__az__ Ba__ry" To be completely frank, he doubted it was "Balbazino Barrrry"
The inside was nowhere near as delapidated as the outside. A series of tables set around the room, some filled with people from all eight of the races whilst others sat empty, gave a strangely homely feel to the place and the young girl standing behind the desk made it very clear that this place was exactly what he had expected it to be. Either that or she had a strange obsession with wearing a stereotypical chef hat for absolutely no reason other than it looked nice.
"Welcome to the Balthazar Bakery, one of the first five bakeries in the whole of Londinium to crack the cooking problem."
Ah yes, the cooking problem. You know, for someone who specialized in cooking, he had always found it weird that doing things through the menu didn't work like it did in the actual game. What was the point in the bloody thing if it just made things that looked good rather than tasted good? The day that they met the one that had created this world, he would have some harsh words for the man who had decided that was a good idea.
"Yes, hello, can I have... something with a lot of meat in it. and pastry." "I recommend the Crag Cow Pasty." "Oooh, lovely. I'll take four of those please."
---
Taking a seat outside, staring at the strange young man that was still amusing himself by jumping in and out of the fountain, now surrounded by some kids, Griff smiled contentedly. He had food, he had a good place to sit and enjoy the day, and he had everything that he wanted. He would be wanting for nothing for a good few hours, and though he would have to had back into the forest to train later, for now he was going to be able to enjoy himself.
The only thing he was missing, he thought absentmindedly, was good company.

It was as any day had started since Ame, the young foxtail Cleric had been thrown into the world of Elder Tale. She awoke with a yawn and a long stretch as she stepped her feet onto the ground. Her animals, like always, were still fast asleep and cuddled closely together. She gave the sleeping creatures a smile and very lightly, stepped across the floor of her bedroom. She opened the door quietly and padded out of the room, closing the door behind her. She looked around the living room for a second before wandering into the kitchen. She wondered what sort of goods she should make today. She wasn't even close to her grand opening, but that didn't mean that she would stop her progress of trying to make new things, no, it was the complete opposite. She wanted to make a lot of things! She had some competition further on in the town, a simple bakery and a sweet little cafe that she had visited once but because she had purchased her house pretty much right at the entrance to Londinium, people were sure to see her quaint little cafe right off the hop so she needed to make sure that they became repeat customers. Opening the door to her fridge, she began to do an inventory check. Eggs. Check. Milk. Check. Various Juices. Check. Other cold goods. Check. Once she had made sure her fridge was packed with all of her necessary goods, she made her way to the cupboard where she stored her dry goods. Cocoa powder. Check. Baking Powder. Check. Flour. Flour. FLOUR?! Her eyes widened at the sight. Had she forgotten to buy flour while she had been out shopping the day before?! " I was sure I had some.." She sighed and put her head down. " Looks like I'm going shopping again.." She smirk as she rose her head. It wasn't that she didn't like shopping, but she just couldn't wrap her mind around how she had missed it. She supposed that perhaps she should ask Lavinia to make her some paper to make lists, since she had recently changed her class to scribe. She shrugged lightly and made a mental note to send her a message later and then headed out the door. The town seemed to be bustling today more than it had in the last couple of days. There were people everywhere. It was a grand sight, especially if you thought back to the months and months back when she had just arrived. It had been complete and utter chaos! People screaming and crying and fighting everywhere.. It didn't take long for the fighting to calm down however, once everyone got a taste of the guards that popped up out of thin air. She had seen them once, from a distance and they scared her slightly. She wasn't one for fighting, so she had never gotten to see them up close, but even still, from afar, they were still a sight that caused fear in her. She shook her head and continued on. Soon, she came up on a beautiful fountain and she couldn't help but smile at the man who was hoping in and out of it, children laughing and following his lead around him. She giggled softly and was about to continue on, until her stomach growled. She sighed with a small smile and looked around her. She had many food items on hand, but when she was wandering about the towns, she liked to try the Lander's food from time to time. Since it had been found out that food could actually be made from scratch, without a menu, that it became as it had in her world, delicious! Plus, she liked to see what her competitors had to offer. She wasn't the competitive type, really, but it was still nice to know what was out there. She skimmed a small shop covered in mildew, but by the last word on the sign she had figured it to be a bakery. ' Looks like a good place to start.. though their upkeep doesn't seem to be the greatest.' She wandered into the shop and was greeted by a lovely young lady. She smiled widely at the girl and ordered a tea and told the girl to surprise her on the food item. She smiled politely and nodded her head as the sweet girl told her to have a seat and she would bring everything to her. Naturally, with the sun gazing down and the world nicely warmed, she chose a seat outside. The table she sat at was a lonely one, sitting across from another table with a man sitting there. Ame's eyes flicked up and she instantly noticed the class 'Warden' and the level 1 atop the adventurers head. A new adventurer. She stood from her lonesome table and made her way to his. Holding out her hand and giving him a smile, she said, " hi there. Mind if I have a seat at your table?" She was probably one of the more friendlier adventurers out there and she certainly wasn't shy. She had made many friends this way and always hoped for more. She waited for the man to accept, or decline her invitation. - Words -877- Tags -Gwylligi- Skills Used ----- Notes ---- Coded By Saber of L33T T3@M Modified by KittyGrey

This place seemed to be reasonably busy - despite how recently the discovery of how to make decent food had been discovered, people tended to find the other discoveries to be much more interesting. After all, who would choose to sit around and make pasties when you can be the first one to design a train, or the first one to forge a machine gun? As such, there were only a select few restaurants around the city of London, and even fewer good ones.
Even he was beginning to doubt just how useful this cooking subclass was going to be. He was able to buy rations from any of the stores that was easier than having to procure the ingredients himself and quicker than spending the time to cook them. Not only that, but he wanted to learn how to make his own weapons, he hated relying on anyone and having to go to PC blacksmiths was always something that annoyed him. It was like he wasn't good enough to make them himself.
Yet, despite its activity, he was actually managing to have a good few moments of peace. Other than the noise of the fool and the children splashing around in the nearby fountain, the majority of people were either inside shops or were off hunting and fighting mobs to level up, so there wasn't very much activity going on. He honestly didn't like the quietness of it. London was supposed to be bustling, just like it was on the main street.
Thankfully he didn't have to wait long to have that irritating silence cut off. The high pitched voice of someone standing before the table pitched in, asking him if he had an issue with her sitting with him. At once a warm, affirming smile spread across his face as he gestured for her to sit down at the seat opposite him.
"Not at all! It's not like any of my friends are planning on turning up, and I could always do with more company." As usual, his welsh accent shone through, making itself readily apparent as if the username that he had chosen to go under had not already made it so obvious.
Despite his class and his body's appearance, there was an unfortunate campness that his accent seemed to imply, which had often gotten laughs when he first used voice chat in this game.
---
Turning his attention to her proper, he noticed one thing before all else - she was one of those Fox-tail types. As he was a relatively new player, he didn't know a lot about them, but he remembered that they were supposedly a great class for casters and were pretty much a staple of the support-class and healer communities.
Checking to make sure that he hadn't incorrectly guessed her race, he noted just how high her level was above his own. A wolf-tail cleric as it turned out - apparently his mental note about her race was correct, she was definitely one of the healer classes. Her outfit seemed to support that, they were the usual almost priest like garb that clerics wore in this game.
Griff had a strange relationship with classes that entirely worked off of healing - He enjoyed helping his fellow man, but he could never really imagine sacrificing any ability to take care of yourself in combat to look after others. You have to take care of yourself first, don't you? That wasn't selfishness, that was common sense.
The next thing that he noticed, was that she was actually pretty cute for an animal girl. There had been a big craze a few years back for pseudo-humans, for characters in anime and games that had animal features yet were distinctly human. It had always smacked a little too close to beastiality for him, but looking at her he could definitely see why someone could aesthetically state that she was beautiful.
It was at this point that he realized he was staring, and suddenly wished he'd been able to keep those sunglasses that he had won in that event before this was turned into his actual life rather than a game. His gaze quickly flitted away from her, hoping that he hadn't embarrassed or insulted her with his attention.
"So, you're a cleric huh?" he said, attempting to bring in some form of conversation to avoid there being an awkward silence. "I can't imagine that's a lot of fun, stumble upon an animal in the wild and you're almost certainly fox-meat without someone there to protect you."

As she saw the affirmation in his face, she sat in the seat opposite of him. As he spoke, she smiled and nodded her head. "This world is filled with Landers and Adventurers alike but somehow, when you find yourself alone, it can get quite lonely, can't it?" Her face had a soft tone to it. She could hear an accent in his voice, but she wasn't too familiar with different accents, though she had gotten used to the American accent that had gone around. Most players couldn't tell because she spoke english so well, but Ame was actually born, raised and still resided in Japan. Somehow, though the Japanese servers hadn't been connected to the American ones, she had ended up on an American server. It was definitely confusing at first, especially when she had realized that she wasn't in a Japanese server but she couldn't understand how it had happen, it just had. Fate perhaps? She mentally shrugged her shoulders. She lived by the rule that "what happens is meant to happen."
As he spoke, she tilted her head. She found that most people thought like him. Clerics are only useful in a party, they can't do anything on their own. She smirked and let out a soft chuckle. "I suppose it would surprise you to know that I've solo'd many times before, even in my lowest levels. That's how I got to the level I am now. I don't need a party to survive, but I certainly do love being in them. I guess I take pride in being able to help others. Clerics are often posed as an inadequate class, only dealing in the healing of others. Perhaps in the original game that was the case, but it's a completely different concept in this one. In groups, yes, I heal, but I can also play as a front liner. I don't know, people don't think very highly of a cleric fighting, but that's why there's different types. I was never one to be a support cleric, someone who just stands in the back and only heals, no, I'm known as a battle cleric. I like the thrill of the fight I suppose." She gave a long laugh and looked at the man across from her.
He would probably think that she hadn't noticed him staring, though she had. It was something she was used to. Men and even women did it often. She knew what she looked like, so it was something she had come to expect. She couldn't lie, at first it had bothered her, but she learned to live with it. It was strange that in the real world she didn't get the stares she did here, even though her character was based to a tee on her normal looks, though she wore glasses, and had long bangs and often wore baggy clothes to hide her shape. Alright, so, she knew why the looks were different. She wasn't afraid here though, how could she be? She was almost level 90, the highest level you could go. She had heard rumors of quests that would grant up to level 100, though that's all they were so far as she could tell, was rumors. It didn't bother her though. She was happy that she had progressed this far already anyways and once she was at level 90 she would begin focusing on her chef level and her more recent housekeeping class. She knew that the housekeeping class wasn't much of a class, but she wanted it for her house, for her cafe and most importantly, her guild. She wanted to be like, the house mother. Cooking and cleaning for everyone so they didn't have to do such tasks and she knew that she was an excellent cook and her housekeeping skills were as well, due to her own self in the real world, plus, it had the added bonus of keeping the things she and her guild mates acquired for longer than anyone else that didn't have a housekeeper. She would make it work, as she did everything else.
Now that she had answered his question, she felt as though she didn't know about his class at all. She had fought with a Warden once, but he had been new to the game so he had no clue that he was supposed to be using certain weapons, guns. He had chosen a rapier as his weapon of choice and with her knowledge of the class and the fact that he didn't do very well, it had given him a serious disadvantage to his class choice. "What about the Warden class? I don't have much experience playing with others with the class. Is it true that you use guns and can make your own armor type? I've heard little about it, probably because it's so new to the game.." She leaned in to the table, waiting to hear his answer and wanting to know more about the class itself.
