» She couldn't stand that dizzyness. Heck, it was irritable! Something like that happening to someone like her was enought to make her nerves almost explode! The problem wasn't her surroundings, the seemingly sad people around her, not even the fact that she was inside the game's reality: what pissed off the small human was the feeling of inability. After falling at least twice, the monk successfully walked around ten steps, falling for a third time. With a incomprehensible grumbling and a grimace that couldn't be seen by anyone she stood up again in an awkward manner. The body in this world was - way - smaller than her real one. With what felt like a temporary balance she started to walk around the city and see how things were going; none of the usual problems that many would have at that time striked her. With the Monk's confidence reaching the skies, she clenched her right fist with a large and confident smile on her face.
- Ha! Easy! Now I'm ready to kick some bu--!! - however, she was counting on victory before she should. By tripping once again, Nanako fell after two awkward steps, slamming her face with full-force against the ground.
Not so far from her, a couple of adventurers kept on laughing about her situation. Seeing how they were making fun of her, an anger vein appeared on the right-most of her forehead; with her nerves exploding she tried to recklessly stay up to her feet once again, failing even more miserably than before, but this time, hitting her head in some old crates close to a shop set up by a lander, thanks to the sudden and clumsy way of getting up. She grumbled once again, clenching her teeth, the anger vein increasing in size once she caught the sight of the couple she had seen before; she knew why they were so close with those wide smiles on their faces. They were there to make fun of the monk. The rather bulky armored man sat on her back while laughing.
-Bwahaha! See? I told you, this one here can't even walk, Anina! - he said, making fun of Nanako, while using his index finger to point down towards the monk.
His company, a cleric, for the first moments tried not to laugh, but couldn't resist in the end. The urge to laugh came in, enraging Nanako even more that was tirelessly trying to free herself from the huge guardian atop of her.
- URUSAI! - a bad habit of her, that was. Whenever angry or heavily irritated, she'd just throw some japanase within english. -J-J-JUST YOU WAIT!! ONCE I REGAIN MY BALANCE I'LL KICK THAT BULKY ARMOR OF YOURS! - even though she said that, Nanako knew that fighting inside the city's wall wasn't something she wanted.
Knowing the rules of a fight was one the very first things a fighter should know, and she new most of the fundamental rules inside the game; those that many just skip by pressing the " I accept" button and so on. Despite that, no royal guard showed up, because in fact, there wasn't any intention in fighting there - but damn was that embarrassing. As time went by, some others kept joining the small group to laugh at the monk with anger steam coming out of her ears.

Aila was troubled. Not because of any discrepancies between her old body and new one. In fact, the change made her very elated. She loved her new long, chestnut hair, her thin waist and protruding chest. Yes, she was shorter than she used to be but surprisingly not by much. Overall, her new body was fantastic and she could not be happier.
No, she was troubled because of something else. Taking a last quick glance at her account information, specifically the amount of gold she possessed, she sighed at her finances, which could only be represented with the damning report: “Oh, dear”. Yes, she was poor, poorer than her now extensive list of clothing that she needed to buy entailed. After all, purchasing an entire wardrobe of the most chic dresses in town proved to be quite expensive. Currently, her attire consisted of the cloth robe armor that she started with, but such an outfit was rather drab, though comfortable. Thus was her dilemma as she strolled through the town in both deep thought and cheer.
After a few steps through the London streets, she came upon what seemed to be a small crowd collectively laughing at a young girl. A guardian was sitting on top of the girl, probably using his weight to pin her down.
“Oh my… what crude teasing…” She thought as she observed the scene with an apparent frown. The young girl seemed extremely frustrated, veins protruding and steam rising, at the banter of the crowd and looked like she was ready to massacre them all should the opportunity arise. Aila herself knew how harsh teasing could be, even if the culprits didn’t mean any harm, and resolved to step in.
“Excuse me, gentleman.” She closed in on the small crowd, coming from behind them so she would go unnoticed until she spoke up. The wind was blowing rather stubbornly, causing her hair to blow in the breeze, an unfamiliar situation to her.
“May I ask you sirs to please stop teasing the lady here? It is most unpleasant and it troubles me to see such a scene.” Aila spoke gently, addressing the ruffians with as much politeness as she could muster. Hopefully, the thugs would listen to the pleas of a passing by girl and break up their little party. Otherwise, she wasn’t sure what she could do since she couldn’t forcibly stop them, due to lack of strength as well as the no-fighting rule.
“Please, sirs. I would most appreciate it.” She pleaded one last time.

» No matter how much she struggled and waved her limbs, it was no use. The stubbornness of the girl caused the huge man chuckle, while the woman with chestnut hair approached, unnoticed. Her voice, with a different tone of most of the others' laughing caught the attention of the guardian, who raised one of his eyebrows.- "Excuse me, gentleman. May I ask you sirs to please stop teasing the lady here? It is most unpleasant and it troubles me to see such a scene.” - the girl had courage to ask such a thing. But the guardian could let it pass, thanks to the woman's beauty.- “Please, sirs. I would most appreciate it.” - The last plead was almost fatal. The urge of just letting the midget go for the sake of the druid in front of him was tremendously strong. He sighed, keeping his eyes closed for some seconds, scratching the back of his head, finally getting up and freeing the little monk.- There you go - He uttered amidst a sigh. - Take care to not hit your head in a stone next time, monk miniature. At least some people among us still has common sense right? - He stopped beside his partner, winking to the Druid. Both took their way out of there.Nanako stood still, her face red of rage. The urge of running against that man and kicking him so hard was almost unbearable. She wheezed and clenched her fists without saying a word to any of those nearby. The small crowd quickly started to dissipate, and in no time, everyone was gone. Slowly walking towards the Druid the Monk was much more calm and quiet. She stopped when close to the chestnut hair woman.- I'm sorry if I dragged you into this. - with a soft sigh and a bow, she continued - I would somehow free myself of that situation, but what you did really saved me a lot of trouble. Thank you. - however, she suddenly frowned. - But be careful when doing something like that! What if they were bad people? For her they were all bad, but not the worst. She knew that the world they're in now is totally different than before. The human society here was different than the one they were used to; as far as she knew of it, there wasn't anything equivalent to the police or the royal guard outside of those walls protecting Londinium, and they didn't even had any solid information about that world. The feeling of facing the unknown was something that Nanako didn't like, but at the same time felt like a challenge for her to overcome. And a challenge, she'd never pass. The monk took a good look at her own legs, moving both with caution, and it finally started to feel right, her balance coming back bit by bit. - Well! - with both of her hands on her hips - I'm Nanako, nice to meet you. I know this may sound sudden, but, wanna come with me? I was just taking a look around the city to know it a little better since I no one really knows until when we'll stay here... - she wiped her clothes of the dust. While looking to somewhere else to avoid eye contact, Nanako asked again a bit shy, all that was hard for her. She needed someone to trust and making friendships was crucial to live in this new world. - What do you say, wanna come? |

anyone's any was all to her After having addressed the crowd in the streets, Aila waited hopefully from a favourable reply. She held doubts about how easy persuading them would be, as her own rhetoric was far from convincing, at least to her, and wagered that it might take force to make the men back off. Not that she could supply said force.
So, it was with much elation that she received the Guardian, sitting on top of the young girl, considering her words before finally letting the girl go. Not knowing the effects her new body had on the decision, she deemed the guardian a more decent, logical fellow than she had originally surmised.
“There you go. Take care not to hit your head on a stone next time, monk miniature.” As the Guardian got off the girl and left, he gave Aila a quick wink, which she happily returned with a beaming smile.
After the crowd slowly dissipated, Aila turned to the victim of the situation, who had gotten up and was walking towards her. At a closer look, Aila observed that the girl was a Monk, probably of a similar level to herself, considering the quality of equipment.
“I'm sorry if I dragged you into this. I would somehow free myself of that situation, but what you did really saved me a lot of trouble. Thank you. But be careful when doing something like that! What if they were bad people?”
“Oh, no. It’s fine. It was nothing.” The Druid responded shaking her head. She felt a little embarrassed being thanked for just asking the crowd to stop but appreciated the Monk’s politeness either way. “Besides, I trust they wouldn’t do anything bad. At least not in the city.”
Thinking back, had anyone told the boys who teased her back in childhood to stop. Was there anyone like that? Perhaps, but she couldn’t remember.
While Aila reflected on her past, the girl seemed to move her body a bit, perhaps to calibrate it as she was unused to her new body. Either that or she was brushing off dirt that she had gathered when laying on the street. Eventually, the monk turned to the Druid again, with a rather refreshing sense of energy in her voice.
“Well! I'm Nanako, nice to meet you. I know this may sound sudden, but, wanna come with me? I was just taking a look around the city to know it a little better since no one really knows until when we'll stay here...” The young girl, Nanako, asked before turning away to avoid eye contact.
“Aww… could she be shy? How cute.” Aila thought to herself, only revealing a beaming smile on her face. She found Nanako quite adorable. With her small figure, explosive energy from earlier, but also her shy expression, she reminded Aila of an adorable kitten.
The offer itself was tempting as wandering the streets alone could be lonely. Especially now that she was stuck in this world, her list of acquaintances with which she could meet and talk to had dropped considerably. Meeting a new friend seemed an alluring offer which Aila just couldn’t refuse.
“What do you say, wanna come?”
“Yes, most happily. I would love to join you on a stroll through the cityscape.” She replied. “Oh yes, I should probably introduce myself while we’re at it. My name is Aila. I look forward to getting to know you, Miss Nanako.”

[attr="class","cscroll"] my eyes can see the death of everything even if that thing is god Walking around the Half Gaia version of London, Elfriede was curious about the layout of Londinium. The Half Gaia Project created a one eighth scale of the entire world, halving each dimension so the total area of Londinium should be one fourth of the actual London. The buildings weren’t scaled with the city however, so there were bound to be differences between the two. From what Elfriede could tell, the major landmarks and main roads were correctly placed, but many of the less common roads and back alleys were carefully omitted.
I doubt I will get lost, but it will be more difficult moving around with many of the shortcuts missing. Also, is there supposed to be this many People of the Land?
Another observation that those who played on other Elder Tale servers was that there are far more NPC’s, or People of the Land as they call themselves, than there were in those servers.
Is it something that is a part of the new server or something that is connected to why we are suddenly here? Or is it some other reason that is completely unrelated to either? There were definitely not this many NPC’s on the Japanese servers. Speaking which, are the other servers experiencing this issue as well? Or is it only just this new server? Was there something in the new Novasphere Pioneers Expansion that caused this or was it just coincidence? What about our bodies in the real world? Wait, can we even call it the real world? This world is just far too realistic and detailed to be virtual reality. There isn’t a computer in the world that can process this level of detail, let alone the common PC’s people use to play games on. Not to mention we were likely not wearing any VR devices. Argh! There are just to many questions and not enough questions!
“Uuuuuuuu…”
… That’s right my vocal cords actually work in this world. It feels strange being able to speak. Though given my lack of experience with actual speech, I don’t think I will be speaking anything too coherent anytime soon.
Opening her personal holographic menu that only she can see, Elfriede began looking through the various options and settings. Telepathy was active, and she already met with and added her two friends into her friend list. They decided to split up for now, to explore the new world on their own so there was no point in contacting them now. There was a Log Out button but it simply fails whenever she presses it. The remaining windows and tabs opened her inventory, which was empty at the moment, her stats and equipment—all low due to being a Level One character, and her skills which she only had a few of—again due to her being a level One character.
My current weapon is a scythe... My body knows how to use it, but it still feels rather impractical and unbalanced. Maybe I should try to find a new weapon?
A bit lost in thought and focused on her Holographic menu, Elfriede did not notice another short person—albeit still taller than her—and bumped into them.
“Uuuuuuu…”

» She filled her chest stuffing it's lungs with fresh air, followed by a heavy sigh. The answer from her new friend made her happy. She glanced over the right, the left, thinking about where to go and what to do now; it wasn't long before an idea came to mind! Nanako looked at Aila with a soft smile on her face.
- Maybe we should try to talk with some of these NPCS? I mean, we will need to hunt, level up, we all know that. It's the basics of a game... But since this doesn't feel like a game at all, why not explore what is different now? - she pointed at one of the lander shops nearby - there weren't so many of them in the other versions of the game, right? By the looks of it, there's way too many of them, and not only that... - There was a short pause - it feels like they're more than just NPCS. Look, look! Some players talk with them as if they were real! Well, theres only one way to find out! Let's take a look by ourselves!
However, little did she know that someone else was closer to her at that same moment. On her first step, a girl smaller than her bumped on Nanako; while she had enough balance to stand on her feet, something like a bump was enough break it if she lifted a single foot...
And that was her fifth encounter with the ground in less than an hour. Her face became red as the anger vein appeared once again in the monk's forehead. Trembling and full of anger the monk stood up in a slow pace, controlling her rage the most she could. With a heavy huff she looked back at the poor girl whom bumped onto her and all the anger was...
Gone. A long and straight hair, a stature lower than hers and what's best; she uttered some impossible to understand sound, which was the cutest thing ever! For Nanako, that is. While the urge of just jumping and glomp the petite assassin with all of her might was tempting, she straightened herself hard, in an act of self restrain. The force of the strain was great enough to clean all the dirt and sweep away the rage.
-U-uhm, sorry! - The monk bowed for a short moment - I should take more care and take care with where I step, hehe. - she scratched the back of her head, laughing in an embarassed way.
And then, the girl in front of both Aila and Nanako uttered the same sound once again. That popped Nanako's curiosity; the first time was fine, since it could be only a reaction to the bump. But twice? The monk glanced briefly at her, shifting her eyesight to Aila for a moment, returning it once again to the assassin.
- Uh... Is everything okay? I'd like to ask if you're lost, but I think we all are, so... Do you need any help?

anyone's any was all to her Aila was elated with her new acquaintance, a positively lovely girl from the looks of it. As her new companion looked around for something to do, Aila's mind wandered off to what activities she personally wanted to engage in, now that she had the opportunity.
"Hmm... Things I want to do... Well, first, I've always wanted to go shopping for clothes. Ah, but they probably don't have that many clothing stores here. Not to mention, all the clothing will probably be fantasy style or the fact I have no money... Okay, so shopping's off the list. That also ticks off stuffed animals and jewelry. What else..."
"Let's take a look by ourselves!"
While Aila was deep in thought, Nanako finished her observations and decision, to which the Druid had only half-listened to.
"Oh, y-yes. Definitely." She quickly responded, a bit distressed and embarrassed over having not paid attention to the Monk. She turned to Nanako hastily, just in time to see her bump into another girl.
"Uuuuu..." The other girl made a weird sound but was otherwise okay. Nanako though seemed to be having a very intimate relationship with the ground that day.
"A-are you okay!?" Aila rushed to Nanako's side to help up the fallen warrior.
The Monk didn't need any help though as she soon got back up from her feet. The other girl would though as Nanako rose with a burning wrath. Obviously frustrated by her constant affair with the London Streets, the misfortunate monk let out murderous intent that would scare off an Asura. Slightly frightened herself, Aila shielded her eyes from the carnage...
... That didn't happen.
"U-uhm, sorry!" The monk bowed for a short moment "I should take more care and take care with where I step, hehe."
Wait, what?
More confused than anything, Aila could only observe as the same girl who looked like she was ready to earn the subclass, Berserker, laugh, embarrassed for some reason or another. What could possibly have caused such a drastic change in attitude?
Really, Aila found herself intrigued by her new acquaintance. The other girl, an assassin perhaps, seemed interesting as well, with the cute sound she had emitted earlier.
"I think I'll just watch for a bit..." She thought had stood by to observe the other two.
