December 10th, 2018 – Britanny – London
It was a busy day in London. As usual masses of people were moving through the streets and crossings while breathing in the air contaminated with gases and polution from countless cars in the city. Only few parks seemed untouched by the hand of so called „civilization“. They looked like a small spot of life in the gigantic city of London. And the same time... It looked like if civilization decided to hold nature as a prisoner. Every single person in this giant organism called „civilization“ played for it’s own gain, their actions are based to fit their own selfish goals and desires. Even if it meant crushing life of someone else...
„This world... Is rotten...“
That’s the single thought that crossed the mind of young girl walking past the crossing right now. Her face was young and so was her body, wearing black skirt while the rest of her body was hidden in large red hoody. Her blonde hair tied into an ponytail looked somehow full of energy and life while her own look was dark and tired. When she escaped from the crowd it was revailed that she's wearing big, black, leather boots. Anyone would think that it’s footwear unfit of young british lady. Yet she liked it and she didn’t stop wearing them even when her father asked her to do so. They were part of her personality, part of herself. Forcing her to do something else was like if they tried to shatter her soul and personality.
„Why... Why do people like that exist?“
She thought when walking on the street towards the bus station. Walking past electronics shop where News were shown on a large expensive LCD. „Last night a man walked into bank on 52th avenue and killed five people including a...“ Man on the screen informed people around.
„They think that it’s natural to crush life of other living person... They kill and lie just for their own personal gain...“
Young girl entered the bus, sitting on the seat in the back. She looked out of the window on her way to the university, letting her thoughts flow through space and time. She wasn’t normal girl. The youngest person to finish her studies on Oxford university. Succesfully... However... What were were her thoughts about that? Why did she study so hard?
„It doesn’t matter how hard will I work... Always... Always there will be the wall created by THEM... THEY will always be there to ruin my work...“
She thought when she looked on the blues sky. The sky looked so clear... It didn’t matter where she was or who she was with. The sky was always one and the same, it’s the same sky she looked on when she was a child, it was the same sky which was above Britain in the middleages, which was above the ground since the times long ago, when the world was created. Yet even sky was scarred by claws of civilization, polution changing it slowly into a toxic cloud of death, metal dragons of industry – planes – flying through the sky to deliver their masters or their belongings to another place in the world.

„I always wanted to fight back... But I can’t... This world is a game with miliards of players, set on Insane difficulity, where other players focus on destroying your progress when you get too far. When you loose to much you’re crushed... When you’re too far above them they envy and crush you too... You can’t predict their action in this rotten world...“
When she reached the attrium in the university she nearly didn’t listen to words of the famous sociologist. She already knew what he was saying. Every single word. She had her own theories and thoughts, she didn’t need to hear those. In her mind she was already running through a different world. Through a world that was fair. World which wasn’t destroyed by men and machines. She put on her headphones and grabbed her phone, starting music she knew and she liked. „Elder tales theme song“. She liked it. The song was so calm and nice, she liked that kind of music. Always when she heared she thought of the world hidden behind it. Was it a ball? A castle? The world of the past? Was law and order there? She didn’t know that for sure.
„God... I pray... Let me escape this rotten world where I’m powerless... Let me get in a world similar to that one. Let me help others the way I truly desire... Let me be... Someone...“
She thought to herself when listening to that music. Her finger were tapping on the table in the rythm of music, of the calming theme of Elder Tales. Few other students looked on her in a bit of anoyed way. But they soon looked away. She was known as someone out of their reach. Set as an good example. Yet the bigger is inteligence and empathy, the bigger is the burden you must bear within this world. That’s why she wanted to escape. With a ring the talk ended and she standed up, pushing the headphones off her ears, resting on her shoulders around her neck.
„Finally, now I can return...“
She thought as she standed up and walked out of the attrium. „Yo.“ She heard behind her. She turned around to see her friend. A tall guy with brown hair dressed in black clothes grinned on her. „As carefree as ever, aren’t you?“ She chuckled as she saw him. „Hey, hey, that’s rude. How unfit of a lady.“ He laughed. „How are you doing today? Our university genius?“ He smiled on her as he asked her. „Hey, you’re the same. You were the second.“ She smiled on him. „Anyways, let’s go to our small meeting. I’m excited today. I just can’t wait to start.“ She grinned widely as she turned around, walking towards the university park. The tall guy in black walked besides her.

„Anyways, I’m fine otherwise, what about you Siegfried?“ She asked him with a smile. „Well, I’m doing fine too, just getting a good job seems a bit hard.“ He made a nervous smile. Soon they saw another, raven haired girl, wearing their school uniform, despite the fact that she looked older than most of the students here. „Hey old hag!“ The blonde girl in red hoode grinned cheerfully as she jumped on her from behind and hugged her. „Don’t call me old hag you living diaster! And stop touching me Mordred!“ Her eye twitched in rage as she tried to push the girl in red hoodie – Mordred – aside. Siegfried just nervously smiled as he saw those two fight. „Oh c’mon, we didn’t see you so long.“ Mordred chuckled as she stepped aside. „You should be positive today Claire, we finally got Elder Tales for everyone in our group. We’re just waiting for last two members and we will be ready.“ She grinned while trying to calm her down. „But anyways...“ She smirked slightly. „You sure can’t find a guy if you will stay angry like an old hag...“ She said with a wide grinn while tasing her.
Claire’s eye twitched again. „Youu... Well maybe I’m a bit older... But at least people see a woman when they look on me.“ She grinned widely then, crossing her arms „under“ her chast. Mordred just glared slightly on her womanly curves on her upper body. „Old Hag...“ She groaned while glaring on her while clenching her teeth. „Flatchest...“ Claire groaned and glared back in the same way. „Hey, hey you two... Just stop already...“ Siegfried sighed while looking on them helplessly, rubbing the back of his head with his left hand. „He’s right. If we’re going to realise that our teamwork will be important.“ A new voice added it’s opinion. It belonged to another, black haired, guy in school uniform. As he spoke he adjusted his glasses. „Oh, you’re here Gawain.“ Mordred smiled. „Thank’s for preparing the guidebook for us.“ She grinned widely and searched for something in the pocket of her hoodie, grabbing a small handbook. „Don’t ignore me!“ Claire shouted and then she sighed. „Well... I should calm down... Anyways... Hey guys...“ Claire said right after tiredly. „Oh, I’m the last one again?“ A small girl which joined the group meanwhile said. „Don’t worry Gareth, you’re just on time here.“ Mordred smiled on her and pet her brown hair. The girl smiled and nuzzled against her hand. „Well, let’s go to the central park then. We promised to create our character together, right?“ She grinned widely.

„A fair world... World which isn’t scarred with claws of „civilization“... That’s the world of Elder Tales...“
An hour later in Central Park london, friends just arrived and decided to stop here. „Alright! We’re here! Let’s create our characters now!“ Mordred shouted cheerfully as she turned around, walking backwards for a moment to grinn on everyone. „Alright, alright miss hyperactive... I know, I know...“ Claire sighed as she walked past her and sat on a bench. „C’mon... Don’t start another fight...“ Siegfried sighed as he walked past Mordred too and sat on another bench. „I weren’t starting a fight!“ Claire defended herself as she opened her bag, taking her notebook out of it. „W-Well... I think that we should start now...“ Gareth said nervously as she sat down on a bench besides Claire. „Hmpf...“ Was the only reply Claire had while Gareth smiled nervously. Last person in the group remained silent, sitting on the third bench as he opened his bag and took his notebook too. Mordred chuckled as she saw the group and sat on the free place besides Siegfried, opening her own bag as she sat here. „Did everyone decide on their classes and professions?“ Mordred asked simply as she took her notebook out of her bag. „I chose offensive type Guardian.“ She grinned widely and started her notebook. „Well, I chose basically the same.“ Smiled Siegfried as he started his own notebook too. „Guardian... Sword and shield...“ Claire muttered, waiting on others since her computer was started already. „W-Well... I chose cleric...“ Gareth said nervously as she was preparing her notebook. „I will be an Enchanter.“ Gawain declared as he was waiting on others. „Great.“ Mordred grinned widely as she watched them prepare. "Let’s start Elder Tales and create our character now!"
„Finally... Now I can finally step into that world...“
Mordred was smiling as she was preparing her character. While her right hand was sliding from side to side to tap on the touchpad and select something in the menu. Her other hand played with her hair, pushing a mischievous lock of her long, blonde hair behind her ear. The light breeze played with her hair the same way as it played with leaves and grass around her. „She looks like you.“ Gareth smiled as she looked over her shoulder. „Well... I want to be familiar with my own character...“ Mordred muttered with a light blush. „There isn’t any other reason...“ She finished. „Geez! It’s just an online game!“ Claire sighed as she looked on her. „Just finish your character already...“ She said in an anoyed way, putting her notebook aside before leaning back on the bench. „Well, we will see tomorrow how our characters turned out.“ Siegfried smiled on them as he closed his notebook. „Alright. It seems that everyone are finished.“ Mordred smiled, closing her own notebook. „Tomorrow on 5p.m. we will log into the game.“ She seemed happily when she said that. She was simply glad that they all managed to buy Elder Tales day before it even started. words: 507

„I wish that I could live in a world like that...“
December 11th, 2018 – somwhere in London (Mordred’s apartment)
It’s 5pm. Mordred is sitting on her chair before her computer, dressed in a red/white tracksuit. On the table behind her there is already food prepared for a long night full of gaming. She extended one hand towards the pizza and took one piece of it, biting into the delicious food and swallowing it. „Mhhm... I love the taste...“ She mumble to herself after swallowing it. „Well... Let’s look in this wonderfull world.“ She chuckled as she selected her character. „Mordred, level 1 Guardian. Subclasses Courtesan and Blacksmith. Location Londonium... The starting location of Elder Tales.“ She grinned widely while reading theese unnecesarry informations. „Well... Let’s start this!“ She grinned widely, took another bite of her pizza, not knowing that it’s the last food in real world that she tasted. Then she pressed enter. She was carefully watching the loading bar while listening to the calm music and then...
„What happned..? Where... I’m?“
She looked around her. Something was wrong... It wasn’t her room, or even her... world? Well... It looked similar... And it was London. But it wasn’t her London... The british metropolis looked overgrown and abandoned. Forgotten and loosing the test of time. In between of overgrown buildings there were some shops and few buildings were repaired in a similar way. „Is this... Londinium?“ She mumbled to herself as she looked on the azure sky above her. The sun smiled in her face, forcing her to raise one hand to protect her eyes. But what she saw wasn’t her hand... Or... It was her hand, but it didn’t look the way she was used to it. Her hand was covered in steel armor. „What the...“ She mumbled as she checked hertself. Her whole frame was wrapped in steel armor made of steel plates and something under it, looking like a... robe? She wasn’t sure how to call the thing made of red cloth under it. On her back there was a sheated Zweihander, large greatsword with german name. „Oh god... Is this...“
„Is this the world of Elder tales?“

She was completely sure that this is the world of Elder tales. „Alright... Stay calm Mordred...“ She muttered to herself, ignoring the depressed people appearing all over the city. „You need to figure out how this works...“ Mordred mumbled to herself as she looking around what is the place where she just appeared. „That is... The old Parliament building, isn’t it? That means that the main gate should be... That way... On the way I can find out more about this...“ She thought as she walked towards the area where should be the main gate of Londinium. „Hmm... Seems that there is somekind... Of Interface...“ She thought as she broswed through it. „Starter Zweihander... Starter Plate Armor...“ She mumbled to herself that as she broswed through the interface. „Hmm... Theese are my skills...“ She said as she looked on her abilities. „Alright... Let’s test theese...“ She mumbled and looked around again. By the time that she finished her HUD inspection she got to the city gate. It was refeshing to see the forests around London undestroyed and full of live. „It’s the... Windsor Greatwood now... Right?“ She mumbled to herself again. „Alright... Let’s get over with this.“ She grinned widely and walked off the road into the forrest. „So... Let’s look around... There should be monsters somwhere...“ She mumbled as she looked around, taking her <Starter Zweihander> in her hands. After a while she reached a small hill. As she stepped over a fallen branch, her right hand holding the <Starter Zweihander> with a firm grip as she rested the blade on her right shoulder. She saw few boars before her, their health bars and names with level tags popping up above them. „Young pittered boar... Levels... One... Three... Two... and four. Alright... That seems like a good training.“ She grinned widely.
„C’mon... It’s the same like historical fencing in real world... Just my hands feel a little numb... I will be alright. Completely...“
„Anchor Howl!“ Mordred shouted as she standed in the middle of boars. „This skill is kind of taunt to monsters and players. It’s kind of better than in other games because it’s even effective in PvP... They will usually attack the user since ignoring him would mean getting a heavy hit as a punishment.“ She was repeating everything she learnt from the guidebook earlier as she used the <Anchor Howl> skill. The boars immideatly looked on her and started to charge towards her. „The level four one is fastest. It will reach me first. Great, I like to defeat the strongest enemy first.“ She grinned as the biggest boar rushed towards her. „One... Two... Three...“ Mordred was counting in her mind, both her hands gripping the handle of her <Starter Zweihander> as she was waiting for the boar to reach her. She changed her stance to the stance of experienced fighter, ready to attack the boar as it will reach her.

„I feel so... Alive in this world...“
„Counter Break!“ She shouted, her body rushing towards the boar with an equal speed, swinging her heavy <Starter Zweihander> with enormous force of her arms and the movement momentum. „Counter Break. This skill gives me the chance to cancel a longer spell with my own kinetic energy and strength. Kinda unexpected to someone.“ She landed a heavy hit on the skull of the boar, the <Starter Zweihander> making its way through the head and skull of the boar, before letting it disappear, leaving the loot and experience behind. „That wasn’t so hard...“ Mordred thought as she turned around to face her next enemy. Two other boars glared on her after seeing the fall of their older comrade.
„It’s just like fighting in the real life... Just the skills cause my body to move on it’s own.“
She turned around to welcome them with bloody blade rised in a balandced battle stance. The world of Elder Tales. This world where she was now... She felt so alive. The lowest level boar rushed forwards towards her. With a skilled move she swung her sword again, stopping the charge and leaving an large cut on it’s snout. However the second pig meanwhile walked around her and charged her from behind, aiming to attack her legs. The blonde haired knight turned around too late, seeing that she wont be able to block the attack. She prepared herself for it, turning around and putting her right leg in the way. The boar hit it hard, however through the thick plate armor it didn’t inflict much damage and pain. Mordred rised her sword, reversing its sides, the edge pointing down. Then with a quick move she thursted it just in the neck of the boar which attacked her, piercing its spine easily. The third boar disappeared in the same way as the first one, only the second – smallest – boar was left behind. „Now, now, let’s look on you.“ She chuckled as she walked forwards towards the last boar, readying her blade to attack him. The boar charged towards her, knowing that he doesn’t stand a chance against the knight in armor. She knew it too. The last swing of her <Starter Zweihander> ended the life of that small boar. The edge of the sword was swung through the air, landing a clean hit on neck of the boar, beheading it instantly.
„It looks nearly as if this world was created for people like me... There... There I can finally do something!“
