A happy sigh fell from the lips of the fisherman. He was content, happy, and was enjoying the beautiful sunny day that it was. The air was calm but not so much that it was still. Even here, on the riverbed, in the center of a massive forest, Ryker could feel the light breeze on his cheeks and his arms. It soothed him, as if Mother Nature herself was caressing him with her loving fingertips. It felt so nice and the sheer amount of comfort he felt was nothing like he felt in the real world. However, he would not be bribed so easily! No. Ryker had a job, and Nature would not distract him! His pitiful excuse for a fishing rod extended out into the river which flowed just a few feet below the rock he sat on. Mother Nature was a beautiful woman, but she would not keep him from food! Oh no, he was a hungry man and he would eat! That was all there was to it!
But, it was a satisfying thing to note that Nature was calm today. Recently, she seemed quite upset about something. The air seemed to be off and the creatures in the area were not themselves. It wasn’t exactly a foreign sight, as it had occurred a few times before, but it was a rare. Unless something massive was passing through, or if there was some kind of bad omen plastered in the Cleric’s face, then Mother Nature generally didn’t care. She was a fierce foe who would not cave to such foolishness. Besides, Ryker had searched the area several times for things out of the ordinary. Instead of finding dead things scattered all over the place, he instead found himself discovering the location of a massive tortoise. It had to have been almost a hundred years old and its shell was huge! So huge in fact that Ryker was able to sit on top of it without an issue! And the tortoise even carried him a few paces before finally groaning and pretty much booting the white haired midget off.
After a bit of wandering though, Ryker found himself bored and simply clambered up onto the rock he now sat upon. He had been sitting there for a few hours now, just observing the world around him and relaxing. It was a nice day and he didn’t exactly plan to do much of anything. Rather than try to make anything or perform any kind of heavy lifting, he elected to just loiter in the forest. Thankfully, he hadn’t been attacked by anything. He had a crude weapon that he could have used but he didn’t exactly know how to use it, even after getting some help. Yes, the helpful Samurai whom had attempted to help him didn’t exactly do much, but it had taught Ryker a bit of what to do in the worst of situations. For now though, he stuck to his fishing rod. Speaking of fishing rod…
The line he had tossed into the water wiggled slightly and the pole was tugged on ever so slightly. Ryker raised his left eyebrow in question and let the fish tug, but he gently tugged back. Ever so slowly, the fisherman coerced the fish to come closer and closer to the surface with very gently tugs. Then, once he saw the upper fin of the tiny fish through the almost clear water, he yanked on his pole. The small minnow popped out of the water brilliantly and wiggled harshly on the end of Ryker’s line. The fisherman grinned wide, his lips stretching from one ear to the other as he drew in his catch. The fish was small and couldn’t exactly be called dinner, or anything close to a meal, but it was better than nothing.
The fish continued to wiggle even as Ryker detached it from the line. It flipped and flopped and slapped and splashed up until the moment Ryker dropped the little creature into the small bucket off to his left. Said bucket was full of water, and the fish took a deep breath of fresh air as it entered the familiar environment. Ryker chuckled lightly at the sight and hooked fresh bait onto his line. As he continued to chuckle, the fisherman cast his line back out into the river. It was a beautiful day out, one he doubted he would get to experience for a long, long time.

The sun rose high in the sky, it's rays shining brightly, but to Lillian, the human Bard, it left her skin with a glimmer of sweat as she crawled through the grass. It didn't help that she had spent her morning fighting the low leveled monsters in the Windsor Greatwoods and exhaustion was slowly taking her over. Her stomach growled at her and she did all that she could to pick herself up off of the ground and attempted to head into the town. She hadn't gotten the best sleep. Since she'd been thrown into this chaotic world, she hadn't slept much any night. She tossed and turned and had nightmares of her managers back home yelling at her for not showing up at her shows. Lillian was a star, but here, she was just a normal adventurer, like the rest of them. It upset her. It wasn't even because of the fame or the fortune, or even the fans, she loved to sing, she loved to dance and she loved to drown herself in her work. She was the type that wouldn't let people get close to her, not after what had happened to her poor, unstable mother. She let out a soft sigh and swallowed hard, her throat thick with paste. She needed water.
She looked at her surroundings. Had she headed in the wrong direction? Had she taken a wrong turn? She should have reached the town by now, but she hadn't. She opened her interface, pulling up her skill list. She could always use the [Call to Home] skill, but she had always refused. Her stubborn mind told her to fend for herself and never take the easy way out. She blew out a hot breath and closed the interface. That was when she heard it. The sound of running water. Her throat swelled with want and she took a step forward, and then another, and then another. She forced herself to remain on her feet, to keep listening and heading into the direction of the water. She was so thirsty. Thirsty and tired and hungry. Her stomach let out another low growl and forced her feet to move faster, pick themselves up and soon, she was running. The water was so close now, so so close to her.
As the river came into her eyesight, she smiled wickedly, not noticing the man sitting on the rock. It should have been easy to spot him. The white hair and the white clothes amongst a forest of green should have been a dead give away, but exhaustion had brought her to her limit and as she stripped her armor off, down to the starter under garments, a black bra and panties, she ran towards the water. Her pink hair flew through the wind she created through running and she jumped over the grass and dirt and made a SPLASH! into the water. It felt cool against her skin. She felt refreshed and she drank in the water, still underneath it. As she came up, she let out a relaxed sigh and smiled wide, a smile that no living human had ever seen. It was a smile of actual, pure happiness. Lillian was a fake. The smile she normally gave was nothing like the one she bore now. No, she hid this true smile and acted cruel to hide from society, within society. It was easier than showing them her true self. It was easier to fake being like them than it was t actually be them.
She swan to the shore, her mind in a happy bliss and crawled to the grass, laying back down, her arms and legs spread out like a star. She let out a cool laugh and a happy sigh. "Ahh, I feel refreshed!" She laughed again and as if her mind had finally awoken, she felt her eyes slowly peer to her left. Sitting there, was the white haired, white cloaked man. She shifted her stunning blue eyes down to her near naked body and then back up to the man, boy? He seemed short, was it just the way he was sitting? Her eyes filled with fear and her mouth dropped as she sat up quickly. She let out a long, loud scream and raced to her clothes, forcing them on her body. She looked back to him, her face a bright pink, her eyes terrified and angry. "Wha- What did you see?!" She pointed to him and shrieked.

“I’m going to grow old, and it’ll be days like these that I will remember the most…” Ryker chuckled as he enjoyed his silent, calm day. The fish were plentiful and he was plucking the little things out of the water with ease. He had stocked up on bait and his bucket was a bit larger than the one he had started with, but he would eventually run out of one of them if he simply kept fishing. The Fisherman had enough bait to last him for a few more hours and his bucket was large enough to catch maybe another thirty little fishes, if he didn’t want to crowd it that was. Then again, he was only one man. He had already caught sixteen of the little creatures and they swirled around boredly in the small object. Sixteen was enough to feed Ryker for almost four days if he paced his eating, maybe two if he was greedy.
Though, that number never exactly mattered to him. Ryker was always fishing and always spent his time by the water. If he was hungry, he could very easily snatch up a couple little ones to sooth his rumbling tummy. Because of that ability, Ryker was steadily working on both his Woodcrafting class as well as his Chef class. In the morning, Ryker used his Woodcrafting subclass to prepare his gear for the day. During said day, he used the Chef class to keep his belly full and also to make enough food to sell off to fund his constant class switching. It was a bit costly to switch on an almost daily basis, but he was also steadily making better rods of higher quality. That was mainly because of him letting his adventurous side out a little. Rather than just stick to the Thames river, Ryker expanded his horizons and the brave little Fisherman ventured out into the forests for better wood. It seemed that the forests to the North had much better wood in them for rods than those to the East and South. The West was just a waste of his time in general, unless he wanted to get to the ocean. But, for now, Thames proved to be more than enough for Ryker’s fishing needs.
There was a lot of fish in the river and if he was feeling courageous or bold, he could follow the river out to the ocean where even larger fish lived. Unlike in the real world, the river here was lively and never ceased to amaze the Fisherman. He loved his fish and enjoyed his lifestyle, but he was really used to having to travel much further in reality. In this virtual world, he could fish in almost every water hole that there was and could get a decent catch. It was so weird, but he wouldn’t complain, especially not now as there was already another bite on his rod. Ryker rumbled lightly and his eyes narrowed. He gave his rod a few light tugs, coercing the fish to come closer to the surface. He waited, nudged, and slowly wheeled in the little critter until it gave the top of the water a single flop. Then, Ryker yanked and popped the fish from the water. It popped free and wiggled in the air a few times before Ryker snatched it. He swiftly pulled his hook out of the fish’s mouth, fed it the remainder of the bait, and then dropped the fish into the bucket.
“Seventeen! That’ll do for now.” Ryker smiled happily to himself and leaned over to his left, helping himself as he lowered his rod down against the rock he sat on. He nestled the tool down between a few others at the base of the larger one, creating a sort of holster for it. Once he was sure it wouldn’t flop over or drop into the water (leaving him without a tool and quite upset), Ryker sat back up and uncrossed his legs. He started to kick his feet and took in a deep breath of the fresh air around him… Oh it was beautiful today…
SPLASH! Ryker’s ears twitched and the fisherman instinctively looked over to his right; pink.
“Oh no.” Ryker’s lips pulled tight as he realized that his day was about to get noisy. Someone had just invaded his personal, private zen and a sixth sense told him to move. He didn’t want to be bothered today, as that was the point of him coming to such a dormant and “boring” spot. The Fisherman didn’t expect anyone to actually come all the way the hell out to where he was. So what the friggin’ hell? Just beneath the clear, blue river water, he could see a white body, black lining, and a bush of pink hair. Shit. No. NO! NODAMMIT!
“Oh dear god.” Ryker’s eyes shifted right and his lips pulled even tighter. There were clothes! CLOTHES! ON THE SIDE OF THE RIVER! A knot appeared in Ryker’s throat. He glanced back at the body in the water. He looked back at the clothes and the armor. He looked back at the body.
“Nooo…” The figure began to surface.
“No no nooo…” It was getting bigger… and it started to break the surface.
“NO! NO! NO!” Out from beneath the crystal blue veil, which had been protecting Ryker from the ruining of his quiet and peaceful day, came a pink-haired, busty, beautiful woman. His chest tightened and he swallowed the knot in his throat. It was over now. All over. She was smiling, happy, and didn’t even seem to notice the white haired man sitting there, staring at her in all of her nearly-naked glory. Ryker turned his head away and closed his eyes. A light sigh escaped his lips and he simply sat there. Well, as long as she didn’t bother him, he wouldn’t bother her. She hadn’t seen him yet, so hopefully playing it off as if he hadn’t exactly stared at her would save him some turmoil.
Thus, the Fisherman sat there. Quiet as a mouse, he listened to the pinkette swim to shore and diverted his attention to the fish swimming beneath the clear blue surface. This may have been a good time to leave, but if he remained still and quiet, maybe… just maybe… she wouldn’t see hi---
-Insert Yell here-
“And here we go…” Ryker sighed and closed his eyes. There was shuffling, scampering, clambering, and then silence for only a second before he was rudely addressed and questioned. Well, that was kind of expected. He had just peered at her innocence without her knowing. But she didn’t know that, did she? But how could he get out of this? Was there a way? No, this was probably one of those trick situations. It was as if the woman had just asked him if she looked fat in her dress. No, you don’t look fat and no, your butt does not look big. It’s big enough dammit so can we just go now?
“I wish I could just go!” Ryker rumbled in his mind as he looked over at the pink haired woman. Well, at least she was dressed now. He felt a little more comfortable with that than he did when she was in her black underwear… even though he wouldn’t mind her stripping back down again because damn that was a beautiful sight.
“What? Why are you yelling at me? I didn’t do anything.” Ryker rattled off and turned his head away from the pink haired lady. No, he didn’t do anything, but he had seen enough. Sweet lord he was going to be maimed probably.
“I’m just sitting here staring at nature… in all of her glory… I saw fish… black fish... white fish… pink fish… Why, what’s it to you?” Ryker turned his gaze back to the woman and narrowed his eyes lazily.
“Please dear lord let her be an airhead.”

Lillian really couldn't catch a break. In this world, she tried to remain neutral. She thought that, maybe, she wasn't as noticeable as she had been in the real world, but already, men flocked to her. She let out a quiet sigh as she clothed herself but as the man spoke, she narrowed her eyes at him. Didn't do anything, hey? Perhaps not, but it wasn't like her to shake off someone seeing her in her undergarments. She had practically been naked! And if he saw.. if he saw her body. She felt the pink shade her cheeks and she fisted her hands. No, she wasn't some sort of idiot, she knew he saw, though she also knew he would deny it and as he spoke again, she let the pink flush escape her pale skin and she narrowed her eyes once again.
Lillian just bore her eyes into the face of the man as he looked to her. Did he take her for a fool? She felt her teeth clench as she grabbed onto her hair and rung it of the water that had soaked it. It poured out over the grass and when she was finished, she shifted her body to her knees and pushed herself up. "You must think I'm a damned fool.." She looked to the spot where she had jumped into the water and looked at the spot where he sat. Even if he didn't see her directly, his peripheral vision would have spotted her jumping in and unless he was into the same sex as himself, any straight man would have looked right at her. Any straight man would have watched her as she exited, seeing her curves first hand and nearly uncovered. At that moment, she was so happy with the preset undergarments that they allowed each character, because without those, she would have stripped completely. She equipped her trident and shuffled towards him, grinding her teeth. "A pink fish?! Show me this pink fish or tell me them truth and I won't pummel your cleric ass!"
She didn't have any time for this, not that she had been doing anything other than trying to grind up levels. Suddenly, she was overly tired and starving and her stomach growled to let the man know that as well. She saw the bucket before, saw the fishing rod beside him. She knew he had fish, knew he had food, and she wanted some but now, now she couldn't even ask him. Perhaps she could threaten him for it. Ugh, she hated her blasted stomach, hated this blasted body for always being so worn out. She always pushed herself to her limits, pushed herself to the point of exhaustion, and because her level was still so low, it hit her harder than she figured being a higher level would. Another sigh escaped her, this one loud and annoyed. She put her trident back into it's place and soften her gaze on the man. "I'll tell you what, cook me some of your fish and we can call it even.. I'm too tired to fight you.." She sat back down on the ground and crossed her legs, posting her elbows on her knees and holding her tired face in her hands.
She didn't know why, but the way she turned down a fight that she had wanted to start made her think of her first day here, that guy. She didn't know why he kept popping in her head. Was she afraid of him? No, she wasn't even though he was a definite lunatic. His blue eyes flashed into her memory, his cold, exotic glare. He had rooted for her to drag that other cleric, another annoying creature, to the wilds and kill him.. She wondered what would have happened if she had.. Really, she already knew the answer. He would have killed her. She would have had to fight him for her life and because of his class, she would have lost. She would have died. The thought, for some reason made her smirk. She hadn't seen him since then, not that she really wanted to.. Then again, he kept popping into her head, so perhaps she did.. She widened her eyes and swallowed hard and then remembered the man in front of her. Well, she didn't know what he would think of her creepy gazes in the distance, not that she really cared. She raised her eyebrow to him, waiting to hear whether he would take her up on her offer or not, the image of those blue eyes still glued to her mind.

Ryker had never been slick with his words, and as he looked back at the pink haired woman he realized that this trait of his had not changed. Not one bit; she was pissed. She glared at him, narrowing her eyes in a more meaningful manner than he had done with his own. At the sight, Ryker’s eyes opened back up and his lips pulls into a flat line. He let out a huff and leaned back into his seat, watching as she wrung out her hair and then stood. Her yelling didn’t help and the white haired fisherman simply let out a sigh. She was angry and there wasn’t exactly much to change that now. Rather than continue a staring contest with her, Ryker closed his eyes for a moment and took in a breath. He relaxed, let his muscles loosen themselves, and then shifted himself into a more comfortable sitting position so that he wouldn’t have to crane his neck to look at the woman. When he reopened his eyes, he saw the female equip her weapon. Surprisingly enough, it was a trident, another sea weapon.
“Well then.” Ryker raised an eyebrow and nestled into his stone seat as she walked over to him, pretty much doing all of the work for his lazy self. He glanced over towards the water for a moment as she yelled at him and then wiggled his nose before looking back at her. Yea, there was no pink fish in there. There probably wasn’t a pink fish for six hundred miles in every direction. She was the pink fish, and damn she was a beautiful pink fish. If only he had a big enough fishing pole and good enough bait to snag her on his line… That would have been fantastic. But, that was just his imagination. As she yelled at him and took a stance just a few paces away from him, Ryker let out another sigh; he felt like he was being nagged by his sister.
“Do this… Do that… Why don’t you try living with someone else for a change? Why do you still live alone? Have you considered settling down? Why not try to make more money?” Because Ryker liked his peace and quiet…
But then, admist all of the yelling, Ryker picked out a single noise; a rumble. It was loud and familiar, but it was short and quiet enough that he almost missed it. He shifted his gaze back up to the pink-haired woman and then down to her stomach. Her next words confirmed his question; she was hungry, much like he was. Though, her bargain seemed a little one sided. If he fed her, she wouldn’t kill him. Not to say that she wouldn’t anyways but that didn’t really matter to Ryker. Unless she liked to swim, she probably wouldn’t be able to catch him as he would just dive into the water if attacked. Yet hopefully things wouldn’t go to that. Ryker was hungry as well and he wasn’t going to leave two hours’ worth of fishing behind because of a woman who wanted her own peace and quiet time.
“You could have just asked if you were hungry.” Ryker smiled at the woman and then pushed himself carefully back up to his feet. He let out a soft yawn, stretched, and then opened up his menu. His fingers tabbed swiftly to the class change section and he switched himself from a Woodcrafter to a Chef, paying the fee while he did it. Then, he grabbed his bucket and fishing rod before slipping down off his rock and onto the grass beside the woman.
“And also…” Ryker cast his fishing pole into his inventory before looking down at the woman beside him. He smiled brightly at her, she was just as pretty up close as she was at a distance.
“…It’s not good to bargain when your enemy has all of the cards.” The fisherman let out a chuckle before making his way around the woman to a bit more open space. There, he used his inventory to summon forth a small fire in the middle of the field. Rather than waste time with his own handwork, the fisherman elected to push for lunch as he now had a guest. Once the flame was set, he set himself down on one side of it and pulled off his jacket so he could work with his arms a little better.
“What brings you out here, miss? There’s not much out here aside from higher leveled monsters and fools like myself.” The fisherman didn’t look up as he spoke, as he focused on cooking. His fingers worked nimbly to snatch the fish up individually from the bucket.
Each fish was snagged and stabbed through the top of the head to kill it quick. Ryker then swiftly deboned the fish by cutting their spines open and pulling the skeletons out in one quick yank. He popped out their eyes, emptied their intestines, and finished prepping them by shoving a stick through them. At first, Ryker only prepped five and left the rest in his bucket. There would be two for him, and three for his starving guest. To ensure the fish would be properly cooked, Ryker stuck them close into the ground and had the fish leaned directly over the flames. There, they would cook quickly and steadily. He would have to roll them over once though, but that was better than twirling each fish for about ten minutes.
