No idea where to get water? Ugh. Sergej sighed and placed the pots on the ground to either side of him. He began to think, placing a single thumb on his chin when the woman he was with mentioned asking someone and grabbed a random man. This new man showed slight hostility towards the two adventurers, but Sergej noticed he calmed down when he realized it was just for questions. He called us adventurers, is that what we technically are? Interesting. Sergej thought when the red-head asked her question. Clean water? Wasn’t there a river cutting right through town? Rivers tended to be rather fresh, especially when there was little to no pollution. That thought had to wait as the random man began talking, mentioning a man that had been selling fresh water in the city that he pulled from his well.
“Perfect! Where is man!” Sergej blurted right before Evenever grabbed for his arm. He didn’t even try to stop her, it would have been hilarious if she tried pulling him places anyways. However, they stopped after the man mentioned something extremely tragic. The man had been killed by what he referred to as ‘adventurers.’ Normally, Sergej would be openly distraught by the sound of death, but a pretty woman caused him to aim to be as emotionally stable as possible. Turning as Evenever did to look at the man, he saw nothing; the man had gone as soon as he appeared.
“Tragic. People die, he will be mourned by friends.” Sergej pulled his arm from Evenever’s grasp, then picked up both of the pots. “Sergej have idea. River good source for water, shy girl will boil.” He smiled, placing one pot on his shoulder, and the other being held in one hand at his side. “Does strange woman have name?” Sergej meant no harm referring to her as ‘strange woman.’ It just seemed appropriate due to the sheer amount of tattoos she seemed to have.

Notes: Sorry for taking a bit long to post. I take it that the abandoned stall Nutella used was previously owned by the lander that was killed. | | Some minutes passed quickly. Nutella finished slicing the boar sausage and sighed. Everything was going smoothly and according to plan; she even found some helpful people to lend her a hand, because despite her skill, help is always appreciated; Nutella didn’t want to feel like she was in a kitchen hell, at least not again.
However, something that the chef couldn’t describe or point exactly made her feel uneasy. Now that she could take a good look at the line waiting for the food, the brown-haired girl realized that many landers were shooting quick glances all over the place. Most of those stares came from landers, since adventurers and landers interested in the food were in line. The cleric felt that something was off, not right, weird; but she couldn’t tell or point out exactly what was it. With a soft shrug, she turned, only to be startled from the sudden inclusion of someone else in the stall.
- U-Uhm… - surprised, she had to think for a short moment on what to say – Uh, Hello! – Really, think of something else, Camilla! – Can I help you with anything, miss?
A chill went down her spine. Nutella turned abruptly as if trying to catch something on the go but there was nothing but a bunch of people staring or glancing over the stall. She couldn’t shake off that feeling that something just felt wrong. Could it be that she was using a stall that was actually used by someone else? The initial state in which Nutella found it totally declined that possibility, but the chef started to doubt herself and her choice. The priest then realized that she ignored the blonde woman, turning back almost instantly, her expression of uneasiness clear on her face.
- Oh, sorry! I’m a bit worried about something.
“It feels like someone or something doesn’t want us here. The air feels heavy.” Nutella honestly couldn’t know if someone else felt the same way as her. Trying to ignore that feeling, she smiled once again tilting her head to look at Kadence. The smile on Nutella's lips enlarged after seeing the bard's concentration on the task. Her eyes returned to Samantha.
- It looks like you’re good friends with Kadence. I’m Nutella – As much as she wanted, Camilla wouldn’t tell her true name to someone so easily – Sorry for being a bit rude for not noticing you were here until now. I’d advise you to wait here for a bit. We’re almost done cooking, so you won’t want to miss this chance!
She turned once again to the counter, taking a look in the pan's content. The stew had a satisfying aroma. Nutella then remembered of the rice. Noticing that kadence had already removed the pan's lid, she then proceeded with the instructions.
- Kadence, now use the long fork you used before and stab the rice. Check if there is water in the bottom of the pan. If there is none, bring it to the counter and we're ready to serve! |

Kadence was pleased Nutella had come over, and didn't seem upset about Samantha being here. That being said, she did look a little upset over something. "Oh, sorry!" the cleric apologized after she'd turned away for a moment. "I’m a bit worried about something." Kadence watched as the cleric introduced herself, wondering what had been bothering her... when suddenly she felt a weird pressure. She glanced over to the crowd that had gathered, and while there was some tension over there between the adventurers and the landers, she didn't think it was the source. Whatever it was, she'd been too distracted by her concentration on the rice and the arrival of Samantha to notice until now. What was up with that? It feels like something wants us to leave... she thought to herself but Nutella doesn't seem like the kind of person who would forcefully take this stall over...The bard snapped herself back into reality as Nutella addressed her again. "Kadence, now use the long fork you used before and stab the rice. Check if there is water in the bottom of the pan. If there is none, bring it to the counter and we're ready to serve!" Picking up the long fork, Kadence jabbed the tip into the rice, pushing it to one side. The bottom was water-free! With a heave-ho, Kadence struggled to lift the large pot, but managed to carry it over to the counter. Adventurers and Landers alike gave a cheer as finally, they were ready to begin serving! Scribe subclass? Samantha read. Oh, that's right. I picked those, too. What did I pick? Being ambidextrous? Something like that. Samantha wanted to vocalize her questions about this world and her skills, but she realized that writing took longer than speaking and decided to let her friend finish 'speaking' before butting in. She chuckles when Kadence writes something about Nutella selling food. That name cracks me up every time. Samantha realizes she should probably vocalize why she is laughing at the poor girl, but before she can, her writing suddenly becomes completely illegible. Kadence suddenly wipes the scribbled mess clean, discovering that she had been writing without thinking. Samantha laughs and suddenly finds herself being pulled by Kadence in the direction of Nutella. Nutella greets her with some uneasy stuttering and a hello before asking is there is anything she can help with. Ordinarily, Samantha would take her words to mean 'get out of my stall', but this timid little creature surely couldn't mean that, right? I can try to break the ice and say something really smart or helpful and maybe she'll let me stay or maybe even let me be her taste-tester. "Oh, hi, I'm Samantha, though I'm sure you can see that from the little box everyone has on their head." Samantha looks directly up in the air. "Though, I have yet to see mine, so I don't know if I have one, too. Anyway," she adds, looking back at the distracted Nutella. Here's my chance, just need to find a way to get her to let me taste her potatoes. "I'm your new official potato taster." Sheep! That wasn't what I was supposed to say! Why do you always say the first thing that pops into our head? Quick, clean it up, she doesn't look mad yet. Samantha lets out an uncomfortable laugh. "Just-just kidding. I'm not even hungry. I'm just here to say hi to Kan-Kadence." Idiot! Why did you just make it so much worse!? "Oh, sorry, I'm a bit worried about something." Nutella replies. She.... she didn't hear a word I just said. "Oh, no problem!" Samantha says, smiling. "I'm just here to say hi to Kadence." She laughs uncomfortably again. Nutella then introduced herself-something that seemed redundant to Samantha, with all the boxes saying your name over everyone's head. Habit, I guess. "We're almost done cooking, so you don't want to miss this chance." Nutella said. "Great." Samantha said, trying to sound enthusiastic. "Wait, chance at what?" She asked Kadence as she passed carrying a large pot. "I mean, it smells good, but is this food special or something?"
Wordz:437 Notes:Samantha has not yet eaten anything which would have been affected by the nasty taste associated with the land's food. She doesn't get the hype, much like how the writer of this post doesn't get why food still excites people by season 2 of the show.

Evenever was saddened by the news of the man who was murdered. But really, there wasn't really anything they could do about it. Suppose they could go on a grand journey for vengeance, but all they'd be doing is player killing. Since this is a game, do players respawn or not? She actually knew very little about how this world worked. All she knew was that the food sucked and her headache was never ending. " Well, we need water for both cooking and Ms Cook wanted to make juice. Hot peach juice doesn't quite sound appetising. It would be great if we could distil it somehow. Ahh, my brother used to do that kind of stuff all the time, I never thought I would have needed to pay attention to his survivalist obsession crap." Evenever's gaze turned to the pots. Where did she get what water she had to begin with? Did she buy it all yesterday? That wouldn't make sense though, why would she walk around with two large pots of water all day yesterday... " She must have bought the water from a different vendor, not the one the disappearing guy mentioned. We should go back and ask her where she got the water. It would save a lot of time. We should get this stuff back there anyway. Here, I think there's enough room in the cart here for the pots." She said, taking one from the man and carefully placing it near the front of the cart she had bought, or was is rental? She could just take it back to the person she bought it from for some extra cash back or something. That didn't matter now, though. She took the other one and placed it opposite of the other pot in the front of the cart. " Oh, that's right, we haven't introduced ourselves yet. Well, Sergej, in this world I guess my name is Evenever. Sorcerer and Scribe. I don't think I'm human anymore either. I guess my race is Ritual or something like that. Got me some neat tattoos." She rolled up the sleeve on her right arm a bit to show some of the lines and symbols on her arm. There was more on her legs, too. She hadn't seen what her face looked like yet to know if there are tattoos on her face at all, but from what she remembered about the creation screen, there were a few facial tattoos as well. Then what he said about her finally registered in her head. She turned her head up to his with an annoyed look, " Heeey, what do you mean by 'strange woman'? How am I strange?" " So what about you, Sergej? What are you supposed to be? A giant race?" Turned around and heading back now, she pulled the cart while walking beside Sergej. How he got mixed up in helping Ms Cook, she didn't know. Frankly, it didn't matter right now. They were heading back to the stand without the product that he was sent after her to get. Hopefully Ms Cook remembered where she got the water she was using before so they could go get more easily. Still a shame someone outright killed a vendor just trying to supply the city with water. Where did that guy that told her about the vendor's death go anyway? He was there one moment and he had just up and vanished. The stall that Ms Cook had commandeered for her cooking endeavours still had a neat line formed in front of it. With cart in tow, Evenever pulled the new ingredients behind the stall and began to unload. First with the peaches. A bushel of peaches in a wooden basket. " Heey, Ms Cook, how's peach juice sound? Got these for a good price and I figured they would be easy to juice." She looked around for a place to set the basket down or for someone to take them off her hands. Still in the cart behind her were two sacks of carrots and three sacks of potatoes and two empty water pots. And Sergej was behind her too, at least she thought he was still there. Her attention was on the stall occupants, not what was behind her. Nutella, Kadence, Sergej, Samantha Lemongrass

Sergej listened in on Evenever's idea, and much to his chagrin it sounded better than his. Oh well, suck it up, he thought to himself; not everyone liked hot peach juice. Sergej silently placed the pots in the cart; thank the heavens they fit! Stretching his arms, Sergej turned towards his red-haired compatriot as she introduced herself. Evenever was quite a strange name for a strange woman. He almost blurted it aloud which might have complicated things judging by her reaction to his nickname for her. "Never seen woman act like you." Was his only response to the 'how am I strange' comment. It was then that the first person since he had appeared in this world inquired about his own size. Sergej smiled, he had been waiting for this moment!
With a quick flex Sergej announced, "Sergej is man of men!" He dropped the flex, but not the smile. "I do not know how came to this world, but am glad Sergej kept body." He dusted off his arm before putting his right hand on his head of short blue hair. "But am not knowing how to deal with blue hair." The woman he was talking to had turned and started pulling the cart with her, causing Sergej to need to slightly jog to catch up. It hadn't dawned on him that he had technically failed his mission, as he still was happy for even finding the person he was sent to find.
As the duo reached the stand once more, Sergej realized his own plight. The moment Evenever had finished her sentence, Sergej walked over and occupied one of the spaces within Nutella's line of sight, paused for a couple seconds then began to speak. "Sergej could not find water. Does Cook know where water is?" Sergej looked down at the ground completely humiliated, in his own mind he felt like he didn't deserve any food now even if he paid for his own meal. The mans face could be easily read as perhaps depression? Sergej hated being useless more than anything else, it reminded him of home.

| | - Alright! – She nodded to Kadence with a large, confident grin – IT’S TWENTY-FIVE GOLD PER MEAL! - Nutella screamed so that everyone in line could hear
Taking into consideration the current state of the “game” they were in, anything was pointless. The priest did her research on the very first day of that new reality; Compared to what everyone was used to, the only real difference in this world was the fantasy theming and the many features that their previous reality couldn’t even dream with. They had no technologies, no advanced economy, no great amounts of information about that world either and most of the players, now adventurers, were used to technology and its ease which led to a countless number of lost players.
There was absolutely no drive to do anything. Everyone would just keep killing monsters just enough to rent an inn and eat a tasteless food. They were down and weak.
Everything she had done up until now was a gamble. Despite cooking the food, Nutella had no guarantees if it’d have any flavor, since she didn’t taste anything at all. However, the priest was confident; she wanted to make that place somewhere more fitting to live, and seeing the expressions of those in line made her happy. While her food wasn’t the best out there, it could easily remind them of home. However, before serving any meal, she heard a familiar voice; it was Evenever’s and beside her Sergej stood still. They successfully brought everything Nutella needed, except for water.
- Peach was a great choice! Here, let me help you. - She picked up the bushel full of peaches, putting it on the right most of the stall, stored with some other utensils. She had to take care with everything, since most of her basic kitchen tools were rented. Soon enough, everything was organized and the vegetables in their respective wooden baskets. Once finished, she bowed to Evenever. – As promised, I’m Nutella. Sorry for asking you to do so many things. I hope we can get along well!
Broad steps caught her eyes’ glance. Sergej moved from his previous position, somewhat closer to her. After hearing what he said and the look on his face, she let out a wide smile. The Guardian was a generous person, since he offered help even if Nutella didn’t ask for it.
- So you couldn’t find water, huh… Weird. I bought the water needed to cook in a stall that is a bit far from here. If it wasn’t for some landers’ help, I probably wouldn’t make it until here alone, since they’re pretty large and heavy for me. Only then one of the landers told me that there was another one close by. Anyways! For now, I’ll serve the food and leave the Juice for later, so don’t worry about it, Sergej. The intention is what counts. – She patted his armor softly, careful not to hurt her own hand.
Heading towards the stall’s counter, the chef picked up some bowls among other cooking utensils she had, and started serving the food. The first four bowls were well filled; A decent amount of rice and stew, topped with two tomato slices. The stew’s broth slowly mixed with the rice, and the vegetables had colors just as vivid as when they were raw, thanks to the boiling method she used earlier. Each bowl had their cutlery right beside them.
- I won't charge anything to you four. I hope you…!
"THUMP!" A loud noise came from the stall’s wooden counter. An armored knight hit it with great force, leaving some cracks. His eyes stared the priest.
- You lot do have courage. Now you’re even making shops, too! What are you trying to achieve!? – Another hit with great force stretched the cracks in the stall even further.
Startled, Nutella almost dropped the bow to the ground. In the end, she knew that something was going on, and it seemed like that man had the courage to spill all the words most landers couldn’t because of fear. To the priest, however, that man had a resentful and dark aura around him. The world around her quickly turned into a monochrome nightmare; her palinopsia was haunting her again. While most of the time benign, sometimes they’d appear as malign depending on external circumstances. She already felt something bad before, and this situation was the trigger to make everything worse for her.
Recovering from that state would be no easy task and Nutella would need to concentrate: and it’d be impossible for her at said moment, which led to a frozen girl without an answer for the knight. Her eyes glanced away, as if trying to escape that man’s pressure.
- LOOK AT ME! – He shouted as soon as he noticed her eyes’ movement. Some of the adventurers and landers alike in line started complaining about the situation.
- SHUT UP! - The knight yelled at them in response. – YOU ALL DON’T BELONG IN HERE! ADVENTURERS ALREADY STARTED KILLING SOME OF US, LANDERS!
He spotted some landers in line as well as all the other landers whom ignored the situation.
– HAVE YOU NO SHAME AT ALL!? ARE YOU ALL JUST GOING TO BOW BEFORE THEM LIKE THAT!?- Some landers stood to their feet, some simply glanced away, not wanting to involve in the situation. The situation turned upside down for not only Nutella, but most adventurers around.
The cleric still had no answer and didn't move an inch. |

Already in a state of confusion over what made this food so special, Samantha was thrown for an extra loop when Nutella announced the price. "T-twenty-five!?" Holy soot, what is this stuff, diamond-crusted potatoes? Sam had not bought much since she arrived, and still didn't understand how money functioned here, not that she was very good with it back home, either. Her stomach let out a little growl. I've eaten nothing but a little lettuce since yesterday, though. I wonder if I can find something cheaper, or if I should just pay for this. I would like to have somewhere to sleep tonight, so maybe I should save up. She let out an audible sigh. And here I thought this was all going to be fun and games here. I'm going to have to get a job, though. This is why I didn't want to play this stupid game in the first place. Maybe I can be a cook. Apparently that is lucrative. While Samantha continued to mull over money matters, two people came over to the stand-the tall man from before and the touchy-feely woman who was fond of Kadence. They brought peaches. Samantha loved peaches. Their juicy flesh, the way they tickle when you eat them... Surely she wouldn't charge too much if I just wanted a peach, right? I should ask her. Look how happy she is to see those people! I'm sure she is really nice... Her inner dialogue was once again broken by a loud thud. She turned to the sound and saw an armored knight slam his fist on the counter and shout at Nutella. He is yelling at her for setting up a shop? I would have yelled at her for making the prices so high, if anything. He hit the counter again, and it looked like he was starting to split the wood. She looked at Nutella to see how she would react. She looks terrified. Or... ashamed? Either way she- "Look at me!" The man exclaimed again. Samantha didn't know if Nutella had looked at him, but she sure did. Some people behind him started murmuring, but he broke through the sound with more yelling. "Shut up! You all don't belong here! You adventurers already started killing some of us landers!" Adventurers? Samantha thought. Right! Someone was talking about that before. That is us-the players of the game. Her mind was finally starting to take in some of the info her companions had shared with her thus far. Landers, well, obviously that is whatever he is.... Does that mean the people who are part of the game are alive? If Landers aren't players, what else could they be? The obnoxiously loud man continues to bellow out questions directed now at his audience and Nutella alike. This kind, cheery girl was now petrified by the man towering over her, and Samantha didn't like it. She marched forward and stood directly in front of him. "Hey, fudge face, if people are getting killed, why don't you take it up with someone who isn't in the middle of feeding people-you know, the opposite of what you are carrying on about?" She stands her ground, with a stern tone and fire in her eyes. "And before you ask, I'm not trying to pick a fight with you, because I'm not 12-years-old." This is about where he hits something, probably-preferably not me.... What have I done? I can't fight this beast of a man! Oh, wait, what am I worried about? This man's friends were just killed. This living, feeling person. I think. He has every right to be angry. "What I am doing, though, is asking you if there is anything us adventurers can do to help make things right." She takes a deep breath and firmly fixes her stare on his face. Don't punch me don't punch me don't punch me.

"Wait, chance at what?" Samantha had asked her as the bard set the pot down "I mean, it smells good, but is this food special or something?" Kadence looked confused Yeah, she's figured out how to add flavor. Have you not tasted the food of this world? Her "thoughts" were interrupted by Nutella's loud call. "Alright!" the girl was positively beaming "IT’S TWENTY-FIVE GOLD PER MEAL!" Several eyes bugged out at the price. Compared to the price for a normal meal around here, that was highway robbery! I mean, it's not like she doesn't have a monopoly on food with taste, but seriously?!"Right as Nutella started serving, Evenever returned, the giant of a man lumbering behind her, setting down a bushel full of peaches from a cart she'd somehow acquired. "Heey, Ms Cook, how's peach juice sound? Got these for a good price and I figured they would be easy to juice." Nutella settled things with all the new ingredients they'd brought back- Sergej looked a little ashamed that he hadn't found any water, but Nutella didn't seem so upset, comforting the large man before returning to the counter. The bard did what she could to help set up as her chef friend set out the first four bowls to the side "I won't charge anything to you four. I hope you…!" Before Nutella could finish her words, or Kadence her thought about the (sort of) free food, an armored knight slammed a fist down on the counter with a loud crash. His eyes narrowed in on Nutella, even as the cracks appeared. "You lot do have courage. Now you’re even making shops, too!" he slammed his fist again, and the hairline fractures spread like spider webs. "What are you trying to achieve!?" She wasn't sure if it was from the yelling or the way he'd just damaged her stall, or both, but the cleric promptly froze, and her scared gaze started turning away. "LOOK AT ME!" he demanded, forcing Nutella to turn her eyes back. A number of the adventurers started to boo and complain about this disruption, right when the food was about ready to eat. "SHUT UP!" he raged at them. "YOU ALL DON’T BELONG IN HERE! ADVENTURERS ALREADY STARTED KILLING SOME OF US, LANDERS!" Spotting a group of curious Landers in the line, and the lot nearby who were trying not to pay attention didn't help anything either. "HAVE YOU NO SHAME AT ALL!? ARE YOU ALL JUST GOING TO BOW BEFORE THEM LIKE THAT!?" Nutella trembled, and that was that. Kadence couldn't stand by any more. She wasn't sure who had moved first, herself or Samantha, but she now stood face-and-face to face with Samantha and the armored warrior, glaring even as she placed a comforting hand on Nutella's shoulder. "Hey, fudge face," Samantha roared back with a glistening rage of her own, "if people are getting killed, why don't you take it up with someone who isn't in the middle of feeding people-you know, the opposite of what you are carrying on about?" The knight recoiled for a moment in shock, but rage quickly took its place. Kadence silently cheered on her friend to give him a good-old-fashioned tongue-lashing. "And before you ask, I'm not trying to pick a fight with you, because I'm not 12-years-old. What I am doing, though, is asking you if there is anything us adventurers can do to help make things right." While she hadn't been able to say anything due to her... condition, Kadence at least felt good about being able to stand and fight for her new friends. Sergej smiled slightly as he was forgiven for not bringing the water, but the failure still somewhat stung. The slight pain of failure went away as he saw the first four bowls being served, and the fact that since he attempted to help meant he wasn’t being charged. Smiling widely he started to prepare for a hopefully tasty meal, when he heard a slam from behind him. Sergej paused, listening to the voice he now heard as the man badmouthed the woman kind enough to feed him. LOOK AT ME! The man had yelled. This prompted Sergej to stand up on his own, turning around before beginning to glower at the man silently. Adventurers killing landers? What was mentioned before when Sergej and Evenever had tried finding water had come back to haunt them. Sergej almost spat in the man’s general direction in an attempt to cause him to try something, but his hesitation gave way to the entrance of another; Sergej recognized her from the first time he was here, but had no name to put to the face. Blondie, he said in his head, that is what will call her for now. When Blondie called the man 12, Sergej instinctively walked forward standing next to her. Words like those were fighting words, and seeing as how the mad was angry he could just sense violence about to happen, and if he swung at the woman he now stood beside, Sergej would make him regret it. Rage slowly started building up inside the berserker, causing him to grit his teeth. The blonde woman continued rather diplomatically, although Sergej felt as though the words wouldn’t stick to the man, so he spoke up in a rather deep hostile voice.
“Don’t be first to deserve.” Sergej kept glaring, and he was prepared to fight, more-so than most of the people there.

Sam stood before the giant man, rather confident that she had said all the right things-a rare occurrence for her. Two of the others from the stand stood next to her, too. He wont punch me now, I hope, but I don't think this is going to send the right message. She was a little surprised that Kadence had joined her, since Kadence seemed quite meek at first. This girl was such a mystery; Sam knew getting to know her would be quite enjoyable. Before the knight could reply to Sam's bold monologue, one of the people who joined her said something. When it came to intimidatingly large people, the knight who had rained on their parade was quite impressive, but this man very well may have been larger. Sergej was his name, from the looks of it, and Sam was certain she would pronounce that incorrectly. "Don't be the first to deserve." The man who stood at her side remarked. She would have nodded in agreement had she not thought about what he said. Don't be the first to deserve what? Does he just talk weird or-oh my goodness! What is he saying? Sam's mind raced. She had to think of something to reply with quickly. The last thing she wanted was these two men getting in a brawl when she was so close to getting potato stew. No, the stew isn't important. I can't let this big, dumb brute pick a fight with this big, sad brute. A number of other words could have described the harsh knight. Angry, obnoxious, stupid, but Sam had mentally resolved that she had taken his side, so she chose to think of him as a sad brute who needed empathy above all else. This was a decisive moment, and she took action. God, please let this be the right thing to do. Pulling a spear from her back, she turned toward Sergej and pointed it at his face. She kept her back facing the knight, trying to give the indication that she had taken his side. "So, someone grieves their loved ones and what? Suddenly they deserve to die?" Sam nearly spit the word 'deserve' out of her mouth. "This man may have not been the nicest, but he is a person with real feelings. I'd go so far to say that he is realer than you." Sam tried to hide how fast her heart was beating, how scared she was. Her fear was so great, in fact, that her mental euphemism maker shut off completely. I may have just pissed off two men who could snap me like a twig. What have I done? But, despite any dread she may have felt, she felt no regret. She had never played a video game before, but she had seen them played. The people in those games knew two or three sentences. They didn't get angry or grieve their loved ones. In Samantha's heart, the man behind her was real and she couldn't help but care for him.

As with the agreement, the chef told her name to Evenever. Nutella. Like, the chocolate spread Nutella? She'd never tried it before. She doubted if she tasted Nutella, she would taste like chocolate, though. Would be a fun way to tease her, though if they got to know each other more. Sergej let her know they didn't find a water vendor, which didn't seem to bother her too much. He, on the other hand, seemed to take it a little too seriously. Reminder to not be sarcastic with this man in the future... Nutella was preparing to sell the food when a large man in armour had forced his way to the stall and started to damage it. Well that wasn't nice. Evenever assessed the situation. Too much had happened yesterday, but she did learn several facts about this place. Violence doesn't help anything and will only serve to get yourself killed. Too many deaths due to riots made it clear that for adventurers, death is not the end. Adventurers are resurrected. And with how emotional death was to those who were not adventurers... they do not resurrect. What life was like for these people before they, the adventurers, took over these bodies, she had no idea. Given their current treatment, adventurers were probably not held in the highest of regard. Probably even feared. Now? Tensions are running high. Even with the fear of Royal Guard retaliation in the back of his head, this man at the stall now might just be angry enough to attack. Would the Royal Guard show up if a Person of the Land started combat in the city? Odds are yes, otherwise he would have attacked first instead of pounding on the stall. There's no use in testing anything right now. What was important was keeping as many people out of the conflict as possible. She has no chance in stopping Sergej. She didn't even know the blonde girl who somehow got caught in the middle of this. She could probably pull Nutella out of all of this, but it would only make the armoured man more angry, being that she was the current target of his frustration. That left Kadence, who had somehow saw it fit that she be in the middle of the whole thing right beside the blonde girl. The man was trying to get the crowd on his side. He wasn't looking to fight. Tears... she needed to force tears. Just her crying wouldn't be enough though. Nutella looked to be about on the verge of tears. If she could get Kadence to cry, too. No one would be able to side with a man who made three girls cry... Well, nothing was going to change if she didn't act. Tears... tears... she needed to bring back a bad memory to force herself to cry... Her mother's death would have to do. Her father was never the same since then, it crushed her to see her family so torn and to say goodbye to her mother. Mia was silent and would only cry at night. In the whole ordeal, Logan left everything and no one had heard from him since. A pain was in her chest thinking about everything she forced to resurface. Tears were welling in her eyes and she sniffled a bit. Hold the thought... Okay, time to move. She rushed behind Kadence and pulled her back a decent distance behind the blonde girl and Sergej. " We didn't do anything! Why are you doing this to us?" She yelled at the armoured man. Even her voice sounded distraught. She held Kadence with both her arms aroudn her and brought mouth to her ears so she could whisper to her without anyone else hearing. "Drum up some tears and cry with me. If you can't cry, turn your head into my chest and hug me. Put on a show." Nutella, Kadence, Sergej, Samantha Lemongrass

| | A sudden chill went down her spine with the second slam, making her vision blurry for a moment. The ground darkened, turning into a pitch-black soil. The greenery slowly died and the sky lost its lively blue, giving rise to a mix of pale white and grey. Her illusion was getting worse every second that passed. Did she do something wrong? Why was that man so angry at her? Were adventurers really that bad to the point of killing someone? Lost in thoughts, she tried to understand the situation, despite her mouth not moving in the slightest. She was naïve to think that someone would need her. No one would need a happy-happy girl that would easily get afraid of anything and freeze, just like now.
Her negative line of thought was abruptly interrupted by the second slam. Slightly lost, the cleric was too busy trying to recover herself from that visual nightmare. She heard footsteps; they were short enough for Nutella to tell that they belong to those that helped her until then. Samantha stood for her, even though they just met. Just a moment after, Kadence and Sergej approached to her aid as well. In the end, as much as she felt pessimistic, Camilla couldn’t deny that she probably made good friends. Hearing the first words of Samantha, the man chuckled.
- Heh! You’ve got guts to tell me something like that, blondie! I’m sure that none of you know who’s stall this one is, right?! – He gritted his teeth, pointing first at Nutella, and after that, everyone closer to her. – This stall was my father’s! The same oldman that your folk killed! I don’t care if she’s helping someone or not! How am I supposed to trust any of you!? You suddenly change from lifeless beings to people with emotion and even kill us! Kadence approached, followed by Sergej. The man clad in armor glared at both, a deep voice came from the giant’s lips. The grit of his teeth made the grin on the knight’s face enlarge.
- Deserve? The ones who deserve anything here are none but you lot! We don’t need any of you here so get the --!
He was interrupted once again, this time, by Samantha. Listening to what she said confused him. What, she was on his side now even though the blondie herself was an adventurer as well? Without knowing how to react to that, the lander noticed the Evenever pulling Kadence, tears rolling down her cheeks. The fact that Samantha had her weapon in hands made everything worse; depending on the giant man’s answer, the royal guard could appear at any given moment.
- Showing sympathy for us won’t turn the dead back to life, much less will lower our fear of you so easily! - Turning back, the man slowly walked away. – You’re safe inside these walls. You’d better pray that I won’t find any of you out there…
Ignoring any kind of answer, the man soon disappeared in the middle of the busy streets of Londinium. Quickly enough, everyone began minding their own business again. Still in shock Nutella braced herself, slowly calming down even though the illusions didn’t vanish. Combined with this, everyone in the suddenly silenced.

Things didn't look like they were going to stay peaceful. Between Sergej's thinly veiled threat and Samantha having a weapon drawn, diplomacy was quickly failing them, and Kadence was unable to say anything that might resolve the situation. She was almost ready to speak and blow her whole cover when a pair of arms suddenly wrapped around her and pulled her close. She recognized the woman-handling immediately, even before Evenever spoke up. "We didn't do anything! Why are you doing this to us?" the woman cried out, distraught. Kadence was shocked. Eve didn't seem like the person who would cry at the drop of a hat- and protecting someone who had been standing so fiercely was... weird. However, the sorcerer quickly cleared up her suspicions. "Drum up some tears and cry with me" she whispered. "If you can't cry, turn your head into my chest and hug me. Put on a show." Ritualists, or at least Evenevers must be pretty good actors to get the tears flowing so freely. Kadence's face was already red from the surprise contact, so she needed only turn around and try as hard as possible not to make the embrace look genuine and not weird like it actually was. Girls certainly didn't hold him like this in the real world, and he certainly didn't hug them back in the same way. Granted, he was a fair bit shorter here and female, but while the lack of crying wasn't obvious, the inexperience was. Thankfully, Samantha managed to talk the man down- or maybe he realized the crowd wasn't on his side- and he stormed off, leaving a wake of negative feelings that had the whole area silenced. Realizing the man was gone, Kadence lifted her head... had she actually started crying a little? She blinked to try and clear the tears from her eyes before surveying the situation. Whatever was going on, Nutella was still trapped in a trance of some sort, and it was worrying... Sergej simply glares directly into Samantha's eyes the moment she puts the spear in his face. He had thought to yell at her, but seeing her expression forced him to hold his tongue. The only thing that caused Sergej to break eye contact, was when the man spoke once more. He went on about deserving, thanks to Sergej's own line before talking about bringing back the dead, and then threatening to attack everyone the moment they leave the walls. This last part caused Sergej to utter a near inhuman growl, causing his glare to intensify. It was then that he heard the crying of the women behind him, and glanced to see who it was. Evenever and the smaller one were practically broken down. Turning back towards Samantha, his glare settled before he used his left hand to brush the spear point away from himself, and the crowd of people. "You misunderstand. Nobody be the deserving of death, unless they try kill another." Sergej smiled lightly, hoping to make his speech seem perfectly fine despite his broken english. "I hope angry man doesn't meet Sergej outside of city. Sergej will give big whoopin!" Sergej laughed heartily before patting the spearwoman on her shoulder. "Conflict is over, let us eat." He turned towards Evenever and Kadence, approaching them slowly and cautiously.
"Stop the crying, please stop with all of the tears. Angry man gone, all is fine." He would poke Kadence and Evenever, ever so slightly, only leaving the two when Evenever's act is put aside to check up on Nutella. "Hey, hey, do with the waking, there is food to be the serving!" He would shake her lightly in an attempt to get her out of her shocked phase. "Worry not about the man, he is in wrong, not you." He smiled widely before standing up, and walking back over to his bowl.
Words: 313 Notes: Sergej is wanting to move on with the eating! :D

What did he say? Samantha asked herself in her mind. The man she was defending had just spoken, and didn't sound happy. Her fear had overcome her, though, and her judgement and her senses had become cloudy. There she stood, a tiny paper wall between two men that from her standpoint were behemoths. A fight could brake out at any moment and her body was the only thing keeping them apart. Well, that and her spear. When had she drawn it? Why was she pointing it at this man? What could she possibly do if he called her bluff? Everything had been so clear to her a moment ago, but now nothing made sense. Suddenly, the sound of her heart beating in her ears was drowned out by the sound of footsteps. He was leaving. The sad brute was, in fact, not going to trample her to death from behind. Now, it was the man in front of her's turn. He spoke, and despite her best attempts, Sam didn't understand what he said. Not because his English was too broken, but because her brain hadn't switched back on yet. It wasn't until he smiled at her and pushed her spear to the side that she felt herself relax. She let out a shaky sigh and the man, Sergej, touched her shoulder. Did he understand why I did that? She wonders. Sam couldn't tell. "Conflict is over, let us eat." He said, and finally Sam felt the tension release from her body. She nearly fell over, propping herself on her spear for support. "Whew." She said. "I could have sworn that was going to go worse than it did." She adds, under her breath. She looks to see where everyone else is and realizes they aren't listening to her talk. Sergej has already gone to eat his food and the girls seem to be comforting each other. Sam walks over to where Nutella was and put her weapon back where it was. "So, that was fun, huh?" She asked. "Are you going to be alright.... Nutella?"

Everything just kinda ended too quickly. Evenever wasn't quite sure what all she had either missed or ignored. For example, where did the spear come from? Was this the stall of some dead man and was this his son? Even so, there was no way they could have known that. She thought back a bit to what the man she had stopped in the street said about the water vendor... he had said his stall sat empty. So this stall couldn't have been the water vendor's stall, because it obviously isn't empty right now. This had turned into a bit of a puzzle in her head. So the big man wasn't the water vendor's son. Dang, that would have made getting water easier, she could have tried to convince the man to take up his father's trade... Unless what the lavender-haired man told her was a lie. Unless she was being led to a conclusion based on false pretences, in which case... was the vendor's son lied to as well? She'd seen no body, for all she knew he hadn't either... Ahh, but with no other clues to go on, there was nothing she could do but speculate on, well, everything. But that wasn't what was important right now. The man was gone, so it was time to get back to what was going on before he rudely interrupted. Evenever was jostled out of her thoughts by Sergej, who poked her on the shoulder. It brought Evenever's thought to a different direction. Regardless if the vendor was really dead or not, his son believed he was. He lost his father. Is that the way her brothers would have acted when they lost their mother? Is this why Logan left? She brought her head back and face toward the sky, eyes closed. She took a deep breath to put the emotions aside for now. Then all that was left was her headache. " Right." She brought her face back forward and wiped the tears from her eyes before opening them back up. " Right, where were we then? You said something about free food?" Kadence was still in Evenever's arms, though Evenever was also trapped in Kadence's embrace, too. Evenever lightly patted the mute brunette on the back. " Alright, Kadence, good show. The big guy is gone now..." Nutella, Kadence, Sergej, Samantha Lemongrass
