Maintenance period for Elder Tale 21st Expansion <Renaissance in the Unfounded Kingdom>
It was Pitou's day-off from the very toxic work of Intelligence Services and this Maintenance period for her only escape proved to be horrifying for her. It was always horrifying whenever a maintenance in Elder Tale happens, the down time and patch time proved very long hours of waiting for Pitou. Elder Tale became Pitou's sanctuary, working in wee hours and constant pressure of "Saving the World" or at least the city started to slowly deteriorate her personality. Her recent check-up with the Intelligence' resident psychologist advised her that she's developing the dark triad of personalities, Narcissism, Machiavellian-ism and Psychopathy. Pitou just shrugged these advises off and went on with her usual routine, that day she knew that it was still maintenance period so she went out and bought some food in preparation for the patch deployment.
"One floss roll please, a bag of cheese buns and a 6-can pack of soda water." Pitou asked the bakery attendant with a smile and the guy smiled back, she was a regular after all. Pitou looked down on her wrists, the long hand of her watch ticked as the thinner second hand move each second then a beep was heard a few moments after. "Finally, just in time." She looked back at the cashier and paid for the stuff, took her change, said thanks and walked off the Deli.
Pitou walked up the stairs, pulled out her keys and slid it in the metal lock. She twisted the key but it didn't seem to move. "Oh come on." Dangling keys can be heard through the apartment hallway, she tried another key, sliding it in the lock then a click was heard. She twisted the metal bow and the door unlocked. Faint light can be seen through the wooden divider that can be seen first thing upon entering the small apartment unit. The unit is small but big enough for a single occupant, a square single room unit roughly 3 metres wide and 8 metres from the door onwards. Putting the paper bag she was carrying into the counter just beside the sink. She pulled out the 6-pack soda water, grabbed a can and flicked the opener. Fizz bubbled and the sound echoed the silent room, Pitou tilted the opening in her lips and let the carbonated drink run through her dry throat. "Burp, Ah that was refreshing... now let's look at what do we have here" Pitou turned around to her computer desk and saw the Elder Tale patcher screen downloading the update files. She grabbed the floss roll she bought together with the opened can of soda water and sat in front of the computer. A nibble here of the floss, followed by a sip of the sparkling refreshment, Pitou stared at the progress bar of the patcher and it slowly moves from 30% to 32% to 35%. "Is it that big or my internet is just slow as hell." She moved the mouse towards the pc taskbar and looked at the time, 6:30 pm. Pitou reached for the remote right on top of her bed and clicked the input button changing the input type of the PC monitor to cable TV. Channels switched from one to another as fingers press on the channel up button, pausing randomly in between then starting the scanning again. Reverting back to PC input in a click, she looked at the progress bar saying 57%. "Oh lord, this takes forever!" A frustrated grunt was heard from the lady as she munched the last bite of her floss roll and tipped the can upside down opposite her mouth emptying the container and throwing it on the nearby trash bin clattering the empty can against the metal walls of the disposal. Pitou let out a yawn then put her arms crossed in the desk and laid her head in it.
Progress bar ticked to 100% and the display changed, The Elder Tale window opened and filled the computer screen "Elder Tale Episode 21:Renaissance of the ASHASDworldASDCRQWlondonASDACfractionASDCXCVSDHG" . A message blinked just beneath the Title saying "Press any key to continue" light from the monitor goes strong then go mild as the message flashes, Pitou is still asleep on her arms across the computer screen just below the keyboard. The humming sound of the apartment air-conditioning system let out a continuous engine revving sound as the light on the monitor flickers, then suddenly it stopped then darkness and silence engulfed the area, the whole block, the whole city. Electronic devices stopped working, must be from the blackout then the clock was left lit-up displaying "00:00"
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wind rustling the trees and birds flapping through the skies. Voices can be heard from afar some are loudly asking audible questions, some crying and some walking around. A cold drop of liquid woke the girl leaning on the rock, her eyes open slowly taking a glance on what is happening around her. Little did she know, the more her eyes open, the more she looks around, the more she sees would make everything lost its sense meaning and what not. The lady sprang up from what she was sitting down on and in her sudden motion accidentally bumping her head on a wooden plank coincidentally rest on top of her. "Bloody hell!" the familiar voice surprised the speaker herself, "this voice sounds familiar..." The lady lifted her hands and she saw that she was wearing something different, but familiar. She hurriedly walked around looking for glass or something to look at herself, then she found this broken window conveniently big enough similar to a full body mirror lying around. She picked it up and stood in against a concrete wall then what followed astonished her. "You have got to be kidding me... What the bloody hell is this..." The lady couldn't wipe the astonished look on her face as she looks at her reflection immediately recognizing this outfit, then she remembered the voice that came out of her own mouth, she now knows why it seemed familiar, why the clothes seemed all too familiar. In a wave of her hand a display appeared suddenly in front of her it said:

"This can't be happening... I am inside Elder Tale..."
