Youka plopped herself down with her small legs hanging off of a dock. The dock was one of the docks she had found on the Avon River. This one was a few meters away from the Avon Waterfall. Youka wanted to be in nature for her birthday, August 19th, because being in nature all alone made her feel calm. She especially enjoyed the silence of anything except the sound of the waterfall that she could see from the dock. The river was a beautiful blue color and it made her smile. As Youka enjoyed the sereneness of the land she thought back onto what had happened on her birthday during her high school years. It was the main reason she hated being near people, even more than usual, on her birthday. It was probably also the biggest reason about why she had a serious distrust of people. More than anything it was because of him, her old boyfriend, hell he was her only one. His name, though she hated to even think it, was Charles. Youka didn't remember his last name because it wasn't worth remembering.
Nothing about Charles was worth remembering but considering the fact that he was the reason Youka got hurt so much and felt betrayed in the first place was all because of him. The story being that Youka had decided to surprise Charles on her birthday so she could be with him. She had gotten a day off from her job. Her first off day in months. As Youka had been walking to Charles' room after his mom let her in Youka had opened the door to find that Charles and a girl she didn't even know were making out and doing things. At the time Youka had screamed we're over with tears rolling down her face and ran out the door.
Youka shook her head fervently not wanting to remember what had happened back then. Nonetheless her mind betrayed her again and she kept remembering. What had hurt Youka the most wasn't the fact that Charles had done things with another girl, which did hurt a lot, but the fact that he didn't call out to her or try to stop her from leaving him. He hadn't even called to apologize or anything along those lines. That in anything showed Youka that Charles probably hadn't loved her by the time it rolled around. Maybe he never loved her or maybe he had stopped loving her slowly after she suddenly had to work a lot which took up most of her time which in turn made it so that she rarely had time for Charles. She would probably never know about Charles' feelings.
While Youka was remembering things she didn't want to remember tears had started to fall down her face like tsunami waves. It really still hurt about Charles had done all those years. Still being hurt because of Charles made Youka hate herself. She would never admit it to herself of course but she had a deep seated hate for herself and was in fact was also extremely insecure. Neither of which Youka knew about on a conscious level, only on a subconscious one which was probably why she hadn't completely broken down yet. However, on a conscious level Youka did know that she hated people and believed them all to be like Charles and only betrayed each other in the end. That was why Youka warped her personality in a subconscious way into the angry violent little thing she was today. She did know that she used the anger and distrust at people and the world to protect her feelings and extremely delicate heart.
Youka lay back on the dock as she cried silently. This was why she hated her birthday so much. It always caused her some sadness because of the way she had been used and found out about it. It was humiliating and not fun whatsoever to cry.
After some time, maybe about fifteen minutes, she stopped crying. The tears and feelings had taken a toll on Youka and before she knew she had closed her eyes and fallen fast asleep to the sound of the waterfall and the forest that surrounded the waterfall and river.
