1) Ultimatum Plastics: [item]
Everything is made of Anima. Following this truth is the first step on the path of the Alchemist. By melting mana crystals into the already naturally Anima-charged protein typically found in junk monster part drops, through the help of a strong acid, Anima is able to take on a more tangible, malleable, form. Producing a kind of waxy glue, the final, glowing, overcharged state is highly dangerous which necessitates a filtration process where the Alchemist must force the excess anima to depart through sudden violent transfusion to a more naturally occurring element in nature. Failure to accomplish this necessary step correctly will instead create a bomb of high potential. Done correctly, the moldable and safely inert putty may be shaped by hand into a variety of useful forms left very nearly limited to only the imagination of the crafter. Ultimatum Plastic is a versatile material useful for countless crafts. Lighter than metal, Ultimatum Plastic retains a similar flexibility in forging potential but cannot rival its more natural cousin in durability. The material solidifies through moisture taking on a form that is very similar to the variety of plastics likely familiar to adventurers from earth. Typically dries a clean white when fully complete, the material is highly dye-able afterward. Invented by Dr. Ultima through countless explosions, this new element is named for her genius. The Alchemist that crafts this item may rewrite its name and description.
2) Ultimatum Plastic Explosive:
A rawer form of Ultimatum Plastic that actually represents an incomplete and highly dangerous but still applicable version of the element. If the filtration process of Ultimatum Plastic is not performed, the material will be capable of maintaining a self-adhesive clay-like state of glowing matter. This putty can maintain an explosive readiness nearly indefinitely. A good metaphor for Ultimatum Plastic Explosive is that of a balloon filled nearly to bursting. Contact with even small amounts of pure, non-elemental Anima will cause a violent explosion surprisingly efficient for its mass and volume. This version of adhesive Ultimatum Plastic can in very small amounts cause very precise explosions. Handy for the discerning demolitionist. The standard of measurement and mode of transportation of the finished product is typically by the brick. Invented by Dr. Ultima by accident.
3) Sunglasses:
Plastic frames inserted with non-prescribed tinted glass. Blocks bright light while looking cool. Not useful for much else.
Explanation:
Ultimatum Plastics Abstract: Everything is made of anima. Junk monster parts that in the game were simply trash to sell are currently an underutilized resource. By melting this protein anima down with pure mana crystals through a strong acid, a powerful animatical reaction takes place producing a kind of waxy glue. If the ratio is off, this glue can become overloaded with excess anima becoming extremely unstable which can be signified by a glow. This version can in very small amounts cause very precise, volatile, explosions by adding excess mana to the point that the substance pops very nearly like an anima balloon. This represents Ultimatum in its failed, but still applicable form. Its true form is an, inert, stable compound that may be molded like a self-adhesive putty before solidifying through moisture into Elder Tale's version of plastic. An effective way to force excess anima out of the concoction is to find a way to convert the offending overcharge violently into another element. Sudden conversion is key. Ultimatum Plastic is a versatile material useful for countless crafts. Lighter than Iron, Ultimatum Plastic retains a similar flexibility in forging but cannot rival its more natural cousin in durability.
Dr. Ultima through her reasoning worked toward the use of what would be commonly considered junk loot in an attempt to make a glue that dried much harder than that on Earth. This glue, she figured could be sculpted for a variety of uses and help to divorce Alchemists from a blacksmith's metals. Pursuing trash drop animal parts, Dr. Ultima added purer anima in an attempt to catch the ethereal element in a more physical form. Dr. Ultima had not expected the new substance to be volatile however. This version of the plastic presented a new problem as the excess anima was searching for a quick means to escape by way of bursting overload. Useful in its own right as an explosive, Dr. Ultima continued to seek a means to render the substance stable. Remembering that anima represented the purest form of matter and more naturally tended to exist in other forms around the fantasy world, Dr. Ultima decided to attempt to as instantly as possible convert the excess anima into an exiting state through a lightning spell. In theory, Dr. Ultima chalked this idea up to being similar in method to how excess energy can be converted into heat. A heat bleed if you will.
If anima represented energy potential, Dr. Ultima figured that by infusing this into a substance already composed the element in a different form, a solid could be given a more shapeable disposition. Something between solid and liquid, clay can become whatever you want it to. Magic clay is no different. It was an accident however to discover that moisture was capable of hardening the material further into her true goal. She suspects that this occurs by way of a final sweep of the liquid which removes any excess anima potential through a wash that converts the final leftover potential into additional water.
