Before you all lies an old building. This building was used a long time in the past, as a place of standard learning. What most would consider a high school of sorts back in the day, is now a small labyrinth of danger and demons. Amidst the forestry, where it was hidden from sight, stands this ancient building, where education roamed free, and the children whose minds were flourishing with new knowledge, every single day. On the outside, you can see that the windows are smashed, the doors are rickety, and the walls of the place are starting to crumble. From inside, you can hear the sounds of various monsters and being scurrying around through the rubble. You all stand upon the pathway leading up to the building, facing it. Perhaps this would be a good time to discuss how the group will work? Or maybe you should charge in, guns blazing, so to speak? All this aside, the sun has already set, and the night has begun. Around you, nothing is stirring. No monsters, no natural wildlife, nothing. All that can be heard and felt is the wind, as it gently blows through the forest. The trees rustle slightly in the breeze, and a few leaves occasionally fall down around you. The night is still. You all have been asked to enter this dungeon, and discover what is happening inside of it. Scouts have reported that the building seems to be extra dangerous at night, as different monsters begin to roam the halls. While normally there would be weaker monsters during the day, the night brings about the predators that stalk their prey. You have all been warned that nobody has even set foot inside, and no map exists of the place yet. You will all be going in blind, and have no real knowledge of what lies ahead. Not even an idea of what the monsters will be like, once you get inside. The team that has asked you all to come wished you the best of luck, before each individual set out. They did not inform you of who your companions were, only that you would not be alone. You may take this time to introduce yourselves to one another, as you have all arrived at about the same time. From there, make a decision. Now, you must choose! 1. Enter the building. 2. Continue to observe the outside. 3. Turn around, walk away, and nope right outta here. The sun had already set by the time Sayha arrived at the building, and she felt something in the air that didn’t seem quite right. All the buildings around were decrepit, but the school gave off another sort of vibe that the other buildings didn’t give. The pathway ahead looked too worn for this to have been abandoned forever; maybe there were people somehow inhabiting the place. Sayha had been asked to come by a group of scouts who didn’t reveal who they came from. That of course made her suspicious, especially with the Messier Sages still around. Despite that, she knew that coming to check it out would be the best course of action… especially because the scouts asked her to lead the dungeon. Sayha hadn’t lead any parties since the Catastrophe, but she had no problem being selected. At least she would be able to assist with the outcome.
Behind her, Sayha heard the footsteps of four other people, and she turned to see both familiar and new faces.
“Since you’re here, I’m assuming you were summoned by the scouts as well,” Sayha said, “For those who may not know, I am Sayha, a Tracker Assassin, and I will be leading this party. At this moment in time, we have no information on this dungeon or what we may find beyond the doors. The goal for this dungeon is to investigate the dungeon itself and eliminate any enemies we find.”
“Since I already know most of you at least in passing,” Sayha continued, inviting the other four into party with her, “Fletcher, I would like you to be Operator since you’ll be our primary healer. Capsule, I want you to be our Field Monitor and make sure that we don’t miss any enemies. Nisha, you will be our primary tank so you will be on the front lines with me. Noctis, make sure nothing gets past the front lines. Our formation will be simple. Nisha at the front. I will be right behind Nisha. Noctis you will be in the middle, Capsule and Fletcher will follow from the rear.”
“Now as for what we do next,” Sayha turned around briefly to look at the building, “We can either go inside, scout around the building, or leave. I am voting we go inside and we’ll deal with the scouting then. What are your opinions?”
Sayha suggests that the group should 1: Enter the building.

Raising her eyebrow a little, she looked at the building in front of her. It looked so out of place it was interesting and seeing it as anything but a dungeon would have been difficult even without thinking about more of that. So far she had only heard about the place from rumors and fellow travelers who had passed by it, her NPC connections keeping her appraised to the situation without being too much help. Who could really expect them to wander into this when it was basically screaming at you that monsters were just waiting behind the entrance door. Not the kind of job a lander should do, it was adventurer work and there was a sparkle in Nisha´s eyes as she looked at the building. She had left behind quite some levels for this, which meant that at the moment three tails were lazily moving around behind her as she looked around and at the faces of the people she would go with. Some quite familiar, some not so much. But one was already holding a strategy meeting, for which Nisha was quite thankful. She hated having to order people around more than following them. And in the end, she would do her own thing anyway, as tank that was pretty much what she could do, vanguard stuff, leading the party around after carefully listening to the intel. It was not ordering people more than bringing them along on a fun adventure. But really, just looking at the building made her wonder what kind of monsters would await them. Listening to Sayha, she smiled at her and nodded at some points when it seemed appropriate, waiting for her to finish. Scouting was not really something Nisha was good at, she was a master in getting lost and finding interesting things, both not really necessary for scouting. "Hmm, I agree with you Sayha, but how about we take a chance and try to get to the roof and scout from up there? Should make it easier to view the surroundings and then we will have a somewhat good idea of the lay of the inside as well. Also, looking forward to working with you all, just leave the defense to me. I am sturdier than I look. As for my classes, I am Nisha, a samurai exorcist, so leave it to me if we need to exorcise things... most of them. Aside from tanking, if push comes to shove I can add support as dps from any range with bow, grimoire or sword." Laughing, Nisha looked around and for a last time made sure everything was in order, her armor and weapons, her sword, check, her grimoire, check, her bow, check. Alright, seems like she was ready and now raring to go. It had been ages since she had last been in a dungeon, with how quickly the map was uncovered and Nisha got lost in woods or vast expanses (not totally unhappy with it either) most of the groups she thought about traveling with either found different partners or had already moved on and gone to the next destination. Well, today she would do her best and finally be able to try out some of the tank moves with a party. She just hoped they would not mind if she did a bit more than just take hits, after all, she was a soak tank and could make quite nice use of her various tier one skills she had acquired today readily. She was basically shivering with anticipation and her tails began to furrow a little and became even more plushy and huggable as they snaked around in a hypnotic fashion. She had taken extra care to add some brush strokes to her usual to look her absolute best today. After all, a party had to put their trust into a tank and she would not lose that right from the start by appearing with dirty tails. Ah, to be finally on the front lines again. It was the best feeling. [attr="class","solcap"] The tails. They would not cease their hypnotic twitching. And those ears -- aaaaw. They were tufted. That was so adorable. How soft would they feel to the touch? Would they flicker before she could take them between her fingertips? 'Naaaa~.' Foxes were so cute, yet so hard to catch. And fox tails were woefully part human, so she could not just walk up to them and pet their ears or stroke their tails. Some of them might find it offensive to be treated like a pet. It was unfair to Capsule, who was an animal lover. She liked animals more than people, in fact; her career of choice may have been veterinarian, had she gone to university.
Capsule stood in silent agony to the left of Nisha, who she recognized as the same fox tail she had worked with during that cleaning event last year. The two of them had worn maid outfits for the occasion, though Capsule was also a redhead at the time. She had no idea if Nisha would even remember her… the woman flickered her eyes towards Sayha, the Assassin she was convinced that Hiro was sweet on. She had been speaking for a few moments now, though Capsule had only been half paying attention to her.
The lot of them were standing outside of a dilapidated building. Some scouting group had pointed them towards this location, and one by one the Adventurers gathered together. Seeing that her former pupil, Noctis, had ceased being a scrub and gotten a few levels under his belt was a pleasant surprise. The dwarf, Fletcher, she only knew as a client beforehand. She had no idea how he and Sayha would function in battle, but was confident in everyone else.
"Mmm… Monitoring is what I do best." Coincidentally, it was almost always from the rear. Her eyes subtly strayed in Nisha's direction. Damn fox tails… Her Animal Trainer level was certainly not high enough to tame the level eight two Samurai, even if she was leveled down to thirty. Why did her tails look so plush? Did she deliberately prettify them as a trap for curious Adventurers? 'I bet they would make a lovely fur coat.' Hunting fox tails for their tails was highly unethical, of course. She would never do such a thing. Nope.
While Sayha continued to map out player positioning, Capsule casually leaned her head towards Nisha's ear. "No maids outfit this time?" She spoke softly, so as not to call attention to herself from the rest of the crew. If that did not ring a bell for the fox, she did not know what would. Well, aside from grabbing a tail. Capsule wanted to avoid doing that, since, in her experience, fox tails responded easily to stimuli. She had learned that the hard way.
"I think we should take a look around, first." Capsule was now standing straight (ahaha) and away from Nisha. She had to keep up the façade of being fully alert, otherwise what good would she be to the group as a field monitor? "There may be a clue or something to provide… foreshadowing." Charging headlong into unknown territory was dangerous. She would rather not be forced to stand in a corner by some demented witch.

Why had he been called here? Before him stood the remains of an old school building, even from the grounds you could hear that it was an indomitable nest of creatures, and one that Fletcher didn’t particularly want to disturb for good reason. The only reason he was here was because a group of scouts had approached him and personally asked him to check the place out. He had nothing else to do, as was the driving factor behind many of the activities, and set out to the meeting place for this venture. The sun was setting as Fletcher entered the Windsor Greatwood, and followed the designated path to where he was now, seemingly at the same time as everyone else. Perhaps it was carefully calculated that everyone would arrive at the same time, but according to the scouts that directed him here, these were to be his companions.
In addition, this place was uncharted territory; they’d be the first ones sent in as those that had proven themselves in one form or another to be worthy. Granted, it was equally likely that they were random people plucked from the masses and these were just the others that had agreed to the errand. ”Playing Operator sounds fine. As you’re aware, I’m used to it already, Sayha.” He spoke roughly, brushing off the delegation as no big deal, but being respectful while doing so. It wasn’t a major call, but one that was better pointed out now rather than in the middle of the fray. Either way, it looked like he and Carbuncle would be on healing duty again, and that seemed just fine. The night had settled in and the air was deathly still as Fletcher sized up his companions for this venture. Of the people, he recognised two; Sayha and Noctis, as people he’d adventured with before. Sayha he knew only marginally better, but she was a good asset. The others seemed to be well aware of themselves and boasted levels much higher. As luck would have it, Sayha was the leader of this band, be it appointed by the scouts he had no idea, but Fletcher was at least thankful for someone he’d had commands from before.
She delegated roles of the party and it seemed to be sound a call. Fletcher played Operator in their last dungeon run and that seemed to go well enough. After all, a healer is only as good as their awareness to the people they were taking care of. Sayha suggested entering the building and going from there; given how little was going on outside the building it seemed logical. Nisha and Capsule were both of the mind to do additional scouting before entering, which also made sense. While sticking around out here could give them additional clues, the unnatural silence that surrounded them made Fletcher want to get inside and start looking around. ”I don’t like it out here. Something doesn’t seem right with how quiet it is. I’m voting to head on inside and we’ll go from there.” He looked to Sayha as she was the one in charge, but knowing full well that Noctis still had to say his piece. There was no point moving on unless everyone got to voice their opinion. Now, if the heretic abstained there’d be an issue, although to be honest Fletcher didn’t overly care; he just had a preference.

The building that sat in front of the group reminded Kane of something straight out of the Lovecraftian books he had loved to read in the old world. The old, dilapidated, Victorian style of the building just screamed that dark cults and gods from beyond had inhabited the dwelling. It sent chills of both excitement and fear up Kane's spine to think about it. It was almost set up too coincidentally; a mist covered entrance on a dark night, vines creeping up the stonework like the very tentacles of Nyarlathotep, the howling of the cold wind against the ancient pipes. It was almost even more poetic if you were to look at the classes of those grouped together. There was an Exorcist (the fluffy-tailed one), a Demonologist (Fletcher), a Priest (Capsule), a Cultist (himself) and a Private Eye (Sayha). Kane decided that he would need to periodically take notes as they ran through the eldritch maze that lay before them, it may just yet become a best-seller. Getting his mind out of the little bubble of his thoughts however, it was nice to see his former mentor again. Nice. Yup. Now he would just need to hope that she wouldn't purposefully throw creatures at him again. He hoped the un-fond memories weren't showing themselves on his face too obviously. Sayha he remembered from a recent group. It was nice that she was jumping straight into managing everyone, although he didn't know if "Make sure nothing gets past the front lanes" was the best instructions to give him. Especially since now he was right behind both the tracker and... The tails. There were THREE. It immediately began bringing back memories of his own dog in the other world. He had owned a pomeranian back then, and he had grown up with her. He remembered how soft the dog's fur was, how he used to cuddle with her, how much he had missed her back when he first found himself in this world. He had always been real good with animals, and often would just get right along with them. Even cats, which he used to be allergic to would just walk up and cuddle with him as he would pet them. But he had a special connection with his dog, his Fluffy, and he did miss her so. In the end he couldn't help himself. He just wanted to remember the feeling. He reached forward, and as gently, softly and kindly as he could just pet the tail that sat in front of his face. " As far as what we should do, I vote for heading in to the grande ol' House of Leaves that lies before us." Noctis suggests that the group should 1: Enter the building

By a slim margin, the party goes into the building. Upon entering the main doors, the party will notice that the corridors are are rather narrow, which will force the party to form up in a formation, which may or may not have been previously decided by the party. Upon walking inside further, the party will then see that the main hallway is cut off by a tree that has grown straight through the building. The upper floors seem to have collapsed already, only parts of the ceiling remaining above them all. The overgrowth is quite obvious, as there is dirt everywhere, and grass growing in all corners. There are vines crawling up the walls everywhere, even inside the building. The tree in the middle of the hallway cannot be removed, no matter how hard the party may try. The path that would lead to the left is blocked off by debris, and a slight grunting can be heard from behind it. It sounded bestial in origin, and there were multiple instances of the noise. One can assume that there are monsters just on the other side, though nobody can tell who or what they are. The path on the right is unblocked, and leads down to a corridor that moves off to the left from there. Along that second corridor, the party will see another path off to the left, the current path being blocked by more rubble, and a small room that looks to be a cleaning closet. The doors have been ripped off and are nowhere to be found. A small crate inside the room sits there, slightly opened. If the party moves down the hallway and turns left from there, the party will see a few large doors. Upon closer inspection, it appears that the door has been locked somehow, and no key is in visible sight. This is the only way to go, so perhaps there is a trick to all of this? How else is the party to advance, aside from this door? Looking at the rubble that they had just passed shows that it is far too thick to clear through in a reliable amount of time, but the debris near the entrance seemed small enough that they could clear through it. Now, you must choose! 1. Search the crate in the supply closet. 2. Look around the area for a key-like object. 3. Go back to the entrance, and attempt to clear away the small amount of debris. 4. Attempt to move the large amount of rubble nearby the locked door. 5. Bash the door down [Difficult]. (GM Roll, number to beat: 60 out of 100.) Alternative: Attempt to pick the door's lock [Simple]. (Requires small knife-like weapon.)[Name] suggests that the group should [b][Number]: [Description][/b] Information: - The Alternative move can be done by any player who fulfills the requirements, but can only be done BY ONE PERSON. This will warrant a GM Roll. - The number to beat will be 25 out of 100. Including Sayha, three people voted to go into the school right away which was the consensus. Sayha remained on high alert as they entered the building. The corridors were narrow so she called for the formation she had explained earlier. As they started walking they came upon a giant tree blocking their way to continue heading straight. Sayha briefly kicked the tree to see how steady it was, and she didn’t see the party finding any way of cutting it down. Turning, there were two more corridors to go down, the left and the right. However, the left tunnel was blocked by rock debris, and Sayha could hear echoes of some sort of monster behind the debris. The corridor to the right was clear of monsters. “Let’s go right,” Sayha said, motioning for the party to head right. On the corridor wall, Sayha used <Mythic Script> to draw an arrow pointed towards where they were going. She wanted to make sure the group would be able to find their way out easily in case things went far south.
After going down the right corridor, it ended up turning left. In that corridor, there was yet another path to the left, but the doors were closed as well as locked when Sayha tried to open them. The path they had been taking was blocked be debris, and on the right was some sort of cleaning closet with the doors being absent. Inside the closet was a partially open crate. Her mind instantly thought of the pet Creepy Crate in a previous game she played when she saw it.
“Well, we have a few options,” Sayha said, turning to the party, “We can check out the creepy crate in the closet but I think it’s a trap. We could look for a key to open the doors or pick the lock or try to break down the door. Or we can try to clean the debris in this hallway or go back and clear the debris back near the entrance. I don’t have anything small enough to pick the lock so I vote we look for the key for the door.”
Sayha suggests that the group should 2]: Look around the area for a key-like object.

Seeing all those faces and hearing how they all seemed to work together was a nice experience, her last group had more or less been doing their own thing and never really much cared about keeping together. It made her happy and anxious at the same time. Anxious because at some point after this they would go their own ways again and Nisha would have to travel alone again, none of her traveling companions having worked out before, she had become somewhat used to it, but none the less... It made her sad. Not that it showed on the outside if not for quiet while the rest were telling of their opinions. Most of them having the same idea as Nisha to enter the building. She had not really a bad feeling about the outside, but it looked so plain and deserted, that it was pretty much a surefire way to get bored in Nisha´s opinion, who liked going straight and toward monsters. It was just not something she would usually do. Just like the soft touch on her tails, which had nerve ends just as her hands or hairs. Even something like that was registered in her brain and not reacting to it was not something she would or could do. With a cute little yelp, she jumped and hid behind the first person in range. That being Sayha, wrapping her tails around her body and holding them in her hands as if she had been burned. Looking at the guilty person. Noctis, someone else she was working with for the first time. She knew that her tails had quite an effect on people and they had been pulled, tread on, brushed, slept in and so much more. But Nisha would never get used to the feeling of someone else just touching them. They were already alien to a human in this body and even though she liked others touching them, that was only after she had prepared herself for it. Glaring at Noctis from behind Sayha, she said pouting, her cheeks puffed up: "Nhnhnhn. Don´t do that so suddenly, I felt as if my heart was gonna explode. Actually, no... Don´t do that at all." Pointing at Noctis while shivering, there was no real anger in her voice, but rather surprised annoyance and those who knew Nisha would have known that she would forget this in the span of a few minutes. Walking backwards after they had decided to go into the school until they were needed to take formation, she hugged her tails to herself and looked even smaller than usual and even more plush than before from how her tails were furrowed, making her look like a very huggable walking furpillow with ears. But as they went further, she turned around and her curiosity won out, making her forget about it right away. Looking in awe at the hallways, reminding her of schools she had heard of. Nisha herself had gone to a private school and it had been much more spacious than this, but she knew about these at least from her friends descriptions and movies. And yet, it was something new she had not expected to see in this game. It was awesome that even now, this game could surprise her. Activating her mythic script, if only to pick up some traces of someone elses writing, she gave a thumbs up and a big smile to Sayha as she drew an arrow into the air with the same skill, adding NSNFC as the initials of her team. As if marking the moon with a flag she could not help grinning. And as they reached the barred area, she began to scurry around, her tails having unfolded again showing her satisfaction by swinging wildly and in tact of her light steps and yet slowing down every time she heard a sound. Ready to react to monsters at the drop of a coin. And with her ears, she was sure she could hear such a thing first, just like the grunts from behind the rabble, she tried for a second or two to listen closer to it by leaning her ear against it, wondering if she could make out something more than just grunts and then walked back to the others. Sayha had kicked the tree, but Nisha feared it would not budge anyway as sturdy and big as it seemed. Nature reclaiming it all in the end, even in a game. But really, that chest in the other room was just too... too much to not open. Her ears twitching as she walked over, careful and hoping not to get into any trap, but none the less, there was not really much around the room, so just searching it could be a waste of time as long as there was something this obvious around. If it was too obvious, she did not know. Having reached it, she crouched down in front of the crate. "I have a small knife if we don´t find the key and if someone wants to try, although I am not the luckiest person, so I would rather not. (ref: runed pocket knife in inventory) Anyone mind if I look in here first? It seems to be the best bet we have in finding the key or something useful I think. We should just try it, even if it is a trap. We should take at least this much of a risk if we hope to advance or we will jump at our own shadows every time anything moves. And since I am the tank, even if it is trapped it should be fine, we can just heal me up." Nisha´s fingers were hovering over the somewhat opened crate, only reason she woudl stop would be if someone vehemently told her not to or she noticed something wrong with it, but her curiosity was at an all time high. Her eyes focused on the crate mostly, but also looking around the dark if she could make out some letters or words around her with her speedreading skill. And still, she knew it was a risk, but one she was ready to take, healing would only take a little since she herself had a spell for it as well. [attr="class","solcap"] Right after Fletcher and Noctis voted (both chose to go inside the building, making it a majority vote along with Sayha), Nisha gave an unexpected yelp. It sounded kind of cute, though it was clear that the Fox was disturbed by something. Given the way she was holding onto her tails, someone was responsible, and that person could only be Noctis. The boy was standing behind Nisha this entire time, and it was he who she was now glowering at. Capsule glanced back at Noctis, an eyebrow arched in disapproval.
Some people just did not have a good sense of self control. The tails looked inviting, but one should know better than to act on those urges. The reaction from Nisha was another reason why one should not pet an unfamiliar pet without permission first. The dog could actually be ill tempered and snap at you. And as far as people went, it should be a given that you do not touch them without their express consent… even if they were fox people. Capsule would have to stick with teasing Shira or Ryker for their foxiness.
The fuss died down as Sayha led the group of misfits into the dilapidated building. Capsule squinted into the narrow corridors beyond. There was no way they would be able to walk abreast in there. This displeased her, as it made her recall a scene or implied one from Watership Down. The rabbits had gotten trapped underground by men, their exit holes caved in, and poison or ferrets sent in to intercept the ones that attempted to flee. Like humans in zombie or disaster movies, the rabbits all piled up at the exits, and of course it was always the dead or immobilized that blocked the way out for the others. This led to the live rabbits frantically tearing through the bodies of the deceased, in a vain hope of escaping to freedom…
Capsule supposed that she and Fletcher would be fine in the back, provided that they were not suddenly ambushed from behind. If, however, they needed to bypass the others to escape… The Enchanter shivered at the very idea. She really wished her and Nisha could have scouted the exterior, first. It would have only take a minute or so, and Capsule could have coerced a local animal or monster into giving her some info on the place. Everyone else was content to rush in blindly, however. If it all got them killed, she would never forgive them.
Silently tut tuting in her head, Capsule allowed the dwarf, Fletcher to go ahead of her. While it would unfortunately give the man a better view of the Heretic’s ass (who knows, maybe he was into that sort of thing), Capsule preferred to be as far back as possible. Fletcher was a Summoner, so he could afford to be closer to where all of the action was. She, on the other hand, was mostly here to support and observe, and add a little damage here and there. "The ants go marching one by one, hoorah," she softly uttered in a monotonous tone.
They reached their first obstacle almost instantly. A tree sat in the main hallway – straight through the floor, in fact. There was dirt and grass sprouting from the tree made hole, some of which had crept throughout the room. Capsule could only guess that nearly a decade or more had passed since the building was last inhabited. Her eyes turned to the walls, which were covered with vines. As for the upper floors… Her eyebrows shot up as she saw the state they were in. Well, this was more of a treehouse than anything now. For some reason, it also reminded her of Jumanji – minus all the wild animals and little monkey boy, of course.
While Sayha kicked the tree, Capsule checked for any other possible routes. The left route was cluttered with heavy debris, behind which she could hear an animalistic grunting. There was more than just one, so she ruled that route out for now. To the right was a clear path that twisted around to another area. That seemed like their safest bet for now. Sayha clearly thought so as well, for she was ordering them to head that way, but not without first marking a wall with an arrow. Nisha decided to leave an acronym of some sort behind: NSNFC. Was that their initials? Good to see that Cap was on the very end, like she was now. Following the suit of the other two girls, Capsule used her Mythic Script skill to leave a simple, glowing thumbprint behind on the wall that led to the entrance. It was her way of leaving a mark for herself, even if it faded before another person could discover it.
They moved on to the clear path, which in turn led them to a dead end of sorts. There was more rubble, this one larger and more of a hassle to clear than the one holding back the monsters. There was a pantry nearby, the door missing. Inside, a partially opened crate rested on the floor. And then there was the door, which was evidently locked. Curious. Very curious, indeed. Sayha wanted to solve their locked door problem by searching for the key, while Nisha just wanted to open the crate, but had a small knife available if anyone was good at picking locks. Capsule definitely had no experience with that whatsoever, so she remained silent.
Moving the rubble would take a while too, if she were the only one to opt for that option. If they were not packed so tightly in this hall like sardines, she could have used her polar bear to knock the debris back in two swipes. "I am going to look around for the key." What else could she feasibly do? From the back of the procession, Capsule backtracked to the main hall to begin her search. After Noctis chimed in, it was decided that they’d head into the building and investigate further. He was thankful that there was an off number of them here. Anything else would’ve potentially left them at a stalemate for any split decisions. When they entered I was clear that progress wasn’t going to be as straightforward as he had hoped, finding that a large tree had grown up through the middle of the main hallways stretching out in front of them. In fact, it seemed as though nature was truly the king here, and plantlife was running rampant all through the building. Snarled roots, twisting vines, moss, you name it; everything was here was at the mercy of the plants. To their immediate left was a wall of debris, faint grunting calling out from the other side; it didn’t sound human, or any other subsect of what you’d refer to as such, but more animalistic. Not exactly the route that Fletcher wanted to take as a first option. It wasn’t the only one though, others could be heard around them, but mostly from the left. Sayha took charge, leading the party right and away from the source of the grunting. Down this corridor they were met with another pile of rubble, significantly larger than the one nearer the main entrance. A closet off to the side had a lone, slightly opened crate inside of it. It didn’t sit right with Fletcher, everything here could be a trap. As he had this internal monologue about the crate, Nisha went up to it and had a closer look. Before he could say anything about such reckoless behaviour, she chimed in with that it was worth a shot even as a potential trap. She was the tank, geared for taking the hits, and if they played it too cautious they’d never get anywhere. Fletcher’s objection was stifled and his attention turned to the door in which they needed a key for. Nisha had mentioned that she had a knife that they could try to use in order to pick the lock; it’d save them time if they managed to get it open through that means, but only by a margin dependant on how far away the key actually was. ”I’ll give opening the door up a try; Nisha, pass us that knife. Shouldn’t be any different from adjusting some braces.”Capsule said that she’d look for the key elsewhere, and backtracked back to the main hall. Fletcher wandered up to the door and had a look; the hole was going to be big enough to have a bit of a play in, but with how old the building was, there was a very good possibility that if he did this wrong, they’d be barred from entry unless they broke the down door with brute force. He’d leave that to the more physically adept of the party if it came to that; he could assist by summoning something, but there was no guarantee that he’d be more help than just staying out of the way. With knife in hand he edged the tip of it into the lock and began trying to unlock it without the proper key. If he were to fail, he could always help move some rubble out of the way; but he’d leave that until he failed to potentially open the door. Kane felt a little bad about his decision. He hadn't actually met any fox-tails yet surprisingly, and he didn't know that the reaction that would be elicited would be what it was. He gave out a small sigh as he realized his mistake, and fell into his spot giving a small apology and stating how it wouldn't happen again. Meanwhile, in the back of his head, he could hear Noctis having a hay-day and theoretically rolling on the ground laughing. You actually did it?!? Oh man, do you have a type or what!Shut it. I just pet her tail. Besides, you're one to talk, hitting on practically every girl I've met so far.Yeah, but at least I don't immediately make them weary of my presence. Why don't you just bugger off, and come back when you've had some actual success then, asshole.Inner dialogue aside, he followed the party into the dilapidated building. Much to his own dismay, the building's interior didn't quite fit his romanticized vision he held for it in his mind. In place of ornate, but dusty interiors it instead had the trappings of a building long overtaken by nature, with an ancient tree having fallen over to block most of the pathway, and many entrances blocked by piles of stone. Beyond one of the pathways he could hear the faint baying of monsters. It was impossible to tell how many, but at least it told him of the danger present. Clutching his grimoire, he prepared mentally for any enemies that might jump out upon them. It was a bit of a relief to his own battle-anxiety to see the rest of the party taking it so lightly however. Nisha was already scrawling their initials in the air like some sort of geocache marker. Capsule and Sayha were already well into the planning and executing phase of planning, taking this whole escapade rather buisness-like in their approach. Fletcher was keeping rather calm and had already gotten to work picklocking the door. Out of all the possibilities that lay before him however, the one that stuck him as the most terrifying was the slightly-ajar crate. It reminded him too much of the mimics from a certain fantasy game that looked like chests, but when opened, sudddenly grew large arms and legs and massive teeth and caused perma-death. He decided that since everyone else seemed pretty set on their decisions he would support them in whatever way he could. (be prepared for if, then statements) The first thing he would do would be to activate his Mana Sense ability, tuning it to Miasma. Sure, he would have to filter through his own interference, but seeing as how he hadn't accumulated any corruption levels it shouldn't be too hard to at least get a reading of the general area and the concentrations of the miasma that the monsters themselves were generated from*. One of his primary focuses would be towards that crate, whether consciously or subconsciously, he just didn't trust it. IF he senses a large concentration of miasma within the chest THEN he uses his turn to cast Miasma Bullet targeting the Chest IF he does not sense a large concentration of Miasma THEN he disregards the chest and proceeds to the next course of action IF Fletcher fails his lockpicking role THEN Noctis/Kane shall use Miasma Bullet to attempt to break the door. Tags: HirosameNotes: Sorry for the set of IF/THEN statements, i just couldn't vote on one single outcome with the options I had. TL;DR if he senses the crate is a creature, he's gonna use his turn to attack it, if not and fletcher fails the roll, he's gonna try and break the door.

To save everybody the trouble, Fletcher has decided to take the chance at picking the lock. While everybody else is doing something, and Noctis is having an inner battle with himself about what he could or should do, Fletcher manages to pick the lock to the door. The party may now progress through the door. Sayha and Capsule: You search the surrounding area, and are unable to find anything key-like. You do happen to find debris and various broken school items, like pencils. Capsule is able to see footprints of small animals, though after having looked at it so quickly, you cannot determine what they are after such a quick look. Nisha: Upon having gone back and searching the crate, you find a small key at the bottom of the crate, which was empty except for that one item. However, since Fletcher had opened the door already using the lockpicking, the key was not needed to advance from this part. As the party is able to move forward, they see that it leads into a courtyard of sorts. Rocks are formed in a specific way, as though a barrier had been made from the stone and debris, preventing access to the other side of the courtyard. The party is able to walk through and advance through to the north-side. Using the key that Nisha had found, the party is able to unlock the door from there. Beyond that door leads to another set of corridors, which lead both left and right. The party can see another door room down both of the corridors, and there are doors leading to both of them. If the party goes and walks up to the door down the righthand corridor, they will find that it is locked, and the key cannot be used to open it. The lock seems busted, though the door is old. Could it be broken down? The corridor to the left will lead the party down to another door, which can be easily opened, to reveal the science department's store room. Inside are a few beakers, test tubes, all empty, and have nothing important written on them. It seems to be an auxiliary storeroom, to hold classroom supplies, upon further investigation. There is another crate inside this room, set aside from everything else. If one goes further down the hall they will noticed a few grunting monsters, in a small group, eating some food in the middle of the hallway. It is too dark to discern what they are, but given the grunting and shadows, assume that they are quad-pedal beats. There is no other way past them. Now, you must choose! 1. Search the crate in the storeroom. 2. Attack the monsters. 3. Attempt to break down the door in the right corridor. (GM Roll, 20 out of 100.) 4. Investigate the other side of the room in the right corridor. Alternative (Capsule Only): Investigate the footprints from before. This will split the party up, proceed with caution.[Name] suggests that the group should [b][Number]: [Description][/b] Please choose ONE option to go with.

Sayha and Capsule both decided to look around to see if they were able to locate a key, but they were unsuccessful. When Sayha returned back to where they group had stopped, she saw that Fletcher had been able to pick the lock which meant they could proceed forward. Also during that time, Nisha seemed to be able to find the key which had been in the crate that Sayha thought had been a trap. Sayha and the others walked through the door which lead to some sort of outside courtyard. The courtyard though was really eerie to Sayha. The rocks around the courtyard per placed methodically and not random. It was like they were forming a wall to cut off part of the courtyard which made Sayha believe that they were not the first people to set foot there.
On the northern part of the courtyard, it wasn’t blocked off by rocks, but there was a door. It was initially locked, but the key Nisha had found unlocked the door. Through the door was yet another split corridor to either the left or right. Both corridors had doors at the end of them. Sayha first checked the right door, but it was locked and the locked looked mangled. She figured the only way to get through would be to break down the door.
Sayha then went to the other door and opened with ease. Inside the room, it was what Sayha guessed to be a science room as there were beakers and test tubes scatter throughout the room. Off to the side, there was yet another crate inside the room. Down through another corridor that the room opened too Sayha felt uneasy. She activated <Hearing Aptitude> and could hear some sort of beasts.
“Down the hallway,” Sayha said quietly, “There are some beasts, but I can’t make out what kind they are.” She turned off <Hearing Aptitude> and turned to the rest of the party. “I think we should take care of the monsters first so we can check out the room more carefully.”
Sayha suggests that the group should 2:Attack the monsters.

A few skilled waves of her hand later, she held the knife in her hand and looked at it and the memories that were connected with it for a moment. Making her wonder if she would ever see her research partner and teh fluffy thing she had had with her back then again. Sighing, she held it out to her back for the dwarf to take it, hoping he did not break it, she still wanted to use it for further research after all. At least to get a good idea how they worked in sync with each other and then build on it. But really, it was nice to know that so far apparently no one else had come up with a hybrid weapon like this. "Here you go Fletcher. Good luck." Nisha said and felt it leaving her hand and move. Ah, well, there was not really time to worry about it, she just hoped the dwarf would not break the lock. But then again, she had more confidence in all the other people than herself, so there was no problem with this at all. Her mind focused back on the thing at hand, already thinking the wildest things like that it could be a monster or a treasure of sorts, maybe even a map? A map would be nice and definitely helpful. Also, if games were any indicator, as this was one, it would be easier to see where the real treasure was waiting. Hearing no denial or rebuke to her actions, Nisha basically crawled into the crate, only her ears and tails sticking out and twitching and shivering from time to time, looking around to find what was in there, seeing that the result was pretty lonely as she surfaced. A single key was all the useful stuff she could find. her head surfacing again, twitching ears first, she looked over the crates frame at the other people and said: "Found a key." With a big smile, just because she was disappointed did not mean she did not see the usefulness, although it seemed less useful as she heard the door open and fletcher being triumphant, just as Nisha had thought. Ah, well, maybe it would fit another keyhole as well or would be useful when someone would close the door again behind them. Lockpicking it on the way out could be a problem if a boss was running after them or something. Getting out of the crate, she dusted herself off. getting her knife back from fletcher and letting it vanish back into her inventory, she quickly looked over her quickswap options and saw it was still bow and katana with the sword being chosen as her weapon right now. Seemed about right. Nisha nodded toward the dwarf with a smile. "Good work Fletcher. I know that if I had done that it would have broken off or something. My luck with things like that is really the worst, once we have a break I could tell you a story." Chuckling, she walked through the door and found just another door, where her key fit indeed. "Hmm, is this normal for schools to have so many locked rooms? Just wondering, never really been to one such as this." Although she tried to sound serious, her curiosity was displayed in her incessantly fluffy wagging tails. Ah, now that she was here she thought about how it would have been to be in such a school, but then again, maybe she could still have that if she got together with Vylbrand, although it would be more teaching than being a student. But it also meant more open doors for her. Grinning, she found yet more doors that seemed to be locked. This was getting annoying, but since there seemed to be multiple doors, she wondered if she... maybe could? Ah, her finger were nervously twitching over her weapon, as she said: "Uhm, I always wanted to try out this skill, so don´t mind me, it should work. If not I am all for taking care of the monsters first too." She said and pulled out her sword, standing in front of the locked door, she had also noticed the monsters with her enhanced hearing and was aware of them, but they were at the other side and as long as they would not pull too much aggro they should be fine. And even if so, the front of the group was just one Kabutowari or how she called it, quick slash away, so if the monster would start to move, she would strike at the first right away with the quick charge that activated it that would be boosted even more by her accessoires extra movement speed, drawing attention just as she was supposed to by having first blood. But first she would try something else. It would just take half a second and if she would see something moving after she cut through the door she would just add a Shunsen to give them time to think a few seconds amd to get ready. Also, she would go up to chain three, opening the way up for her devastating attacks. And so, she slashed at the door with a deeply red glowing blade, executing the utility skill of Zantetsuken which could cut easily through most things non living, hopefully the door too. "Banzai!" She mumbled to herself, having too much fun finally trying out this skill. Not having had any chance before since she usually avoided enclosed areas, being too much of an outside person since she had gotten in this body. Her sleeping habbit of sleeping on top of trees speaking leaps and bounds about that. [attr="class","solcap"] At first, Capsule was disappointed to see that her search had been for naught. Aside from the obnoxious amount of debris, all she saw at first was junk like broken pencils, torn notebooks, and an eraser or two. It made her wonder about the state of the building before the severe deterioration. Also, why was it closed? Did it get overrun with monsters, and Landers, being too busy with their everyday life to worry about leveling or beating up monsters, simply surrendered the establishment? That was quite possible. Without assistance from Adventurers, the Landers were often screwed over rather easily on their own.
Hearing Aptitude guaranteed that she would not be left behind the party. It was not very loud, but that was the unmistakable sound of a door being unlocked (or picked, in this situation). That meant that Weaver was successful, and that they could advance. Hands in her pockets, Capsule started to turn away -- and then her eye landed upon something interesting. They were uh… footprints. The small footprints of an animal, specifically.
Capsule glanced in the direction of the party, then back to the footprints. Sticking with the rest of the party would be the responsible and safe thing to do, and this Enchanter was all about safety. At least for herself. But she could not recall seeing a set of footprints when they entered the building, and the prints here seemed fresh, though she could not say just how. Sure, she could dismiss them and trot off to catch up with the others, but what if such an oversight came back to bite them in the ass later? As the person guarding the rear, she would be the first one attacked if a monster or animal were to sneak up behind them. Then again, she was an Animal Trainer. She should be able to talk them down in either situation. Considering that, the odds should be stacked in her favor, correct? And she could always run to the others or call out for help.
After a moment of contemplation, Capsule opted to split the party. On the wall of the hall that led to the others, she left a very brief message of what she was doing in Mythic Script. It was just a precaution, on the off chance that there was some foul play involved. With that done, she went back to examining and following the tracks, to wherever they may lead. Peace, love and bacon grease. [Capsule] is taking the alternate route [Alternative (Capsule Only)]: [Investigate the footprints from before. It was simple. It was easy. With dagger in hand, Fletcher inhaled deep through his nose before breathing out quietly through his mouth. It’d been a while since he’d been in the operating theatre, but this would be a cakewalk. All his life he’d been tinkering with machinery and other small things from when he worked on a farm to his days in college messing around with cars, and then in dental school where he had to be precise on small objects under different conditions. This was no different; not necessarily the best tool for the job, but it would do. Carefully, Fletcher dipped the tip of the dagger into the lock and started to gingerly tease the pins holding the lock in place. He didn’t have a mirror, nor near enough light to do this properly, and he was fairly certain that one needed to have a secondary implement when picking locks, but this was going just fine.
Click. Fletcher felt something give and the dagger slipped just a little further in, but it didn’t sound like anything snapping. The dwarf carefully brought his free hand up to try the door, supporting the dagger as he did so just in case it needed to move. With ease the door opened, and the path forward was there for them to take. Wandering out behind the door, the party found themselves in a courtyard, or what was left of one. It was divided in half by what could only be described as a man-made wall of rock, making their immediate area all they had to work with. On the northern side of the courtyard there was a door which Nisha opened with a key; perhaps she’d found it in the crate while he was busy? It didn’t really matter where the key had come from, as without it they’d need to figure out another way past, which would’ve been a call for the dagger again, but Fletcher wasn’t sure if his sudden aptitude for picking locks was an actual talent or a stroke of pure luck.
Moving forward from there, they found themselves before more corridors. It was another choice; either right or left. A bunch of people headed right to assess the door, finding that it was locked or unable to give them entry forward. When they returned, Fletcher tagged along for the adventure down the left hand corridor. The door was unlocked and what awaited for them on the other side seemed to be some kind of laboratory storeroom. He scanned the shelves for anything useful but came up short, seeing another crate and deciding to leave it well enough alone, convinced it was a trap. Sayha turned to those present and voiced her opinion, to which Fletcher was agreeable to. ”While I agree, we can’t just go charging down the hallway without seeing what we’re up against.” Fletcher rummaged in his satchel and pulled out his flashlight. He’d made it himself and had brought it along to a few expeditions so far, making his investment into the parts well worth it; granted, it was probably in need of replacement given its poor mana efficiency. Switching it on and making sure that the beam was going to be strong enough to see down the corridor well enough for them to see, Fletcher nodded to Sayha before shining the light down the hall to get a better look at these monsters that were grunting in the dark.
As he did this, his other hand was already twitching in anticipation, calling Carbuncle to his side just in case Sayha tried to jump in first. An extra set of paws to both assist in healing and dealing with these monsters was going to be helpful and only took a second to complete the summoning rites. Whatever creatures they were about to uncover down this corridor were bound to be a clue as to what was going on; at least that’s what he hoped.

By the time Kain had finished arguing with Noctis, the group had already managed to open the door. Great, he mumbled in his head at Noctis, Now I just look like a lazy arse-hole. He could feel Noctis mentally shrug in the far corners of his mind, not seeming to care. He made his way forward with a small sigh as the group proceeded onwards through the corridors. He had noticed that while the others proceeded, Capsule was nowhere to be found. He considered contacting her on telepathy, but decided to hold off. He knew his former teacher enough to know she'd never truly be alone, what with her forest friends always a beck and call away, and decided he would hold off. She could definitely hold her own, and he would just give her a call if they found anything of note. Meanwhile at the area at hand, the group made their way through a ruined courtyard to another split pathway. To the left there was a lab and a further corridor, to their right, another room. While Fletcher and Sayha went left to explore the lab further, Nisha had decided to run off to the right. It would be a bad idea to leave two members of the group by themselves, and he may have not had the best first impression with Nisha, but he figured someone had better go with her. He quickly walked up behind Fletcher and placed a hand quickly on his shoulder, triggering the skill Eye for an Eye, placing its sigil on Fletcher's forehead. The dwarf's short hairstyle would help him see anything that the dwarf might run into, should they need to get the information across quickly. He followed the foxtail towards the right. She seemed to be rather focused on moving forward, and seemed to run straight up to the ruined door, seemingly inspecting it for a way through. While she dealt with that, Kain decided he would look around for anything of use within the room, whether it be lore or some sort of tool that might be useful later. Kane votes 4. Investigate the other side of the room in the right corridor. tags: Hirosame
