Ame sat down in the middle of the flower fields of Savill Grove. The sun had just peeked up from the vast fields and was making it's way up into the sky. She pushed her legs outwards and swung her feet slightly, hitting them off of one another as she sighed happily. There was nothing that she loved more than the light breeze blowing her hair about softly and the smell of the first morning dew, gliding along like the wind and mixing with the smell of flowers. She sighed and let out a stretch. This game, this new life she had been thrown into, this was the life she dreamed about. Playing those other RPG games had been fun, but it was nothing like actually living in one. The feel of this world was so unlike the other and she felt like she could fit in here. She did fit in here, having met so many amazing people and finally having some friends, actual true friends. She always felt blessed when they welcomed her with open arms.
After a long, long while, she looked up to the sun. It was almost noon by her prediction and she knew she couldn't just lay her for an eternity, though she truly wished she could. She sighed softly as she pushed herself off of the ground and wiped off any loose pieces of grass or dirt that had clung to her. She nodded as she finished and, using her hand as a visor, looked out into the field. She needed to grind some monsters. She knew that some sort of event or mission had to pop up soon and she wouldn't be the one to be caught under leveled. She was that kind of player. The one who fought to tower over the levels of the monsters she would face. She was a grinder and a damn good one at that. As she saw a few young boars in the distance, she smirked and equipped her staff. Now, it was go time! - Words -340- Tags -Stalwart- Skills Used ---- Notes -I'm lowering my level to 10 just so I'm not overpowering you too much lol Coded By Saber of L33T T3@M Modified by KittyGrey

Alan desperately needed experience - there was no two ways about it. And, given his level and range of skills - or lack thereof - he wasn't going to make a very reliable tank. Part offers were thin on the ground at best, and they usually went to people with avatars that actually resembled what most people would expect a tank to look like. Still, he did not let this deter him. Alan was too determined to stop after coming out to the Savill Flower Grove. Whether it was determination or sheer bullheadedness remained to be seen, however.
A young boar looked at the armoured figure before him briefly, before snorting and going back to poking at the floor with its snout. Not that it being aggressive would do much good against someone aiming to skewer it like so many shihskebabs, but even so, Alan found it odd that they never even bothered to put up a fight until someone was hacking away at them.
Alan lunged forward, his spear piercing the young swine's hide. It was a cheap, pathetic excuse for a spear, to be sure - but the impact still had quite a satisfying feel to it. Before the boar could react, Alan got ready to greet its face with a wall of (cheaply-made) metal. "Shield Smash!"
He figured that the boar was probably readying something the moment it was attacked - and that interrupting it would be the best course of action. A fairly rudimentary way of thinking, but Alan felt it better than just whacking it until it died, or he did.

Ame readied her staff and raced towards the first boar. She always felt bad about killing them, but she knew that they respawned after a time with no recollection of what had happened to them. She shifted her feet and brought her staff right atop the back of the boar. It was a level three so it wouldn't be too hard for her to take care of, as long as the other two, who's levels were three and five, kept their distance. The boar let out a squeal and turned towards her. She backed up a few paces and lifted her staff after a slight swinging motion and called out, "Miracle Mine!" A small white aura appeared on the ground and Ame backed up a little more, coaxing the boar to head straight for her. She smirked as she watch it kick back it's two back legs, getting ready to charge. As it ran, unaware of what it was running into, the aura exploded and sent the boar flying as it squealed. She nodded and headed for it.
As she came to where the boar was, she found it laying on it's side and instantly went in for an all out attack. She swung her staff, hitting it multiple times before it came to it's feet. She took one last swing, holding her staff back to charge it and hit it hard with a critical hit. She watched it dissipate into a sparkle and frowned, lightly bowing her head. "I'm truly sorry." She stretched out her shoulders and saw that the two boars she had been avoiding, were running in the other direction. She felt her head tilt to the side in confusion and shook her head, picking up her feet and running towards them. It was strange that the squeal hadn't caught their attention, but that usually meant that someone was drawing more aggro than herself. She kept running until she came upon a man fighting off a boar. "Incoming!" She called out a warning to him and kept chase. She let out a long breath as she stopped before the two boars, who were getting ready to charge.
"I'll take the level five. You handle the level three!" She scanned the bar above his head, noting the icon of a guardian, his name Stalwart and his level being one. She turned her gaze from his information and gripped her staff in her hands, charging towards the level five young boar. She needed to draw it's aggro towards her so she ran up, and much like the one she had killed before, hit it's behind with it's staff. She had to hit it again before it finally turned towards her, huffing. She eyed it down and it did to her, but se only backed up when it began kicking it's hind feet. Then she knew it was about to charge. She gripped her staff harder and swept it in a left to right motion, then holding it above her head. "Martyr Spear!" A giant glowing, golden spear appeared above her head, manifested by mana. As the boar began it's sprint, she brought the base of her staff to the earth and pushed it outwards towards the boar. The spear soared towards it, and struck it, pinning it for a moment. The move brought it's health down by a quarter. She took a deep breath and prepared her next strategy. - Words -570- Tags -Stalwart- Skills Used -[Miracle Mine] [Martyr Spear]- Notes ---- Coded By Saber of L33T T3@M Modified by KittyGrey

Even at a level as low as his, the young boars couldn't do much more than chip damage - especially through his shield. It was actually little pathetic to see them attempt to break down the wall of wood and metal. Granted, it was an incredibly flimsy wall of wood and metal - and even then, calling it a 'wall' was being incredibly generous. Frankly, it barely constituted a fence. Even so, the boars had the numerical advantage, and would probably be able to attack him when his shield was down. They wouldn't do much damage, but neither could he, and it didn't take a genius to see that the boars' damage output would trump his easily. All Alan could do was brace himself, and lash out whenever he had the chance. Fortunately for him, his spear let him attack quickly and maintain a certain distance - even if his plate armour kept him from doing either particularly effectively. Block, dodge, move backwards, repeat ad infinitum. Or until he reached a point where one of the boars couldn't sneak up on him from behind. A sensible man would have questioned the benefits of backing oneself into a corner, but a sensible man would also have not gotten into a fight with such a slim chance of anything more than a pyrrhic victory. The sudden appearance of a Cleric was a godsend for Alan. And a level ten one at that. When he got the order, he wasted no time in affirming his understanding of it, and charged forwards to meet the lower-levelled hog head-on. "Hammer... Beat!" Boars were not known for their exception dodging ability, and this boar was no different. Despite the obvious tell, it was unable to dodge the shield crashing down upon it, followed up by Alan attempting to turn it into the porcine equivalent of Swiss cheese. He had to admit, it was a little strange. Guardians were supposed to draw in attacks and do all the heavy lifting while a Cleric kept the heat off of themselves, not the other way around. Strange as it was, however, Alan had little choice but to just go with whatever the stranger in pink was telling him to do. He had difficulty making a shopping list, so planning anything in the heat of battle was best not left to him. Her tactic seemed to be working, though. While his HP was declining, it was only doing so at a manageable rate, while the boar was... Well, the boar was beginning to seem more like a bacon kebab at that point. There was a problem, however. Alan had to make sure that the boar wouldn't run off and attack his new Cleric friend for whatever reason the AI decided the boar should have. And to do that, he could lure it backwards with him, and use Anchor Howl to trap it there. But doing so could possibly leave him out of range of her spells. He could last against the one boar, but even so, he knew there to be no more fickle a mistress than chance itself. ----- WORDS IN POST: 519 WORDS IN THREAD: 789 kittygrey

Ame stepped back, quickly observing the battlefield. She flicked her eyes to Stalwart's health and nearly cursed. It wasn't that he was extremely low, but if the boar's drew a battle cry and others came running, or worse, mama or papa, he would quickly die. She huffed slightly and looked back towards the boar. She bit her lip, it's health only a mere quarter gone, her's nearly full. She shook her head and began to run towards Stalwart, the young level five boar on her feet. She prayed that the level three didn't feel her coming, but even if they did- She cut herself off and as soon as she was in a semi close range, she called out to Stalwart. "Use Anchor Howl to draw them away! I'll heal you!" She flicked her eyes to her cooldowns and notice that Miracle mine was ready to go. She stopped in front of the level three boar, the level five coming up fast and swished her staff and then held it straight up. "Miracle Mine!" Once it was cast, she swiveled around the level three boar and ran behind Stalwart, breathing hard.
Once she caught her breath, she went through her skills in her head. Once she had made her findings, she began to cast. She dropped the base of her staff the ground and used one hand to support it. She pointed a finger towards Stalwart and cast, "Healing Light!" A hexagram shape formed, shooting towards the back of Stalwart. His health bar rose to nearly full, but for safe measures and gripped her staff with both hands again and, base still on the ground, pointed it towards him. "Reactive Heal!" This spell would cause an orange glow to appear around him and a soft warmth to touch his skin. The spell would be triggered upon either of the boars causing him damage. With either of the boar's attacks, he would more than likely rise to full health. She glanced to her cooldown times afterwards. She still had 10 seconds to go for martyr spear, but as soon as she could use it, she would kill the level three boar, if he hadn't already. "We need to get rid of these boars before they can call for help." She prayed that they would make it in time. She was running out of mana. Two more healing spells and a martyr spear was all she had left, and if this tactic didn't work, and she didn't have time to recharge her mana before the next fight began, they could be in big trouble. - Words -432- Tags -Stalwart- Skills Used -[Miracle Mine] [Healing light] [Reactive Heal]- Notes ---- Coded By Saber of L33T T3@M Modified by KittyGrey

True to his name and nature, Stalwart stood his ground against the boar, keeping it bouncing off of his shield while he ran it through. It wasn't doing much, but even chip damage could build up over time, and he was certainly feeling the extent of it. He couldn't help but feel a little pathetic about it all. He was a Guardian, the tank of the Elder Tale world. He was supposed to be able to take hits from something as low-levelled as a boar and shrug them off without even flinching. Instead, he was relying on a Cleric to draw aggro, do DPS, and heal him.
Alan shook his head, clearing the thoughts from his mind. He knew it did no good to think such things in the midst of battle. There would be time for it after the fight. Even if Ame was practically carrying him through the entire fight, though, he took some small comfort in knowing that there was one thing that he could do to help her. "Oi! Eyes on me, Porky!" At even the slightest sign of the boar wanting to turn around and run, call for help, or do anything other than focus on the Guardian in front of it, Alan caught drew its aggro. He'd keep it focussed on him, no matter what.
Alan reacted to his order without hesitation. There was no time for it. "Anchor... Howl!" The boars were trapped, however briefly. But Alan had to seal the deal to keep them by him. Hammer Beat would be ready in a matter of seconds, but even with the low cost his moves, his mana pool was drying up. He needed to use whatever he had left wisely- he refused to put yet more weight on Ame's shoulders. And so he waited, holding his shield at jsut the right angle, until finally... "Shield Smash!"
The sound of metal crashing into the boar's face as it charged into him was satisfying like nothing else could be. The speed of the boar charging at him, combined with the force and angle of the shield, flung the future bacon sandwich backwards, giving the two players a few (much-needed) seconds of breathing space. He had no idea if that was enough to draw aggro to him and him alone, but with any luck, he wouldn't have to keep using any more skills. His mana was dropping fast, and without the aid of a potion to top it off, he'd be in hot water if Ame did any more to draw attention to herself.
"Understood! I'll try and keep them on me!" In an attempt to stop the level three boar dead in its tracks, Alan drove his spear through its skull and into the floor. And it wored - sort of. The boar was slowed, but undeterred. It charged the moment it was released, straight into Alan's shield. The other wouldn't be too far behind it. "I swear, I'm going to eat so much bacon once this is over..." he muttered, pushing his shield - and the boar - backwards. He couldn't afford to use Shield Smash, but just pushing it seemed to have the effect he needed.

The level five boar ran straight, as Ame had planned and just before it met the level three beast in front of it, an explosion of white burst from the ground. She watched it's health and the health of the level three go down slightly. It wasn't much, but it was something. She flicked her eyes to her mana. She would have enough for two martyr spears if she didn't have to heal, but if she used her lower costing spell, once her first Martyr Spear went off, her mana should have regenerated enough to cast a second one. She made the calculations in her head and nodded. It would certainly work, but it was a waiting game at this point. She glanced over to her cooldown time and nodded. She could use it now, especially with anchor howl activated, but wasting it on the almost dead level three would probably cause more trouble with the level five, but it would also be optimal to get down to one or the other. She ran over each different situation in her head and finally blew out a breath.
She watched Stalwart use his shield smash, and then stab his spear straight through the boars head. It was so close to being dead now that she shook her head. "I've got to hit the level five!" The words were meant for herself more than Stalwart but she was heated in the moment. She had to make the move now that Martyr Spear was ready and he had their eyes set on him. She blew out a breath and gripped her staff. She could bring the level five down to half of his health, and if she could regain enough mana, she could bring him down to a quarter. She prayed that Stalwart had enough mana to be able to kill the level three and then finish off the level five. It was a risk she had to take at that moment, so she pushed the end of her staff into the dirt and watched from her peripherals as the spear formed. She looked to Stalwart, who was pushing the level three away and then looked back to the level five. She pushed her staff forward and the spear flew. It pierced through the boars head and she backed away from the scene as to hopefully not draw it's aggro to her.
She breathed as she watched the scene unfold. Stalwart was still pushing back the level three and the level five had turned it's attention back to him, even after taking so much damage from her Martyr Spear. She took a few steps forward and looked to Stalwart's health. Upon the boar charging his shield, he had gained back the rest of his health with reactive heal. He would last a while, which was good since she could hold off on using any mana for now. She would let it build as her Martyr Spear cooled down, but still keep an eye on Stalwart's health. With the level five boar about to charge and his shield already covering the level three, he might need a heal afterwards. She would wait patiently, knowing herself enough to know that her game plan was in motion and hopefully would continue to run smoothly.

kittygrey--- The level five boar was charging, and the level three boar was forcing itself against his shield - as if it actually stood a chance of breaking through. Were he using a lighter shield, he could have pushed the weaker boar away from himself and used Shield Smash to put the other one out of commission long enough for him to take a more advantageous position. However, with his great shield being as large and clumsy as it was, he'd only leave himself vulnerable to both mobs. He needed to do something - anything - to keep the two boars at bay. Alan grimaced, and braced himself. Chances were, he was going to get hurt, even if what he did worked. Using the weight of his body to keep the shield planted on the ground and the level three boar away from Ame, his spear shot out to pierce the other. Sometimes, he wondered whether he should have picked up something like a mace or a sword - something easier to wield, something with a more diverse range of moves. But the sheer range of the spear proved invaluable, even if its stopping power was nothing to write home about. The boar stopped for only a moment, but that was enough. He forced his shield to face it, and with an almighty cry, he pushed the boar once again with every iota of strength he had. "Shield... SMASH!" A wall of metal smashed into the boar, putting distance between it and Alan. It wasn't much, but it was all he needed. If he was correct, it was just enough time to take down the level three boar. Its health was low enough for him to finish off, even without any significant amount of mana left - the only problem was the number of boars. He grimaced. The boar had scored a direct hit to his side while he'd been busy with the other one. But that was its undoing. Alan roared, and plunged his spear clean through the boar's head, over and over, practically raining blows down on it. Again and again, he attacked the boar, until all that remained of its health was a sliver of pixels. Alan rushed the boar once more, and finished it off with no small degree of pleasure. Now he could focus on the main attraction - which, as it happened, was again coming straight for him. His health had been drained by the slugging match, but not by too much. Ame could let her mana recover for a little while longer without putting him in any significant danger. If he played defensively, anyway. The shield would take the brunt of the damage, and a quick poke with his spear could whittle away at the boar's health, but doing that was slow going. There was no telling what could happen in the meantime, and there was no doubt that Stalwart wouldn't last against anything stronger that what he was facing now. He looked back to Ame, an expectant expression across his face. --- WORDS IN POST: 508 WORDS IN THREAD: 1830

Ame watched the guardian closely. When she was forced to the background by whatever situation would put her there, she liked to watch how other Adventurers moved. It was almost like you could get to know someone by the way that they held up in battle. Stalwart, for instance, was a pusher. He wasn't the type to back down from a fight, but if it was necessary, he probably would. He was a defensive creature, perhaps even in a simple chat, but when it came to fighting, he knew how to keep his guard up. She saw confidence, yet she could tell that he was a novice and not because of his level. She knew that once he gained a few new skills, he would get the hang of it, but she had been the same way with her own fighting skills when she had first started. She hadn't been quite as confident as he was now when she had first been tossed into this game world.
As he smashed his spear into the beast with ferocity, she couldn't help but smirk. He didn't really look like the normal guardian build, at least, not like the ones she had met, but he had the perfect personality for it. She felt proud to be fighting alongside of him. Once the boar dissipated into the glittering sparkles, she decided it was time to cheer him on a little. This was one of the most important roles of a support class, gaining morale. "Great work Stalwart! You'll be one of the best, I hope you know!" Her voice was delightful and as he looked back at her, she would have an enormous smile on her face, her trademark, to be exact. She nodded at his gaze, knowing that he was looking to be healed. She took her staff in one hand and focused her mana into the other. She pointed it straight at Stalwart and called out softly, "Healing Light!" The hexagon would appear again and heal Stalwart so that his health bar was nearly full. She knew the boar would take more damage from him than the other had as it was a stronger level, so for a safe measure, she gripped her staff in both hands and with a swish and a raise, she would call out, "Reactive Heal!" He would, again, feel the warmth of the spell as a soft glow appeared around him. Once the boar struck, he would be healed again.
She glanced to her cooldown bars and bit her lip. She still had a bit to go for her Martyr Spear, but she should have just enough mana to cast one more healing light and the Martyr Spear. If he didn't take too much damage, she could make it so that he could kill the boar like he had with the last, but her martyr spear had to be ready to go before too much of his health went. There was no way she would be able to cast resurrect, so keeping him alive was the main priority at this point. She looked to the boars health bar. It was showing as about half way dead. She felt her head nod as she thought that they could do this, they had to! She wasn't about to let her, or her comrade die by a few pesky boars. She sat back, watching the guardian once again, fascinated by his skill. She wondered if he had been a normal RPG player before this, what did they call it? Calamity, had started. Perhaps she could ask once, and only once the battle was over.

kittygrey--- Ame wouldn't see his face - Alan was too busy keeping himself focussed on the boar in front of him. But were she able to, she would see determination unlike that of any other man's. Whether she knew it or not, her words had gotten through to him. He wasn't just persevering - he was dead set on taking the boar down. With a power even he didn't think he was able to muster, Alan pushed forwards, somehow matching the boar's strength without having to dig his heels in and plant his shield. As he pushed, the Wolf Tail in him began to show. Thickened hair and golden eyes became prominent on him, and his grin of grim determination grew wider with every passing second. He shunted his shield into the boar, alternating between the brute force of his shield impacting it and the precise - almost surgical - strikes of his spear. What he lacked in rapidity, he made up for in sheer grit and power. Guardians weren't known for their damage output, but he'd tackle the boar to the ground with his bare hands before he let it past him. "Come on, then! Have a go if you think you're hard enough!" Some would argue that Alan didn't have the time to be shouting taunts at the boar. He would argue that those people had no sense of fun, and no idea what bravado was. Besides, he'd not seen any evidence against it increasing aggro against him. Not that there was any evidence for it, but Alan wasn't one to sweat the details if he had no need to. Besides, it made him feel better - it wasn't as if he needed anything more. Ame's healing kept his health topped off. However, he was already at a a decent amount of health - enough for him to push, instead of dig in. So he did the only thing he could think of to end the fight as quickly as possible. He pushed harder. It'd take a little while before his mana regenerated enough to use Shield Smash and have enough left over for the use of a technique in an emergency, but he didn't need them to keep the boar back. Just stab, block, stab, block, as aggressively as he could. --- WORDS IN POST: 383 WORDS IN THREAD: 2213

Ame kept her eyes glued to the battle, though mostly all she could see was Stalwart's back or a small glimpse of the boar as it rampaged about. She took a few side steps to be able to see their interactions better and once she was happy with where she stood, she quickly glanced to her cooldown bar and then her mana. She let out a breath through her nose, signifying her annoyance with her own mana. She couldn't wait to level up even more so that only the cooldown times would be the issue. She hated not having an extensive amount of mana, but there wasn't anything she could do other than level up to the highest point. She truly couldn't wait to be among the best and that was what she constantly strove for.
She couldn't help but let out a small giggle, one that probably wouldn't be heard, at Stalwart's taunt. She found it to be rather charming and even seemed familiar. She had once been scolded for taunting, much like he had, not that she knew that or anything. Her trainer had told her to keep focus on the battle and not on angering the beasts. Though it didn't draw aggro, she had been using the skill, Tongue of Nature so that beast she had been facing could understand her. He was not a happy beast after she had called him a mean old jerk. Her words had caused him to go berserk. She knew not to use that skill unless she was talking to befriended beasts or pets of others, including her own two. Her thoughts turned back to the battle, however, once she saw her cooldown disappear in her peripherals.
"I'm going to bring it's health down with my last bit of mana. It should bring it down to just under the quarter way!" She called out to him before she hit her staff to the ground. The spear rose above her head and she focused on the boars head. She didn't think Stalwart would need to be healed again, though if he did and she didn't have enough mana to do so, she would force him to switch her places since she had plenty of health left, a full bar in fact. It more than likely wasn't going to need to happen that way, but at least she had thought about the outcome and was prepared if it did happen. With that thought, she pushed her staff forward and watched as the glowing spear jolted from her head and struck the boars temple. She watched it's health diminish and smirked. The guardian should be able to finish it with a few good blows. It would be over soon.
