Parchment Paper
Material Required: Material Fee (5 Gold x Item Level)
Posts Required: 1
Requirement: Level 1 Scribe
Decent quality paper brought up by Scribe Papyrus by taking old pieces of paper, soaking them together, then merging the fibers together to create a paper that doesn't tear quite as easily. Its quality depends on the level of the materials used to make it, but even still, it's just about as durable as a thin piece of paper.
Why did he take this subclass again? Bumly vaguely remembers something about wanting to roleplay as a Bard travelling and writing down songs and stories he heard. "Role playing." That phrase sounded so odd now that it was all real.
Regardless of whether Bumly would switch his subclass or not, he had never even tried to be a scribe. This would be his first attempt at anything.
He had gone to town and spent the 5 gold on the paper needed to make some parchment paper. He wasn't sure exactly what he was going to be using it for, but he knew that he would never be a good scribe if he didn't start somewhere, and parchment paper was useful in a lot of later crafting recipes. It was a good idea to make some now just to have.
He had been told that not using your menu and simply performing the skill would result in a better quality product. That made some intuitive sense to Bumly. Working with your hands was better than letting whatever was left of the game do it. And so Bumly had a shallow pan filled with cool water in front of him. He briefly submerged the papers one by one. Next, he placed the papers on top of each other.
Wait, he needed a better way of putting pressure on the papers, so that the fibers would merge.
Thinking quickly, Bumly jumped on the table and sat on the pile of wet paper. He winced slightly at the wetness but thought about the goal. He needed to do this right. Wait, why didn't I just us a large book or something? He suddenly thought, feeling very foolish and a little damp.
Bumly sat there, motionless for a few moments before finally getting up and inspecting his creation. Sure enough, sitting there on the table was a singular piece of parchment paper, slightly more fine looking than the ordinary paper that made it up.
It was just some paperwork, but Bumly couldn't help but feel proud over his creation.
