I GET ALONG WITH THE VOICES INSIDE OF MY HEAD
It was big news around the town, some new NPCs had arrived from seemingly nowhere and were asking any willing adventurers for assistance. It was no surprise that a large number of people flocked to them almost immediately. Weegee watched from a nearby rooftop, waiting patiently for the crowds to thin so that he might speak with them as well. Hour after hour passed and the day was nearly done as the robed figure began to prepare to leave. Weegee finally was able to leap down from his perch and approach the robed figure, rubbing the back of his slightly.
"Please pardon my late arrival, I had been waiting for the... correct time to approach. I know not if you noticed my, location before hand, but sadly I was unable to actually hear your speech to the masses. If of course you feel up to it, I would definitely be grateful to hear your message and perhaps offer my assistance as well."
His monotone voice caused the robed figure to turn around and even from this angle the hood of the robe cast their features into indistinguishable shadow. Though their voice did seem to betray their gender somewhat, Weegee could not be sure as he had met a few women who sounded like men in his life.
"Ah, well it is late but I think I can perhaps spare the time. You see, we are Landers as well as sages of the Messier Order. We recently uncovered an ancient artifact, a strange stone tablet. However, the artifact is broken."
The robed figure produced a stone tablet from their sleeve and handed it to Weegee with a nod.
"As... you are somewhat late, we have no more of the Divining Rods on hand, but if you follow us to our room, I believe I have one more that I can give you. If, of course you are still willing, I can tell you more about this along the way."
Weegee looked over the tablet with a blank expression, even despite the growing excitement he held within him.
"Why, I would be more than happy to assist."
