••Glacis Rainmaker•• It was one of Glacis' many goals in life to travel outside of the beginning town of Londinium one day. However, she was pretty unprepared for something like that. That was why she needed to figure something out. She really did want to help the expedition team out, but it was probably not a good idea to jump into the uncharted land of Scotia with the low levels that she had, at least not until she could make herself some better equipment, perhaps get a stronger staff from somewhere. Glacis was not one to think ahead, but she also was no idiot. If she had better stuff on her she would leave for Scotia at that very moment, adventure ho! Alas, this is not what she had with her right now, so what was next? Well perhaps she could make her way to Sarum, which was pretty nearby. Relatively, anyway. Whilst exploring Londinium she had overheard many travel stories of Sarum, The caves, the forests, the village, even the strange walled off city. It was all things that Glacis would have loved to see one day. So why not go there? It wasn't too far away, and chances were she would like it better than London, though she had indeed grown quite attached to the place over the years. Still, it wouldn't hurt to go check out the neighboring area for a bit, would it? Of course, Sarum was a 14 hour walk, based on the information she had gathered. MUCH better than if she were trying to make the walk from London to Salisbury in the old world, sure, considering the fact that this one utilized the half gaia project, but it was still quite a journey to make on her own. She would need to make preparations. At this point she had two options: Either try to make the Journey in one day, which was completely doable with a 14 hour suspected trip, or she could split the time in half and make two 7 hour walks, camping out for the night in between. The latter seemed to be the better option by far. Walking for a whole 14 hours required a lot of stamina, and Glacis did not have that kind of confidence in her energy reserves. Splitting the time into two journeys allowed her to go to bed and replenish energy over night, so that she could be ready to go for another 7 hours, which already was a long time to be walking. Alright, the plan was set. Now to pack. She would leave as soon as she was able, Jumping the gun again as per usual. But hey, why wait? The longer she stayed in place thinking about it, the more time she had to think of reasons why she should not go. as opposed to just, well, going. One had to live in the moment to truly find adventure. Thinking too much about the future hindered progress in the now. These ideals believed by none other than a fortune teller, of course, though it was what she believed none the less. She looked through her inventory to see if she was missing anything absolutely necessary. Well she would need food, that was for sure. Since she had the ability to buy food now she absolutely refused to make it herself, since it would end up with no flavor, or as gross mush if she ventured out of the menu crafting system. Besides, food was pretty easy to find, so she could just buy some on her way out. Okay, so what else did she need? She had gotten by thus far with basically nothing, So she would probably be fine... except... how was she going to sleep in the woods? I need a way to keep warm and protected. And this is why she should have just went with it and left. Now she was THINKING. But wait, This could actually be a good thing. Maybe she could use this opportunity to make something, level up her tailoring. She had already been planning to do so anyway, This would be a great time to make something practical. Perhaps a soft blanket? It wouldn't be much, sure, but it would certainly be something, that was for absolute sure. Well this was just perfect. Glacis would not only get to travel to some place completely new to her, but she would also get to level up her tailoring skill, the class that she had already deemed her most important one, just by preparing for the journey ahead. Everything seemed to work out just fine in the end. In any case she was not settled on making a blanket. This would set her travel plans off by a day or two, but it wasn't as if she had really made said plans to begin with. She had just decided to go because why not? Who was going to stop her? Well, apparently this blanket was going to stop her, but Glacis was perfectly okay with that. All she needed was some soft fabric, most likely from the same place she had bought the cookie plush materials. Of course if it were up to her, she would just use the left over fabric from her previous craft, that being the aforementioned cookie plush, to make some sort of quilt or something, but apparently the game's system regrading consumable items was still in place despite this being real life now, so any left overs she may have had were now gone and she would have to go buy some more materials for every craft she made. It was all extremely inconvenient and rather tedious, but what was a young tailor to do? In any case, with the blanket idea in her head along with the thrill of a future adventure, Glacis excitedly left the room and then the inn to head to the market in hopes of finding some decent fabric to make a soft blanket out of. ••Words•• Post: 1000

••Glacis Rainmaker•• It was a bright morning, though that was only because the clouds in the overcast sky were thin enough for sunlight to properly pass through and light up the day. Of course, what more would one expect from London? This might be a game world but it was still all rain and fog, all year 'round. In all fairness It was actually super impressive how crazy accurate to the old world it was. Of course, these were not the type of clouds that promised said rain falling down from the sky, So that at least was something to be pretty thankful for. The air was somewhat warm, as it would be in the summer time, though the wind had a bit of a chill to it. a refreshing chill that felt good as Glacis left the inn. The streets were pretty busy, and filling up quickly as time went on and more and more people decided to run their errands. The work rush had already passed by and shops were now open for the day. There was a lovely aroma of breakfast foods and coffee as Glacis approached the nearest shopping district on her way to buy materials. The world was alive. The kind of life that Glacis had missed completely for two whole years. But that's why she was so adventurous now, right? The young tailor reached the shop in which she had gotten her fabrics last time around. Though the project did not quite turn out as the brunette had expected (that is, poorly), She knew it was not the fabric's fault. In all honestly the materials were solid. It was Glacis' own abilities that were not up to par. It was a bit vexing considering her experience in tailoring back when she lived in the old world. In any case, this was not the old world, this was Elder Tale and in Elder Tale, Glacis would have to start over. That was why she refused to get any clothes other than her starter gear unless she made it herself. That was why she had chosen to make that plush the other day, and it was why she was choosing to make this blanket now. Practice. Experience. Skill. Having to start from the pits of the very bottom just meant that she would be so much better at this later, when she had her company set up and she was the top designer in the entire Unfounded Kingdom. Looking through the fabrics available to her, she now had to choose a pattern. Sometimes this was an easy task. Other times it was enough to keep Glacis occupied for what could be hours if she wasn't careful. The initial run through the choices was always the easy part. Glacis could choose what she deemed Ugly as a blanket and move them off to the side, never to be looked at again. Anything after that however, well that was a pretty tough choice. After narrowing down everything that popped out at her, She had to choose which one to buy and which ones to leave behind, or if she wanted to buy multiple and quilt them together. There were so many options, too many options even, it almost caused the poor girl a headache. This was normally not too much of an issue, since with anything else Glacis would already have a design drawn up with the exact fabrics that she needed. This, however, was different. A blanket was much more open ended, and hard to design for. Essentially it was just a sheet of fabric. She did not really even have to do much to it to finish it. Still, Glacis was indeed able to come up with a decision, only taking her about an hour to do. While it was pretty anticlimactic, the young tailor had decided to ignore pattern completely and just go with a solid color. It was probably more expensive to go with any other option anyway, and it just seemed like an easy way to go. So instead she just picked a soft fabric of a solid color, a cyan shade of blue, to be more specific, to make her new blanket out of. After making her purchase, Glacis began her walk back to the inn and her room in it. upon entering she opened her inventory to pull her newly bought materials out, as well as the starter sewing kit that she had received upon joining the game as a Tailor. Grabbing one end of the soft blue fabric, she threw it onto the bed in the hotel and smoothed it out, having to retry this after deciding it was probably a better idea to remove the bed's own blanket and pillows first. When the fabric was properly on the little twin inn bed, this showed Glacis where to start cutting. She cut through the fabric in as straight a line as she could, though she found this much harder to do than she was used to. Stupid low Tailor level, getting in the way. despite this, she kept going until she had a decently sized sheet of fabric. really, there was not much to do from there. Just that would have made a fine blanket but Glacis knew better. She tucked in the very edges now, planning to sew them in place to create a stable hem. Again, she tried to be as straight as possible but it proved to be quite difficult with such a large perimeter to cover. After finishing the hem up, she was done at last, taking her about two hours to finish the whole thing. She looked over her work. Could have been better, but it definitely could have been worse. It would probably be able to hold for the one night she needed it, even though that one night would probably be it's last. Close enough, she thought to herself. For what it was needed for, Glacis was content, and now she could go to Sarum worry free. ••Words•• Post: 1002
