It was a silent evening in the London city, about a week or two after the catastrophe. Adventurers were either dejectedly sitting around, their heads in their hands, resting in Inns and lazing around. But not the blonde fox tail which called herself Evelyn. Evelyn was walking around the market part of the city, the armoured figure of her entering a shop woodcutters shop. At the woodcutter's shop, the blonde haired fox tail looked around carefully, walking around for longer than fifteen minutes until she selected few large oak logs, not of that high quality but they certainly weren't the worst wood around. Slowly she pulled a small piece of paper out of her pocket, giving it to the woodcutter together with few coins, address written on the paper with her neat writing style. Afterwards she disappeared from the shop, almost as silently as a shadow would. Disappearing into the evening of London. Soon enough the fox tail reappeared into another shop, visiting a hunter. She requested rather simple equipment. Leather gloves, made of sturdy, not very comfortable leather, as well as a leather coat, long boots, and a leather hat, big enough for the shadow to hide her face, few leather belts and poaches, and pants made of similar dark leather. She kept looking through the selected equipment, picking equipment made of darkened boar leather originating from Londonium Greatswood. After a moment of negotiations she finally reached over to her inventory, spawning a bit of money to pay for the equipment. After she paid, the blonde fox tail put the equipment in her inventory, thanking to the shop keeper before leaving the store, disappearing to visit the next shop on her planned route. Visiting a tailor, the only thing that the fox tail bought at the tailor's place was a rough heavy tunic made of black cloth. Enough to withstand some harsh environment as well as cold, and perhaps even rain. With this she paid to this shopkeeper as well, heading to the shop right besides it, shop selling blacksmith supplies. There she bought few ingots of Iron and steel as well as a low amount of silver. Those weren't of the best quality, but certainly, they weren't the lowest quality as well. With that the blonde fox tail took a bag of coal, giving the shopkeeper few coins for the materials she bought before heading outside into the evening as well. Looking up to the sky she noticed that few stars already appeared on the sky. With a light smile, the fox tail headed to her final destination. Click... Click... Click... The sound of her boots touching the stone road filled the empty street as she walked into the city outskirts. After a while she finally reached the place which she was searching. It was a small workshop with an old signboard saying "The Silence Before the Storm" with a picture of grinning moon behind it. Slowly she walked over to the door into the building, raising her hand, still dressed in the starter platemail glove, opening the door inside the building. Inside was definitely an old workshop, containing a smelting furnace, an anvil, blacksmith bellows, grinding stone, and of course a massive forge. Aside from that on a table besides the window, there were various tools lying. About three hammers of various sizes, four tongs of various shapes and sizes, as well as nippers and strange tools for further metalwork. Tagged: EvelynWord count: 573

Evelyn, that was the blonde fox tail's name, walked over to the forge, taking the bag of coal she was holding in her hands, accompanied by the rattle of the starter platemail armour she was wearing, pouring the coal she bought into the forge before tossing the empty bag besides it. Afterwards she walked over to the table with the tools, first undoing the various belts which were holding the platemail starter armour together, putting the metal plates aside and stretched lightly. "Hnnn..." Evelyn groaned out softly as she felt her muscles adjusting to the newly founded freedom. She kept however her gloves, extending her right hand towards one of the tongs, taking the metal blacksmith device in her hand. Slowly she walked over to the forge, she had time to spare. After all, this was job for the patient ones. She wanted her equipment to be reliable, even when her skills didn't allow her to do more than basic equipment. As long as it was reliable and as long as it would provide her with better protection, she was fine with it. "Let's start with armour." She mumbled to herself, taking one of the steel ingots from her inventory. Taking it in the tongs she walked over to the forge, she started to light the coal in it. Slowly it caught on fire, the flames colouring her face to orange with their light. "Hmpf. This should better work..." She mumbled as she put the ingot in the fire, starting to press the blacksmithing bellows, the flames rising, the metal slowly turning to red hot. Tagged: EvelynWord count: 265

Evelyn had no time to rest. Once the metal was changed into red hot she took it out of the forge with the tongs, carrying the ingots over to the anvil. There the harder part started. The hammering. Reaching over to the tool table, Evelyn took the hammer in her hand, before returning over to the Anvil. Holding one side of the ingot with the tongs in her left hand, hammer in the other hand she rose her hand above her head, before bringing the hammer down onto the hot metal. Clang! At the loud sound of that her fox ears twitched lightly. With a light sigh she rose the hammer above her head again, before bringing it down once more, the hammer bouncing off lightly and hitting it lightly, before rising again, Evelyn repeating the movement. Clang...Click...Clang...Click...Clang...Click... Clang! With the sound of hammer striking the metal, the metal was soon re-shaped into plates of various sizes, shaped and bent into the form she needed. Soon the metal took the shape of chest piece, protectors for her shins and forearms, for parts of the gloves, for her thighs. The dark coloured metal soon looked more like armour rather than the ingots before. "Now to finish it." Evelyn thought as she looked over the plates. One times for every part of the armour, one time she carried every part over to a bucket with cold water, holding the metal above it before lowering it into the water, the sound of water changing into steam filling the room. Soon the plates were laying on a different table, ready to be changed into the armour she wanted. Into the armour that she would soon carry onto the battlefield. "Let's get to it." The fox tail girl mumbled to herself as she walked towards the table. Tagged: EvelynWords: 302

Taking a seat at the crafting table, Evelyn took the leather belts in her hand. The smaller ones. Those were supposed to hold the plates together. Taking the chest piece in her arms she measured out the leather belts, cutting each one in the precise size before laying them aside. One... two... three... four... five... six of them. Most of them differed in size. Slowly she took a hammer and rivet, striking one part of the rivet through the side of the chest plate with the hammer, attaching the leather belt to it afterwards, before closing it off with another strike. She repeated this multiple times. Two times on the lower chest part, two times on the upper chest part, and two on the top portion. With a light smile she checked her work. Yes, it was satisfying. To finish off the work she just needed to finish off the rest of armoured plates. Clang, clang, clang, clang. The sound of hammer striking the metal followed as she continued to strike the rivets through the plates, finishing off the shin guards first, following with the ones for her forearms, shoulder and thighs, before moving to attach metal plates to the gloves she had prepared. Soon enough she finished everything off, putting the finished set of armour aside. "This was harder than I expected." She mumbled to herself as she looked over it, a status window appearing above it. [Witch Hunter's Garb] Under the name and stats there was description attached. Light platemail armour used by those who hunt creatures of the night, composing of a chest-piece and set of protective plates for arms and legs, to offer additional protection. It is made of cheap, light metal, darkened to avoid the user being spotted, supplemented by leather coat, pants and gloves as well as long boots together with a set of belts with various poaches attached. While not being the best it offers high mobility and better protection than a chainmail armour. Created by Evelyn van Karsten. With satisfaction Evelyn nodded. It was fine equipment which will be enough for a while at least. Tagged: EvelynWord count: 353 Item crafted: [Witch Hunter's Garb] (Metal Equipment) Item level 5 Item cost: 50

The armour was finished. Opening her inventory, Evelyn equipped her new armour, adjusting it a little. "Hmpf. Much better." She mumbled to herself. It was definitely much more comfortable than the metal tin can from before, not even fitting her much better, but also being much more comfortable and offering better mobility and protection. And it also hid her fox ears and fox tail under it, the fox ears hidden in the leather hat, the tail hidden under the leather coat. Perfect, Evelyn thought, moving over to the forge again. She didn't need only armour after all, she needed a weapon too. Taking few ingots in the tongs again, she carried them over to the forge. At the forge she started to move the blacksmith bellows to heat the metal once more. As she heated the forge up, her thoughts were running around. "A sword... I need a good sword. Good enough to fight even the stronger monsters." Evelyn thought. She thought of a massive one-handed blade, of the size which could be held in two hands as well. One-and-half-handed sword. How was it called again? Bastard sword? Longsword? She was certain it was a Longsword. The metal continued to heat up, soon reaching the intended heath, red hot glow colouring the area around Evelyn. Soon enough the metal was hot enough. Evelyn carried the ingots over to the forge, starting to shape the sword with the hammer. Clang. Clang. Clang. Clang. The sound of hammer hitting the metal sounded through the workshop. "Hmpf. The Silence Before the Storm. If this sound is silence then I don't want to hear the storm." Evelyn mumbled to herself, the clinging of metal already getting on her nerves slightly. Either way she needed a fine sword. The sword was harder to make than the armour, Evelyn sweating lightly from the heath and exhaustion from the hard job of blacksmith. Clang. Clang. Clang. Clang. With each hit the shape changed, from a long metal rod to a long blade. The final size started taking the shape of about a meter long massive blade and the handle together with the crossguard consisting of two arms, shaped in a slight V, with a long about thirty centimetre long handle, big enough to allow Evelyn to hold the sword with one hand. With a light smile Evelyn nodded. This was a fine blade, which will slay many enemies. The hammer was faster now, the more comfortable armour allowing Evelyn to hammer faster. Clang. Clang. Clang. Clang. Finally the blade was about to be finished. She rose the blade, putting it in the bucket of water, steam rising and filling the workshop she was working in. "Now, let's finish this sword." She thought to herself. Tagged: EvelynWord count: 242

Evelyn now just needed to finish up the blade. After carrying the sword over to the nearby table, Evelyn reviewed it and checked it, nodding lightly. "That will do." She mumbled to herself before taking one of the leather belts, wrapping it around the two parts of the handle. This would make wielding the sword more comfortable. She gave the blade few swings to test how balanced it is. It wasn't the best, but it will do. Last task was left. Creating the hilt. Taking few longer plates of metal, Evelyn wrapped them in leather she had prepared, soon trimming the edges with metal lining and on the top edge where the sword crossguard would touch the hilt. Soon she fastened everything, added few belts so she could put it on her side. Now the sword was finished, the finished blade lying in front of her. "Alright, let's take a closer look." She mumbled to herself as she looked over the sword a status window popping up.
[Nemesis Sword]
Slowly she would read over the item description. The boardsword is massive enough to be held with two hands, only skilled fighters with good strength being able to wield it one-handedly. It is a crudely balanced weapon, three inches broad, doubly edged; the length of the blade three feet seven inches; of the handle, fourteen inches; of a plain transverse guard, one foot; the weight six pounds and a half. The blade is made of tempered Iron, being able to withstand massive blows. Made to assist Witch Hunters and slayers of Undead in their job, being a weapon one can rely on. This wasn't enough though for Evelyn. With few movements of her hand, she equipped the sword, the massive blade appearing at her side. "Alright. Now let's improve you." Evelyn mumbled to herself as she pulled the blade out, carrying it over to the forge once more with silver ingot. Taking the silver she puts it inside the forge, heating it up until it started to soften up, removing it again and putting it aside, putting in the blade right afterwards to soften its tip as well. Soon enough she removed it, the metal once more shining with the heath stored in it, carrying both over to the anvil again. Reforge, the ability of a smith to give better abilities to a weapon she or he makes. Evelyn wanted this sword to be her main weapon, so she wanted to make sure that the enemies she will fight will be able to get hit with it. Tagged: EvelynWord count: 155

The blade was almost complete. With the smiting tongs Evelyn separated the silver into pieces, laying it on top of the blade on several spots, slightly covering it. Then she laid the blade on the anvil, smiting the silver into the surface of the blade. Again and again she strikes the weapon, the silver forming light, thin coating on top of the blade, fusing with the tempered iron. Soon enough Evelyn was finished, reaching over to one of her poaches, cooling the hot metal down with a vial of holy water, water vaporised and hissing as it touched the blade, cooling it down fast. Evelyn's weapon was finally finished. With a light smile she looked over the blade before putting it back in its sheath, checking its status. [Nemesis Sword] The boardsword is massive enough to be held with two hands, only skilled fighters with good strength being able to wield it one-handedly.
