It was quite the day honestly. While most of the people in the town were still in the process of dealing with their newfound bodies, Tori Callaway was having the best time of her life. Her newfound armor and abilities seemed to compliment her adventurous and rather boisterous attitude, and she found the world of London, or rather Londonium, fascinating. She herself had never ventured out much father than Texas and, having lived in the sticks there, tended to only venture out as far as Dallas for the state fair or to visit some of her family that tended to live up around that area. Taking a deep breath of the air, she swung her mighty Claymore up onto her shoulder, the silver metal clanging against each other in a ring that was music to her ears. She always enjoyed that smell of freshly oiled metal, the sound of clanging steel. She had always daydreamed about being a knight when she was younger heck, surrounded by nothing but a bunch of older brothers, the last thing she wanted to do was be the damsel in distress. What she desired most right now was adventure, and with the massive amount of commotion in the main body of the city, the best place she could think of was to head just outside of the city to test the combat mechanics. Venturing just outside of the city limits, she stretched her arms and let out a sigh. She eyed the armor that adorned her. She had to admit that she enjoyed the relative safety that the massive chunks of platemail provided, but it really squished the girls a bit. Shifting around in the armor to get more comfortable, she took in another deep breath, the fresh air blowing in from off around the undeveloped outskirts really felt like home to her, and now that she could hear herself think, she wanted to set up some sort of plan of attack. She would try to find some sort of low level mobs first, just try and see what she could do with the game mechanics, give the system a little it of an old stress test. After a quick few swings of her arm to stretch it out, she hopped up on a small cobblestone wall along the edge of the brown dirt road and looked over the plains and the forest. She stood upon her perch, sword resting across the back of her shoulders high into the air, off-hand over her eyes, as she stood surveying the land, trying to get some sort of idea of where the low level mobs might be. Ruby had been staying near the outskirts of the city as much as she could following the riots that broke out in the city yesterday. She had managed to crawl into a partially destroyed building to sleep the night before in relative safety, having no money to afford any comfortable place to stay, though she did hear a rumor that inns were allowing adventurers to sleep in their dining area for free. She didn't want to risk anything though and had wound up wandering the city.
Crawling out of the hole she had wedged herself inside, she stretched, back bones popping a bit, arms over her shoulders. Sadly she didn't wake up back in her apartment. She would have liked to have had something to eat for breakfast. She hadn't had anything to eat at all since she got her, actually. And the grumbling in her stomach only confirmed as much. Hands, feeling the contours of her body to make sure nothing was taken off her while she had slept, once she confirmed everything was on her, she hopped a bit and took off running away from the city center. If she was hungry, that meant she needed money. With only 2 short spears and her leather armor as possessions to her name, she needed to use these tools to make money. She could try selling them, but she doubted they would sell for much. She could try to get a job in the city and make a living that way, but where's the fun in that?
It was confirmed after the riots yesterday that people come back to life after they are killed. So realistically, the worst that could happen to her is dying in this world. Fighting monsters and beasts outside of the city didn't seem so daunting when life has a respawn option.
She ran through a worn down outer wall to the city and into the field. She could see the flat fields rustling in the wind and beyond the forested rolling hills. Land like this would be perfect for farming if not for the various slimes, boars, and rabbits that call these fields home.
She could probably just run in and start swinging her spears wildly and get a few kills. But that would only heighten her chances of being killed. She needed to think out a fighting style. She was pretty sure her meter long short spears weren't part of anything like a medieval martial arts style, so she would probably end up making up a style of her own. If something goes wrong, and she dies, she can just amend the mistakes. This world really is a cheat...
She found a relatively clear spot without any nearby monsters or animals and pulled out the two short spears from their sheathes on her waste. She twisted them a bit in her hands to get a feel for their weight. She could try swinging them like swords? She held the spears by their ends and gave them a few swings like one would a sword. But the balance was all wrong. It didn't take her long to realize this was a bad idea. The center of balance for the spears would probably be a better place to grip. It felt natural and she started practicing thrusts and slashes with the spears. Nothing a complete amateur couldn't do, just enough to know how to use the weapons she chose for herself in the character creation menu. She kept the exercises going until she was sweating profusely. At least the early spring chill kept her cool.

Tristan took the sun in on her face as she looked around. There were plenty of slimes, rabbits and small, low-leveled critters running around that would make good practice. It was a beautiful day after all, and what better day would she wish for to get some exercise in swinging around her sword? As a gentle breeze came, it blew her long, green hair around and she closed her eyes and smiled. This feeling was what she had always craved, the feeling of adventure, of not knowing what the day holds. It was the unknown holding its arms in front of her, beckoning like an open path for her to just snake her ways down its many rivers. As she stood there, one arm out wide, feeling the rush of the air over her skin and whistling through the cool, metal plates of her armor, that she heard the pitter-patter of steps in the grass near her. She turned around, big smile still on her face looking for the source of the new noise. A bit in the distance, she could see another player in the tall grass of the countryside. She seemed about half a foot smaller than herself, and was twirling through the grass. For a second, Tori thought that the person was dancing, before she saw the glint of sun off of the metal spear heads of the weapons the person wielded. She watched and gave a quiet chuckle at first. After a while, she could tell the other player was a girl, and that her movements were definitely those of someone new to weapon fighting. She was no expert herself, but she knew good form and many basics at least from her many older brothers, and at least knew enough that if she felt so inclined she could give some pointers. Of course, even though she was a bit of a loudmouth, she knew better than to straight up pester someone right off the bat about their form. Nonetheless, she did not hold the restraint required to not approach the new person on such a fine day. Jumping down from her perch, she trotted over to the other girl and gave a nice, loud, classic greeting. "Howdy!" she exclaimed. "I see someone else d'cided that the town was just gettin' itself on a fast track to the stock show without any cattle! How're ya doin'? It's quite the helluva day out here ain't it?"As she asked her questions, the girl swung the sword off of her shoulder, dragging it in the ground before using it like a tripod stand to lean on. Looking around, she found a bit of a wheat-like grass, plucked it out of the ground, seemed to clean it off a bit with the tips of her fingers, and put the plucked end into her mouth, the more flowery-like end sticking out the corner like one of those old Saturday-morning cartoon hicks, a massive grin stretching across her face at the other girl. Ruby was completely lost in focus. She didn't even hear the newcomer approach before she shouted a greeting. Ruby spun on her heel, took a step back, and pointed both of her spears in the direction of the voice. A tall green-haired woman in full plate armor with a claymore slung over her shoulder stood there. Damn, that could have easily killed her. Stupid Ruby, pay more attention to your surroundings! She didn't have long to kick herself before the green woman's American drawl threw her off. She didn't understand the reference. She looked at the girl with her brow raised before she lowered her spears.
Ruby took a deep breath before responding, "H-hello. I haven't been in the city since after the riots. People lost their minds there for a while." She brought her arm up to her forehead and wiped the sweat off with the sleeve of her shirt. "I just came out here to practice. Never held a weapon in my life before yesterday." She looked down at the spears. The green woman seemed friendly enough that she didn't need to worry about fighting her it seems. Plus now that Ruby knows she's here, if she does attack she doubted the woman would be able to catch her in that heavy armor. All Ruby would need to do is run away.

Tristan's smile seemed to grow a little wider at the girl's sudden frazzled expression. Her green eyes seemed to sheen and she almost seemed to lean in a little closer to the girl. "Well, Ain't you jus' the cutest lil thing!" She gave off a strong, but kind laugh as she sat looking at the little girl. She understood why the girl was so worried, what with the incidences going on back in town, but this was all in all still just a game to Tristan, and she figured the girl looked like she could use a well-meaning friend. Picking up her sword, she thrust it back down into the ground with a mighty thunk. Walking around to the other side, she leaned back up against the mighty sword like it was a wall and nibbled on her piece of grass. Eyeing over the girl as she leaned against her blade, she took the grass out of her mouth for a minute. "Well don' let me stop ya, I'm jus gonna sit and watch for a minute, see if I ain't able to help ya train or nothin." Rebutia

Ruby eyed the woman for a little bit. She was tempted to reply with 'I have a boyfriend'. Wasn't the first time in Ruby's life that she was the object of interest for her own sex. The answer had always been a flat no. Ruby's interests in her love partners lie solely on men, and at this moment just one man.
The problem with outright denying this green woman, though, was she seemed proficient with weapons, even if all Ruby's seen is her forcing the claymore into the dirt. Isn't that going to ruin the blade like that? If she could get even the littlest bit of advice from her, it would help. What's the worst that could happen? She could get killed. And then just wake up at the church and begin again.
Ruby sighed and got into the position she figured would be the best fighting position. Legs spread for balance, spears held about a third of the way from the ends. "I'm not sure how best to use these bloody things. If I should focus on stabbing..." She thrust one forward, she had since turned away from the green woman so she wasn't attacking her, then she recoiled it and forced the other one forward. "Or if I should try any slashes... Or maybe when I stab, twist the spear a bit? Then what about blocking... if I get a spear stuck in something, how best do I get it out..." She started mumbling to herself at the end, forgetting she was being watched.
