| SOLAIRE HP: 100% MP: 100% | "The sun is a wondrous body. Like a magnificent father! If only I could be so grossly incandescent!"
|
Ah, yes. What wonderful morn lied before him. Such marvel and splendor that slowly loomed out from under the blankets of horizon. It was like the friendly smile of a magnificent father, returned from work. The washing tones of orange and purple, blended together like a lovingly crafted watercolour. The gentle breeze rippled his tabard like a gentle hug from a playful lover. The pussy-willows danced across the grass, like playful children that he proudly watched over. His hand firmly gripped the pommel of his blade; balancing it on the cold, sunless ground by it's tip. The narrow eye holes in his helmet let very little light in; the ideal window for heliophiles to peer through. This game was much more beautiful as a living planet. Every early morning was a gift of life, which never felt the same. The mail-clad warrior sighed in reminiscence; the way a heart-stricken youth would, as he daydreams of his star-crossed love. It was another perfect morning; and it was all his. Eventually, the warrior plunged his blade into the earth. It was his spade to plant the seeds of hope in a garden of pleasant dreams. Brilliant beams of shining light streaked upon, and around him. Letting go of his sword, he began to stretch, welcoming his beloved morning. He spread his arms, to their utmost span, and arced them over his head. As he stretched his shoulders, the solar rays caressed his body with the utmost delicacy and tenderness. The ultraviolet slowly thawed the evening chill from his armour as he came closer and closer to the true embrace of his greatest companion. Never could any game, woman, or other mortal pleasure enchant him in such a way. Nothing compared to the fresh start of a new-found day; a second chance to step further towards truly discovering yourself. He had done this many times before, in real life. He had woken early, simply to brew a cup of instant coffee; preparing himself to truly enjoy the wondrous body that enthralled him so grossly for all his life. However, in the world of Elder Tale, there was no responsibility so pressing, so necessary, that he couldn't sit and admire as long as he wished. So, that was exactly what he did. It would be quite some time before the town had awoken; and hopefully, many hours before he was interrupted. Far too long had the Elder tale community fallen to the drudgery of woeful idling. The venom of despair clouded their eyes, and let the poetry of all beauty that lie before them, pass them by. This was a crime that no officer of the law could quell. This was a deed for a messenger of hope, a messiah, a beacon of wisdom, and faith. Something no true man could claim to be, and something this warrior could never imagine to uphold. He knew the deed was absolutely impossible; but deep in his heart, he knew he was the only one determined to try. He mulled over the passions and visions he was about to preach to the whole court of Westminster Abbey. If he could convince even one person to support his cause, he would be one step closer to success. This post totals a magnificent 539 praises.

The second day of their entrapment had Jelga sleeping underneath a door. She was choosing to save as much money as she could, and so while the city was still warm, she was sleeping outdoors in the streets. It wasn't like people could PK in the cities anyway; that was something that she was concerned about. No one had died yet as far as she knew. Was it a way back? A blessing in disguise? Or would they be permanently... dead? She nearly laughed at that thought. People die when they are killed.
She sat up and stretched out her bulky arms, right as the man off in the distance stretched his arms towards the holy incandescent bulb in the sky. It was almost a mirror movement; although hers was entirely unintentional, it could be interpreted as praising of the sun. Then, she yawned and stood up to her feet, continuing to stretch. Oddly enough, she wasn't feeling the effects of sleeping in armour, which surprised her. It was like this game was a game in some places, but a world in others. She didn't get it at all.
She also hadn't eaten since the Apocalypse. It wasn't like she didn't know where to find food, to be sure. She just hadn't had the desire to eat. But now she was starting to feel the gnawing in her stomach. She needed to focus on human needs at some point. She'd probably grab something to eat today, even if it would be tasteless. Worse come to worse, she could wash it down with some water. She mildly wondered if by this point, the Thames was safe to drink. Probably not. She didn't want to risk it. She grinned a little at that thought. In the real world, she would've been opposed to bottled water; now she was worried about some magical voodoo in the regular water.
She ruffled her long red hair to try to get some of the stiffness out of it... yes. Hair could be stiff first thing in the morning. She stretched her arms behind her back, stamped her feet on the ground to get some feeling into them, and then she trudged off, not realizing that she was walking back towards the solar praising man. That was when she spotted him; sandy blonde hair amidst a muscular sea of chain mail. She smirked a little and placed her hands on her hips, staring at him as he did his stretches.
“I think ye got ou' th' kinks around th' twentieth stretch, mate.” She commented to him after a long while of watching him do the same movement over, and over, and over. What in the world was he doing? It didn't even look like he was stretching anymore. Was he trying to fly?
Perhaps this game had finally stricken someone loopy. She chuckled a bit to show that she was kidding and started to stroll up to him. Again, she was having the ape feeling with her proportions. Maybe that was how she was supposed to walk as a dwarf? No, it was just terribly awkward.

Maximus looked out upon the city, surveying his territory. Despite all of the chaos that ensued from the calamity, the night was a rather quiet one. The silent stone visage of the ruined civilization lay before him. His rooftop perch was the perfect place for him to watch. Ever watchful, ever diligent. That was his role in the real world, and he was going to take on the mantle of justice once again. The sun began to spill over the outlines over the other nearby buildings. He had been on watch for too long.
He had stopped a pair of attempted robberies, but had seen little else during the night. Wherever there are people, there shall be crime. It is a staple of this world just as it was in the other. While there may not be any need for police, there will be a need for knights. Those who will go into harms way to protect those that cannot protect themselves. So he had decided to assume this role and had chosen to become the Red Night. Upon further reflection and reading of the manual however, he found that miraculously druids do not gain access to plate armor. So he did the best that he could with it.
Of particular interest to him though was this man who had been what it seemed like, acting out a solo play in the middle of the street for the past few minutes. He didn't appear to be intending harm to anyone however, so Maximus decided to let him be as he continued to look out for further signs of skullduggery. He had had little sleep through the night, and it was nigh time he decided to get some rest. That was when he saw it.
What appeared to be a woman walked up and started to engage the man whom had been doing nothing but minding his own business. She had stomped the ground in aggression a few moments before. Perhaps it was similar to what a boar does before charging. No, it must be the same. She was intending to attack this man. All for what? Basking in the glory of the morning sun? The she opened her mouth. The language, if you could call it that was incomprehensible. She must be a servant of the dark. That speak, no. It was the tongue of demons. She began to laugh maniacally. This was getting far more serious. Maximus grabbed his trusty spear and went to descend the building, that man needed a rescue.

Yes, it all came to him at once. The brilliant glimmering of daybreak morning-dew; the radiant warmth of god-like glory; the nagging barks of a Scottish accent.
... of a Scottish Accent? Sometimes, he wished the Sun would talk to him, just so he could know how it felt to nurse life to the newborn babe that was the Earth herself. Unfortunately, he knew better than that; he knew someone was behind him. Worst of all, they interrupted his sunrise. For shame, his alone time was for him. Hopefully they would simply ask him the question and leave with his answer. Then he could return to his business.
"Oh," he exclaimed; his voice gently echoing from inside his helmet. He hesitantly lowered his arms from basking. "I'm sorry, I hadn't..." He paused, confused. He had turned around, only to meet eyes with the trunk of a tree that sprouted from the garden he stood in. "That's funny," he muttered, "... I swear, I..."
He palmed the cheeks of his bucket-like helmet, and lifted it off his head. His short, golden strands of hair fluttered angelically from the pads in his helm, as his wide, curious eyes of hazel swept across the garden. His lean, youthful face twisted in sour surprise as his whole head had turned to his side. He began calmly turning in place until he'd come full circle. Finally, he noticed what had been under his nose the whole time.
"Oh! Hello!" he warmly welcomed the Dwarf, "I hadn't noticed you, before! I am Knight Delbert, of Wessex; here simply to admire the sun." He shone a playful smirk, to what was likely now, an annoyed Dwarf. Looking back towards the Sun, he squinted in recoil, as it had risen just enough to no longer be looked upon by naked eye. His moment had come and passed. It was a shame that the most beautiful moment of the day had been cut just that slightest bit shorter.
A matter of seconds was no big deal, he wasn't about to lose sleep over it. He considered to make conversation from his hobby. "It is a wondrous body, no? Watching over us like a loving parent, feeding us light, and blanketing us in the warmth of it's very presence." He looked back, rubbing his watery eyes, temporarily disoriented by the speckles he saw. "Have you ever wondered what it must be like to be in such a position?"
'Knight' Delbert was curious if this newcomer would be like minded enough to take front row to his preaching to come. Perhaps she would be useful to bounce a few ideas off of!
This strange looking 'Boy/Man-Knight' with an even stranger fascination had been too busy to notice the angry, spear wielding wolf man that approached from the shadows. Not that it was likely that he would, given he were alone, either. He simply awaited conversation from his Dwarvish newcomer, thrilled that he may start the first of many new friendships to be. This post totals a magnificent 500 praises.

Jelga had a sinking feeling as she looked upon Solaire. Two things came to her thoughts. The first, that she would be somehow wrapped into some form of working relationship with this fanatic, and the second that she would soon grow tired of his behaviour. She was practically stunned by his words, and quickly regretted even drawing his attention. She had just been trying to be friendly. But this guy was crazy. Where everyone else was in a panic over the situation, this guy was just trying to look at the sun. Had he been planning to do this for a while? She leaned on her right foot instead of her left, her arms folding in front of her and her eyebrow raising ever so slightly.
“Nae, I 'aven't.” She said bluntly. Then she realized the gruffness of her words and sought to add something to them. She rubbed her chin and frowned. “No' tha' I 'aven't appreciated th' sun, mind ye.” She continued to muse. How the hell was she supposed to talk about the sun as extensively as this fellow? Her nose wrinkled a little with her pondering. “I... dunno. I 'aven't really thought o' it.” She kind of wished that she had something more to say here.
She looked around in awkward embarrassment and her eyes glanced over the spear man that was advancing towards her. She glanced back to where he was and grinned. Maybe this guy was reasonably sane. She waved at him and grinned. “Mornin'! Ye enjoyin' th' sun too?” She asked him casually, not realizing that she was about to get a spear through her. She did however note that he was holding the spear instead of keeping it sheathed. “Ye know, ye still 'ave th' function to put away yer weapon, mate. Ye just gotta... 'ere lemme pull up th' menu an' walk ye through.” She commented as she swiped at the side of her vision and busied herself by going through the menu options, completely unaware of the attack that was incoming.

Maximus continued his glorious stride over to the pair that laid before him. The man, much smaller in reality it appeared now that from when he was so far away appeared to be basking in, some sort of feeling. Exactly what it was, Maximus was not sure. He was muttering something though about admiring a wondrous body as well as blankets and positions. The woman must already be working her ways on him, and how quickly it was happening was astonishing. She must not be any normal kind of demon, she could only be a succubus. There was little time to spare in his case. The advanced state of his delusions were quite troubling to say the least. How even a high class demon could manage such a feat in so short of time was astounding.
He was interrupted by the incessant noise of the female. The woman's queer speak was starting to make a little more sense, but still sounded almost as much like the demonic gibberish of a few moments prior. It almost sounded like.... No. It couldn't be. Oh dear god was she from Glasgow? That's even worse than being a succubus. To constantly inflict upon people the dreadful fealing of speaking their own language but in a way worse than that an alien species from Star Wars might so butcher it. She spoke again. Oh if only this game included a universal translator. Despite her also having the fashionable red hair coloring like himself, he could not come to trust this one.
She opened her menu while saying something about weapons. She intended to fight him, since she didn't have one equipped at the moment. It was time. "Back vile temptress, you shall not have this one" He pointed to the armored man. He gripped his spear high near it's head. "Fire". He slashed lightly at the air with it, sliding his grip down. "Fire" His grip lowered again on the shaft as he began his casting. "Fire" A third slash at nothing. "Fire.... HO!" With that his spell finished casting and Maximus raised his spear, pointing towards the air. His Flameburst spell was channeled through the tip of the spear, sparking a brilliant crimson blaze into the air. The flames were too far away to be any kind of physical threat, but he hoped it would be able to drive her off. "I shalt not let your tricksy Glaswegian ways corrupt this one."

Oh dear. What a shame it should come to this. Delbert of Wessex only wanted to stand peacefully and gaze at his beloved sun, mulling over how he would share the warmth of loving thoughts, and caring deeds. Now, another intruder of personal space had arrived; this one being a gentleman of arms, in place of another 'fair' lady. Typically, Delbert would easily be pushed around, and his only escape, his words of pacifism; but here, Delbert was a warrior with might like any other. He may be first level, but he'd certainly had enough alts on ET:NA to know Martyr Spear could carry him a good ways through the leveling grind. With the release he could only imagine ET:UK having far less latency issues... but he never expected to be living it in real time! "Truly sorry, Dear Sir. I do believe you're quite lost!"With that, the helmet that rested between the gentle fingertips of the tenderly timid titan engulfed his shining hair and gentle face. He rose his hand, palm open, as if reaching for a gift from the heavens themselves. As the brilliant Sun behind him rose over his head like a glorious halo, rays of light focused intently over his palm. "Ah, yes," he echoed from behind his helmet. "The mortal flame. A force so strong that it could destroy all in it's wake."Eventually, the light shaped in to what could only be described as a javelin of pure light. It sparked, and flared with arcs of coursing solar energy as it violently idled, begging to be thrown. "... But what is the mortal flame without fuel, or engine to harness it? Naught but a pathetic force of rampant destruction. Never is it powerful enough to sustain life, or even to sustain itself."Suddenly, the tone in 'Knight' Delbert's tone intensified. Perhaps he was getting a tad too buried in his mood. His helmet turned from them entirely, as he stared up at the wonder of science before him. "LOOK AT HER..! GAZE UPON HER! IS SHE SIMPLY NOT THE MOST GLORIOUS CREATURE YOU'VE SET EYES UPON? SEE HOW SHE DANCES, HOW SHE BEAMS, HOW SHE SMILES. WOE THAT SHE CAN NOT SPEAK, LEST SHE SHOULD TELL US HOW SHE LOVES US SO!"Blurry eyed, and half blind, Delbert could stare no more into his marvelous power. "You tread upon ground, consecrated by the fair will of a peaceful man, and sway your flame like you've learned to master it... and you sway it before the GREATEST FLAME OF ALL! CAN YOU TRULY STARE HER IN THE FACE? AND TELL HER THAT YOU WISH TO STRIKE DOWN WHAT FEW PRECIOUS GIFTS OF LIFE SHE GIVES US?"Delbert couldn't be sure if this gentleman was seriously going to attack them, but he wouldn't dare give the competitive edge of intimidation to some stranger. After finishing his speech, he almost felt sorry for the dwarven girl that'd been mixed up in this; but he couldn't break character, not now. He'd spent many hours of each day contemplating the meaning of life, and writing poems of what humanity truly owed their life too. Delbert could naturally fount phrases regarding this subject any hour of the day; hopefully it helped him disarm this situation This post totals a magnificent 544 praises.
