Haneroze once again replaced her notepad on her legs after she confirmed Tyonis saw which letter she wanted. She then heard him try different words, which surprised Haneroze.
"I thought it was one of the easiest letters, since it's usually one of the firsts we learn to say as a baby? Ah, maybe it's just easier through trial and error?"
She still observed him to try and see how it was done, visually. Then he explained how to do it... Making a lot of references to the letter B.
"But I haven't learned B yet!"
Showing a bit of frustration, she showed her notepad and pointed the row for the letter B, which was completely empty. Then, a second and a half after, she replaced the notepad down and looked toward the river.
Without caring for any reaction from Tyonis, she wanted to give a try anyway. She placed her lips like she saw Tyonis do, then exhaled to let the air naturally spread her lips, like he said.
-Phaaa!
It wasn't quite like it. It sounded like an F, but not quite. Showing a bit of hesitation, Haneroze tried again.
-Phaa!
She couldn't tell what she was doing wrong. So she looked back at Tyonis for better explanations.

Tyonis sheepishly scratched the back of his head as Haneroze showed him a completely blank row for the letter B. Naturally, she wouldn't understand his references if she had never attempted the letter. He was about to suggest she learn B instead when the elf-girl turned away from him to face the river and began to practice. Her pronunciation was almost correct, but at the last moment, the sound would fluctuate into an F.
She eyed him expectantly and Tyonis could only shrug as he mulled over what her problem was. After a few minutes an idea dawned.
"As your lips are parted by the air, curve them a little to form the final half of the 'p' sound so it sounds more like an 'uh' and 'puh' instead of a 'pha.'" He hedged. Tyonis wanted to encourage her to keep trying. After seeing her notepad, he knew she still had quite a way to go, but here, in this new world, she had a real chance of overcoming her disability.
In Elder Tale, the possibilities were endless. At least, for now.

Haneroze waited for Tyonis to come up with an answer. However, he was taking a long while to think about it. She eventually decided to just keep trying until he comes up with an answer.
-Phaaa! Phaaa! Phaa!
"Still can't succeed. I think that the problem lies within my lips. But I still don't know what exactly is wrong."
She tried to vary a bit the lips play, but the same sound kept coming out. And after a while, Tyonis finally came with an answer. Although it wasn't a very clear one.
"Curving them? How? I guess I have to keep trying."
She tried with the tip in mind. And it was only after half a dozen tries that she finally pulled off a P. Happy to finally have gotten it, she immediately repeated it to register the feel.
-Puuu. Puuu. Paaaa. Peee. Piiii. Poooo.
She drew a square on every P. Then, since it was apparently almost the same thing, she inquired Tyonis about the B consonant.

Tyonis laid on his back as Haneroze continued to practice the P and all of its vowel combinations. He was earnestly impressed with her desire to progress. Then again, he had a comparable obsession with video games, which, incidentally, had led to him being stuck here in Elder Tale. The thoughts of the 'real world' clouded his mind for awhile and he only vaguely listened as Roze continued.
The thoughts of his previous life were shattered when the elf-girl had shoved her notebook before him once more. Apparently, it was the best way to gain his attention whenever he zoned out so deeply.
"'B' huh? This one is a lot like 'P' but you have to use your vocal cords. Like with the letter 'P' it's important you keep your lips closed and let the air force them apart. It's best if you tried started off with 'bee' since it's such an explosive sound."

"Using my vocal cords? Let's try."
Haneroze replaced her mouth like for P. She tried to concentrate for moving the vocal cords like with Z. And then, she blowed like for P.
-Peeee. Peee, Peee//
Immediately, she started coughing. But as she recovered, she felt dizzy for half a second.
"W-what was that feeling? Just my... imagination... maybe? Or maybe I'm getting tired? T-then, I'll stop after getting this consonant."
She picked the waterskin and drank a bit.
"But it didn't seem like using my vocal cord helped much. Let's see... I really feel the P sound is made through the lips. And it sounds like a softer sound. Maybe my lips need to spread slower or something? Let's try."
She started again, gradually trying to go softer and softer.
-Peeee. Peeeee. Peeeee. BPeeeee. "Almost!" Bpeeee. Beeeeee.
She smiled at Tyonis.

The guilty will pay the price...
Having gone on an adventure through the darkness with a female Assassin and a Werecat, Ragnarok was exhausted. Although they were a strange bunch, the darkness...considering that it was underground with all its mess...it was certainly a drag. Removing his custom-made armor as he returned to the sunny Londinium was a major relief to the Human. From then, he simply went on to having some refreshing water and a few pieces of his homemade sushi, although without any sauce; however, that meal was eaten alone. Nonetheless, even as he was lonely, Ragnarok was simply relieved to be out in the open. From the somewhat grueling and fun adventure, to a peaceful meal of average-made salmon sushi, the Assassin decided to take his eventful day to a rest at his home, by the river. Yet, the river held just one more surprise for this Adventurer.
As he turned a few corners to the large lake where he usually called home, something was fairly different about the scenery. First off, the Assassin started to hear noises of what appeared to be...appeared to be...two people talking? Ragnarok knew that someone was talking, but as for the other...he couldn't really tell until he got closer. When he did, however, he learned that apparently Haneroze, the girl that he was teaching how to speak...not so long ago...was working with this other person. Ragnarok didn't know who he was, but he approached them slowly as to not alert either one of them.
It was generally a good thing for Haneroze to be learning more about how to talk, especially with someone else to teach her. It even made Ragnarok a bit sad to know that she had come to the river and he wasn't there to teach her. Hopefully though, this new person was doing a pretty good job at teaching her how to talk.
As Ragnarok ended up closer to the couple, he learned quickly that the man's name was Tyonis as well as he was teaching her how to pronounce the letter "B". The Assassin continued to listen in for a little while longer as Haneroze was pronouncing the letter. She had done fairly well with the letter, and Ragnarok could pretty much guess that Tyonis had done a pretty good job on teaching her the pronunciations as well.
"Good job Rose. I can see that you're getting a lot better at the pronunciations of the consonants and vowels."
Ragnarok looked down at the two with a calm smile as he congratulated Haneroze on her steps towards learning the language. He just hoped that he didn't startle the two in any way. Maybe just calling her name would've been better than sneaking up on the two, but it was too late to reconsider his actions now.
"Hey Rose. I see that you're getting lessons from your friend Tyonis here. Sorry that I wasn't here, I was off with a party for some underground exploring."
His tone was calm and happy as well. He was generally happy to see Haneroze again, and as for Tyonis, he hoped that he was a good person as well as pronouncing his name correctly. Ragnarok still didn't know how to pronounce her username, but he'd find out some day. His attention eventually turned from Haneroze to Tyonis, with a calm face this time. Tyonis seemed like a fairly okay guy, but his face spoke fairly differently. In the end, he'd have to find out more about him through their interactions with one another.
"The name's Ragnarok by the way. You can call me Ragna for short if you want."
Ragnarok's hand was set out for a friendly gesture from the Assassin to the Samurai. He didn't want to cause any trouble, especially in front of Haneroze. Perhaps, they'd be able to work together to help her out...Maybe.

Tyonis chuckled as the elf-girl kept on trying to pronounce B. For the longest time, it sounded like pee. The young man thought of himself as somewhat mature for his age, but for some reason, it was difficult to keep a straight face as Roze slowly managed to squeeze out the right pronunciation. Honestly, she was doing amazing. It had been less than an hour and they had gone through a decent portion of her chart. He briefly wondered how long it would take her to start pronouncing full words and sentences. She was intelligent; Tyonis was not dense enough to overlook that aspect of her character. If she could comprehend him, then learning and memorizing word definitions and grammatical structure could be bypassed entirely. And those two aspects of language learning were by far the most time consuming.
His head turned to the addition of a new voice. His footfalls were light - even with Tyonis' animalistic senses, he wasn't aware of the stranger's approach until he started speaking. The samurai instinctively curled his fingers around his blade. PKing had become the norm and he made sure to treat every newcomer with a certain level of caution. As the man introduced himself as Roze's acquaintance, Tyonis relaxed and let his arms fall limp at his sides.
A quick scan of his HUD revealed Ragnarok's Class and level: Lvl 18 Assassin - that explained his silent approach. Tyonis sighed out loud and placed a hand on Roze's shoulder, patting it gently then waved himself off in a curt, but friendly fashion.
"Ragnarok? Pleasure," he said taking a few steps back from the pair. "Name's Tyonis. I'd stay and chat, but the day is still young, and there are many levels to grind. I'll leave Haneroze in your care. Hopefully we can all share a chat sometime," he winked at Roze before turning on his heel, a hand raised up in silent farewell.

Soon after she has smiled at Tyonis, Haneroze saw someone in the corner of her eyes. She immediately turned her head out of reflex, to verify who it was. And at the same time she confirmed who it was, the man spoke up, congratulating her. She smiled at his sight.
"It's Ragnarok! So he does indeed come here often, he was just away for a bit as I thought!"
As she was about to stand up, Tyonis placed his hand on her shoulder, interrupting her. Haneroze looked at him a questioning face, not knowing what were his intentions in doing so. It reminded her of her twin brother when he wanted to say, in a small movement, something like "I'll handle this". Except this wasn't a problematic situation of any sort.
Tyonis, however, decided it was time to take his leave. Haneroze stood up, looking curiously at the man that was leaving in the distance.
"This is... the exact opposite of 'I'll handle this'! What did he mean by that gesture?"
Deciding it wasn't worth thinking much about it, she swept off the dirt off her dress, ran a few steps toward Ragnarok, then greeted him with a bow. She then showed him the notepad with the progress on her pronounciations. But barely half a second passed that she took it back, drew a square at the meeting of the B row and E column, then showed it back again to Ragnarok. The grid was almost half-filled.

The guilty...has paid the price?
The rather rough and gruff-looking Samurai ended up leaving the innocent Shaman and new-coming Assassin. It was strange to say the least. Ragnarok was expecting Tyonis to do something more in this Human's presence, but instead, he just left. The boy didn't know the reasons behind leaving, but neither could the boy continue thinking about the topic at hand.
"Well...See you later then."
Even though Ragnarok's tone was slightly filled with confusion, he changed his disposition on the situation to a kinder note as Tyonis left. He couldn't have Haneroze to be worried about that situation, so he just let the sudden thoughts about the Samurai alone.
As Haneroze ended up greeting Ragnarok with a bow, he couldn't help himself but chuckle and smile at her. She was so kind and innocent most of the time that Ragnarok just couldn't stop himself. However, those mannerisms eventually turned to a more calmer, serious, and slightly benevolent tone as she showed off her notepad with the grid on it.
"Wow Rose! You've really improved since I've last seen you. I guess you must've gotten a lot done with that guy... Well, would you like to stop for today and continue some time later? Or continue with me for a little bit?"
Ragnarok was generally impressed with the improvement she had, but also slightly jealous that he wasn't able to do as much help as Tyonis. Perhaps, he could learn a few pointers on teaching pronunciation from him...But then, Tyonis could just teach it to Haneroze instead of doing that. If that happened, then Ragnarok wouldn't really be needed to Haneroze. He was slightly saddened by the sudden thoughts of losing the ability to talk to her and teach her as well, but he shrugged it off only moments later, placing it at the back of his head. He ended up keeping a small smile and a calm face towards the mute girl, hoping that they'd be able to stay for just a bit longer.

Haneroze smiled at the praise, although she thought she felt a bit of jealousy, with some sort of subtle focus on mentioning Tyonis. Haneroze brought back her notepad toward her, thinking about Ragnarok's proposition.
"I said I would rest after. But I initially wanted to train with Ragnarok, it'd be a bit mean to leave after he finally arrived... I guess one or two more letters can't hurt much? Then, which one could I ask?"
She looked down on her notepad with a questioning look.
"D is probably a softened T, like B was to P, so I should be able to train by myself. The others are not that useful, except... K, I think this would be a good choice."
She looked back at Ragnarok along with a nod, showed her pad and pointed the letter K. Then, half a second after showing it, she turned and walked back to the river to sit where she was. But just after turning, she noticed that Tyonis' waterskin was still on the ground.
"Ah! His waterskin! He forgot it!"
She slowly ran to it, then momentarily looked toward the direction Tyonis walked away. Then she crouched to pick it up. However, she felt dizzy for a moment once again, making her lose balance and sit on her knees.
"This feeling again? I guess I won't be able to ask him a second consonant..."
She immediately took the waterskin and drank a bit.

Steel was walking through town wondering if there was anything to do around town today. It wasn't long after that that he saw a samurai he knew from an earlier event named Tyonis try to teach a shaman proper pronunciation. He was interested and began watching to see how it would go as it seemed that the girl actually was having trouble with it. Is she mute or something? Steel thought to himself. He then saw an Assassin he didn't know take Tyonis's place as the tutor. After a short bit, he saw her get dizzy and almost fall over. Concerned, he went over to her. "Oy, are you okay?" Steel asked along with some sign language just in case she was deaf too. He then tried to see if he could help her up.

Exhaustion? Maybe...A stop would be better than not.
Ragnarok ended up scratching the back of his head as he waited. He had a calm face, although with slight worry: worry that he'd end up being rejected and have small use for Haneroze. He didn't want to end up useless to her; he wanted to have some kind of meaning to her. After all, he was just that type of person to want to be something to every body. It was his ego that made him this way, and he couldn't stop it. Eventually though, the boy ended up getting his answer.
"Oh, you want to work on K? Well...We can do that. Sure."
He ended up bending slightly forward, taking a closer look at her notepad. He was easily able to spot out that the letter she was pointing to was the letter "K", but in his head, after seeing it, he tried formulate how to properly teach it to her. The jealous thoughts about Tyonis were once more seeping themselves into Ragnarok's thought process. How could he become better than him? How could he better his teaching skills to be better than him? How?
As Haneroze moved to a good spot to sit, Ragnarok followed slowly behind, lagging by only a few meters as he was still deep in thought. His face was slightly saddened, but also slightly angry. He didn't know what to do, but those feelings were eventually interrupted by curiosity when Haneroze began running, his head immediately raised up and he wondered what she was doing. It was only when she had picked up the object, a waterskin, did he realize what was happening.
"Strange...She didn't have that the last time I saw her...Maybe she got it after...Or maybe it was Tyonis'?"
As Haneroze turned her head towards the direction that the boy had left, Ragnarok followed it too, wondering what she was looking at. In the end, his primary guess was that the waterskin belonged to Tyonis. Turning his head back towards Haneroze, Ragnarok began approaching her with a normal walking pace this time. Tyonis was gone, and it was just Haneroze and him. He shouldn't have to worry about the situation...The Samurai was gone and this Assassin was here, teaching the girl who he had taken as a "student". Yet, the worry of the boy began once more as Haneroze ended up stumbling around, until sitting immediately down onto the ground.
"Rose! Is everything okay?"
In an instant, Ragnarok rushed by Haneroze's side, placing his hand on her shoulder. Maybe she needed rest instead of learning more. As much as Ragnarok was jealous about Tyonis being able to teach Haneroze so much more than he did, he didn't really care at that moment. He was worried for her condition more than his own ego's desire. Ragnarok waited for her to finish taking a drink from the waterskin, only speaking after she was done with her drink.
"Are you sure you want to continue working? I don't want you to burn yourself out if you don't want to."

Haneroze deposited the waterskin back on the ground. She already felt much better.
"I guess it's too late now to catch up with Tyonis. And I guess I'll be needing it a little more. It'd probably be a good opportunity to try the telepathy for my first time."
As the fall was a bit abrupt, some of her hair had fallen out of place, so she did a delicate movement of her hand to replace her hair. Then she turned her hand toward Ragnarok with a smile, and nodded to affirm she wanted to continue.
"I should be fine for another consonant. Then I'll rest."
Waiting for Ragnarok to reply, she replaced herself in a more comfortable position to sit in.

Hopefully, I'll do better this time around.
Ragnarok nodded slowly at Haneroze with slight worry in his mind. If she was okay with going on, then he couldn't stop her no matter what happened. He just hoped that everything would be okay with her when they were learning the lesson.
"Alright...Just take it slow when we start, okay?"
The boy kept a calm face, although without a smile as he sat down beside the girl with his legs bent, extending outwards. She wanted to work with K which was somewhat similar to the letter C in some pronunciations. Ragnarok thought for about a minute about how he was going to teach her how to pronounce K, staring down at the ground while he did so.
Ragnarok started thinking about different sounds in his mind and about the procedure on how to do it. He even started to mouth the pronunciations while he processed the whole thing. It was clear that Ragnarok was worried about messing up as well as wanting to make sure Haneroze learned how to pronounce K with all its vowels. Eventually though, after about a minute passed by, the boy turned towards the girl and nodded once, beginning to explain with a somewhat calm, yet slightly nervous tone.
"Well...Pronouncing K...Ka...Ke...Ki...Ko...Ku... Well, I guess...It's like spitting from your throat, just without any use of your tongue to help...Ka...Ki...Ku... The middle of your tongue is also touching the roof of your tongue in the process..."
Ragnarok was less nervous starting off and more worried by the end. Having remembered what Tyonis had been doing with her only made him more flustered in the process. He tried remembering his procedures from when he was helping her when they first met and what he could do to change them so they'd benefit her more. As a result, it ended up with mix tone of calm, yet nervous wreck of an explanation.
Scratching the back of his head, Ragnarok spoke with a somewhat embarrassed tone to Haneroze. It was one of his rarest moments that he ever found himself flustered about teaching something he knew to someone.
"Well...Do you kind of understand what I'm talking about...?"
