Everyday, notices are posted across tavern bulletin boards. Most go unnoticed. Others are marred by spilt mead. This one, however, wears the official seal of the Avon Wardens. That alone is enough to mark it as of extreme importance to those schooled enough in the ways of the world. But, unlike most posters of its type, there is no grand reward for one's efforts. Only the gratitude of the local populace and a word of acknowledgement from the Wardens.

Thus, most Adventurers look no further than the seal before selecting a job of far greater monetary value.
But for those who seek to make safer the city in which they reside and to stand up for basic human civility, the Warden's written word cannot be overlooked.

'To any and all willing to bear arms for the good of the realm, the Wardens of Avon request your aid. Evil stirs under the sands of the Thames Coastline. To those who would stand against this darkness, the Wardens invite you to their headquarters along the Thames River.'

Tyonis unrolled the poster as he approached the guarded building. Unlike the others nearby, it was a legitimate fortress made entirely of wood. His studies of European architecture told him it was a traditional motte-and-bailey castle surrounded by a sharpened palisade. A Warden stood, his eyes inspecting every inch of the parchment before ushering the Samurai inside. Another man stood expectantly behind the gates. With a wordless sweep of his arm, he motioned for Tyonis to follow.

The swordsman spared a few glances left and right. The bailey, the keep's largest area and the Warden's primary living space, was just as how he'd imagine medieval life to be. He felt a childish tug when his eyes came across the stables. The desire to pet and ride one of the animals almost overwhelmed his common sense. If the Wardens weren't glaring daggers at him, he probably would have gone over and tried.

His guide eventually took him to a small building with the bailey. The man pushed open the door and waved Tyonis in. A great stench assaulted his nostrels and made him gag out loud.

"Ha! Welcome to the Warden's prison," came a man from behind a set of iron bars. He stepped out from behind his protective barricade and held out a hand. Tyonis managed to recover and gave the scroll, a scowl plastered across his face.

"So, you're the only one that answered the summons, eh? Blast. I don't have the manpower to spend on culling the rest of these slavers..." He pointed at a spartan, wooden chair. "Have a seat, Adventurer. We'll wait it out and see who else shows up. Tonight's our last shot at taking down the leader of this cartel. If no one else shows up, we're gonna have to let him go. Ain't wasting anymore men on that cur."

[Leo]

Leo stood on the other side of the street, watching the wardens from afar. He wasn't exactly hiding, but acted casual enough to keep a low profile. He actually expected something grander from this place, as it turned out, it was nothing more than a motte-and-bailey, surrounded by a sharp palisade. Enough to keep the criminals in, but he wondered are the people of this world ready to contain an adventurer within these walls, or perhaps there is a special place for just that, somewhere out of sight.

His expressive, yellow eyes, once again befallen up on the parchment he took from one of the inns. It bore stains of beer, fat, oil and also something sticky. Someone had little love for the law, or the places he slept at were just cheap and messy, most likely the latter. The werecat scratched his head a bit, yawning loudly it was a very slow day. This quest could not be done by just one person, and so he waited for other adventurers to show up, even one which would inside  first, just so he could see if its safe. Who knows, maybe the wardens were actually an evil organisation that wanted to catch and experiment on adventurers, nobody would miss a few. 

This world was so bizarre, so different form the game he used to play, and even though it made him happy, it also brought plenty of concerns. Finally though an adventure type shown up and from the looks of it, he was not immediately sized and brought in to the dungeons. So far so good.

He pushed his back away from the wall he has been leaning against, and walked forward with the left hand in his pocket, while the right one held the said parchment outstretched. The warden which was the first guard took the document and inspected it thoughtfully, eyeing the werecat in a suspicious way.

"You look like a trouble maker, best don't cause any..." his raspy, unpleasant voice scratched at Leos ears in the most uncomfortable way. He got used to being viewed as a "villain" or a "trouble maker" due to his looks. In response, his maw became a wide, cheerful grin which made his guide flinch slightly. "Come on..." he grunted.

Be was brought to the same small building just in time to hear "...If no one else shows up, we're gonna have to let him go. Ain't wasting anymore men on that cur.". His throat swallowed hard, but not because of the stench, that he had daily, after all without con one can't allow himself to sleep at an inn, and he had no friends with a home here, instead what frightened him, was the obvious realization, that he's the second person here, which meant that either nobody cares for these people or he'll be among killers that go there to serve bloody justice. 

It was time to get acquainted. The werecat took a long step forward towards the white haired samurai and wrapped his arm around his shoulder, grinning in a cheerful, excited way, as best friends do when they meet. "Glad to see someone here still believes in some justice, name's Leo, and I can see we're going to make an excellent team." his voice was pleasant, grown, and yet a childish in some manner.

[Sophia]

Sophia stood in front of opened pathway between the timber palisade that surrounded the castle. As a historian of European medieval history, she could easily tell this was a motte-and-bailey castle, and she was marveled to be in the presence of such an artifact of military medieval warfare. Even though she has in fact visited a couple of castle like this one back in the real world, but has never seen any that were actually operational like the one before her. It made her excitement grew, had given her the urge to see the rest of the castle. Her gaze drifted over to the one of the guards by the gate, who has been eyeing her for quite sometime. She did look awfully suspicious standing around and spending an unusual amount of time examining the palisade. 

She walked over to the guard, sweetly smiling at him before handing over her papers to see the Warden about a requested mission. The guard took them off her hands and looked at them closely. After he was done read through it, he motioned his hand for her to come in. She walked through the gate happily smiling. She and the guardsman walked through what she could tell was the bailey where the Warden's live. As the walked through the open plot of land, she saw the horse stables. Maybe if she comes back from this mission, they'll might give a tour around the place as a reward. The finally reach a small building within the bailey and entered inside. The moment the door was opened, a smell blew past through it. 

"We got another one." said the guard, before Sophia entered the room everyone was in. "Hello! I'm Sophia and I'm here about the mission." she said, giving a friendly gesture of her hand and smiling sweetly to the men present.

[Mokusu]

Mokusu stand in awe as he approached the outskirt of the guarded building. He still haven’t gotten used to his surroundings after the Apocalypse, so like the first time he enter the game – physically – he felt the curiosity creeping up to him, and a slight of fear, pushing to and pulling him away from the building. So he just stood a few feet at the side of the guarded pathway, silently debating to himself as he pulled out the quest parchment out of his inventory using the his interface.

After a few minutes, the Fox Tail let out a sigh of defeat and approached the guardsman, awkwardly nodded his head at him as a sign of greeting before showing him the parchment at hand. The guardsmen examine the bright orange Fox Tail, equipped with his starter gear and a whip strapped on his waist, before taking the piece of paper off the Fox’s hand and starts to examine them.

“I hope I’m on the right place,” Mokusu chuckled and the guard gave him a judging eye in reply. His hand was behind him fiddling with the tip of his tail, waiting for the guardsman to finish inspecting the piece of paper.

“With me,” The guardsman spoke to the Fox Tail, putting the piece of paper away before leading the way passed the timber palisade and into the bailey area. Keeping a few paces behind the guard, Mokusu couldn’t help but felt fascinated by what is inside as they walked through the courtyard-like area heading to a small building. When they reached the said building, his guide turn around to face the Fox Tail and point at the door behind him with his thumb, “In there,” Was all he said before walking back to his post.

Mokusu said his thanks and bowed to the guardsman as he passed by him before opening the door. Greeted by the stench, the Fox Tail backed away in surprised, he let out a cough to clear his senses before entering the building and upon seeing the other adventurer inside, “S-S-Summoner, Mokusu.” Mokusu did a 90 degree bow. “And I’m here for the job” His tone gave away that he was nervous.

One morning, in a room in the secluded library located in the Tower of London, the silver-haired fox was snoring gently on his bed with a book in hand. He spent the whole night reading up on the lore of Londinium because he didn’t have anything to do. Now that he was basically the leader and only remaining active member of the guild Avarice-- well… about as active as he could be, at least. Uzume was sleeping soundly next to his head. The pompous Carbuncle was being a bit less glamorous lately. She wasn’t showing off, trying to convince Shira to buy her nice things, nothing. She could sense her Summoner’s worries of running a guild. It was worse because he didn’t know when his guildmates would get back. Shiranui awoke when the sunlight filled the room, lighting up the floor littered with cloth from tailoring and different clothes under development on the floor. Among the messy heap was a certain blonde monk’s only clothes. Guess Aura must be taking a dip in the pool. That made him feel a little bit better, knowing that he wasn’t living alone. As he propped himself up, he felt something brush against his hand. He realized he had not desummoned Uzume yet and his mana bar was almost done. With a flick of his hand, he dispelled the enchantment that kept Uzume in this world. Sweet dreams, sweetie. In the meantime, he should be looking for a job. It’s been a while since his last quest. So far, he’d done nothing but sneak through strange dungeons and hunt down loot with Capsule. I hope she gets back soon… he thought to himself, as he dressed himself up, put on his gloves and set off to find a something to make money off of. He took his time in walking around so that he should have his mana back by the time he found one. A Lander was looking for some people to help him with some sort of “evil” by the Thames. The only evil thing Shira could think was that channel squid that tried to drown both him and Capsule. It was through a large portion of luck and a little bit of wit that got them out of that mess and into the awkward mess that was Capsule’s unneeded… “resuscitation.” With elegant stride and his tails swaying low, he walked towards the prison by the coast. He was feeling pretty out of it today, but he felt like he needed to give the guild a little bit more exposure to other people. It occurred to him that Avarice may not have the appeal of high level players such as the ones in the guild Aeryn but those kinds of things really didn’t bother him. The fox approached the guardsman and gave him a wave. “I hope you haven’t dealt with the problem already, Mr. Guardsman. I just got here,” he said with a slightly teasing tone. “I was ordered to send arriving Adventurers to the waiting room along with the others. Just straight through here, miss,” replied the guardsman, gesturing towards the door. Shira didn’t even want to bother correcting the man. His feminine traits were something he got used to after spending a lot of time with Capsule, who was equally androgynous. With a bow, he thanked the man and entered the prison. He sat down, with legs crossed, on the closest seat he could find, pulled out a book he brought with him from the library and continued where he left off. A strange fox tail with an nine large bushy tails dressed as if for a ball was bound to attract attention. With that in mind, Shira momentarily lowered his book and gave everyone a kind smile and wave before returning to the written world.
