Apparently he was the only one who wanted a second chance. Or at least, the only one to say it outwardly. A silent sigh escaped Kogeki, more like just a small released breath from his nostrils. Maybe he was just being too serious with this. After all, didn't the rules of anime say that an adventure like this started off with happy levity before the kicker arrived and drove everything downwards into seriousness. He had to admit, though, Nisha's idea of body-portable grimoires or spells was an intriguing idea. Not one that he would use himself obviously, but who knew what sort of interesting things magic wa capable of here. Just as he's about to voice this, however, Nu gives her own speech. " We are here, hm...?" Kogeki found his dark mood lightening somewhat at Nu's statement. The idea of death still horrified and terrified him. Yet if this little girl was capable of moving beyond it, who said he couldn't? That'd been the entire reason for this experience, after all. The only reason he started playing was to learn how to come to grips with his own phobia of the so-called great and final end. " Well said, Nu-sama," he said with a grin, adding the honorific like a true samurai--or utter weeaboo--would. Nobody said he wasn't an otaku. So maybe he should start acting like he really wanted to. " Sadly, I have no lantern myself. I doubt torches would last long in this inclement weather either--although." He pointed up into the sky, where there was a slight breaking in the clouds. " Perhaps we will not be wet all night. Let us not talk of camp just yet. Our adventure is just beginning!" So with a boldness that he'd not felt ever since he arrived here, Kogeki strode forward after Nu, removing his nodachi from his back and holding it by the sheathe in his left hand. He only hesitated for a moment before he stepped outside the gate. " Summon your spirit, Nu. Tonight we go to battle. Allow either me or Nisha to take point--our class is meant to take the blows for our teammates. Let us go and find us a monster." And hopefully this wouldn't end in his own death. *Word Count 393, Total 2,432* *Tags Nursery Rhyme Nisha Arrasi

Nisha was chuckling along as Nu made her embarassingly cheesy opinion known, which was more like something you would expect of someone old or someone not totally serious. And apparently she was not serious, so Nisha did not hold back with her sniggering anymore, but thought about the words Nu had uttered a little. She might have paraphrased them a little, but the words in itself were quite true. "Death is really nothing you should fear, death happens to everyone, rather you should enjoy life." Nisha nodded sagely but with a grin on her face, seeing how her statement was equally cheesy, then went and listened to Ko´s statement that they should take point, only to notice two things, she was the only one with a light and did not know if anyone was even looking at her and that taking point was a bit difficult if you did not even know where the enemy was coming from. "I think it´s best if we don´t appoint only one point man, more is better even more so if you don´t know where enemies might come from." Good thing they at least had a little light with them, that way they would not fall over each other if they actually encountered a monster, but then again, there were enough watery creatures around that the chance they would run into some kind of enemy was not too bad, Nisha just hoped it would not be some pk´s they had a weird tendency to appear under weird circumstances and Nisha did not know the groups stance on player killer killing or how they would see the game afterwards, for Nisha it was just like fighting a monster, but some people regularly lost interest when they had to kill another player. Weird, seeing how they were all still data anyway and they gave exp and stuff just like monsters, sure, it may be argued that this game was pretty not pk-ish, but some people only got their kicks from doing that. "Let´s lure some monster." Nisha said and chuckled at the idea of someone pulling out a fishing rod and really casting it into the sea of darkness around them to pull out a monster dangling from the hook. Though maybe... if you had the fisher subclass? Ah, well, it was time to focus and so she did, wondering out aloud: "Hopefully it will be some small monsters, just imagine something really big, no lantern or light spell is gonna help us then, though... Hitting it would be easier." Laughing out aloud seemingly without care, which she did not really have. Nisha had only died once, before this game had become a trap and with another character so she did not really know what she should have to expect, but she lived by what she said, not caring about how it might end, but rather looking at the now and the short term future. Sighing a little, she put her free hand on the grip of her sword and held the lantern that was bravely lighting a small patch they were standing on over her head, at least until a monster appeared. Then it was time to get serious. Nisha´s tails were wagging in anticipation and her lips were pursed as they went or stopped, trying to listen very hard with her heightened hearing, once more wishing it would be much more heightened, but even this slight advantage was an advantage she could use quite well. Humming a little, she said: "By the way, what kind of music do you guys usually listen to? Just wondering since I hope someone will research some music soon, sometimes I wonder how I could have survived this long without it."Words: 622 Tags: Arrasi Nursery Rhyme KogekiWeapon: Nishan(Scar) Armor: Nishanat (Daybreak) Accessoires: Nishani (Keepsake)

UNKNOWN SONGS THAT TRAVELERS SING THEY SOUND FAMILIAR TO ME |
"Well, it's better than nothing, Nu," Arrasi said. She still regretted that she didn't have a skill to help out on this issue, but there was nothing she could do about that now. All they had to do was work out tactics as they walked and hoped everything would be okay once they ran into their first monster. Nisha already had the right idea: two point-men would be better than one in this case. Even though they had a small party, they were all rather weak and needed all the protection they could get in case of a surprise attack. Nisha could certainly handle it on her own, but that would leave Kogeki out of the chance of gaining some extra EXP on the initial attack. At least, that's how Arrasi thought of it. She tended to work with only one partner, so a party of four was a slightly new experience for her. It would be interesting to see how all this turned out, to say the least.
Now that they were moving along, Arrasi knew of one skill that she could definitely use to make her time worthwhile. "On that note, Nisha, hope you don't mind a quick little tune just to boost our attack speed stat for now," Arrasi said as she opened up her Inventory and equipped her flute. It was still the silly little starter one; she'd have to replace it after this mission if she could find a shop in town to make something better. "I don't know if I'll have enough time to cast it if when run into a surprise attack, so I'll just take care of it right now. I can recast it every few minutes or so to make sure we're prepared." With that, Arrasi put the flute to her lips and tried her best to focus on the skill she wanted: Speed Sword Etude. A lively tune flowed from the flute a few seconds later, Arrasi's fingers moving on their own to key in all the notes. The buff showed up on her status window, and a light glow surrounded her body to show that the skill had worked. She let out a soft sigh as she let her hand fall back down to her side, the flute still in her grip ready for its next use. Using music skills was still something she was going to have to get used to, no matter how weird it felt to actually be able to play musical instruments. At least she hadn't done her special dance skill in front of them - that was going to be embarrassing when she pulled that one out in battle.
"Now that that's taken care of, I'll have you know I prefer classic rock over whatever that silly song was," Arrasi said. "Of course, I don't mind a little bit of Mozart or Beethoven when I'm working on homework. Er, when I was working on homework. I don't think I'll have to deal with that here." That was another weird thought: what kind of music did this world have? Certainly all the musicians from the real world didn't exist here. The soundtrack for the game had been mediocre in Arrasi's opinion, but now it was the real deal. It was probably a reflection of the culture of this world, just like how all of the real world composers reflected the cultures from that reality. At least she didn't have homework to do, so trying to find decent "work music" wouldn't be a problem.

“Hmm give me anything so broad as a genre and I can find something I’ll like, but for the sake of the question, let’s just say Soul. I like what that says about me.”
Two seconds. It’s a frame of time that I’m going to have to become infinitely familiar with. One, Two.
Nu snapped her fingers bringing forth a ‘phantom’.
Three. “Right then, alley-oop. As discussed.”
Nu ordered the ‘phantom’ directly forward and past the frontline. She trusted them completely.
“The flute wasn’t bad either, must be fun being a bard, hmhm. I don’t like the quiet much, the real quiet you know that kind of absolute silence, must be nice to be able to do something proactive about it. I usually have to seek out a breeze.”
Nu closed her eyes and smiled.
“This is fun.”
As the moment passed, the girl’s eyes popped open with a wicked grin.
“Hoho, got something. Look alive people, let’s see our catch.”
Ordering the ‘phantom’ back, Nu waited in position a bit behind and to the right of Arrasi. In a normal situation this would give Nu a wide-viewed approach to the battlefield, but at the moment, it occurred to her, that such a vantage was already lost to the rain and dark. Nu sighed and waited. Her eyes were constantly on the flanks out of concern becoming surrounded.
Like water, when pushed it can envelop in other ways…
Nu decided not to mention this.
It’s important that everyone maintains focus, if we’re that unlucky I’ll do something about it myself, this is my job.
“Time’s up people! Do or die wahahaha~!”
Nu looked like a tiny Captain Morgan as she spoke, but her eyes never quit scanning the foliage for the enemy as she spoke. For a forest, it really is a jungle out here.
“Lower your center of gravity and clench your teeth! Can’t have you biting your tongues or falling over. Nobody can see us out here and everyone else present will be too busy to judge. Remember this is just everyone pulling their own weight alone, together! Who are you in the dark? Only you can say!”
Nu pointed to where her ‘phantom’ should be emerging. She noted her mana bar, she had spent about 1/8th of it already. Attrition-based combat seemed to her inadvisable. The important thing, she decided, was to absolutely never lose momentum. Like a heart, when that stopped so did they.
“There! Ready?! Ready! Swing for the rafters crew! All the way outta the park! Wahaha!”
