One autumn day there was a request placed sometime before noon on the quest board inside of the dinning area of Walter Blue Inn. And on the same day of it's posting Sophia was on her way to kitchen to prepare the finishing touches on lunch, her wondering eyes caught a glimpse of the request as was walking by the quest board. Curiously she took a close look at what was written on the parchment. It was a request for some aid over at a cottage in the Windsor Greatwoods. They needed some adventurers to help bring in some pumpkins from their garden and defend them from the wild beasts within the forest. While she had a moderate interest in the request, there was something else written that peaked it up greatly and that was the reward. The reward for completing the task was, a pumpkin for each person within the part that assisted in the quest. This reminded her that hasn't made nor tasted pumpkin pie in a long while, and even though she would love to make some, she hasn't had much luck finding some pumpkins to make pies out of since they were a hot seller during this autumn season. But if she could complete this quest, she could finally have her chance. Feeling determined, she went into the kitchen and finished her final touches on her roasted beef she had in the oven.
After she was done preparing the lunch for the residents of the inn, she went to the owners to ask if she may go out on a quest to bring back a pumpkin to make pies from for that night's dessert entry. The owners were a elderly couple who her in as a prep cook and then eventually resigned her as a Roast chef. "Pumpkin pie? Boy, that would sound good about now. OK, just be back before dinner time, alright deary?" said the wife while the husband simply nodded in agreement. Sophia thanked them both before she hastily left the inn and headed out to the Windsor Greatwoods. She would had brought her friends along, but on the request it stated that copies of it were sent out to other places around town, so every likely she could guess was that others would also be heading out their for the same quest. When she got to the forestry of the Windsor Greatwoods, she would soon find a old cottage with a field of plump and orange pumpkins sitting behind the fence that separated them from the rest of the forest. Standing on the wooden pranks outside of the cottage, was an old man with white wisps of hair flowing behind him while the top of his head was bald and shining as the rays of light from the sun bounced against his head. He looked at Sophia with a stern face. Also standing on the wooden pranks next to him was a middle-aged man build like a house, with a head full of dark brown hair and had a bearded face. The two seemed to be father and son, as Sophia noticed some similarities in facial structure between them; They both had a squared jaw from what she could see.
In her usual friendly nature, she smiled warmly and gave them a wave of her hand as she approached the wooden steps which lead up to their patio space. "Hello! I'm Sophia and I'm here about a request to help move some pumpkins." The younger of the two men walked up to the edge of the wooden pranks. When he stopped at the edge, he looked over at the blonde heavily armored female with a smile that was mostly obscured by his mustache. "Ah good, me and pa over here were worried that none of you over at town would take on our job. I'm Kenny Lackner and over here is my Pa, Weston Lackner, say hi Pa." The old man simply scoffed and looked away. The son let out a disappointing sigh at his father's antics. "Um sorry, he's a little shy of new faces, don't take it too personally." he said to her while rubbing the nape of his neck, "We'll get started when more folks show up, this job won't be easy with just the two of just." Sophia nodded in agreement. "I understand, so while we're waiting why don't you tell me about yourself?" Sophia said, smiling sweetly and looking up at him with curious eyes. The man smiled at her back. "OK darlin'." While the two spoke, the father retreated back inside the cottage, murmuring something to himself as he went on his way.

Pumpkins... Neon thought to remembered the request he had read back in Londinium, walking through the Windsor Greatwoods to where he the posting had requested for any Adventurers to go. "I haven't had pumpkin in ages," he mumbled softly as he followed the winding paths and roads leading through the forests. Back in his childhood days as a farmer's son, he had always loved his mother's freshly cooked pumpkin. It had been many years since he had been able to taste any pumpkin at all, let alone his mother's own recipe, so when he spotted the request and read it to himself, he was immediately on board. As he continued to walk, his nerves began to kick in, clutching at his staff as he remembered that the request had stated that other copies just like it had been spread throughout the London Area. This meant other Adventurers would no doubt be there. In a way, he was glad of this, given his inability to do any serious damage in combat as a support class, which meant he would likely need others to help him with the job anyway. However, he hadn't been around as much as he probably should have been since arriving in Elder Tale, so this would be a very very new experience for him. Shaking his head, ridding himself of his nerves by shoving them to the back of his mind, Neon continued on, spurred by the promise of fresh pumpkins as reward for a job well done. All I have to do is find a suitable chef to cook them, he thought to himself, though if all the other Adventurers were like him, he had no doubt he'd find a capable chef in no time. As he stepped out into a small clearing, he spotted through the trees a cottage not far off. "That's the place," he noted to himself, smoothing out his cloth to make himself more presentable to both the quest givers and the other Adventurers, before making his stride once again, beginning his walk up the path towards the cottage. As he approached the cottage, he looked around him at the field of bright orange, luscious pumpkins, some of them as big as his head, if not bigger. Brings back memories... He thought to himself, sighing softly before returning to the task at hand. As he began closing in on the front porch, he spotted three people, two of them being the obvious farmers, a father son duo if he ever saw one. The third one was different however, a woman, and judging by her gear, she was clearly an Adventurer. Alright, take it easy, good first impressions..."I see you came for the request as well," he said softly as he approached the woman from behind, moving up to walk alongside her as she too approached the cottage.

Magma was walking arouns town with his Zweihander in it's holster and his blue tail swaying from left-to-right. He managed to figure out how to play this game, but was still new to it. The first thing he wanted to do was do a quest. When he looked at the board in the city, the first thing that caught his eye was pumpkin. He immediately picked up the paper and headed into the forest. Upon entering the forest, Magma got lost. Since he just started playing the game(Actually trying to play instead of moping) He didn't know where most locations were, so he decided to wander around in hopes t find the cabin. after several minutes Magma had the shack in view and approached it cautiously. When Magma got close to the cabin, he tripped over a rock and fell as his sword made a big crash.
He picked up his sword and proceeded to the back where there was an old man and a girl. Magma cautiously poked Sophia on her shoulder and rubbed the back of his head. "Is this where the pumpkin quest takes place" Magma pulled out the paper and showed it to Sophia. Magma then noticed the old man and knew, this was a person of the land. Magma moved Sophia out of the way to talk to the old man.
"Hi, do you need help with pumpkins?" he pointed to the paper that he held in his hands and looked at the pumpkins. Finally, he noticed the enchanter who stood near Sophia. Magma simply waved before getting back to the conversation between him and the old man. After a little bit of talking, Magma then turned the two and bowed. "I am sorry for being rude and not introducing myself, I am Un-......Magma, Magma Hirimito." Magma held his hand out to shake the two adventurer's hand.
Magma used his game name and did not prefer using the name he was given by his mom. He wasn't too proud of his name. "Please ignore that stutter." Magma took his time to use some of his manners and try to make new friends.

Arawnn was casually leaving a tavern, there was no work for him here, before a single word caught his eye from the board. Pumpkins. It was that time of season, right? Course it was. He read further, reading about that they would need to defend a pumpkin, and then the reward was a pumpkin. ‘So, a free pumpkin if we can defend a patch of pumpkins. Interesting.’ He chuckled, “From my guesses, they could use a bard.” He smiled as he marked down the location, and memorized the directions before leaving the inn. As he walked exactly down the center of the road out of town, and then through the woods, he saw the cabin off in the distance. There were five objects from what he could see, and they were all moving. As he moved closer he realized, yeah they were people, and three of them looked more prepared for a fight than the other two.Two of the three mentioned prior were obviously front-liners, with red-head’s thick armor, or the guy with the blue hair’s massive sword. The third? He seemed like the mage type. Looks like this group could use a damage dealer, not a bard. Oh well, everyone has use for a bard.
Arawnn almost had to jump up the steps due to his sheer smallness of size before he stood among the four. “Ah, I see four of us have cravings for pumpkins. Greetings, I am Arawnn (R-On), pleasure to be your acquantance.” He visibly bows in Sophia’s direction, while still facing the other two men of the party. Words: 265

Post by Rihn Autumnfall on Nov 19, 2014 22:49:44 GMT
| Notes Sorry for the delay. :) Word Count 377 Walking out of one of the many Inn's of Londinium everyone's favorite Druid finds herself with nothin to do, for once. She once over heard adventures talking about finding jobs from a quest board, a sign where others posts up requests for help. So Rihn figured why not let's see what she can find. Find something she did, another lander posted up a request for help harvesting pumpkins. The request also stated in might be dangerous because of wild animals in the forest. It was that last warning that made Rihn almost reconsider taking up the quest, but she thought if it was dangerous and other adventures might not make it without a healer, that sealed the deal.
Turning on her heel Rihn headed straight for the Greatwoods where the request said to go. Rihn had finally started to get her bearings in Londinium so it was easy for her to navigate to the gates. The first time she had to go outside the city she wandered around lost for several hours, she finally had to ask a passer by for directions. As Rihn walked to the gates she sighed, the inn was a nice place to stay and all, but she misses having a place to herself. She wondered if the adventures here would allow a lander to purchase property so she could have some place she could call home. It would cost money, which sadly is something Rihn doesn't have. It didn't take Rihn long to reach the gates of the city and get to the cottage where the quest would take place.
A short distance away from the cottage Rihn can make out four adventures and two landers, two Guardians, a Enchanter and a bard, but she couldn't tell what classes people were yet so she could only really guess what they were. As she walked up to the group she was worried there wouldn't be room left, but she pushes this thought from her mind since she is not the pessimistic type of person. Waving to the six people and putting on a friendly smile she looks at everyone before saying anything. "Hello, I hope I'm not late." she says to no one in particular as she walks up next to the group. Code by Neun of ET. Artwork from Alchemical Meister. |
