As we start to get active and get more members, I am thinking of purchasing a Guild Hall. Well, it's more like I want one. I want a place HoC can call its home and have a place for you all to call home IC as well. BUT, I don't want some rinky dink house. I'm looking to buy something big, something we can use, and something we can fix up for the rest of the Forum to enjoy. With that in mind, I'm turning my eyes towards you all for some ideas. I have a few places in mind and will list them below. Let me know if y'all agree, disagree, and post any other suggestions you guys have!
I'm really looking forward to this Guild's success and I want you guys to have fun while you do it. Remember, this Guild hall is going to need repairs no matter what we buy. That being said; let's pick something we all can enjoy having.
First Pick: The Fairy Gate.
This is essentially a teleporter system in Elder Tale. It's broken at the moment but allows us to go to places. To fix it, we need a group of magical members to work on a teleportation ability and then tune the actual gate to do our bidding. Once we have it active, we can explore various other regions and dimensions before other players can.
Second Pick: Parliament Building
At the core of the city and at the center of many thing Adventurous, like Guilds and such, is this building. Should we have control over it, we would have a hand in nearly everything in Londinium. It'll be expensive, but it could be done. I'm honestly not really sure what would happen if we bought it, but I'm going to ask Saki about it.
First Pick: London Eye
The London Eye is a massive ferris wheel that sits on a river. The wheel is inoperable but once we get it to move, we can use it. Upon getting it, we'd also be given access to a few building around the wheel and a dock, which can be easily fixed up. We can create various rooms for the wheel cars to teleport players too once we get it set up and we can use the docks for a harbor, allowing up to have direct access to transportation on the water. It'll take some work, and we will most likely have to call on other players to help us with rebuilding, but this spot seems like a very viable Guild Housing Unit.
Second Pick: Oxford University
The University is pretty much what is says it is; a University. Said building has no strategic value but will give members the ability to have a place to rest and relax. We can transform the University to encompass many of our needs as a Guild. We can transform it to suit our needs and we will gain access to the illustrious Oxford library.
Third Pick: Edinburgh Castle
Far to the north of London, just near the border of Scotland, is this castle. It is a small fortress sat atop the hills and is a high defensible position. It has high walls and is raised off the ground on all sides but one, which is heavily protected. It will take a lot of work to rebuild the castle, but it will give us a solid area to work with. In addition, it is near the water. We can purchase a harbor nearby or create a fortified zone where we can build one that will be close enough for us to use it without having to travel far. This will probably take a lot of work to rebuild, but if we do it correctly, we can take advantage of all this Castle has to offer us. It will give us a solid position to defend the Guild, is a decent distance from the others so London will have no influence on our operations, and we will have access to a harbor once we create it. This harbor will connect us to the seas and effectively to London and VA.
I'll set up a poll here eventually once we have enough choices between different housing units. If you can't come up with any, that is okay, but remember; this is going to be your Guild's Home IC. Think of a place your character would enjoy going everyday.
