Guardian - Cavalier - Brewer ____________________________________________________
Sharp thrusts of her spear had ripped through the spider, skewering his husk on the tip of her spear. She hoisted him up and flung him towards a wall where the creature had burst into anima bubbles after flailing it’s legs about in it’s tortured state. Saskia’s warhorse, Icarus, whined roughly as she shook his head and puffed hot air from his snout, still under the startling effects of the beast. It seemed apparent that Saskia’s bold colt had developed a case of Arachnophobia as it backed away from the dissolving spider.
“Come on now, Icarus, you’re much braver than that. Toughen up!” Saskia muttered tenderly as she leaned over and gazed into the horses chocolate eyes from within the darkness of the Old Quarry Caverns.
The horse bobbed his head and began licking at the surface of the dirt as shook his shimmering golden mane as the muscles in his legs bulged as he trotted forward at a steady gait.
The dynamic duo had shared a bond that burst into a bountiful friendship over the subtle flow of time. Saskia had raised the war horse herself from when he was but a mere shire. She spent nearly every waking moment with him as she was an animal lover and enjoyed the serenity she had found within his company. At first, he was a wary and cowardly spirit, meek in all matters pertaining to combat. However, in the recent months he had managed to mature greatly and become a more effective and reliable ally.
Both of them had undergone many perilous journeys and devoted their full trust in one another to subdue whatever adversaries had stood in their way. Today, there mission was a simple one. They were to embark deep within the quarry to clear it out of monsters so that merchants could use the path freely for trade. She had wanted to do the service as a favor to one of her friends, who just so happened to be an aspiring merchant who wanted access to use the path herself. Saskia lowered her level down to twenty as was needed for the requirements to undergo such a quest. She felt a bit hesitant as she wondered how she and Icarus would manage against the entire horde of spawn without and support. She decided that it would be most efficient to wait near the entrance and find solace in the idea that maybe their was someone already lurking within close by that she could link up with so that they might be able to rise to the occasion and complete this quest together. Saskia valued the concept of strength in numbers.
Sure enough, she spent countless hours training to build herself to be an impenetrable wall, but what was a shield without a sword?

Current Weapons: Left Fist & Right Fist Current Armor: Starting Cloth Armor Current Accessories: N/A "HOLY SHIT!"Crashing from the sky wasn't exactly the norm during questing and the fact he'd set the quest to "join random" didn't much help either. Making impact on the ground with a large "oof!", he jolted up from the pain that spiked up his body; holding his back still as he arched over and groaned. "God DAMNIT that hurt"! He turned to the hallucination of Megani, placing his hand on her shoulder as he reached into his pocket and searched for a potion or two; he found nothing . "80% health..damn that's going to be a bother.." Megani's eyes widened, body filling with fear as Mellow stopped in his tracks; already knowing what she was going to say before she said it. "Let me guess..a frickin' monster is behind me..isn't it?" She nodded frantically; Mellow letting out a sigh as he bawled his fists and quickly pivoted around "WELL THEN LET'S neepIN' DO IT ALREADY! HAAAAAAH!". Wait a moment, I think we're getting a bit ahead of ourselves..you guys don't know what brought us here do you? Let me go ahead and rewind a bit and let the narrator explain this from the start; maybe then you'll understand this post a little bit better. --- BEFORE THIS EVENT---"Hey Mellow?" "Yeah?""I'm bored, want to go do a quest?""Yeah sure, why not."Mellow and Megani hadn't exactly been doing much aside from the few quests he did with his guild mates. Speaking of his guild mates, the lot of them were involved in a bunch of things he and Hawk had designed to get them started in this world; he didn't actually have much to do on his own. Not only that but due to the fact he made Megani meet the members in his steed, she wasn't entirely up to taking on any more requests at the moment. "I have host this time, right?" She let out a sigh "Yeah, you can have it, I'll just chill in the blackness for a while and come back later." He nodded "Alright then, what are we searching for"? A large interface appeared with all the questy quests they could handle; only one immediately calling to Megani's mind. "OH OH, SPIDERS! LET'S DO THIS ONE ABOUT SPIDERS!" He began reading the contents of the quest; a grin appearing from behind the mask "Level 20+ monsters, huh?..I can dig it.." She placed her hand on his, frowning due to already know how he'd react to what she was about to say "Mellow, my dear, I'm not saying you aren't strong but.. maybe consider joining a random group?"..."WHAT?!"Mellow was outraged by her comment yet he completely understood her reasoning; after-all, they shared the same mind space. He wanted to take on the whole world, but at the moment he had no potions on him what-so-ever; if he took too many hits by himself it would be a problem. "Alright, I completely understand.." He clicked on the spider quest then selected the "random group" option; hovering his finger over the "BEGIN QUEST" button. " Are you ready?..No telling who we might meet once we arrive?" She stepped next to him, her hand and fingers intertwining with his as she gave him a securing nod "Let's do this, Mellow". [Accepted. Quest Loading . . . .]---- THE QUEST ----"WELL THEN LET'S neepING DO IT ALREADY! HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" He charged at the spider all but a moment too late; the tip of a spear ripping through the spider's insides and skewering it's husk. She hoisted it up into the air and threw it against the wall; anima bubbles dispersing from it's current location. He fell silent, smitten by such an overwhelming display of power. "Woah...this chick's rad..". Before him was a pink-haired woman riding a well trained stallion. Reading from her information, he knew all that he needed to know yet felt this wasn't all she had to offer. She was much stronger than any level 20 he would imagine; what gives with that? After taking a moment to discuss what to do with Megani, he eventually mustered the courage to approach the woman and speak with her; if she hadn't noticed him already. *Cough cough* "Yo. I see you're doing this quest too? Looks like we'll be in a party together. The name's Mellow, if it means anything to you." word count;1362 Avalon's wolffish ears perked up in curiosity hearing the people of the land chattering loudly about their many complaints about the adventurers who they assumed were attempting to take over their jobs, lands, and their irritatingly boisterous attitudes. As she listened to their useless ramble in the Londonium area, her face twisted into a scoff of disgust and her fingers twitched into an urge to shoot down one of the people of the land as a Hunter should do so. Those ungrateful bastards. Shouldn't they be thankful for the adventurers helping improve their community and completing quests when they asked for the help? Noticing a pig faced young man talking loudly about those so-called woes caused by adventurers, her fists clenched until it was colored white and her amber eyes flashed dangerously as it caught the lander's eyes. There was a hint of cruelty in her eyes though almost immediately her glowing facade swept over and a smooth grin appeared out of nowhere. The lander had been caught off guard and stumbled back a few paces into a moving wagon and comedically fell flat with a squeal. It was just right. She chuckled thinking that it wasn't surprisingly--like the pig she thought he was from the beginning. Walking outward from the bustling town, she saw some people of the land smiling and waving their hands at her. She waved with a grin at those people of the land as she passed by them. This interaction wasn't surprising. She realized a while back that the more she walked toward the outside of the town, the more the people of the land were actually more accepting of many adventurers passing by. It may be because those people might have traveled lands where they were able to observe the adventurers in action and those were usually the ones who had no problem asking adventurers for their assistance. Avalon actually got along just fine with some of them and even enjoyed spending time with them and their families. The food they offered in kindness wasn't that great and quite bland but she made it a point to swallow it whole and chew the rest to pretend the food was better than she thought it was. It had taken a while for them to break down their shields of wariness of an adventurer but helping them when they asked for it, she gradually earned their friendship and trust. They reminded her of those she left back home and she was comfortable with the pretend family she made over time. Her ears twitched for a second in interest as she overheard some people of the land gossiping about monsters and the merchants who were in need of some assistance to get rid of them. Maybe she should help them out? It was not like she was doing anything else at the moment anyway. She did need the experience and she quite needed to get rid of some steam especially since the prior incident some minutes ago. After all, it would not be wise to hold in her annoyance and unintentionally lash out at some innocent stranger who did not deserve her treatment of them. That wouldn't be good for her growing reputation to lash out and would only prove true that adventurers were actually dangerous. Still, she knew she knew adventurers but only to an extent, most adventurers she had met held a high moral code they kept with them from the real world though unfortunately had some exceptions. There was a hitman subclass that allowed player killing, which left a bitter taste in her mouth. Who would want such a subclass when it was condoned and illegal in the real world? Someone who had a low moral code from the beginning of course. Still, this world changed people and personalities could become warped in a place that released most restrictions. This was a very different fantastical world full of many rules and other such things she still was learning to get used to. After she strolled toward the small group of chattering landers, she inquired about the merchants who needed help. The landers all paused a long few seconds and some of them narrowed their eyes in wariness but others stared at her in curiosity. It unnerved her momentarily though she cleared her throat getting rid of the tension she held. When she emphasized that she only wanted to help the merchants out, they gushed on how their friends' plight on needing the quarry cleared out for trade and they had children they had to support. She widened her eyes on the emotions they displayed for their merchant friends' since this almost always took her by surprise on their human like displays of emotions. From the beginning, she only considered them robotic NPCs who she bought things from and sent her on quests to earn some easy gold. They didn't mean anything to her at all but now, things were vastly changed. The people of the land had different personalities, attitudes, philosophies, and other such human behavior she had once never expected them to have. A person of the land actually moved her to tears of their stories of struggles and love they faced throughout their life. The merchants she contacted had thanked her for volunteering to help clear out the monsters in the cavern. She had casually acknowledged their thankfulness with a flash of a genuine smile, she trotted out of their humble cottage. Once she officially accepted the merchant quest, she landed herself near the old quarry caverns with a thump that she had to place both her hands to the ground to maintain her balance. She did not want to hilariously stumble to the ground like the pig of a land had do so earlier. That would be so embarrassing. She carefully got back up from the position and stretched out her arms in order to relax her body for the impending quest at hand. She also had to shake off the landing as well. Pausing for a moment, she wondered if there was going to be others to support her in this quest. Although her attacks were strong because of her assassin type class, her long range abilities took time for her to aim and shoot down her prey. She was not disappointed to say the least, a wolf hair guardian and human monk was already there probably waiting for more adventurers to assist them. She was getting worried but it should be fine now. She examined her questing partners in the party. The guardian with hair as beautiful as the Sakura flowers flowing in the wind looked imposing and her horse ready for battle. She was slightly envious on the level difference of four at the moment but at the same time, relieved that the strong pink haired woman looked like a capable adventurer. Her class as a guardian would be the shield to the sword and protect her and the monk with all her might she hoped. She glanced over to the monk as she walked closer and widened her eyes in recognition. It was the strange adventurer, her guild master. Mellow definitely seemed like a weird fellow who puzzled her with the ever changing personalities that she wanted to understand but most times, was at a lost for. Sometimes she played a guessing game on who she would come across either Mellow or his crazy alter-ego. The woman unnerved her with her aura of unpredictability. She greeted her guild master with her mouth curved upward an an eye smile. "Hey there master," she said jokingly, "didn't expect to see you here," as she light-heartedly saluted Mellow with her fangs out in enjoyment. She was pleased that she knew someone in the quest. She addressed the female guardian, "Nice to meet you. You're really pretty though I'm not interested in girls, if you thought that for a second," she chuckled to herself and continued, "Anyway, name's Avalon or Ava for short. A Hunter for hire," as she cocked her head in a smile. She paused for moment glancing around for a moment and asked "So is this everyone?" out of curiosity. Saskia MellowCODED BY DUCKIE OF GS

“How on earth did I get lost? I have a map!” Steel said in annoyance as he looked around the caverns he was walking through. “Oh wait, I never looked at it.” He deadpanned before doing a mental face palm as he accessed the map he had made. With that in hand, he found himself back on the correct path as well as one with monsters. Steel was now facing three Cavern Spiders. Their levels were 21, 23, and 24. The one that was level 21 was in the back and was trying to lay an egg as the spiders in front were protecting it. “Looks like I’ve got to use it.” Steel said to himself as he drew out the sword for his right hand. In his left hand was pieces of paper with writing on it. With a shout, he threw his pieces of paper at the spiders before shouting out “Explode!!” Upon saying those words, the paper, or more specifically the ink on the paper exploded, dealing the spiders fire damage and effectively destroying the egg that had been laid. This was the new set of items that Steel had made using his scribe crafting skills, Explosive Runes, a type of ink that when read, it would explode. In the confusion, Steel charged at the monsters with his sword in hand and began slashing at them. Due to his level, he was able to cut them down quite easily. For the last one, he stabbed into its abdomen with his blade before it burst into anima fragments. With the battle done, Steel continued down the path while keeping out his sword just in case any more monsters were to pop out. He did have to go through another one or two of those skirmishes but they weren’t too much trouble due to the level difference between him and the monsters. He reached a certain area and saw familiar faces. It was Saskia, a girl he had met a while ago due to a situation that Steel didn’t really want to mention and there was Avalon, a girl he went on a quest on previously, a rather dangerous quest actually. Another guy there as well. From the positions of the three, Steel could figure out that Saskia had just saved the guy’s butt from a monster which was already shattering into anima fragments. It seemed that the guy was trying to be smooth and perhaps flirt with Saskia and was completely unaware of the Cavern Spider about to come out from the ground. “Oy, look out!” He exclaimed as he shot his gun at the emerging arachnid before clapping his hands, activating the skill Ante up to make the sword that was still sheathed move according to his will to stab at the spider. After a while, the spider lost all of its health points and burst out into anima bubbles. Once that was done, Steel got over to where the three were. “Long time no see Saskia, Avalon how you’ve been?” He then said something that was directed towards all of them. “You should remember to not be distracted, especially in an area like this.” Words: 528 OCC: Sorry for taking so long! Guardian - Cavalier - Brewer ____________________________________________________
The person that had arrived first was nothing like what she had expected. He was a rather wild an energetic monk that seemed to have a rather eccentric personality. From what she could sense at first from the masked man’s vibe was that because of the level of his excitement. He probably had a passion for gaming. Generally, a passion for gaming meant that a person was usually good at it, so she decided to think positively of the first vibe she got from the man. He seemed to talk in a slight bit of an urban slang, to which Saskia squinted her eyes slightly, until she caught the glance of a roaming wolf hair with hair as deep blue as the bottom of an ocean.
Saskia shining sapphire gaze shined upon her as Icarus whined gently. From the looks of it, the woman was an assassin, so fortunately they would have a boost of damage at their side. She was glad that at least there was diversity among them. Her gaze shifted back to the other tank. She began to wonder if he specialized moreso in defense or attack. Judging by how his assault pattern seemed to be of a more proactive and offensive nature than reactive and defensive, she inferred that maybe he was more of an offensive player.
Saskia’s eyes looked over them, subtly studying their facial features as the blue haired woman’s eyes would dilated at the sight of the male. Even better, they had already been acquainted, which means that, hopefully, they had already worked together before and that would make building synergy a lot more easier if Saskia allowed herself to conform to bringing in her share to the group.
She raised a pink brow at the boy at the mention of him being called ‘Master’. Was he a guild leader? Or merely someone who trained her? Judging by the salute, she figured it was a fellow guild leader.
Saskia smiled at the girl as she spoke and lightheartedly chuckled at the comment she made. “Why thank you, you’re quite gorgeous yourself. And does the armor make me look that much of a lesbian?”
Saskia then snickered and shook her head in an embarassing manner. “Heh, no worries I sometimes get that a lot. I guess people aren’t used to seeing a tanky girl. Most of them kinda see us as mages. But I guess there’s a few rare badasses like me and you that stray from the path of the token female cleric...”
“My name’s Saskia Steelheart. I’m a guild leader for Vylbrand Academy. I take it you two are in a guild together, with you as the leader?” She inquired, inspecting his level. “And by the looks of it, you started one as soon as you hit level fifteen. That’s pretty bold. Good luck to you and your guild. I’m sure you’ll do well. “ She smiled in nod of affirmation.
“I think this might be it-...shit!” Saskia gritted her teeth as her gaze fell upon the spider. She began to grip the reins tightly, preparing for another valiant charge, before the spider was shot down.
“What the hell...Steel is that you?” Saskia squinted as she tried to make out the silhouette. “Wow...it’s my old Sensei! Ha! I remember when we used to hunt boars together for my firt battle ever! That was freaking amazing. I haven’t seen that russian beserker around since. Hopefully he is doing okay. “
Saskia then smirked. “Well, it seems that we have a pretty balanced party and everyone seems to know someone in some way or the other. Things should be looking good for us. I got a good feeling about this team.”

HP: 100%MP: 100% Monk - Tailor - Beserker | | He hadn't exactly expected another guild member to join this party, let alone the most skilled of the newest recruits. She greeted him and gave him a salute, the title "Master" only inflating his ego that much larger as he shoved his hands in his pockets; kicking at the ground in an embarrassed fashion. "Aw shucks, you shouldn't have..hehehe". Megani frowned greatly, placing her hands on her hips as she'd grown just a tad too jealous for her liking. "Wow, it looks like you're really giving them some attention, huh?" Mellow stopped, almost in shock as he let out a chuckle and immediately began mocking her "A-ha-ha-re you jealous of them? Megani, why? Ho ho ho my god, you are actually jealous right now"! Megani couldn't help but blush in embarrassment and anger "S-SHUT UP, OKAY?! Saskia isn't a good enough woman for you anyway; I think she may a closer bond with that horse than she leads on. Avalon..I don't know anything about.. I don't really know what to say about her BUT IT CAN'T BE GOOD"! Shrugging off Megani's jealousy, Mellow took note of Saskia speaking on him starting the guild at such an early level; he felt inclined answer back.
"I figured it would be better to start something like this early then start it late in the game. When starting a guild at such an immediately level, it means everyone in the guild can all have fun growing their levels together. It really puts an emphasis on "growing up" together as a family. You can't get those kinds of bonds anywhere else, at least not in my opinion".
Watching as Saskia spoke with the final member of the team, Mellow scanned the area to note their levels and did some lowkey strategies in his head. "All of us are melee in one way or another, but I think Saskia is going for the defensive kind of tank. If we go by that logic, we can all pretty much rush these monsters and clear them without fail. Then again, it's a matter of how Saskia wants us positioned on the battlefield. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out I'm offensive, but what would she do with the others? Either way, this is going to prove to be an amazing quest". Mellow shoved his hands in his pockets as Saskia admitted how much she thought this team would work out; Mellow nodded in agreement. Looking to the fourth member, he nodded his head and turned back; knowing all too well how many times people have refused his handshake in the past. "The name's Mellow, though I suppose you already knew that.. It's nice to meet you."

word count;723 "Oh no, I totally didn't think that at all!" she replied with wide eyes to the pink haired chevalier as she waved her arms in front of her as if surrendering to the other female adventurer. She was caught off-guard for a moment there since she didn't expect the young woman to think she was a lesbian, not that she had such a problem with it. Heck, she wouldn't mind experimenting someday but not anytime soon. She did wonder how luscious a woman's lips would feel like her older cousin had expressively described it to be. Avalon blamed them for exposing her to such details at a young age filling her with thoughts like this. But she was glad they did at the same time, now she didn't make it a big deal like other girls her age did. She scratched her head in thought, "I just thought..." and dragged her words as if testing the waters, "You looked elegant, yeah that was the word," with her lips slightly curved upward though nervous. The other young woman continued saying that most would assume a girl would pick the stereotypical mage type class and she agreed with the guardian that girls didn't have to necessarily have to go with the crowd. It was better to be unique, wasn't it? Her amber eyes sparkled in agreement and nodded at the womanly guardian, "Damn right, girl power," as she gave eyes of determination and laughed at the thought. Her eyebrows shot up in surprise when the female guardian named Saskia stated she was also a guild leader as well for this Vylbrand Academy. Two guild leaders in a random party? What were the odds of something like this to occur? Maybe this was a good sign. After all, she knew that her own guild leader was a fighter and liked his idea of growing in the guild like a family would do so. It made it seem more personable and hopefully would be her second family considering that she missed her own dearly. And the female guardian had a vastly different level gap compared to her own though dropped for this cavern quest. At least Avalon knew her role at the moment, she was made for long range combat so she would most likely hang back around the rear of the party. Suddenly, she heard a male voice shouting for them to look out and she immediately felt an ominous vibration coming from the ground below. Her heart began to tremble faster and faster at the realization of unseen danger. Her eyes darted toward the source of the vibration, a spider head as large as half of her arm. She didn't have the time to be in awe of the unusual large spider. Avalon quickly skidded to the side to hopefully avoid an impending attack from the enemy. Breathing a sigh of relief, she watched a familiar face strike down the cavern spider seemingly with pure ease. It was the handsome Asian swashbuckler adventurer who she journeyed with on a dangerous mission for recolonization. It was more like a band of misfits if she were to put it. She had been worried multiple times that the little sarcastic arguments would affect the mission but it wasn't too bad. With her heart calming down and mind on full alert, she patted herself and carefully got back up from her spot. "Been good," she replied with a toothy grin. She didn't want to be too chatty since that incident and risk being attacked while talking, unless it had to do with strategies and tactics. When he stated that they shouldn't be distracted while in the caverns, her ears deflated and mouth turned downward in embarrassment. "Yeah, sorry 'bout that," she apologized and continued right after, "We'll be more aware now," as she nodded her head. Intently listening to the pink haired guardian, she agreed that they looked like a balanced team since they were all made for different roles. It somehow played out this way, a good thing. "I'm not the best at strategizing, more tactics but I think I'll stay at the rear for long range and some debuffing," she pondering, clutching her viper bow as if it were something precious and continued carefully, "What 'bout you guys, your thoughts before we get going?" with bated breath. “Yup, it’s me.” Steel said in response to Saskia, his former student’s question. The female guardian then began to reminisce on the past and her first battle with him and a Russian guy. All of that started when both the Russian Guardian and Steel himself had both witnessed a rather embarrassing moment in Saskia’s life which she probably wouldn’t want mentioned and then, the two of them were dragged in by Saskia to go hunting in the fields. Steel had to instruct the two new players on how to overcome some of their weak spots in their battle capabilities which was rather fun actually and it made him feel like he was doing something more than just leveling up.“Well, I haven’t heard anything from that Russian so I don’t know what’s going on with him unfortunately.” He said as he wondered what he was doing himself. Saskia was now excited about their current party and how it was practically balanced despite the fact that there were no mage classes or healer classes among them. Balanced huh? I guess I’m going to have to think about how to position everyone. Steel thought to himself as he was used to being a strategist. I know what Saskia and Avalon are capable of for the most part but I have no clue about the monk. He then walked over to the Guardian. “By the way, do you want me to call you by your real name or your in-game name? There are two others here.” Steel whispered to Saskia. Due to his great deduction capabilities, he was able to figure out her real name a while back but under normal circumstances, calling someone by their real name like that, especially in front of people who didn’t know would be considered rude. “That’s good.” Steel said in response to Avalon’s answer to his earlier question. After he softly scolded the group of three people for not paying attention, the Assassin girl looked embarrassed as she apologized. “There’s no need to apologize to me, it’s not like you’ve done me any wrong or anything like that.” He said this with his usual kind smile as he patted the girl on the head a little. “Everyone makes mistakes like that. Even at my level, I’ve made a ton of beginner mistakes at times. It’s more important that you learn from it. In fact, there’s a saying that you learn more from your failures and mistakes than your successes.” He then noted that the Assassin was a bit more stiff than usual. “By the way, you may want to relax a little, you’re a bit too stiff. Being more aware doesn’t mean to stiffen up and think that an enemy will appear at any moment. It’ll affect your battle abilities when an enemy does show up.” He then poked Avalon at the side of her stomach. This sort of action would normally make a person laugh at least a little. Even if she didn’t laugh, the Assassin would be caught off guard enough for her to release the tension and slight stiffness from her body. “That should do. Do you feel less tense now?” He could tell that the monk was thinking of something, probably of the group setting. Just from the facial expressions of the monk, he seemed to be getting an overly excited look on his face which made Steel wonder whether this guy would be any good in combat. The monk then introduced himself as Mellow, in a manner that Steel found annoying for some reason as he stuck out his hand for a handshake. “Who are you?” Steel asked in response partially out of annoyance towards the monk’s tone and also due to the fact he seriously didn’t know since he never checked the status screens of others unless he knew them at least to some extent. “What’s with the tone as if you’re supposed to be someone everyone knows? You may want to be careful how speak or else other people would find that tone of speech quite arrogant.” Steel said this in a tone that somewhat showed his own feelings towards the matter along with a tone that was like a teacher’s. “If that’s actually the case though, then sorry, but I’ve never heard of you. I tend to not pay attention to stuff like that. Anyway, it’s nice to meet you. I’m Steel, a Swashbuckler with no affiliation to any guild.” It was now that they began to talk about strategy. Avalon had suggested that she would be in the back to attack and to debuff enemies. It made sense considering that she was a long range type fighter. He then thought about the rest of the party including himself. Saskia was a guardian who would definitely have to be the main tank. Mellow and himself were more suited to be damage dealers. If needed, Steel could heal his teammates or cover for them when needed and he could serve as an off tank. There was also the issue of aggro distribution. Due to their much higher levels, the monsters in the area would be less likely to target Steel and Saskia and would most likely try to target the two in their team with lower levels, Avalon and Mellow. Many thoughts that were similar in theme went through Steel’s mind and he began to simulate all sorts of situations and battle scenarios in his mind within a few seconds in real time. Having to think this fast is the result of his training from kendo and basketball, both of which required quick thinking and strategy. Once he was done thinking, he had the ideas in his mind. “Mind if you leave the strategizing to me? You two have seen what I can do as a strategist right?” He said that last part to Saskia and Avalon who have seen his ability of observation and team arranging albeit a bit shaky at the start from Avalon’s view since Steel at first had some trouble with a certain Druid who was extremely annoying in Steel’s point of view. “For starters, I’ve got a formation for us to be in when in combat.” Steel said. “We’ll basically be going with a line formation with two pairs at each end, the pairs being a meter or two apart from the other pair. At the front will be Saskia who will be our main tank and Mellow who will be our primary close range damage dealer. At the back will be Avalon who will be our long range damage dealer as well as enemy debuffer and me who will take the role of protecting Avalon. There are a few reasons as to why I chose this formation and I’ll tell you the main ones. First, the monsters will target the lower leveled players, Avalon and Mellow due to the fact that me and Saskia are much higher leveled. Therefore, we have to pair up this way so the aggro is a bit more balanced. Second, if we’re too close together, monster that can dig underground will have the advantage with an attack from below.” He then breathed a little. “Are there any questions or concerns about this formation?” He asked, wanting to get the input of his party members. In all honesty, a majority of the actual strategy would have to be figured out on the fly in the middle of battle. Even so, he wanted to confirm as much as he could so that it would go more smoothly. He also hoped that his teammates would trust him enough in battle when he had to plan in the midst of combat and improvise and change things on the go. Words: 1286 OOC: Sorry for taking so long! Saskia nods a few times in appreciation of Mellow’s words. He seemed to have the proper mindset for raising a guild with strong bonds. The family mentality did offer a certain unique solidarity among it’s members. He seemed to be rather competent enough, and was actually rather easily excitable and ecstatic. She gave him and Avalon a nod of affirmation as he listened to the man with the White Fox mask speak.
He seemed to be thinking along the same lines as Saskia when she began to think about formations, manipulating variables and factors to try to understand the flow of ombat and their role in it. For Saskia, she generally always knew her role as it was always constant: Get in there you cotton candy haired Meat Shield! This barely ever gave her time to play the beautiful cleric maiden or the damsel in distress. Most of the time she actually found herself saving men’s rear ends and bailing them out of a crisis when they decided to draw aggro by spamming too many overpowered spells. She had to go through the worst of it, taking the majority of the beatings and being burned to a crisp by flames and traps. It was surprising that somehow she had found the free time to even o feminine things.
She could swore that so much testosterone infused combat ha begun to wear on her elegance and grace, which didn’t make her surprised when Avalon almost called her out on being a war hungry grunt. Saskia smirked as the girl innocently offered a rebuttal, trying to make up for her slip of the tongue. Speaking of tongue, Saskia chuckled to herself remembering an incident when she actually was giving a rescue breath by Pen, her shield sister and fellow Guardian in combat. It was a weird experience, given that Saskia was a heterosexual, but it wasn’t so gross in hindsight an was hardly meant to be erotic. Well, at least from Saskia’s point of few. No one knew what devilish things were crossing that red heads mind which she took it upon herself to lock lips with the pink haired girl who was drowning under the lake in the deep blue abyss.
Saskia’s eyes fluttered slowly as she held her lips open slightly as studied Avalon’s body language. Thought? Thought what? Saskia’s eyebrows rose curiously as her gaze etched itself upon the girls sheepish grin. She blushed slightly and tilted her head in a warm grip.
“Well, thank you. You look quite graceful yourself.” She smiled amiably, trying to keep things simple. She was technically dating, though recently it seemed as if things had become more business than actually going on fun dates. However, Saskia and Professor Bailin knew they would have to make sacrifices to devote themselves to investing the time it would take to build the Vylbrand Academy.
She chuckled at the bright and bubbly assassin who seemed to share Saskia’s enthusiasm for girls being to storm the battlefield in a blaze of glory too. The girl seemed to be somewhat surprised at Saskia being a guild leader, which just gave a pleasntly soft glow in Saskia’s chest as she felt like she was being a productive member in the community and uniting people together as they seek their own path in this new world.
Avalon marked out her strengths and weaknesses and suggested the best role for her within the group. She preferred long ranged assaults, which made Saskia remember Steel was equipped with pistols the last time they met. Saskia began to ponder about the effectiveness of ranged weapons and employing them in combat.
“Hmm, you know. I think I might actually buy a bow. Just to have. Sometimes I find there are targets outside my reach up in high cliffs or flying up in the sky where even my spear while on Icarus can reach. I also always wondered how horseback archery might be...definitely sounds exciting.” Saskia smiled. “Maybe we could do a bit of archery lessons, eh, Avalon?”
Saskia smiled as she turned to listen to Steel. It had been freaking ages since the last time she spoke with him. She could hardly believe her eyes. He definitely had grown so much over the months. She was surprised he wasn’t the leader of his own guild yet, he was a very adept teacher. He also spoke much like how a sensei would, exposing a person’s strengths and weaknesses.
Saskia frowned a bit slightly, hoping that maybe the Russian was with him or that they traveled together more often. “Oh, that’s sad. He was a crazy brute. Dmitri the Giant, right? Big old storming tyrant, spinning his greataxe over people’s heads. I loved the Russian accent though. Russians are always cute. I bet he would have made a nice drinking buddy, too.”
Saskia grinned warmly until she noticed Steel approach her and begin to whisper, which seeme weird given that they were with others, but she soon understood as he explaine himself. “Hm? Oh-Oh...You can just call me Saskia. That’s fine for now. “ The wolf hair guardian murmered as she looked at the others, then back at Steel with a light toothy grin.
The truth was, she really didn’t have any reason to be shady or keep her real name a mystery. Honestly, she only did so, because she still didn’t quite remember Steel’s real name. Takahiro? Mizuko? Hideyoshi? Gosh. Why were Japanese names so hard. Fortunately, Steel worked for him and it was a rather simple, yet powerful name that suited him.
Saskia then started bursting into a fit of uncontrollable laughter, remembering the man’s courtesan skill and how it sparkled earning him the title as “Sparkleboy” in their group from months back.
Good thing that by the time she did so, he was already teasing Avalon and trying to make her more comfortable. It seemed the two got along decently well, judging by how Steel playfully poked her. He then seemed to speak to the Monk in a way that seemed slightly confrontational, which, didn’t surprise Saskia as he was that way with Sergej and the other sneaky elf dude who she had already forgotten.
The response from the Monk seemed slightly agitated and he seemed to walk off as he received a call on his interface through telepathy. He mentioned something rather vaguely about having to dip out at the last minute and handle some guild related paperwork to the city.
Saskia blinked in a moment of disbelief. Now they would be one man down.
“Well, you’re still staying right, Avalon?” Saskia wondered. They were embers of the same guild, so it was possible that they would leave together.
“I think we could still make it if we progress with Steel and I at the forefront and Avalon at the rear. Basically same concept as yours Steel, which was a brilliant plan, though we just need to moderate it to accommodate for these new changes.”
Saskia then gripped the reins of her horse and tugged them to the right, facing the path that led deeper into the heart of the cavern.
“Be on your guard. There’s no telling what nasty little beasts are roaming around in there.”
Saskia then motioned Icarus forward as they lightly trotted inward, her hand holding a firm grip on her spear.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Perhaps the cavern was once bedecked with miners and carts full of picks and expensive ore; now it's draped in cobwebs and dust. It's dark, so dark anything could jump out at you. Walking through the cavern, you can almost hear the clink of water droplets from the ceiling; walking through the tight alleyways, you can almost hear drone of small talk; walking through a light puddle, you can almost hear a maniacal laughter...or maybe you truly can. Notice the tall, wooden beams that once held up certain parts of the cave, now cracked and caked in dirt: can you see it? Can you see the gorgeous former life of this place? So many, many years ago, this mine was a lively one and mirrored all the others in this realm. The other mines were knocked down to eventually make room for the expedition of the mines of today--but this one stands on. Some don't know its secret and say it's a wonderful, historical site that should never be torn down. Others are wiser and say it should be torn down to make the area safer for wandering pedestrians. But in reality, they don't care if this lot is being used or not. They know of the ghosts and monsters that thrive here and want to get rid of them.
They know this mine is haunted.

word count;1738 She couldn't help but giggle when the pink haired guardian replied that she was graceful as well. "I'm not too sure about graceful but I guess I try," she shrugged though it sounded more like a question than anything else. Avalon couldn't imagine getting down and dirty in the forest as anything close to being graceful. The guardian mentioned that she was interested in learning some archery from her me as it brought a small smile that graced her face. “I think I would like that too Saskia,” she replied cocking her head to the side with the smile plastered on her face. Avalon wouldn't mind being a teacher some time in the future. For a few moments, she felt a little left of the conversation while Steel and Saskia was talking about things she wasn't too familiar with. Maybe a little jealous. But furrowing her eyebrows and shrugging, she gave them some space to talk since she realized it wasn't such a big deal. They most likely knew each longer way longer than she did with Steel. Drowning out the conversation they were having, her senses took over for a while. As it was a bright and glimmering morning, she felt the warmth of the sunlight rest on her body and it was comforting though it was not her type of location outside to be hunting for beasts when a hit and run was necessary. The light of the comforting sun gradually diminished into the shadows of the ominous cavern. It was a good thing she was with strong and trustworthy company. Otherwise, she wouldn't have enough courage to undertake this type of quest with monsters' levels above her own. It sent her chills even thinking about the prospect of that somehow occurring. There was fluctuating winds whistling around the stones near the stones, softly then loudly in a course of a few sounds. She had to admit, it didn't anywhere near comforting. Still, she was safe and sound--for now. Avalon was truly glad he accepted her apology for not paying attention to the surroundings around her. She just didn't want let anyone in the group down especially with two high level adventurers as her comrades in the quest. She at least had wanted to prove she could take care of herself and defend the others in some way. She guessed maybe that was asking for too much at the moment. Then it hit her, she wasn't thinking right. Like back home in school sports, everyone had a specific role in the team and backed each other up in different aspects. Since she was the shortest in the team in basketball, she was positioned as a point guard and in charge of making sure her teammates had chances to score. That was important and factor in winning the game, can turn the game around at any moment. Like the real world, her role here was similar and had comrades she could hopefully depend on. Avalon was sure she would be able to depend on Steel with his confidence and intelligence he displayed in the quest she went with him earlier. Saskia exuded a big sister personality and she was comforted by the feeling she could relate to her. Her guild leader Mellow, she was still getting used to though his boisterous and eccentric attitude was hard to take him seriously. Maybe she was thinking too hard about the questing in her nervousness. Her eyes widened and stumbled a step back as she felt a tingling sensation on her stomach. Avalon unintentionally let out laughter that caused her for a second, rosy cheeks and closed her mouth in embarrassment. Regaining her composure, she heard him ask if she felt less tense than earlier. She actually did feel less tense though what really surprised her was that she didn't know him that well and poked her anyway. It wasn't a bad thing to happen, actually liked the sensation and helped her to calm down. Her body slightly slumped as it relieved her stiff posture from earlier. It felt like a heavy weight was lifted off of her shoulders. She took another glimpse of the male swashbuckler, slim built, average height, and black hair—it didn’t do him any justice. The way he presented himself in the group, he seemed like he was the tallest person in the group. It sent fluttering of butterflies in her stomach. It probably didn’t mean anything to him, just reassuring to get the quest going. Still, it made her feel much better than she thought it would. ”Thanks, I sort of needed that. I was a little too nervous being in a quest with higher leveled monsters but I'm glad we're all here to support each other," she said turning to everyone in the group with a slow smile on her face and paused with a grin, "I'm gonna get you back for that Steel," with a flash of a wink. She was really glad she finally was back to her normal self. Suddenly, that feeling of relief turned upside down all in a moment. Not again. Avalon gave a bleak look and a mirthless smile at the scenery that greeted her eyes. It was almost like what happened in the beginning of the dangerous quest she had went with Steel before. She hoped it wouldn’t lead into some petty arguments during their venturing. Okay, maybe her guild leader did sound slightly arrogant in the way he introduced himself to the swashbuckler. Mellow was sometimes too boisterous and overbearing in the guild and it did grated on her nerves but she became used to that everyday occurrence just as long as she was able to zone it out. She even considered joining the other guilds that were accepting new members but the amount of members was a bit overwhelming and she just wanted join a guild starting from scratch. Intently observing the scene, she watched as Steel said sharply to her guild leader about sounding arrogant to others and how it might land him into a lot of trouble. She shook her head for a moment though she didn’t want to admit it but he was right. Avalon felt an urge to defend her guild leader but being sure that wasn’t the best idea, she remained silent in taking sides. All she could do was let out a exasperated sigh murmuring, “Guys…” hoping to catch their attention and get them back on track no matter who was right or wrong. Something unexpected happened. Her guild leader swiftly turned around to make his exit out of the quest. Her face twisted into a face of utter confusion and wincing, pained expression and called out to him, “Mel—“ but to no avail, he never looked back and just abandoned her. Avalon thought she was gaining a new family in the Elder Tales but now, the broken family back home flashed back in a mere few seconds. It was a hammer to her heart in that single action with her abandonment issues caused by her parents never really being there and rather, her cousins the ones taking care of her since she was a young child. It was not fair. She took a deep breath knowing she was becoming stronger and with that, needed to move on and stand up on her own two feet. In the moment of disbelief, she vaguely heard the pink haired guardian asking if she was going to still stay on the quest. Her guild leader had left but these two adventurers were nice enough and friendly. She held a blank, a slacked expression and gave the guardian and slow nod, “I’ll still continue with you guys,” with empty eyes unintentionally trailing on the same spot as if hoping he was going to reappear any second. She was really hoping fort a chance to bond even with his exasperating personality but she guessed it wasn’t meant to be. Once Saskia gave her and Steel the okay to continue the question into the bleak cavern, she followed the higher leveled guardian with Steel around her perimeter. She winced for a moment when droplets of cold water hit her body, giving her an uncomfortable chill. The light was disappearing into the abyss, total darkness soon to come. She cautiously glanced at the tall wooden beams rendered cracked and crumbling, not even close to it’s former glory. Avalon was sure it was only a matter of time until those wooden beam would fall from grace into nothingness. She could just imagine this cavern was most likely a bustling place full of hard working fellow but all that came to dust and faded away in memory. The cavern was draped with multitudes of cobwebs and a littered with animal scats in different sides of the surrounding area. She wiggled her nose of the animal scat and briny smell of stale air, it was not very pleasant. For a while, all she could hear was the shuffling of feet over the detritus and loose rocks being kicked in the darkness. But widening her eyes, the voices echoing in the darkness caught her full attention. What was that? She whispered in the darkness to anyone listening, “Are we the only ones here right?” as if asking for a confirmation and hoping for the answer she was searching for. Then she heard a barrage of bats fluttering their wings zooming toward them in different directions. They were all in the level twenties range but she felt like this was something she could handle. They were beasts so she’ll have twenty percent more damage than usual with her trusty viper recurve bow though she would rather upgrade it sooner than later. She whispered through the fluttering of wings, “Cover me, I’ll get those nasties,” as she positioned herself readily with her hunter’s bow and preparing to snipe the first target down. Avalon bent down slightly as she cocked the arrow into it’s slot and gripped her recurve bow tightly. She had her eyes locked and trailed on the fluttering bat in the middle of the group. Steady now, Quick draw! Avalon sent her arrow zooming high flying as it surprising hit on it’s stomach dead-center. How’d that happen? Lucky shot she guessed but inside she was glad it did hit anyway. Avalon hoped it would deal enough damage with her hunter 20% bonus damage to be shot down into anima. Steel watched as the two females of the group began to converse cheerfully about multiple topics. It went from talk about being graceful, to talking about how girls can also be on the battlefield to talks about archery and new fighting styles to learn. Honestly, the Swashbuckler had a hard time keeping up with what they were saying before giving up altogether and just went with it. He made sure not to show the slight panic of not knowing what to say in this situation on his face and just let them have their little talk. His little sister had mentioned in the past back in the real world that interrupting a ‘girl’s talk’ was rude. Saskia seemed disappointed that Steel didn’t know about the Russian’s whereabouts. Sure, he was a crazy battle hungry Russian guy that got angered even more easily than Steel and would swung an axe around in front of other people but he was also the type of guy that grew on you after a while. For Steel, that was a really long time before the Swashbuckler got used to the Russian Guardian. Saskia went on for a bit about the Russian and ended it with how she wanted to have him as a drinking buddy. “I’d prefer not to give that crazy axe wielder any alcohol. Who knows what could happen after that.” He said with a bit of a sigh as he pictured such a scenario. His imagery included Sergej destroying stuff while drunk and possibly hurting other people. “And besides, you shouldn’t drink so much, it’ll be bad for your health and sometimes your relationships.” Later on when Steel asked Saskia whether he should call her by her real name or her in-game name, the pink haired guardian replied saying that it’d be fine to call her by her in-game name. Steel could understand why. Most everyone else didn’t use their real names in this world and in such a situation where everyone would be used to their avatar names, it’d be a little odd to use names from the real world. It was then Saskia burst into laughter about something. Steel couldn’t really tell what she was laughing about but for some reason, he felt it had something to do with him. After he had tickled Avalon in the stomach, the Assassin girl had laughed with a bit of red hinting her face, probably out of embarrassment, and she was able to loosen up a bit. “Looks like it worked.” Steel said with a small smile. Avalon thanked him for it since she needed it and then turned around to face the rest of the group and said that she was glad that they were all here to support each other. She then turned to Steel and winked at him, saying that she’d get back at him later. I wonder how she’s going to do that. Steel thought to himself, a bit amused. “Glad to see you’re back to your regular self.” Steel said to her with a smile. After he talked to the monk named Mellow, he certainly didn’t act like his name would imply. As Steel expected, Mellow got pretty irritated and then he got a telepathy call so he stepped out for a bit. When he came back, he said he had to leave and do some work in the city before using the Call of Home spell to get back to the city. “Well, that was unexpected, now we’re a man down.” It was then he saw Avalon call out to him, trying to bring him back. Unfortunately, that failed and it looked like he was gone for good. It seemed that this turn of events hit home for Avalon as Steel saw her with an expression of someone who was abandoned. Did something happen to her like this in the past? Steel wondered to himself. Saskia asked if the Assassin would stick around to which she answered yes with a blank expression and a slow nod. Avalon was still looking towards the spot that Mellow disappeared at, as if that would bring him back. Steel walked over to her and put his hand on her head. “If it was because of me, sorry about that.” He said in apology. He couldn’t think of anything else to say that could comfort her at the moment. “If anything else, just know that at the very least, I won’t just be leaving you all alone just like that. Let’s finish this mission together.” Saskia then suggested an alternate version of his original formation plan since Mellow was gone and Steel agreed to it. It was better that way anyway. With that, the three of them went into the cavern to do their mission. Saskia said to be on guard and to that Steel had a thought in his head. Shouldn’t we always be on our guard outside of a safe zone anyway? He thought to himself but decided not to say it out loud. It was then he heard a noise come from Avalon. It seemed that some droplets of cold water had hit her body and it was quite obvious that it made her quite uncomfortable. He took off his jacket and held it out for the Assassin. “If you want, you can use this to block the water that’s coming down. It’s making you cold isn’t it?” After a while, the three of them heard sounds coming from ahead. Avalon asked whether they were the only ones. At this, Steel began to create an image in his mind using the clues he got from the area. “No other adventurers found, 3 flying type monsters are headed our way though.” He said as he readied himself to fight. Avalon was right on the ball and began to shoot arrows at the bats. One of her arrows hit the bat in the middle and made it burst into anima fragments. “One bat down, two bats remaining.” He said, pretty much taking the role of battle analyst. This role was to keep the team updated on the battle situation. It helped that he’s visualizing incoming monsters. He then heard more sounds coming from behind and from below. “5 more enemies of the flying type, probably more bats are coming from behind us. Saskia, move a meter back, a spider is headed your way from the ground and you don’t want to be too close to it when it emerges you hear? Fight the spider when it emerges. Avalon, fall back behind Saskia and shoot down the remaining bats in front of you. I’ll take on the 5 behind us.” He then ran towards the 5 cavern bats. The cavern bats saw the swashbuckler and targeted him while they surrounded him. “Bad choice you flying rodents.” Steel said with a smile. “House Advantage!” with that, he began stabbing at the bats with blinding speed, three thrusts each. Due to the difference in level, these were practically one hit Kos and were defeated easily. “Saskia, remind me again about the specifics of our mission?” He asked. Words: 1183 AvalonSaskia

Guardian - Cavalier - Brewer ____________________________________________________
Preparing a vigilant gaze, Saskia’s idle mind drifted to thoughts of the two companions she now traveled with. The jade haired wolf hair seemed to have recovered from her recent loss. It would have been better if Mellow would have taken care of his duties before getting tied up in a dungeon. This hindered their squad as it was clearly something setup for four. Now they were missing a vital asset and damage dealer, which meant taking down foes would give them a lot more trouble than they would have already had on their plate.
The gloomy scenery didn’t seem to help either as they began to be lost wanderers in a maze of darkness and despair. It felt almost as if she could hear the howls of ghouls as she gazed over the abandoned equipment. Fortunately, she didn’t have to delve deeper into the mines alone, she had the comfort of budding friendships at her side. Avalon seemed to be quite kind and enthusiastic in nature, good natured overall, but with a mischievous spark. She seemed like a bit of a tom boy, but still held her feminine charms, which cast of an interesting allure. She seemed happy about the idea of them going to do Archery later.
Saskia still had a lot to learn, and even given her level, she knew she would always remain a student, learning new disciplines was an interesting turn of events for her. She wondered if Avalon felt isolated when Steel walked over to talk to her separately. She already had one guy ditch her. Pretty sure she was starting to feel like maybe she had ebola or something.
She felt like she was having second thoughts as she gazed towards the exit. The last few rays of light granted a small bliss as they knew they would have to escape the comfort of light to embrace the darkness. The frigid winds felt like icicles rubbing against her veins as Saskia looked back to see Steel playfully poking Avalon.
Steel did have a certain captavation in his personaility, it seemed like he had some sort of secret jedi mind tricks for getting past people’s barriers, whether he did this subtly by using methods of disarming them, or if he penetrated their bubble with a piercing spear of words and blunt gestures that exposed them for a flaw they possessed.
Saskia remembered back when she was a very cowardly fighter and hid behind the other tank in their group when she first left for a battle. She chuckled lightly to herself as she remembered how she was shaking at the knees and Steel had to chew her out for being such a wuss.
Those pittered boars were pretty scary, with their pointy tusks and mad bull charges. She also didn’t think that slaughtering innocent animals was a fun idea at all, but after seeing them burst into pretty bubbles, she laughed and calmed down, remembering that she was in a game world, and these were just virtual pigs and not real ones.
She still swung her sword awkwardly back then and her footwork needed improvement. It wasn’t until months later, when she found another Guardian who was a big Authurian legend buff in the real world that studied knightly sword techniques, that Saskia actually learned how to fight like a warrior and become one with blade and shield. The training was rigorous, and she found herself getting constantly pounded by the red headed behemoth, Pen Ddraig. It definitely toughened her up a bit from the soft and squishy damsel in distress she once was.
Steel helped her look at combat in a tactical way, as she grew in the state of situational awareness. She observed enemy movements, thought about how to set up combos or properly interrupt skills and manipulate aggro. Every battle could have the tide turned, even if it seemed overwhelming, as long as you use the right methods to adapt and overcome your obstacles.
Saskia smiled warmly at the two as they traveled, she was glad that Avalon and Steel were warming up to each other. At least Avalon wouldn’t have to feel alone after being ditched. Saskia raised a curious brow when he saw Steel offer the girl his jacket while they were in the wet caves. The droplets of water cascaded of the edges of her shiny steel armor and slid down to crash against the puddles on the floor.
Icarus’s hooves sloshed through the muddy abyss as they began to hear odd shrieks and cries from the cave. Saskia’s head swirled around in an alerted state and Steel began spewing out information like a mechanized robot. Saskia grimaced at the report. Flying monsters were never really her forte, being a ground pounding shock troop. Most of her abilities had a limited range. Even her attacks that did have a bit of reach had longer cooldowns, which made them annoying to manage.
The team archer seemed to be a trick shot, as she let loose a few knocked arrows and happened to strike the bat with one of them. Saskia smirked with a devilish grin as she was excited to see such sportsmanship, however, Steel had yelled at her to get her head back in the game and the Wolf hair blinked when she heard the call out tht a spider was coming upon her.
“Ah shit...” Saskia mumbled. She knew she never tught Icarus how to walk backwards by command, she normally just used the reigns to guide him. As she awkwardly, tugged the reins to the right, the steed made a U-turn then trotted a few steps before turning back around and being startled by a large spider that burst out of the ground.
Saskia observed as they were soon being surrounded. The large swarm of bats were being highly aggressive and predatory in nature as they overtook the group.
As a Guardian, Saskia knew what she had to do. She was uncertain how she would even be able to tank so many monsters, but she knew that she had the best damage mitigation out of the group, so that task would fall upon her.
With a mighty shout, she screamed “Anchor Howl!” as her eyes burst like sunburst gems, radiating a thick and intense golden gleam.
She lunged her spear downward, striking the spider in the face as it scurried back then lunged for an attack. Saskia could fill the poisonous spit slam against the shell of her armor, and that’s when she heard it.
The screeching cry of the swarm as the three monsters Steel slashed at with his skill and the reinforcement of bats flocked around her like a storm of angry crows and began biting at her. Sinking their teeth into her armor and neck.
She flailed about as she began to be engulfed in bats.
“AGH! Shit, shit! Get the hell off me!” Saskia screamed as she twisted around violently on the horse who was releasing a wild neigh.
The impact from all the beasts began to slam away at her health bar, which made her annoyed. She hoped that the others had some type of offensive power that would help lighten the load of damage she had to carry. Things were starting to get way too intense as she received a wave of nine attacks from all the monsters.
“Little help here!?!” Saskia shouted as she knew she depended heavily on the clean up crew to do their thing while she meat shielded like a boss.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Before being relieved by the warrior's anchor howl, you would be attacked by the bats that you attacked respectively. Because Avalon aggroed one of the bats away, that particular bat would be out of range for the House Advantage strike, and proceed to bite her on the arm and rip away at the cloth of her armor.
Meanwhile, the two bats that did succumb to Steels strike would retaliate by biting at his right arm and left leg, tearing small parts of his clothing at the seams.
Afterwards, all monsters would cling to Saskia and begin to violently attack her as her health begins to chip away.

word count;1431 Avalon nodded when Steel had said that he was glad she was feeling better. Still, she was sure that the swashbuckler helped her feel better and recuperate from her guild leader leaving was just for the sake of surviving and accomplishing the mission. To easily put it simple terms, get her head in the game. If she had such pessimistic thoughts, then it might distract her improvising tactics on the spot and defeating her enemies in question. Honestly, the swashbuckler did not seem like the character who truly cared about a person with his distance obsidian eyes with flecks of silver that seemed to her, gazed farther than the eye could see. Maybe if she got to know him better, she might think differently but for now, that was her opinion at the moment. Although he was a capable comrade in their other mission together, it seemed he prioritized the mission above everything else--not that it was a bad thing. Observing her comrades in that mission, he looked like he knew what he was capable of doing and executing the actions he took well enough. The only problem she noticed from him was that it seemed that he would get offended easily by others and retaliate with snippy comments. It proved true with her former guild master who was somewhat boisterous at times and the Druid who she went on the same mission. If it was her, she would have rather stay on the low like an assassin of forest should and not cause a scene. Still, his positive qualities out weight the negative in that she could learn many skills and strategies from the swashbuckler. Avalon furrowed her eyebrows in perplexity when he offered her his jacket to keep her from the uncomfortable coldness of the water droplets cascading from the ceiling. "Thanks but it's okay," she politely declined as she continued stalking through the caverns. It was a nice gesture she didn't expect from the swashbuckler since she originally perceived him in a different way. As a hunter of the forest, she had become accustomed to treading along the different environment, through the fluctuating turbulent changes and uneven ground. Covering herself in grime and muddy dirt to blend in with the environment, people sometimes thought she was a wild child much to her chagrin. For her, it was just another medium to get the job done. The sole reason why the water droplets bothered her was mentally induced than physical reasons. Was she the only one hearing the voices of the dark? Or was she just going crazy? It was ominous. The distant maniacal laughter that caused her ears to stand straight up resonated within her mind. There are no such things as ghosts. They were only made for great horror film and scare children. Right? But, it didn't stop her hair standing up in a series of goosebumps in this hauntingly road filled with bothersome thoughts that kept her in alert. This cavern felt like the final resting place for the dead than a merchant route. When they had stumbled upon a barrage of cavern bats surrounding them from every angle, she had almost panicked at the tenacious enemies. This type of fight was something she wasn't used to especially when she would regularly shoot down enemies in a wide open space with places she could camouflage in and tactically use the environment to her own advantage. In this cavern mission, there was no place to hide. No place to position herself when waiting for the cool down time ended and could resume her offensive strikes. It was then she resented her former guild master leaving. One less offensive player that could make up for her cool down and for her to shoot her arrow when she found an opening in her enemy. Now, that wasn't the case and she had to somehow deal with this without him. If he ever taught her a valuable lesson, she learned that trusting your comrades was very important. They give you strength and help you grow. With that memory in mind, she twisted her face into a facade of bravery and took the initiative to shoot one of the cavern bats zooming toward her party with her viper bow and had hoped it would deal enough damage to render it confused. She hoped that the cavern bat would at least flinch caused by the painful damage to slow said bat down. She grinned in satisfaction showing off her pearly fangs when her arrow collided with the cavern bat though it did not last very long. Besides knowing it would take more than a few shots of her arrow to send it into anima fragments, other cavern bats were advancing fast at her comrades. Her pointed ears stirred up listening to the swashbuckler's direction for the next course of action. It did sound reasonable enough though she knew the execution would be somewhat clumsy and messy. She was normally a solo adventurer so working with a party didn't come naturally to her yet and she would have rather liked some backup support. But it didn't look like that would happen anytime soon. Still, she would do damn well to help out to the best of her abilities no matter what even though putting herself closer the enemy made her quite anxious. Suddenly, she widened her honeyed amber eyes at a cavern bat that swooped down speedily and situated itself on the upper side of her right arm. The cavern bat's fangs seemed to clamp down hard that she felt a throbbing pain coursing throughout her body. It felt like she was hurting all over rather than just her arm. Then a moment of stinging affliction occurred, she winced her eyes hard as she unfortunately felt her health points draining every agonizing moment. She was a ranged fighter and hardly ever came this close to her enemies and she utterly wanted this thing to get off of her as soon as possible. There was no space for her to use her bow and arrow properly with the annoying cavern bat in her way. With her animalistic instincts, she darted her eyes at her surrounding and found a possible way to escape--hopefully. She leaned forward in a mad dash to ram the cavern bat against the stone cold walls of the cave. Before she could even reach her destination, she fortunately heard her companion shout out her anchor howl move causing the cavern bat to release her from it's stinging clutches. Even though it was Saskia's job to aggro monsters, she was very grateful for her help in relieving her from it's grasp though now wasn't the time to give her thanks to the guardian at the moment. Avalon gazed in horror as her comrade was beginning to become engulfed in her attackers. There was about eight or nine monsters that needed to be killed before the guardian and her loyal steed would lose too much health. Many tactics rushed in her mind in her desire to save the pink chevalier who seemed to offer her friendship to her. The problem was, hardly any of her attacks worked well on multiple enemies at the same time. That was something of a specialty for a swashbuckler like Steel. She was the type to focus on one target and shoot said target down with powerful attacks one by one. Like a bright lightbulb turned on, a move she hardly used popped up in her mind where she could load up five arrow and rapidly fire them. Avalon had almost forgot about it. Well, it's a good to try something new at least. She lurked in the shadows keeping as silent as she could. She then cocked up her bow and arrow and focused on the multiple cavern bats not caring which one she would shoot down just as long as it wasn't her comrade. Arrow Revolver! She sent five arrows one after the other like the speed of a machine gun zooming toward the cavern bats. Saskia SteelCODED BY DUCKIE OF GS

After successfully hitting two of the bats with his skill, the two enemy monsters he had hit retaliated by biting at his right arm and left leg. “I can already tell this fight’s going to be a pain.” Steel said to himself as he saw his teammate Avalon get attacked by the bat that escaped from Steel’s wrath due to her hitting it with one of her arrows. Steel didn’t really mind getting bitten too much as he’s been through worse but Avalon seemed to be in a lot of pain so Steel was thinking of healing her. It was then Saskia activated her skill ‘Anchor Howl’, attracting the attention of all of the monsters and unfortunately causing them all to attack her. This made Steel put his healing idea on hold since it seemed that Saskia might need it more for now. Calm down, first, determine the situation and act accordingly. Steel thought to himself as he breathed in deeply and began to analyze the situation. He started by imagining the situation from a bird’s eye view, getting a new perspective on the situation. He saw Avalon going into the dark and beginning to aim her bow while activating the skill Arrow Revolver to fire five arrows at the cavern bats in rapid succession. Steel decided to use this to his advantage and began to use one of his specialties, Misdirection. After sheathing the sword in his left hand and automatically activating Fencer Style, he began to rush towards Saskia and the bats which were attacking her. Using body and eye gestures, he redirected the bats and possibly his own teammates’ attention to the incoming arrows and away from himself. After the arrow landed somewhere, whether or not they hit the intended targets, Steel made his move. He jumped upward as if he came out of nowhere, making sure that all nine of the enemies were in his range and activated a skill that had finally gotten off of cool down. “House Advantage!” He exclaimed before thrusting his swords three times at all of the enemies at blinding speed. This skill would always have the same animation time no matter how many enemies were in range so that means 27 hits in total was done to all of the enemies, taking about 0.05 seconds to land each hit. These attacks were also powered up due to Fencer Style’s effect. He then pulled out his gun and activated a skill. “Magnum Shot!” He exclaimed before firing at the spider, knocking it back a bit. “Saskia, I’ll leave the spider to you.” Steel said before using his Heal skill on Saskia. “Since I’m not a healer, I don’t think I can do much with this but I hope it helps.” He would take on the bats if there were any left since he was better at fighting multiple enemies at once and would leave Saskia with taking on the spider one on one. He then turned to Avalon. “You doing okay there Avalon? I’ll heal you when my cool down is finished. Give back up to whoever needs it. Good shooting by the way.” He said this in a rather carefree tone despite the combat situation. He was actually getting fired up about it. Words: 543 AvalonSaskiaOOC: Sorry for taking so long!
