» Piper chuckled at Nyumo's reaction to Saskia; she was sure the small wolf-hair had mistaken the relationship between Burai and Saskia, On the other hand, Nyumo was right on the money on the fact that Saskia was cute, so points for that.
Piper did not chuckle when the assassin turned to greet her. The handshake was innocent enough, but the tone of voice and slight reddening of the cheeks... Piper wondered if this was Nyumo was flirting with her. It seemed unlikely, given her assumed infatuation with Burai, so Piper went ahead and wrote it off. She shook the wolf hair's hand, giving her a friendly smile with the greeting.
Piper got a second surprise when Gaijin, who had previously been so still, suddenly began stripping off his armor. Piper was not so much flustered as she was confused; she became even more confused when he began embracing her. It felt like he might crush her spine. Piper checked her HP, hoping this did not count as combat for the purposes of the royal guard.
"Hrk... Yes... I like you too, Gaijin..." Piper made a feeble attempt at patting the colossus in the back; it was impossible for her to actually hug him in return with the way he was squeezing her.
Piper managed to hear Saskia talking to her through the force of the embrace; something about going up to the mountains to with someone named Parasole? "Parasole is a pretty name," Piper thought. "I hope she's cute. And small. Yes, small would be great." Piper, for better or worse, did not hear what Saskia said about her being taken, nor did she hear Burai's crude response to it; this was likely for the better, as if she had heard Burai the Royal Guard would have needed to come down.

CAN'T HOLD ME NOW YOU GOT NOTHING THAT CAN STOP ME NOW Nyumo nodded thoughtfully to Saskia's explanation about the guild's name and purpose. "That's pretty cool to have a school within the game, I'm sure there's plenty of people who can appreciate the familiarities it might bring from outside." With arms entwined against her torso, she nodded more or less agreeing with her own insight over anything else. Though the topic of Burai and Saskia came back around, she unfurled her arms from her waist to rub a hand against the mane of hair she was wielding with the other planted to her hip at the wrist. "Oh I'm less than worried, it would've been a surprise more than anything seeing how he is. I'll never understand this man sometimes." Nyumo brings both of her hands up with a shrug, shaking her head with a sigh. His interests were always a puzzle in her mind, if anyone were more elusive than her to what they actually liked it would have to be him. Making it doubly hard to play any sort of wing woman, though she was sure she was just really bad at it and was more likely to scare off pursuers than goad them into his arms. Though it seemed this Gaijin fellow had no qualms of getting someone into his arms seeing him lift up Piper with ease, she stifled a laugh at the sight between the two of them. The handshake they had was cordial at best, not the reception she'd expected but maybe she'd been a bit too vocal on their greeting. Something she'd have to consider for future interactions to avoid any misdirection she could cause.
Nyumo tilts her head to the side curiously with Burai suddenly crouching down to her level, a deeper blush comes over her cheeks at him having to bend down to talk to her. She only picked this height because it felt natural, but it was always a bother when people went and got on her level to speak to her like she was a child in the real world. Now he was doing it to her here, it was embarrassing on more than one level and she wasn't sure how to handle it in front of these new faces. Listening to what he had to say about Saskia, her entire face turns bright red as a wave of confusing washes over her. "W-w-why would you call her that?!" she audibly stammers out in her disbelief. It was clear she didn't know the whole story behind his and her meeting but at the same time she could sense the playfulness in Saskia's chiding. Or atleast it was something 'she' would notice, he was on a whole different wavelength than what she assumed most everyone else in the room was on. Heaving a heavy sigh, she brings a hand up and claps it down on Burai's shoulder closing her eyes thoughtfully. "If you abandon your teacher on the premise that she is promiscuous." She grips her fingers deeper into his shoulder, with her nails digging into the fleshy muscle. "I will personally beat you till you take back what you said just now." She said with venom in her voice, an innocent smile on her lips. Saskia atleast had shown her she wasn't intent on being some Jezebel with her best friend, so for him to try and call her out on it after she said so just riled her up. If it were anyone she wasn't as close to, she probably would have busted his lip right on the spot, but this was a delicate case to work around. She just hoped it was clear enough for him to understand.

Piper seemed to accept his embrace. That was a good sign. A man didn't need much in order to survive, but family was one of those things. Realizing that he might actually be hurting her, Gaijin let her go with an apologetic smile and quick hand sign. He wouldn't be a very good brother if he hurt his own family, right?
Then Saskia turned to him and offered help. Was she feeling left out? Maybe she wanted a hug too. The giant thought about it for a minute before deciding not to hug her. Saskia was not family, she was his sister's friend and would be treated as such. Gaijin smiled, shook his head, and did not take the paper.
Instead he picked up his spear and began playing with it. For the moment it would be a suitable weapon, but he would have to replace it as soon as possible. It was too small, and too light. Clearly it was not designed for someone of Gaijin's size. He fingered an ear absently when a thought occurred to him. Moving quickly the light skinned giant took a few quiet steps and knelt by the wolf hair woman. He set the spear upright and compared the two heights. The assassin won by a third. Satisfied, he then lifted the spear to her height so that from the proper angle it looked like the weapon was balancing on her head. Once again pleased with the result he nodded while his right hand stroked his chin. His new weapon needed to be exactly one and two thirds Nyumos in length. He idly wondered how much the woman weighed.

A bubbling smirk popped up on Saskia’s face as she noticed the heated look in Burai’s eye as he turned to face Piper. The wolf hair warrioress knew that the two were of the same class and ue to the man’s bold nature and determination to show off that he no doubt considered the pink panther styled monk to be a possible challenger and future advesary. She raised a brow at his competitive nature and examined the other monk. She believed in both of their capabilities equally.
He seemed quite agitated with his feline friend as the vixen swarmed around him affectionately. Saskia stroked the bottom of her bottom lip with her index finger as Burai complimented her looks.
She then turned her attention to Gaijin as he kept interacting with Piper in a loving manner. Saskia thought it was pretty weird for someone to be so touchy feely in the first moments of meeting someone and would have intervened, but it seemed that Piper knew how to take care of herself for the most part, so Saskia just shrugged and let out a slight yawn as she listened to Burai. He was being was as abrasive and arrogant as ever, but she knew that over pumped ego would deflate sooner or later. Whether she would be the one to do it or somebody else.
She decided she would much rather talk to her fellow wolf hair as she seemed more tolerable out of the two.
“Yeah, you always got to plan ahead. I mean what if we’d stuck here for good. We’ll have to start our own civilization. Vylbrand is not only a haven for people who are trying to enjoy the game, but also for those that are trying to forge a new way of life. We all work together to make things a little bit easier. “
She then turned her sapphire gems back to the arrogant one, before smiling gently at Nyumo.
“Yes, I don’t mind him. He probably just fell on his head when he spwaned into this world. I didn’t know ental debuffs could even last this long...” Saskia smirked. "Maybe he’ll pick up a girl that’s just as mean as he is and they can nag each other until they’re blue in the face...”
She began to stare at the polish on her nails, ignoring him for a moment and drowning out the sound of his voice, having being annoyed by it, until her wolf ears twitched at the words of him suggesting that she was a harlot and some what of a teacher with ulterior scandalous motives.
Saskia’s deep sky blue eyes flickered into agitated golden orbs scorched by a burning flame as soon as she heard the remark. Fortunately, his friend stepped in on his behalf and played the role of the enforcer and Saskia inhaled deeply to calm herself as her eyes flickered back to their original serene blue hue.
“Well, it’s certainly good you were able to keep him in check Nyumo. It’s apparent the boy’s mouth has no filter. Perhaps I’ll have to just disown him as my student. A lack of discipline is just intolerable. Any self respecting woman wouldn’t put up with such blatant insults. Perhaps I should just invest my time elsewhere. “ Saskia sighed with a wave of her hand as she looked at the giant approach them and behave in a weird manner, she simply cocked her head to the side and observed quietly.
"So how do you two know each other? From the game, or back in the real world?" Saskia asked as she turned to look at Burai and Nyumo.

Lost in the moment. Burai's saw that his crude humor, did not win over Nyumo. To his surprised she took a rather serious stance. He felt his mood plummet. His heart sank as he stared at Nyumo. Did he give her too much credit? He was confident that Nyumo would join him in his haughty endeavors. She was supposed to see what he said, as a joke in poor taste. And they would share a moment to themselves and laugh. They would bond and she would scold him.
His old thought, or possibly idea, played out differently in his mind. He didn't see this reaction coming at all. He assumed she would be someone flustered, but it appeared as if she was genuinely upset with him. "Perhaps she is a lady after all." She dug her nails into his shoulder, threatening him. Burai found himself in disbelief. Was this all really happening? Suddenly, he could feel his shoulder pulsate and throbbed in pain. The pain only stung in comparison to her words. Her words were like daggers coated with lemon juice, piercing his heart.
He was disappointed, in Nyumo. He could see that his joke was in poor taste. But he couldn't fathom the idea, of why she would threaten him. And, to the degree. The disappointment resonated in his chest and touched his heart. He felt a void, in his chest. He closed his eyes and sighed heavily. "What an annoying, feeling." He didn't like this gloomy setting. He was feeling stressed, and dispirited. He turned his attention to what he said before. Perhaps it was a crime to speak one's mind freely. There weren't any bad intentions behind the joke. But, perhaps there should've been He had been joking With Gaijin, and Saskia previously.
Maybe, the joke went too far. He didn't see anything wrong in what he said. But, the joke really lost some of its original glimmer. Weren't they all friends? He let out a sigh, and thought about what Nyumo told him. He thought about apologizing to Saskia. But, he remembered what he told her while they were in the swamp. And, he didn't feel like apologizing. If he did, he would only be doing it, cause Nyumo demanded. He wasn't going to be bound by rules, and guidelines, or live another lie. That is how he lived in his own life. And, that only brought him pain and misery. Why would he live that way here? "If being myself brings ruin to others, fine. I won't lie to myself. Rather, they scold and despise me for being who I am."
He opened his eyes, and stared at Nyumo with a grin on his face. "Mo Mo chan, making such idle threats, and to me no less. " He spoke in a playful tone toward his best friend. Burai casually brought his hand to her wrist and gently grasped it. "You are breaking my heart." He tilted his head to the right, as he spoke. Suddenly, he tightened his grip around her wrist and glared at her. "Direct threats require decisive action. Go ahead, make my day." He spoke in a flat, phlegmatic voice. Gaijin came alone and used Nyumo to measure his spear. Normally, Burai would've laughed whole heartedly to the demonstration. But, he wasn't in a laughing mood. He looked at Gaijin's weapon, and then at him. He gave him a thumbs up.
Burai took this moment to pull away from Nyumo and stand up. He couldn't believe how tall Gaijin actually was. He found his height suiting to his look. He wanted to climb on him and sit on his shoulder, as Nyumo did to him. Only to get a sense of how it felt. He took his mind off such idle fancies. And turned his attention over to Saskia, she spoke quite a bit. Her idea was nice. Creating a new civilization where the community could thrive. It was a good gesture and he appreciated it. But, he didn't believe that it would be possible. For something to thrive and be successful, something else has to fall. He took it upon himself to respond to her lovely comments about him. "My 'attitude' is no debuff. I am who I am without apology. Why sugar coat things? I like to be up front and honest. Unless you want me to stop? "
He placed his right hand in his pocket, . "Don't worry about disowning me. I resign, as your student 'Textbook.' You are a wonderful teacher. You might say I lack discipline. I call it free will. You know I don't approve of rules." He paused for a moment, "Nyumo was my best friend. In real life Before the game." Burai was aware he said was instead of 'is.' He didn't take her threat lightly, she was more precious to him than anything. He would never threaten her, but she did so, and over a joke? He turned away from the group, "I'll take that as my cue to leave. I need to go find a lesser valued company." Burai raised his hand above his head, and waved. He placed his hand in his pocket. "See you lovely ladies around. You too Gaijin." He held up his head, and slowly walked toward the entrance.

CAN'T HOLD ME NOW YOU GOT NOTHING THAT CAN STOP ME NOW Nyumo stared intently into Burai's eyes, searching for something that would suggest he would realize what he was saying about Saskia was wrong. It didn't seem like that was the case though, he looked truly pained by what she'd said to him. This was the first time she'd ever actively called him out on a joke gone wrong, things were different here though, they didn't have the luxuries of logging out and ignoring their actions now. "This isn't like us Burai." Her heart skipping a beat when he reached up and took her wrist into his hand. Her own heart sinking into the pit of her stomach hearing his words of her seeming betrayal of his confidence. "Y-... you know I couldn't strike you if I wanted to." Her voice strained to get out she knew she went too far with what she said, even if he started it with his poorly presented joke it was on her now and she felt horrible. She watched him stand back up and return his attention back to Saskia. What was she supposed to do in the instance, was she just supposed to go along with his joke, she couldn't sit by and let another woman's integrity be smeared. She thinks she understood why it was said, maybe as his own wall of defense from what's already happened to him.
Nyumo's world started to crumble around her as Burai responded to Saskia that they 'were' friends, her whole body felt numb at the thought that she was going to be alone again. A sense of dread was washing over her entirety, she was about to lose the only person she's been close to for so long, and it was going to be over a woman they'd only just met. Her vision started to become blurred by the welling of tears in her eyes, barely able to find the strength to lift a hand in his direction. "Shin- Burai... You can't really mean that right? Come on, we're inseparable right?" She laughs half-heartedly slowly curling her fingers back into her hand. "I'm a woman too, what if someone you hardly knew called me a harlot? Would you playfully go along with them? Do you understand what kind of feeling that would leave me with to know that it's okay to called such a thing casually?" Her voice was wavering, between holding back the growing anxiety of losing him and trying to still defend Saskia. "Please don't go." It felt like they were the only two in the room to her at this point, everything they had done together was about to disappear and it was going to be her fault. She wasn't prepared for this, it was as if she was trapped in a volcano about to erupt. All that time spent building around itself, then a hiccup in the core of everything and it's suddenly critical mass and she had no real way to quill the magma.

» Piper flumped over after Gaijin let go of her, feeling exhausted from the ordeal of the embrace. She eventually managed to get back up with heavy breaths; when she did, she saw that the atmosphere of the group had turned... very acidic. Piper was confused; everyone had been so friendly just a few moments before, and now Burai was threatening to leave and Nyumo was on the verge of tears.
"Woah, woah, woah... What's going on now?" Piper scratched her head; she did not understand how a pair could go from being so close one second and then nearly splitting apart the next. As Nyumo began speaking, Piper was even more confused.
"Wait... who called who a what now?" Burai had been a bit of a jerk earlier, to be sure, but casually throwing around insults, especially THAT sort of insult, was just plain wrong and was even a mark of stupidity. He had thrown out a sexist remark that, while unacceptable in any social situation, was completely moronic in a group with three powerful women, all three of which were of higher level and could totally kick his ass.
"Listen, Burai," Piper said with a huff, "there is a difference between being true to yourself and just being an asshole. Right now, you are just being an asshole. And if you have even the slightest lick of common sense and decency, you will apologize to Nyumo and Saskia and stop making Nyumo beg for your forgiveness for calling you out on your crap." A good friend was someone who made you own up to your mistakes; the person who would tell you to grit your teeth and give you a big hit in the jaw to snap yourself out of your own bull. Burai would need to learn that, one way or the other.

Woah woah, what the hell just happened? Gaijin cursed himself for not being able to understand their language. He would learn it as fast as possible, that was a promise. The small woman Gaijin had just used to measure his spear against was on the verge of tears. Had Burai hurt her? The only other male in the group had certainly seemed a bit agitated, but given his earlier laughter Gaijin hadn’t thought it serious. Gaijin certainly wouldn’t have said he sounded angry either, but given his handicap he wasn’t the best judge of that. He watched Burai go. The man moved slowly, but with purpose. It made Gaijin think that whatever had just happened, Burai accepted it begrudgingly. It reminded Alex of the look his father had after getting laid off from a job he couldn’t physically do anymore. His dad had tried to be calm wherever anyone could see him, but Alex remembered seeing him alternate between tears and throwing things in anger.
A quick glance at his new family showed that she was angry at the dark skinned monk. It was all the giant needed to know. The women would comfort each other as all women do. Gaijin would do his job as a man and act. If Piper wanted to take action against the other man, Gaijin would be there to make sure it succeeded. The giant moved to follow Burai as quietly as possible. A small icon appeared at the corner of his vision that he failed to notice. Though truth be told, he wasn’t solely doing this for Piper. Remembering that dark night where he had woken to get a drink, Alex had found his father sitting alone in the dark at the kitchen table. There was an empty bottle of alcohol on the table and a gun in his hand. It was pointed the wrong way. No, Gaijin wouldn’t allow it this time. He could not leave the man alone.

Guardian - Cavalier - Brewer ____________________________________________________
An overwhelming feeling swelled within her chest as her back was turned to the group. She felt an eerie aura in the midst. Something felt unsettling in the atmosphere. A sense of dread and despair coated her lungs and suffocated the spirits of the other that were present.
Once more her eyes flickered golden orange like a half broken lightbulb. Glowing faintly then blinking away, the spirit of the flames swirling then lying ever so dormant once again. She focused her thousand yard stare away from then as her wolf hair ears heard the loud clap of a heavy han clasp around the feminine grace of Nymo’s slender wrists.
The cherry blossom haired knight spun around like a phoenix as she cocked her head to the side in astonishment of what she was just witnessing.
There was an enormous paradigm shift in Burai’s behavior as Saskia began to sense his spiritual alignment sway into darker paths. He seemed angry as if flooded by the fuels of fire. A burning resentment scorched in his eyes as he succumbed to the demon within. She could feel it. The swirling darkness that etched into hs heart, seeping into his senses and distorting his mind.
For that eerie moment, he was not behaving maturely. He was acting arrogant and foolish, much like a child. No. This was no child. It was possible that this was just the hatchling of a monster as he bred himself by dieting only on the devious. Indulging on his appetite to fufill his own selfish desires. He cared of no one other than himself, that so much was aparrent.
So much explosion of emotion over a dumbass series of jokes that went too far. The extend to where a man would go to protect his ego. It was downright despicable. She watch as the sinuous words snaked from his silver tongue. How he dismissed one of his potentially closest friends as if she were nothing to him. The way he snatched her hand off him and threatened her with very choice words.
The Wolf Hair let down her guard, falling into a sea of emotions that surrounded her. Her voice quivered as she was met with a foreign face. It was if she had seen a stranger. The man who stood before her was not the same one who she felt she could so tenderly embrace.
She fumbled on her words as he discarded her like waste and rose from the floor to cast malicious words at his former master, Saskia. The golden eyed Guardian maintain her rigorous stance in her elegant purple floral dress. She was a bit more reserved, but vigilant that the situation didn’t become hostile. After all, she followed the law of speak softly and carry a big stick. It would only take a hair of a second for her to [Quick Swap] into her combat gear, should such a scenario break out.
However, she felt that even Burai was smarter than that. Certainly there may come a day when she may have to take up arms against yet another adventurer, but she prayed in her heart that today did not have to be that day.
She listened to Nyumo’s respectable urges to make reason with the black behemoth. She poured her heart and soul into her words. Saskia was very uncertain on whether the words would be able to be digested by the stubborn bull.
Piper, the bubbly and bright monk also shifted in her nature and seemed quite agitated at the stir Burai was causing in the group. She decided to give Burai a piece of her mind, whether he liked it or not. That was one thing Saskia admired about her. She wasn’t afraid to have the personal and moral courage it took to take a stand for someone.
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw the other larger guardian instinctlively react to Piper being upset. She noticed a wave of physical escalation of force in the air as he took his stand beside Piper. He seemed to be ready to fight against the other monk.
A sharp bright flash of light resonated in her eyes, as she darted forward, with no need to maintain stealth. The clicking of her purple heels started to turn into the heavy thud of steel greaves as she cut inbetween the two men and brandished her Stratford Arms Steel Sword and Startford Arms Great Shield as her teeth grew into sharp carnivorous canine fangs and her brilliant pink mane grew thicker.
“Tch...idiots.” Saskia sneered. “Are you really in that much of a rush to lose your memories over a insignificant shift of emotions. Cool the hell down. All of you. Do not let your emotions cloud your judgement. If he want’s to leave, let him. That’s his own perrogative. Whether she chooses to walk down the path of pride and feed his own selfish ego or if he has a change of heart and chooses to walk down the road of reconciliation, it is ultimately his choice. Just like it’s your choice whether you want to fight here and die or let this blow over and live. Understand this. You die here and a fragment of your memory is lost forever. Any kills Burai, it may come to a point to where he doesn’t even remember who the hell he is. It could make matters worse! So stand down...Piper get Gaijin. Before the damn Royal Guards come crawling all over the place. ”
Saskia then turned to face Burai, as she tapped the edge of her steel blade against her thick coat of armor.
“Burai. You can’t fool me, mate. You see, I understand Anger. The underlying issue of anger is always fear. What are you so afraid of?” Saskia asked as she kept her sword pointed at the guardian, to stray him from assaulting the Monk. “What hurt you so much that you have to detach yourself from the rest of society?”

To forget would be a blessing
Burai eye focused on the entrance, he was feeling confident everything was going smoothly. His heart rate began to slow down and beat at a regular rate. He just needed to continue walking. He said his piece, with little venom. No, one shouldn't have too much to complain about. He wasn't sure how Nyumo would respond. Or, if she would care. Burai rarely talked about himself, or let go of his emotions. This was partially the reason why. Nothing good ever comes from them. But there was a time when he didn't have to keep them barricaded inside. When he was alone, or with Nyumo. Or, when he was at the gym. These were all his outlets, sources that allowed him to relieve his stress and forget about his baggage.
Isolation appeared to be the easiest and most appropriate solution. Being the easy, didn't make it right. This dampened his mood more. The continuous feeling of being stressed and worked. It was annoying beyond measure. He wanted to leave, to escape from this emotional roller coaster. This wasn't the time to get wrapped up in an emotional entanglement. This was Gaijin's first day, and it's already been tainted. Burai smirked for a moment. "At least his first day wasn't boring." The smirked faded from his lips and was replaced with a scowl.
Burai paused, he placed his feet firmly on the floor. He listened to Nyumo, giving her his undivided attention. She almost called him by his real name. This caused him to understand how serious she was about this. An overwhelming sensation surging through his chest. It wasn't like the pain he had felt before. But, he wanted to stop time and embrace her for an eternity. He couldn't believe he was feeling guilty, or why did he still care about her well being. Though, he was relieved. Knowing that he couldn't get rid of his feelings for her so easily, it was a godsend. He took out his left hand stroked the side of his face. He gently rotated his index and middle fingers around in a circular motion on his temple.
He didn't know how to express himself. Everything he said before rang fresh in his mind. Rather than appeal to him with her own desires, she still chose to defend Saskia. This annoyed Burai. But, that was the kind of person she was. He couldn't fault her for being kind. His hand trailed from his temple down to the back of his neck. He mustered his thoughts and took a deep breath. "I am so-"
Piper lashed out at Burai, this interrupted him. She was a more colorful and unpleasant version of 'Textbook.' She appealed to his morals; calling him an asshole for his rude behavior. Course he was being rude and heartless this whole time. He didn't agree with her assessment. But, he could easily see the point she was trying to make. He quickly interjected, "Here, I thought we were getting along so-well." He took a pause and he effortlessly let go of his neck and shrugged. Burai was sure she meant well. But, she was insufferable. "Piper, perhaps I'm just an asshole. And, I a kick out of making girls cry. I'm not making anyone beg forgiveness. I might me a monster, an abomination, but even I have my limits. "
Part of what he told her was a lie. He didn't enjoy making girls cry. Unlike, her he wasn't going to insult them and then try to lecture them about human decency. Seriously, that was just cruel. Burai would remember this, next time he gets in an argument with someone he doesn't like. "I shall try to follow up, your performance next time I find myself in a similar situation. Cut them with the tip of my tongue, and then add a pinch of salt." He said, as tilted his head back smiling.
He wouldn't expose his feelings. He was going to keep them locked away. It made things easier if they all thought of him as a pompous jerk. Dealing with labels, was always easy. He noticed Gaijin was approaching him. Burai turned completely around and addressed the man. He wasn't sure if what Gaijin planned to do. But if he wanted to fight, Burai would indulge him. He needed something to take his mind off of all the drama.
He held out his left hand like a stop sign. "Someone call the guard dog. Though, I wouldn't mind a fight. It would ease a lot of the tension. But, seriously though Gaijin go back to the girls. " He slid his hand into his pockets, and shook each of his legs. He didn't expect Gaijin to understand him, but he had to try. Burai stood straight up staring into Gaijin face, snarling. He didn't know what the giant played on doing. Was he going to console him, or try to attack him. His rude face gestures were interrupted by Saskia. She cut in showing off her equipment. Burai took his eyes off of Gaijin and stared at Saskia, she bared her fangs.
She informed them of 'death,' or the proceedings of what happens as one dies in the game. And she sent out a notion to call off her hounds. Burai stared at Saskia intensely. She mentioned that she couldn't be fooled and that she understood anger. Burai didn't want to answer her question right away. He would stray from the original point."Oh, So if I die, I'll forget my life?" He thought about it further, "In other words the more you die, the more you become integrated into the game. Seems like I found my cure." He smiled at her, he had no qualms about forgetting his life. There are memories he held dear, but to forget about the pain he and his father had to endure. He couldn't of asked for a better miracle. And, Saskia gave him the key.
Knowing this, he would stray away from death. He would embrace it. Burai had no intention on going back to his old life. He glanced over at Nyumo, and then at Saskia. "Textbook, I don't like to hide things. I'm rather straight forward. I don't feel comfortable tell you three bout my own personal baggage. It won't interfere with you. I promise." His eyes lingered, over toward Nyumo. She wasn't something he wanted to forget. He redirected his eyes at Saskia, "Since I'm going to forget it soon, I guess I could share it with you."
He turned to the side, and looked at the wall. He didn't want to see anyone's face as he told a small story. "I'll get into the details, My mother caused me and my dad. A lot of grief. She resented me, and the responsibilities of being a 'mom.' And would always go out get drunk, or abuse drugs. I spent the majority of my childhood nursing her back to health everytime she came home wasted. Or, if she was in the middle of nowhere she would call me. I never asked for anything in return. She was my mother. It was only natural for me to take care of her."
Burai paused, as he remembered when he came home, skipping school. And walked in on his mother with another man. He collected himself, "I got tired of school one day, and decided to walk home during P.E. When I got home there was my wonderful mother, with some random guy. Never caught his name, sorry! But he was scruffy looking," He threw in the random joke to lighten the mood, and to give off the setting that it didn't phase him. "But, my father walked in and soon a fight broke out. My mom sided with her boyfriend. The three of them fought and destroyed the house. I did the only sensible thing and called the police."
He also closed himself off from people after watching his mom and dad brutally fight each other. "Mom, didn't come back after that. Everything else is pretty pale in comparison. Pretty boring, right Textbook? I'm not trying to sway you with my story. Personally, I rather you, act like a piper. And just leave it as me being an asshole." He turned to face her and gave her a smile.
He took a step back, and closed his eyes. "As you said before, I have to make a choice. I made it a while ago. I told you before, I will forge my own path with my own hands. I won't ask for anyone's pity or understanding. I don't need it." He opened his eyes, and stared at Saskia. "Thank you, I appreciate your concern." Burai had no interest in dwelling in 'society.' He didn't feel, as if he belonged here. He suddenly remembered he didn't finish telling Nyumo. "I am sorry, I don't think I ever told you this. To me, you are the most precious treasure anyone could find, and I don't understand why something so priceless, would try to compare itself to something of lesser value. You are a true friend, through and through. You are amazing, but if someone did make a harlot joke about you. I would laugh so hard. The only thing I could see you being promiscuous with, is food."
Burai sighed dejectedly, if he left Nyumo. He would hurt her badly. The pain of abandonment, something he never could forget. He would be doing the equivalent of what his mother did unto him, to Nyumo. Though he was angry with her, he didn't want to cause her that kind of pain. He was thankful she didn't say anything about his mother. It would only cause the others to poke and prod him more. "An-you know Nyumo, I am an asshole, a jerk. I have no opinion, how people see me. You wouldn't be alone if I left. Look at everyone defending you now. You can make many friends, just use me as an anchor. Blame it all on me, it will make things easier for you." He shrugged, this was true wasn't it?
It would hurt right now, but she'll recover. Burai wasn't certain if what he was doing was right. But, he couldn't half-ass it either. He had to be honest with her. "I rather cut my losses, and just be a heartless jerk. I don't want to cause you that pain. For the sake of morale I should go." Burai ended his remark with a playful tone. Hoping it would be comforting for her, and present company.

CAN'T HOLD ME NOW YOU GOT NOTHING THAT CAN STOP ME NOW Nyumo watched helplessly as the procession went on in their berating of Burai, everyone was so quick to try and pull the rug out from under him and force his hand. It wasn't her intention to cause this sudden ruckus, she handled the situation poorly and it was coming to an ugly head with two offended girls more than herself. She watched as the other wolf hair noisily made her footing across the ground to stand between the two giants clad in armor, inquiring to what caused him to be as blunt around the girls as he was, she hoped he would just brush her off as he seemed intent to do from the start of this. A pang of guilt hit her like a brick, she had no idea that when you died in the game, you lost a bit of who you were before it. It was only so long ago that she was warned about dying in the game and just blew it off as if it was just another set back in the grind to level cap, this would change so much to how they should play the game and yet he was going to willingly let it happen. Her pupils danced in thought searching through her concentration about the repercussions of such a thing; how much would they forget each time, how would they even know what they've forgotten for it to be significant, how much of themselves would they lose.
A shiver runs up her entire body with Burai's voice breaking her trance, her eyes fire up from the floor to look at the group once more, brows furrowed to define her worries with what she knew was coming. "No... no no no not like this." She let out in the softest of breaths. "This isn't how they should find out." Her words barely intelligible while watching from afar, she didn't want that part of the other side to have to come out. This was supposed to be an away from everything for them, a way to be free from the hurt on the outside and now it weaseled its way into the game too. Shaking away the bad thoughts starting to crowd her mind, she steels herself up as best as she can and makes her way to the others again. Almost breaking into tears again as she got up to the group once more with him saying such nice things now after being so cold a minute ago, they really were a mess of a friendship. Reaching a hand out, she gently touches her fingers to his forearm, her cheeks flushed from the constant wave of emotions she was having, she couldn't help but laugh and smile at him "That's not fair, being all serious and then joke around like that." Taking in a deep breath, she rebuilds her resolve to speak up again, her eyes drawn to where her fingers were placed. "You're not an asshole, but you are a jerk sometimes but that's just you know, how it is yeah? You're being a butt and trying to decide what's best for me without even consulting me first." With her head still hanging down, her eyes trail up to look at Burai with a small plea in her gaze. "We're supposed to be playing this together aren't we? Don't be so ready to make yourself as the villain to appease the words of others. I was wrong to threaten you with violence, I think we both just need to be mindful of our words? We're in this for the long haul, if we're supposed to be exploring this new world, I'd rather do it from your shoulder anyways." She flashes a toothy grin and a chuckle up to him hoping she would have had some leeway in getting him back to his own senses about the situation. They were a couple of hot heads when they really got down to it, and let themselves both be the victim for a moment. Now hopefully they could let the hostile air die out and go back to being their normal dynamic. Only time would tell at this point.

» Piper put a soft hand on Gaijin's shoulder and shook her head to stop him; Gaijin probably did not know about the Royal Guard. It would not have been right for Piper to let him charge into a fight without being aware of that danger; that fighting in the confines of the city meant death was virtually guaranteed.
Piper was... thoroughly unimpressed with Burai's story. It was sad, of course, but it was also completely disconnected from the issue they were facing; Burai's neglectful and resentful mother had nothing to do with him insulting Saskia and then refusing to own up to it.
Piper did not think Burai was a villain. Villains were cartoon figures, people who just do bad things because the heroes needed someone to beat up on. No, Piper thought Burai was a coward. He was so caught up in his limp wristed man pain that he could not, or simply would not, empathize with other people and understand how his actions and words affected them. He had insulted Saskia and made Nyumo cry, and he had decided to make a caricature out of himself rather than accept that he was a human being who was capable of screwing up every once and a while. Piper rubbed her temples and sighed an exasperated sigh; she had neither the energy nor the motivation to work through Burai's issues. He was going to have to figure it out himself, or else he would end up being very alone.
Piper was equally frustrated with Nyumo, of course; she was enabling Burai's bad habits, forgiving him for his faults without expecting him to work on them. In Piper's eyes, there was only one thing worse than man pain, and that was a woman indulging in man pain. Things were going to go south for these two, for sure, and there was not much of anything Piper or anyone else could do for them. Piper decided to keep quiet, for now. Maybe she would go punch some slimes later to relieve this frustration.

Gaijin would have seen Burai’s obvious emotion while he told the story of his past. He would have seen the heartbreak followed by the steely determination. He would have come to the conclusion that Burai wasn’t going to kill himself out of depression. He would have believed all of these things because of Nyumo’s actions. She genuinely cared for Burai and would probably do anything for him. And Burai would do anything for her too. Everything would have resolved peacefully if Gaijin had only seen it. He didn’t.
Gaijin saw only two things. Saskia’s look of determination and her sword pointed directly at him. The point hovered a short distance in front of his exposed heart. She was threatening to kill him. Direct threats require decisive action. Gaijin would have laughed at how similar the thought process was to Burai’s own if he had understood the earlier comment. There was a hand on his shoulder. It was his newly adopted sister’s hand, pleading with him not to fight. Why? Was she concerned that he would be killed? Or was she concerned that he would kill Saskia? Surely as family her loyalties lay with him.
Gaijin watched Saskia’s cold golden eyes. He had been wrong by an amount he would have thought impossible. Burai was not a bully being reined in by his leader. He had been a dog forced to do his master’s bidding. Gaijin smirked. She really was a foolish woman. She trained a dog to be a wolf and believes she can still control it after getting bit. And now she was exerting force on him as if he too was a dog to be made to heel at her feet. He felt the weight of that too light spear in his hand. It would simply not do in a fight. But it had its uses. With his right hand the giant guardian gently pushed his sister behind him. While breath remained in his lungs Piper would be safe from this evil woman who clearly did not have Piper’s best interests in heart. She had messed with the bull. Raising his left hand high overhead, the giant thrust his horn downwards towards the pink haired woman’s head.

Guardian - Cavalier - Brewer ____________________________________________________
There were more degrees in the area than a thermometer as things started to get heated and the tension rose like the lava in an erupted volcano. Saskia tried to remain an air of calm and confidence during the whole ordeal as she sensed things were starting to get shaky. There were far too many emotions in the air and she felt she had to diffuse this ticking time bomb before things got bad. The first one to tick of course was the narcissistic pit bull, Burai, as she had expected. Boy had this guy taken a turn for the worse.
He was hurting so deep inside that he had become outright delusional. He was craving the thrill of death to mend his broken heart. Would he really go that far just to numb the pain? To be a shadow of his former self. A hollow vessel, void of true life, emotion, thoughts. These things that made a person human. How twisted was his chain of thought? Was he just bluffing to get a rise out of us? It was only a matter of time before the others would realize just how emotionally and mentally draining he was on the rest of them.
Saskia kept her eyes focused on Gaijin, she barely even so much as blinked as Burai muttered his toxic words, then went on on his soap box to discuss his life story. While she listened, she made sure to keep her sense of sympathy detached from him. She knew she couldn’t afford to be the emotional one in this situation despite hearing about the circumstances he went through. She knew most likely their was nothing she could do or say to heal his wounds. Even he was beyond her reach now. He was a self-proclaimed burden to other people so he chose to walk away.
However, there did seem to be some small thread of him that remained connected to Nyumo, no matter how slight. He shared a touching moment as he reminisced on fond moments. He tried to make an excuse for her to just let him be. For him to just be left to whatever pathetic fate he was going to throw himself into blindly.
Nyumo seemed to be the most emotionally vulnerable among the group. Saskia however, was concerned of the possibility of Burai playing on her emotions and being a manipulative prick. It was hard to discern, but Saskia however had dealt with similiar situations and arguements with her ex in real life, and though she tried to fight for the man, he ended up abusing her, when she took his side against her own family, she would realize her efforts to make things work were in vain. Some people were just toxic creatures and were nothing more than parasites. Saskia couldn’t help but feel a light ain in her heart as Nyumo spoke. She squinted at her would a heavy gaze as she didn’t know whether to be disappointed at how she enabled Burai’s poor behavior or affirming of the fact that she is still even trying to push for reconciliation and to try to save him fom himself. Had Saskia been that naive, too? Back when she was Hope MacLaren?
An eerie sense of nostalgia washed over her as she turned her golden eyes over to Piper who was trying to calm down Gaijin. Saskia knew she cared about him and of course, Saskia had no intentions to harm anyone and hoped Piper understood this. She felt like she had to intervene for the greater good or else there would be needless bloodshed.
However, it would seem that her plan would backfire. She could sense the primal instincts in his glare. He chuckled in a way that seemed to hint at malicious intent. Even the hand that Piper, the woman he felt closest too here, did little to stay his lust for battle. Saskia’s eyes grew colder in gaze, as she wondered if he would retaliate at Piper. Saskia was concerned for the safety of the others above all else. The way he pushed her gently almost set off a spark, but it seemed that he was not trying to harm her. He had bigger fish to fry.
Saskia blinked as she wasn’t sure if she could take him very seriously right now. He was being as stubborn as Burai. He rose his hand high above her head, and the giant began to slam his hand downward at Saskia’s head with all the brutality of a fierce behemoth.
Pew!
Zero Damage.
Was that it? Seriously!?!
Saskia’s head didn’t even seem to move at all. There was just a fist that collided with her [Mana Liner Shield] that she had equipped that activated once impending danger came into play. It was as if the man had hit a brick wall as the layer of mana absorbed the shock from the attack.
“Are you Done?” Her silver fangs growled as she stared up at him unflinching. She sheathed her sword back into it’s royal blue scabbard that was adorned with golden lacing. She sighed and scratched the back of her head in a casual manner slightly irritated.
“I’m going to need a drink after this...I just know it.” Saskia mumbled. She wasn’t exactly too concerned with Gaijin as she was with the large purple orbs that manifested in the air and the giant [Royal Guards] that scaled down from them.
“Well, if it isn’t the silent vigilantes...” Saskia muttered as she took a swig from her flask of booze. “Welp, I swear I’m not drunk officer..”
Saskia let out a disheartened chuckle then raise a concerned glare at them as she understood just how dire the situation was. The pair of Royal Guards that emerged were level 120. That meant an instant one hit KO for everyone here except maybe herself, nd even then she’d only be making it by the skin of her teeth, if she got lucky.
“This ends now. “ Saskia gritted her teeth and raised her hands in a surrendering gesture, more for the sake of the wayward Guardian than her own. “Any more acts of violence and he’ll die. And not by my hands. It’ll be from them. And I don’t think I have the power to stop them.” Saskia muttered.
“I hope you’re quick on the draw with that Pen, Piper, or your buddy here might just be digging his own grave...” Saskia said as she coldly gazed at Piper, hoping she would have the sense to react quickly enough to somehow diffuse the situation. If she didn’t, then Saskia still had a few bag of tricks up her sleeve.

To forget would be a blessing
Burai was in disbelief. After telling Saskia part of his reason why he has distanced himself from people. Immediately after he regretted the decision. He told him one of his most painful memories. They had nothing to say, and judging from the silence. He assumed They had nothing to say cause it would only make things worse, or they didn't care and labeled him. That's why he never bothers to get involved with others. They allowed their judgment to affect how they feel about others. Just like everyone else, Burai added Saskia and Piper to that proverbial list.
Burai didn't fault Gaijin, he had a legitimate excuse. He was deaf until he logged in. And, it would be unfair for him to compare him to the "others" when he never had a proper chance. What did he deserve some treatment from others. "Why do I even bother?" Their silence, only added to his feeling of being alienated. "This is exactly why I shut myself from people. Cause of actions like these. Despite hearing my story. You had nothing to say, not a single word. I'm disappointed. You decided to stay silent? For what purpose? You asked me what happened and you can't even have the common decency to respond. Why would I open myself to people be treated like this? You would just ignore my feelings?" Burai understood that his emotions toward his family were dark, and gloomy. But, he couldn't change it, he decided to accept it and harden his heart. It bothered him greatly, that Piper and Saskia had nothing to say. It was stupid, and naive of him to believe They would understand and accept him.
He felt something grab hold of his arm. A familiar warmth resonated from his forearm, it quickly spread throughout his body like a plague. The feeling was an unwanted bliss. He was lost in that feeling, such an intoxicating pleasure. He felt his anger subside, he paused for a moment to regain his composure, he couldn't allow himself to be swayed so easily. He thought about Nyumo, and their friendship outside the game. How they met and how they would do everything together. He snapped out of the daze, as he felt someone's fingers lace gently around his forearm. Burai stood vigilantly, and didn't budge. He was curious who would touch him now? And, only one person came to mind. Who would be so bold, and It was Nyumo. Why was she so persistent about staying together? He felt indifferent. He was pleased she could laugh at a time like this. But, he wanted her to let him go. Everything would be better off that way. He would be away from people, and focus on himself. He didn't know what he would do with his solitude. But he would enjoy himself thoroughly.
He brushed his idle thoughts aside and addressed Nyumo's concern. He didn't want to look at her face. If he saw her face, his resolve would cave in. And, all this would've been for nothing. He tilted his face down toward Nyumo, and cast his glance away from her. "I won't stop you from following me, or staying by my side. I refuse to live another lie. Being seen as a villain, or a jerk doesn't matter. They're just someone's skewed opinion." He slowly extended his other hand and placed it on the top of her head. He caressed the top of her head. "Not the best apology, but that is what I got. "
He let go of Nyumo's head, and shifted his body to the side. He stared at the other three with a plain look on his face. Piper had her hand on Gaijin, and he had a very peculiar glint in his eye. He pushed piper behind him. "Oh?" Burai was curious, what was Gaijin planning on doing. Burai took a moment to examine the situation. This doesn't look good." Burai laughed whole heartedly, as he saw Gaijin club the top of Saskia's head with his hand. Burai found this more than just amusing, it was karma.
What happened next caught him by surprise, as the [Royal Guards] appeared. "So these guys are the npcs in town that attack you, if you attack someone else? Tch, I was expecting something more" Burai considered them like the other guards in other mmo's once you get out of their aggro range, or town you'll be fine. At his current level, they would most likely kill him in one shot. He felt a desire to attack one of the guards, or maybe one of the people around him. Before he made his decision himself heard Saskia 'advise' piper to restrain Gaijin.
This angered Burai beyond belief. He yanked his arm away from Nyumo, and stared at Saskia. "HOW DARE YOU!" He yelled, as he angerily took a step forward. "You decide to insult him yourself? You equip on your gear, and point your sword in his direction. You expect him not to take it seriously!? You have no such right! Being a harlot is the least of your worries. You are something far worse. You yellow belly, invertebrate poltroon!" He was aware that has his name calling could've been done in one word. But, simply calling her a coward wouldn't suffice. "I know I'm far from perfect. I would never share my problems with anyone, that is my burden. But, I will take responsibility for all my actions. I can't believe I looked up to someone who could be so tactless." He spit, on the ground to curse her image of being his teacher even more.
Burai cracked his neck from side to side, and placed his hands into his pockets. He looked over at Piper and sneered. "That was and insult!" Burai nodded at Nyumo, signaling for her to leave. He wasn't going to leave Gaijin alone. This brute, did nothing wrong, and was defending himself. Burai didn't care if he was outmatched by the [Royal Guards], Piper or Saskia. He would provide Gaijin with all the help he could muster, even if it was only for a millisecond.

CAN'T HOLD ME NOW YOU GOT NOTHING THAT CAN STOP ME NOW Nyumo continued to hurt for her friend, this misunderstanding had completely gone off the deep end. As if the tapestry of fate became knotted and discordant, the very air they breathed tangible with the hostile aura about them. If she could take back the viper tongue she lashed out with, at the very least diffused his words more tactfully things wouldn't have escalated so quickly into the cesspool it'd become. She was trying at least, she just wished he hadn't brought up what was going on elsewhere. They're in the game now, none of that matters anymore, it's supposed to be a fresh start away from all of that. She should know that better than anyone about the freedom's of being a completely different person in a world that isn't your own, being able to enjoy the things you normally can't, it was all laid out before them yet it seemed everyone else still brought the baggage with them. If only she could grab the ticket claim and rip it apart and let the wind take it from there for everyone else.
Her train of thought immediately derailed by the heavy hand landing on top of her head, another shade of red takes over her whole face, if it were anyone else it would've felt condescending to her stature. It was his own small way of showing he wasn't ready to discard her just yet, she was thankful enough to get that much out of him for all her efforts. It really wasn't something you could convey to others at the drop of a hat, you can't expect people to take in what pains you so easily. Maybe it would be easy to drop everything and leave, start fresh in the new world without burdening herself with everything that comes with the other side. That would be a spit in the face of everything he has done for her, showing her a different perspective of things, giving her something to completely shed the shell she was molded in over time. In the worlds like this, was where she blossomed and became more than herself, something she couldn't achieve naturally. The shackles of mediocrity shattered by her own hands, a feat she wouldn't have known about had Burai not shown it to her. She had so much to thank him for, for helping her be truer to herself than ever before. It was essentially her duty to do the same for him in her mind, help him through his troubles one way or another, till he could be true to himself at last.
The audible entrance of the [Royal Guards] caught her attention, finally letting her hand retreat from Burai's forearm. With Gaijin's initiative at Saskia it looked like things went from hostile to... well very hostile, even if he didn't actively impact her with his feeble attack, it obviously drew the attention of the protective mechanic they were built with. Saskia was quite obviously not willing to quarrel with something well above all of their levels, even if they were capped out she didn't think it would be something they could actively achieve, but it was meant to be that way. She pondered if dueling was allowed within the city limits so long as the parties agreed to it before hand, all the same this definitely wanted a wanted engagement by most parties. Her eyes scroll over to Burai with concern written on her face, she wasn't ready to have to deal with something so strong, it's not like she invited them herself. Eyeing Burai put his hands in his pockets, she felt the shiver run up her spine and fluff her hair at the understanding of what was about to occur. Without a second of hesitation, she let out the breath she'd been holding in for some time and drew the length of her weapon from its sheath with an essence of flair before setting the back of the blade to the muscle of her shoulder. "If you have to be Dick Dastardly, at least let me be Muttley." Taking in another long breath and closing her eyes, she let the sensation wash over her in contemplation of the next few seconds that were about to come to a head. With a slow audible exhale, she snaps her eyes open, their typical blue grey turning over to the golden hue of the wolf hair. If she was going to have to fight, she wasn't going to half ass it, it was full ass or no ass; maybe some sass somewhere in there for good measure, that sounds like a plan.

» This whole conversation was going to hell. Burai was going full-on whiny manchild, Nyumo was supporting his whiny manchildness, and Gaijin just had no idea what was going on. At least, Piper hoped he had no idea what was going on. If Gaijin attacking Saskia was due to him supporting Burai then this whole friends thing probably was not going to work.
"Gah! Men are just... so... stupid!" Piper shouted out, eye twitching in frustration. "Saskia tries to diffuse a situation YOU caused by being a whiny pissbaby who can't just accept it when he's wrong and move on, and SHE'S the coward in this situation? Bull crap!" Piper turned to Nyumo, pointing angrily down at her. "And you! When are you going to stop letting that guy manipulate you? You can do so much better than some knuckleheaded lunk who thinks his tragic backstory in an excuse to be a jerk to people on a whim!"
"Well you know what, Burai? If it's a fight you want, it's a fight you'll get. I'm pretty sick of you now and would be HAPPY to provide you that death you are so eager to see." Piper swung a haymaker at Burai, landing her fist square in the jaw; that one would leave a mark, for sure. Piper was feeling pretty pleased with herself before she noticed the sword planted in her gut. "Oh. Right. That's a thing."
Piper looked behind her, into the sky; it seemed that she had much such a ruckus the Royal Guard had decided to skip the whole "approaching the group" part of his job and just chuck his sword at her. One of the perks of being Level 120, Piper guessed. She groaned in exasperation as she began to dissipate into bubbles of anima.

Gaijin growled as he blow failed to crush his target's skull. In fact she failed to react to him at all. The giant prepared to attack again when the pink haired demon surrendered to him. Victory! He felt like vomiting because it was so sour. Saskia hadn't repented for her actions, she hadn't even bothered to defend herself. The woman was so full of herself that she could take what she wanted by force because nothing could stop her. She was submitting as a joke! Rage boiled through clenched teeth until he felt a tooth crack. His right fist pulled back to smash into the other Guardian's face when saw his sister. With a sword through her gut. Dying. The only sound left was his own blood thundering through his body. The only sight the one Royal Guard without a weapon. The one that killed his sister. The mammoth of a man let out a roar loud enough to shatter glass as he charged the dead guard. His spear flew ahead, not as an attack, but as a distraction. The real attack was Gaijin himself barreling at his enemy. He didn't know the strength of the Royal Guards, but it didn't matter. Gaijin was an unstoppable juggernaut. Guardian - Cavalier - Brewer ____________________________________________________
Everything seemed to be so annoying as the personalities began to collide. Betrayal and Hostility were the nefarious twins that were born on this street. Chaos and pandemonium would soon break out. It was only a moment of time. Saskia had a feeling that things were going to turn out bad. Real bad. The only thing that truly disturbed her was that one of her hot headed cadets were caught up in the mix. Burai played the belligerent antagonizer as his words could slice veins with every word he spat. His dark aura seemed to be contagious as Saskia could feel the vibes of Nyumo’s alignment shifting over time.
The man scoffed at how he had been foolish for sharing his woes with random strangers who could give a care less about his personal problems. The thought seemed to sicken him as he began to detest the company of the others. He couldn’t understand Saskia and Piper’s silence. It seemed that he wasn’t satisfied with the intent that they weren’t going to hold his hand and help him lick his wounds. Perhaps he expected more weak-minded individuals that wouldn’t see through what he was trying to do.
How pathetic it was that he was trying to play the victim, especially after disrespecting nearly everyone that was involved at some point or the other. The guy was a bad apple. No matter what you tried to do, he would rebel against it. It was just his nature. Maybe it was already too late for him. Some things just never change. Here he was trying to explain the concept of “Common Decency” despite the fact that he had been far less than decent himself. In retrospect, he had been downright insufferable and Saskia had to have been a very patient and graceful woman to not have sent the guy flying to the moon with an uppercut.
However, instead of an uppercut, he received a charmingly misguided wolf hair that latched unto his arms like a clingy and needy woman with low self-esteem. It was distasteful and despicable at Saskia’s light blue eyes squinted at the girl in disgust as she kissed her teeth and shook her head disappointingly. Her patience was starting to wear thin at the strands as the guy kept making some narcissistic dialogue that painted him in a better light than he was truly in. That pour lost soul. Saskia began to wonder why she even bothered intercepting the man that was going to unleash a blow at him had she not interfered. What a waste of her time and energy.
Now after being struck at by a man much larger than her, she was grateful for all her months of training. However, the annoying male still seemed to be vexing her with his taunts and belly-aching. She began to wish that the game had a mute button just like on the keyboard, but alas, there was no feature for that, so she had to stand idly by while he yapped.
Cocking an eyebrow up, Saskia watched as his trusty dusty sidekick confirmed her alignment and decided to take sides with the jerk. That was a real smooth move. She must not see a backstabber when she sees one. Some girls would just have to learn the hard way. That was the nature of this world for those with little street sense. She watched as the wolf hair gazed with penetraing gleams of sunburst gems, marking herself as a hostile threat.
Before Saskia could try to difuse the situation, the steaming mad Piper threw her two cents in the form of a punch to Burai’s face, after telling him what a sorry excuse for a man he was. She didn’t know what cut deeper, the words or the sword that was about to penetratedthe girls gut.
Saskia’s eyes quivered, but she knew there was still something she could do. So she clenched her fist and activated a skill that she quickly cast as soon as Piper through the punch.
The other Guardian that tried to strike her with another blow, might have caught a counterattack in that moment had he not changed the trajectory of his strike and sign his own death warrant by trying to attack an enemy that was 119 levels higher than himself, however, shifting aggro away from Piper.
Saskia felt terrible. One of her own people would have had to die, and for what? A petty argument that shouldn’t have even been taken this far. All of these hostile assholes were not making anything any simpler. They only added to the chaos.
Saskia’s heart pounded as she looked over the sight of Piper beginning to turn into anima bubbles, before she was slightly restored back to her normal form by the the golden goblet that appeared over her head from the [Holy Grail] Tier II Guardian skill. Her eyes erupted into golden volcanoes as she quickly whistle for her horse and leaped on top, before analyzing Piper’s location and throwing a level 45 [Smoke Grenade] that would severely hinder the sight of anyone in the area that was below that level. She could hoever, see through the fog, as she rode upon Icarus, and snatched Piper up, and flinging her over her legs, as she activated [Fold Step] and burst ahead in a violent whirlwind of speed, before cutting in an alleyway to avoid the royal guards, to make her daring escape.
Luckily, Gaijin was the hostile threat at the moment and perhaps by killing him, they would be bought more time. She also would have to worry about the other players as even the most agile players could hardly keep up with her mounts speed on foot. She just need to focus on getting out of town safely, before the incoming shitstorm would blow through.
"What the hell were you thinking...?" Saskia mumbled calmly. She wasn't at all surprise by what Piper had did. She honestly felt pretty good about it, despite the fact the girl almost kicked the bucket for her reckless behaivor.

To forget would be a blessing
Burai peeked behind himself for a moment, to glance back at Nyumo. She drew her blade and sat it on her shoulder; comparing him to Dick Dastardly. Burai sighed, and rolled his eyes. Of all the things to relate to she chose a cartoon show. He was more concerned about how could she be so stubborn. Everything would be easier if she just left him alone. She close to stick by him, as a true friend would. He would never willingly admit it, but he was thankful for her stubbornness, and her friendship. But, going up against Saskia, and her second rate, pupil isn't something he wanted Nyumo to do. Burai was only trying to protect Gaijin. This wasn't about him anymore. "Gaijin needs guidance," Burai shook his head slightly, "No, he needs a friend."
Burai thought about his friendship with Nyumo. His heart fluttered, as memories flooded his thoughts. His most precious treasures. "Am I willing to risk losing these, as well as my painful memories?" He began to see the selfishness in his own desire. It was no better than suicide. Even so, it's what he desired. He couldn't hide that, but losing memories of Nyumo were out of the question. He became to feel conflicted, about his own resolve. He bit his lower lip, and adjusted his eyes forward. "I'll focus on the task at hand, for now."
He rolled his neck from side to side. "Nyumo, don't you get hurt." Though she would undoubtedly get hurt sometime during the game. He exhorted her to be careful and vigilant. He turned his gaze over toward piper. He stood still, he waited patiently for the event to play out. He was confident Piper would fall for his taunt, falling into his trap. Even if she was a higher level than him. He looked down on her, there was no way she could be his equal in skill. He couldn't fathom the thought, nor would he ever accept such a ridiculous thought, or comparison. He would drown it all out right here. After this moment no one would be able to compare him to her. "I know it's wrong of me to look down on her. But, I refuse to stand on equal footing. She is my rival, and obstacle that stands in my way." That's all she was to Burai, nothing more or less. Her words were empty and hollow. He couldn't feel anything behind them.
As he predicted, Piper lashed out in anger. She even resorted to name calling. Burai chuckled. She needed to stop being such a hypocrite. She mentioned something about Saskia, trying to diffuse the situation. What was there to diffuse? Burai and Saskia had a disagreement, about his jokes toward Gaijin. Which, Burai had pointed out several times they were nothing more than jokes. And, he never intended to harm Gaijin, at all. And, why would he apologize for treating Gaijin, like a normal person? Saskia thought his jokes were harsh, and wanted him to apologize. But Burai refused, he didn't see anything wrong with his actions.
He shook his head at Piper, she was clearly delusional. And her statement toward Nyumo about his personally life annoyed him. It was clear Piper didn't care about his past, or his feelings. Her statements were a clear vindication of that. Burai didn't treat anyone poorly cause of his own personal life. He never bothered getting close to anyone. Her ignorance, is exactly why Burai didn't bother to make many friends in the first place. She Lunged forwarded and threw a Haymaker at Burai. "Bring it on! You hypocrite!" He activated both [Iron body] and [Iron Rhino Stance]. As her fist connected with his jaw. He grinned sadistically, "Got yo-" the force of the punch snapped his face to the side, and caused him to stagger back a step. He wouldn't allow himself to be floored by such a punch.
He lost feeling of his legs for a moment. His body felt like it was going to collapse, he endured through the pain. He wouldn't show piper how hurt, he was. He casually turned his head back in its original position and smiled at Piper. A sword pierced through her stomach. Burai erupted into laughter. "Serves you right." Burai couldn't believe she would like her emotions get the best of her. This victory tasted so sweet. It was satisfying to watch her die before him. But moment of victory was short lived, disrupted by Gaijin who was thrown into a frenzy after watching Piper die. Burai wanted to stop him, but he wasn't in the best condition to do so. But, Saskia interjected with a series of motions that ended with her mounting on her horse with Piper on her legs, fleeing.
Burai didn't blink, as he watched Saskia make her daring escape. He glanced at the Royal Guards. So that was it, right? He was disappointed, but at the same time he was rather happy. He didn't want to fight Saskia. Dying by her hands would've been fun. He was genuinely curious. Would she throw away her rules and morals. To give into her emotions as Piper did. Saskia chose another path, and retreated. He had no desire to pursue after her. There is absolutely nothing to be gained from it.
His thoughts rested on Gaijin. She would abandon this new player, and save Piper. Why not take him with her as well? He deactivated his abilities and sat down. "Gaijin.. Stop." Attacking the guards would only result in his death, and his death would be for nothing. Piper isn't worth dying for. But, Burai wouldn't say that to his newly acquainted friend. He wouldn't tarnish the giant's pride. Burai knew if something similar happened to Nyumo he would stop at nothing to seek revenge. He hoped his pathetic attempt to stop Gaijin, or at least hinder his advance. If it didn't Burai would have to find a way to get Nyumo out of this building without a scratch on her.
