THERE IS A THIN LINE between what is good and what is evil I will tiptoe down that line but I will feel unstable From the very moment she realized where she was in this world there was absolute glee. Such an escape was more than she could have ever dreamed of back in the real world. Now that she had it she was not going to take this chance for granted and fool around. Bei Fong wanted to live fully in this world, experience all it had to offer and dive to the deepest depths. This world would reveal it's secrets to her before it came to an end and she made that a promise to herself. However much like most other players her beginnings were quite humble for now. She was a level one player since she could not transfer her other characters from the american servers. It was a real drag but she wasn't going to complain as it gave her something to do. Bei Fong was the sort of player who spent most of their time leveling the classes in the game rather than seeing one class all the way through to high gear. She hoped to break that cycle this time however. That was why she was all the way out here by herself in the surrounding newbie zone in Avon. It was not "the" newbie zone like the Windsor Greatwoods but it had monsters low enough for her to fight but strong enough to possibly kill her. That was how she liked it, she craved the challenge more so than the easy experience. She thrived on it and it made her feel more alive than she had before she was part of a games system. " Now if only I could find something to actually fight." she muttered to herself aloud. Ever since she had entered the field it was as if everything was hiding from her and refused to come out. In hindsight she should have taken pathfinding but in the end she was not disappointed with her tracker subclasses potential. In the mean time while she hunted for a fight she decided to test her abilities on nearby scenery. The somersalt kick was one of her favorite animations along side the suplex. She was eager to try it out on the first thing she found, the suplex that is, but for now she would test out her somesalt kick. Targetting a nearby tree branch the monk ran forward, pushed off the ground and rolled into a flip mid air. Once her leg extended she heard the snap of a thin branch as her foot connected and then she landed on the ground. However the landing was a little less graceful since she activated the skill herself. Hitting the ground at an awkward angle the monk slipped and fell backwards onto her back. With a loud "oof" she ended up staring at the sky from her back while seeing stars from having the wind knocked out of her. " Mistakes.. were.. made.." she wheezed. Shuwen was a man on a mission. What was his mission you ask? It was to make tea. Shuwen himself was not particularly fond of tea, but he does know someone who is. And since the chef and brewer classes were partially merged, he was occasionally called upon to make various drinks by those who wished for them. A certain tea lover had come about with a desire for tea made from a specific kind of tree, one that was not easily found. He was also willing to pay a fair amount for it, so Shuwen decided not to turn down the request. I guess It’s something like an old-style quest. He thought to himself. Find a specific item and get a certain amount of money or some other reward for it. Fortunately, even though his main class level was notably lower then his chef skill (a rarity amongst a user base that seemed painfully adverse to crafting) he was fairly high leveled, more then enough to deal with the local fauna.
As the Monk was fairly over leveled for the area, most of the monsters he could find weren’t very difficult to defeat. The biggest annoyance a monster had given him thus far was when he’d been ambushed by an Angioserpent and stunned before he could start his counterattack. However, once the stun wore off and he regained his footing, the fight was over after his first low kick. It was too bad he hadn’t found what he was looking for, because he was beginning to get bored. Fortunately, he managed to find something interesting before his boredom got too bad. Another monk seemed to be practicing some of her main class skills on a nearby tree. She had long red hair and seemed to have gone for the “atheletic” look when making her avatar. Or maybe she really had been athletic in real life and it had carried over to her appearance in Elder Tale. One of the two. Regardless, she must have been awfully focused on practicing, because it didn’t seem like she’d noticed him, despite his approach. When he about three or four meters away, she tried to practice a somersault-like skill on the tree, but she screwed up the landing and ended up landing on her back. Had she not been an adventurer, that probably would have been serious, but as she was an adventurer in a world that wasn’t Earth, it probably wasn’t a big deal.
“I’m sure whatever the tree did, it’s very sorry for doing it.” Shuwen said, trying not to laugh at her mishap. Then, more seriously, continued “It’s usually best to try and get the landing down first, to keep yourself from getting banged up too much once you move on to learning the rest of the technique.” To tell the truth, he wasn’t entirely sure that applied to acrobatics; he was referring to his experiences in judo when he gave that advice; before a student could practice throwing people, they had to first know how to safely be thrown. It was very likely that a similar principle was involved with safely learning acrobatics, and even if it wasn’t, doing so probably wouldn’t hurt.

THERE IS A THIN LINE between what is good and what is evil I will tiptoe down that line but I will feel unstable This probably would have hurt more if she was still flesh and blood. She assumed that they were no longer made of the same composition as their old bodies, suspecting some kind of computer code. In fact her breath started to return to her almost as quickly as she had lost it proving to her that she was beyond what she could have hoped for in the real world. Staring up at the sky above her she smiled at the thought, she always wanted to be something more than just a random silly girl. That was when she heard the soft foot steps of someone approaching and then a voice. From the way he spoke and what he said she could tell that he was teasing her. Bei Fong was not mad however as she was quite amused by the problem herself. She didn't have enough confidence in her own movements and too much confidence that the system would auto correct her motion. She supposed it was not fully automated and was only there to help you if you did not activate your skills from the menu. " Don't worry, I won't be offended if you laugh. Pretty dumb situation to find yourself in." she said with a smirk. To be quite honest she was used to being in situations like this as she used to do it just to make her father mad. Here however she could have fun with her accidents at least, she didn't have to learn from every single failure. Taking a moment to stand herself back up, Bei Fong dusted herself off and looked the newcomer over for a moment. He was a monk just like she was- that much was obvious from the basic system info. She could not glean much else at a glance but she didn't much care for cheating anyway. If she wanted to know something she prefered to ask for it rather than rely on the interface for assistance. " What brings you all the way out here to this remote corner of the low level wilds?" she asked. He could have been low level himself but the way he gave tips and seemed to not be on the look out for mobs said otherwise. Bei Fong wasn't too worried about him being a PKer simply because she couldn't be perma killed. If anything they would kill her and get nothing except wasted effort for their troubles. Being a low level newbie was basically the perfect defense except when it came to the creatures spawned by the system. " You haven't seen any monsters around here by chance have you?" she asked, raising a brow. MADE BY VEL OF GS

Shuwen wasn’t exactly pleased with how she reacted. He wouldn’t have minded if she’d been offended by his prodding, as long as it didn’t blind her to what else he’d said. And the fact she didn’t even bother to respond to his advice was somewhat aggravating, as he’d considered that to be the more important then his initial, less serious statement. Well, most people tended to ignore his advice anyways, to the point that he was beginning to get used to it. Instead, she simply told him she simply didn’t mind him laughing at her predicament. Not sure how to respond, he simply let it pass.
Fortunately, she soon dropped the subject and instead asked what he was doing in an area he was over-leveled for. “I’m looking for an ingredient item.” He told her bluntly. “There’s this tea fanatic that’s willing to pay a fair amount for a specific kind of tea he hasn’t been able to get his hands on. It’s supposed to be around here somewhere.” He decided not to mention it was the tea itself he wanted, and that Shuwen had originally planned to simply make the tea. Having to go out and gather the ingredients was simply one part of that. He didn’t feel like making the explanation any more complicated then it needed to be.
With that question answered, she quickly asked another one, this time about the monsters he’d seen. While it was a more practical question then her previous one, Shu was beginning to take notice of it. She's kind of inquisitive, isn't she? “I’ve seen a few. Nothing I couldn’t handle though. The non-aggressive ones leave me alone due to the level difference.” There were a few that attacked any adventurer they came across, some would only do so if they believed they had an advantage, some did so regardless of the circumstances. It seemed their intelligence hadn’t evolved a great deal though since it was just a game.

Sometimes the only pay-off for having any faith Is when it's tested again and again everyday I'm still comparing your past to my future It might be your wound but they're my sutures Things were kind of uneasy for a moment or so she felt but then it passed. Perhaps it was the momentary silence where the guy said nothing that gave her the vibe but she chose not to acknowledge it aloud. Far more important things to do out here like hunt for some experience rather than getting into a fight with other adventurers. That was assuming she was not just misreading the feeling in that moment that was. Stretching herself out a bit she took a moment to look the guy over as he told his story. " Tea huh? Don't suppose that makes you a chef too?" she inquired. She was well aware she was asking a lot of questions but that was the only way to become informed. Plus it wasn't every day that you saw a monk dressed like Goku show up and give you tips on how to use your abilities. It was too bad that there wasn't a specific class with an ability to track special herbs and such- she was useless to him otherwise. Placing her hands behind her back she smiled at him brightly, though it rarely reflected her true emotion. " If you tell me what it looks like I can help you find it. That is, if you want the help, I know some people would rather go it alone in this game." she said with a giggle. She was one of those few people but occasionally she liked to have company and this was one of those moments. Especially when the stranger in question seemed alright with the idea of assisting her. " Perhaps in exchange you can show me a few things about the monk class. I am a newbie player when it comes to this class; my old character was an Assassin." she explained with her finger up. Most people did not trust assassin players however so perhaps it was not the best idea to make it known that she used to be one. Mulling it over in her head she realized that she had put her foot in her mouth as per usual. Her eyes lit up at the mention of monsters however- she had been looking with no success all day. " Amazing. I have been looking all day for something to fight and you have been simply passing them by. Just my luck." she said with a snap of her fingers. MADE BY VEL OF GS

Words: 454 When he brought up tea, the red haired monk, who according to the interface was named Bei Fong, quickly surmised that he was a chef. That was a tad odd, considering brewers were generally the default class capable of making drinks, but it was a fairly reasonable jump in logic. “Well, yes. I am a chef.” Shuwen wasn’t just a chef though, he was a leveled chef, which was significantly harder to find these days, due to most people not bothering to seriously level their subclasses. She asked about what he was looking for, offering to help him out in the process. “Um, the ingredient I’m looking for is a type of tree bark. It’s collected from, well, a tree.” Shuwen scratched the back of his head, apparently at a loss of how to explain it in better detain. “Don’t worry, I’ll probably be able to recognize it when I see it. It’s supposed to be very distinctive. I don’t mind the help if you want to come along, but most of the monsters we’ll be fighting are above your level, so there’s gonna be some risk involved, unfortunately.” Well, it probably wouldn’t be much worse for her then fighting alone, but she was still fairly underleveled for it. In exchange, Bei Fong wanted him to help her get used to playing as a monk, as she was unfamiliar with the class. No surprise there; as they had been required to make new characters to play on the new British server, a lot of people had decided to try out different character classes then what they usually used. Shuwen himself was among them. “Heh, yeah, I used to play as a Guardian. Monk suits me much better though.” He decided to leave the reasons why it suited him to her imagination; they probably weren’t hard to guess anyways. When the subject of monsters came up, she seemed surprised he’d been fighting at all; she apparently hadn’t run into a single monster since she entered the zone. That was a little surprising. It was, admittedly, possible to go through a field while avoiding the monsters therein, especially if it was an area frequently farmed by other adventurers, but to be actively looking for monsters and not finding a single one? That was a tad strange. Is she the type that has phenomenal bad luck or something?“Well, most of the monsters I’ve had to deal with were snakes; Angioserpents. You generally can’t see them or their status windows unless you’re fairly close to them, so you may have just gone past them without noticing.” Still, that wasn’t very plausible, considering they were predatory animals; one would jump at the chance to attack a level one adventurer.
