Those posts were made during the double AP period, thus can still be redeemed for double AP. Total Claim: Link to Previous Claim: log-horizon.proboards.com/thread/3542/kaytina-1Pre-Claim AP: Main Class: 46 AP Craft Subclass: 0 AP RP Subclass: 0 AP Post-Claim AP:Main Class: 73 AP Craft Subclass: 0 AP RP Subclass: 0 AP Final Levels:Main Class Level: 24 Craft Subclass Level: 1 RP Subclass Level: 1 Requested Skill(s): Ambidexterity: Tier I Adventurer Skill. The mechanics of Elder Tale lightly discourage dual-wielding due to the reduced accuracy and proficiency with such a combat style. However, it remains a quite popular strategy among those who willingly sacrifice stability and defense for a little boost in DPS. It is such that Swashbucklers are primarily the class type that specializes in dual-wielding and thus has the most compatible skills for this purpose. The Ambidexterity skill passively lifts the dual-wielding penalty from equipping two one-handed weapons or two shields. This skill does nothing for a Swashbuckler, since they already possess a beginner skill which does the same purpose. Covering: Tier I Adventurer Skill: Despite a Warrior class's bulky appearance, their agility in the midst of battle can sometimes be very surprising. When an ally is about to be targeted by an attack, this skill allows the character to switch places with the target and take the force of the attack. It can also be activated in response to an area of effect attack, taking all the damage from affected party members onto oneself. Obviously, as good as the character's reflexes may be, this requires that the ally be in very close proximity. This skill has a maximum range of 3 meters, an animation time of 1 second, and a cooldown of 15 seconds. If used by a character other than a Warrior-based class or Warden, the cooldown is doubled to 30 seconds.

I have also updated my profile, for convenience. I have an updated template, replaced the old physician's skill with the new one, and added the two new skills I have unlocked from this AP claim. Quote this post to get the code. [attr="class","ws"] [attr="class","h"]Kaytina [attr="class","fc"] [attr="class","bi"]REAL NAME: Makayla Tala Shiochi Manalastas [attr="class","bi2"]REAL GENDER: Female [attr="class","bi2"]IN-GAME GENDER: Female [attr="class","bi2"]AGE: 17 [attr="class","bi2"]SEXUALITY: Heterosexual [attr="class","bi2"] FACE-CLAIM: Zinnia Silane (OC of Kauto) [attr="class","bi2"]PLAYED BY: Lila [attr="class","bi2"]FACTION: Adventurer [attr="class","h2"]Appearance [attr="class","b"] Makayla Tala's in-game appearance doesn't differ much at all from her appearance in real life, aside from the thicker hair provided by the Wolf Hair racial traits. She is of southeast Asian decent with blue eyes that reflect the color of a clear sky, dark brown hair that's just one or two shades away from being pure black cut just before touching her shoulders, and a light brown complexion giving her the appearance of being perfectly tanned year-round. She's a very average height and weight of 5'4" and 8 stone 13 pounds. She is lithe and she isn't as well endowed as other girls her age. Her figure gives her the appearance of being taller than she really is. She has an English accent. She dresses fairly averagely. Her out and about wardrobe typically contains jeans, tank tops, and hoodies. Very rarely will she wear anything like a skirt or frilly tops. She does like to wear hair clips and bands on occasion. That's in real life, though. In game, she wears a heavy pair of olive pants with several pockets, leather belt, and a black tank top that is tucked under her pants. She's turned from inner city tomboy to wannabe survivalist, essentially. [attr="class","h3"]Personality [attr="class","b"] Probably her most easily noticeable trait is her cynicism and callous demeanor. It's really just the result of growing up in a predominantly white area in England and her being the target of overzealous young boys in school. She learned to just despise everyone immediately because they always want something from her. It developed into a very quick temper with violent outbursts, which eventually labeled her as undateable. This carries over into the game, of course. So she prefers to solo. Her aversion to working with others also makes her irresponsible with fights. She doesn't recognize when it is best to travel a dungeon with a party or if she can solo it, so she ends up dying on occasion. She also likes to dart into rooms Leroy Jenkins style in an attempt to look the monsters before her party mates can even see the loot drops. She's a hoarder and loves to collect knifes, daggers, and swords even if she can't use them properly, it's something that she did in real life as well.
Aside from her obvious flaws, she does come with some saving graces. Honest to a fault, she will tell you what is on her mind even if you don't really want to hear it. But she is trustworthy in that she would dive, head first, into an enemy to save an ally she's gained. She's reliable to those who have managed to get on her good side. She's able to adapt to changing conditions on the field on a whim without a tactician, but she doesn't have the foresight of a true tactician.
She's a bit of a neat-freak, but not so much as to pick the housekeeper subclass. She like running and exploring. She also likes to hunt.
Her greatest weakness, though, is tight spaces. She claustrophobic to a fault and breaks down if she is caught up in a tight space, feeling trapped and unable to escape.
[attr="class","h3"]History [attr="class","b"] Makayla's father, mother, and older brother emigrated from the Philippines before she was born. She was given two first names, just like her parents and brother, including a middle and her surname. Makayla Tala Shiochi Manalastas. She grew up in a wealthy household, but with strict parents. She gained a rebellious attitude because of her mother constantly trying to force her to do things "like a proper lady." Her mother just married into wealth and was trying to force that third world belief system onto her. At some point, her mother just gave up after Makayla started to collect pocket knives. She went to a private girl's primary school and switched to a public secondary school when her family fell on hard times. Suddenly being a young brown girl tossed into a public school of developing young boys made her the target of their attraction because she was different and the target of girl's jealousy because of that. She became very hostile in that time to just fit in. It left a lasting impression for her personality and she has very few friends because of this. Overall, a problem child who would have difficulty in the real world after school because her grades were below average.
Then one of her few friends mentioned a computer game that she was planning to play and wanted Makayla to join her. Her brother had left his computer for her when he moved out, but she really wasn't too interested in video games. She was more interested in the weapons they had in the game, though. So she did a bit of research of the unique weapons this game was supposed to have, got a copy of the game, then signed on. Try something new.

Toggle Skill. A toggle-activated monk ability that grants the monk a gradual increase in damage and attack speed for every opponent they defeat. This skill utilizes a combo system, where after about a minute if the user had not gotten another kill, the effect is canceled. [attr="class","skill"]Equipment Mastery: Swords: Tier I Adventurer Skill. Passive. An Adventurer skill that provides weapon proficiency of both one-handed and two-handed swords. Normally, classes that are incompatible with certain types of weapons suffer damage and accuracy penalties when using the weapon in question. Possession of an equipment mastery skill negates this penalty for that specified weapon type. Generally, there are reasons behind why certain classes focus on certain weapon types. Taking this skill provides some level of versatility, but be warned that some of your main class skills might prove incompatible with this new fighting style. This skill does nothing if the character's class is already able to use both types of swords normally. [attr="class","skill"]Iron Body: Tier I Monk Skill. Toggle skill. The monk flexes their body, causing their skin to transform into an iron-like color for the duration of the skill. It provides additional offensive and defensive power at the slight cost of agility. As long as it is maintained, the monk's MP is gradually reduced. [attr="class","skill"]Rafting Taunt: Tier I Monk Skill. The user poses aggressively and baits enemies' attention. For a few seconds, all enemies within the surrounding area can only select the monk as a combat target. This is often used as a means of managing consistent aggro control. This skill has an animation time of 2 seconds and a cooldown of 10 seconds. [attr="class","skill"]Aura Kick: Tier I Monk Skill. The user jumps into the air and deals a powerful kick at the ground, creating a shockwave that damages nearby enemies and draws aggro. This skill has an animation time of 2 seconds and a cooldown of 10 seconds. [attr="class","skill"]Aura Saber: Tier I Adventurer Skill. Swings the weapon around the user's body in a faint aura, then crashes it down upon the enemy. Multiple enemies can be struck by this attack by they are adjacent to the target. This skill increases targets' aggro on the user more than that of a regular attack. If this skill is used by Monks, the user will deliver an aura-enhanced swinging punch that delivers the same effects. This skill has an animation time of 2 seconds and a cooldown of 5 seconds. [attr="class","skill"]Crash Shot: Tier I Adventurer Skill. A bow or firearms skill where the user aims slightly upward and then releases the string or fires the trigger. As the projectile descends downward, it explodes into multiple small fragments which somehow retain all the force of the original shot, making this burst of tiny shrapnel deceptively powerful. It will damage all possible targets within a 5 meter radius, so be sure your allies are out of the way before you strike. This skill has an animation time of 2.5 seconds and a cooldown of 10 seconds. [attr="class","skill"]Quick Swap: Tier I Adventurer Skill. A skill that facilitates the quick switching of equipment from the user's equipment to their inventory. While many characters use quick slots in order to swap out their weapons, this requires a manual action. The use of Quick Swap does this exchange automatically. This switching can only be done with two equipment sets at a time, both of which are registered prior to the start of battle. When Quick Swap is used, the current equipment set will be swapped out to the other set designated by the skill. Due to the nature of this skill, it is best used by characters of the Weapon Specialist classes. This skill has an animation time of 1 second. Its cooldown if used by a Weapon Specialist class is 30 seconds which increases to 60 seconds if used by any other class. [attr="class","skill"]Ambidexterity: Tier I Adventurer Skill. The mechanics of Elder Tale lightly discourage dual-wielding due to the reduced accuracy and proficiency with such a combat style. However, it remains a quite popular strategy among those who willingly sacrifice stability and defense for a little boost in DPS. [attr="class","h4_sub"]Crafting Class Skills [attr="class","b_sub"] [attr="class","skill"]Toxicity Tolerance: Level 1 Pharmacist Skill. Pharmacists have developed a certain resistance around drugs. This skill can be toggled to make a pharmacist immune to status debuffs caused by potions. Additionally, they passively recover twice as fast from poison status effects. [attr="class","h4_sub"]Roleplay Class Skills [attr="class","b_sub"] [attr="class","skill"]Marksmanship: Level 1 Hunter Skill. Passive skill. The Hunter's bow damage passively increases by 10% to all monsters and an additional 10% to beast-type monsters. Additionally, if the Hunter's main class would normally penalize them from using bows, this skill allows them to use bows without penalty. [attr="class","h3"]Equipment [attr="class","b"] [attr="class","equip"]Armor: Starter Cloth Armor: A basic set of cloth armor made from cheap fabric. They are not really protective, but they are better than going naked—probably. You probably do want to replace these asap, when you think about it. [attr="class","equip"]Left Hand: Lady's Dice -- Level 1 -- A pair of double-edged knives which belong to the karambit family. As characterized by the family of knives, the blades are short, barely reaching four inches long at their longest point. The knives are also curved much like that of a talon, increasing their slicing capabilities. Because of the way they are made, the knives are extremely sharp. With just a slight amount of pressure, the sharpened edges are able to split skin. The blades have been tempered to be a black color, matching the color of the hilt. Said hilt is slender in its shape and has a soft webbing of cloth over it as to protect the user during elongated use. This webbing has been mended so that it fits the shape of the user's hand when pressure is applied. At the base of the knives, the hilts expanded into medium-sized circles. These circles are just big enough for the user to insert their thumb should they wish to hold the blade in a more fancy way. Underneath the cloth which covered the hilt is the engraving of the Funeral Parlor emblem.

It doesn't have much of a blade, but possesses a passably sharp point. This weapon is attached to about 10 feet worth of rope, allowing it to work as a temporary ranged weapon if necessary. Just be careful not to lose it in the process, else you'll have to spend some time retrieving it. As far as weapon categories go, this starter weapon counts as a one-handed dagger rather than a throwing weapon. [attr="class","equip"]Windsor Antiqua Long Bow (Lv5): A weapon or armor of the Windsor Antiqua brand, a type of mass-produced equipment produced by the People of the Land. While convenient, they are a little more expensive than if you were to craft your own equips. |
