He could remember hitting start, he could even remember making the character... he could not remember actually getting out of his room. Fact was that he woke up on a roof of a building overgrown with weeds and the area around him seemed the same. It was in and of itself a rather disturbing thing. To be outside when he could have sworn he was sitting down to play a new MMO... well not knew it was an older game they had only just released the expansion and server for his home area.
His eyes shifted around as he took in the area, parts of it seemed familiar... and yet it was all different enough to make him question where he was or what he might be doing. The world around him looked normal, he could feel the wind brushing across his face, ruffling hair that was oddly red rather than his normal brown... that worried him... why was his hair red... and for that matter when had he lost as much weight as he seemed to have done.
All in all the entire situation left him confused as to what was happening, he was not able to see anyone from his location and had he seen other people what would he do or say. Would some other person understand what was happening... and for that matter why were even his glasses missing. It was only upon further study of himself that he noticed something... the pair of swords across his back stood out to him and more than that he was wearing what looked like cheap armor of some kind...
Logic told him he was no longer home... that somehow he had been taken from home and the question was left... where was he? More than this how and why was he here? It was rather odd that he saw a person below and that was when he noticed the thing above their head.. floating just out of reach and more than that things seemed to appear in his own vision.
Was this what he thought was going on... had he been plucked from his chair and placed into the game in and of itself. It made no real logical sense after all how was it possible for him to even be in a game. Thinking it over it might be the only real reason for him to actually not be at home or why he had a health bar in one corner of his vision. Taking stock of his position he moved towards the edge of the building and tried to fall from the roof, he did fall though apparently this body knew how to land as instead of falling on his face he managed to land almost cat like on his feet...Word Count: 465

Fact One, he was more agile than he had ever been before he arrive here... Before he entered this place escaping a roof would have lead to him slipping and falling on his face... he would never have been able to land as lightly as he just had, let alone do so and almost draw one of the sword on his back in the same movement. Fact Two he had an HUD, and he never owned and Oculus Rift nor had he heard of a game that allowed a person direct mental control over an avatar... and yet here he was in a body that was not his own. Finally and more importantly he had never seen the swords he wore in his life nor had he ever seen armor anything like what he was wearing... and their was the hair thing... he did not have red hair and it was not as long as it was at the moment. From that basic information he determined that he was not at home, this was enough to tell him a little something more though... That meant that this very well could in fact be Elder Tale... only somehow he was in the game rather than outside of it. He knew he had an HUD, but what about accessing the system files... could he open any other interfaces at all... He stood fully at this point and tried, his fingers brushing as if seeking something more in the world as he thought to open the interface and see what all he could do... That was when it popped open and he was given a view into an inventory screen, relatively empty, a hammer for smithing... made sense honestly. A little gold to start the game with though it really was not that much, and then his weapons and armor... if one might call them that. He took the moment to pull open he skills at this point making a note of what they were and then pulling them over to a skill list in his HUD... to one side that meant he had them visible... Curiosity over took him and he selected High jump... and he launched himself into the air... It was ridiculous how high he got was it double his own height or triple he did not remember only that he had not really expected it to happen and as such instead of sticking the landing like before... he landed in a puddle of water flat on his face... or at least he hoped it was water. Pulling himself he walked thought aloud his words ones of contemplation as he talked to himself... not like he had ran into anyone else. “If I am living a game, would it make sense to rely on a skill set linked to a button... No” He mulled it over for a moment and then decided to try something else... Maybe it would work and perhaps it would not... only practice would let him know... He took a step and then two as he tried to pick of speed. He counted off each step and once he hit ten he focused and put his will to what he wanted as he spoke the words... “High Jump” As he pushed off with his legs he felt his body lift into the air forward momentum carrying him forward even as he reached his maximum height and he began to fall... Instead of face planting he hit the ground, letting his body collapse into a roll as he came back to his feet and continued to run... That was fun... he decided rather quickly... and easy for that matter. This feat brought with it another question as he continued forward he noticed a ledge on a building and curiosity made him jump again this time he landed on the ledge but upon landing he used it as a springboard to push himself up above the second floor and onto a roof opposite from the point he had jumped to first... “Definitely awesome...” He declared mostly to himself as he continued his run. Each step he made moved him closer to the edge of the city and he kept jumping his plan not to hit the ground, instead he jumped from building to building, using ledges and balconies to help him remain above ground, all he needed was something to put his feet against and the right timing and he could manage to move from building to building from above. Most interesting to him was that his body didn't really feel tired from the exertion... he should have, he should have been doubled over and started panting at this point and he had not. A single final leap carried him to a wall like structure around the ruins that he seemed to have found himself... yes their were people below him... and yes they all seemed to be trying to figure things out... but he had no interest in them... and what would he say if he did as he stared out at the world beyond wondering if combat might be like running and jumping... would he be able to think the movement and do it with the guidance of whatever helped him to move as he was... or would he be on his own entirely outside of the walls of this place... As it stood, he had discovered how to jump... or more precisely he had discovered how to use his acrobatic skill to a somewhat beneficial degree. He had not gone into battle but that was besides the point as he considered what to do from his place upon a wall. He could look out from the city ruins and saw the world stretched out before him. He noticed a forest nearby and for a moment he thought of just jumping around the city some more... flailing around like some child without a purpose as he figured things out... he knew that more than likely the things around the city would be weak... at the same level as he himself was... or at least that was how it was in most MMORPG's. He had no real experience in this game so it was hard to say what he would find if he took that first step from the wall. He knew though that he would need better gear and supplies with time to avoiding what was on the outside of the wall would not be smart. No this was something that would have to be done to figure out the how, after all he was a player in the long term... not that he knew how or if he could return home he jumped from the wall. His body twisting in the air before he eventually hit the earth in a tumble. He did rather enjoy the act of jumping and the movements that he could make as he leaped around. His fist target, he decided was the forest as he ran to the edge with an easy stride... reaching it he moved more slowly, taking to the branches as he seemed to hop through the forest looking for something. Eventually he paused, a small clearing ahead let him see a gathering of what looked like a group of Boar, a pair of them were rather large and from his point of view rather intimidating. A hand motion let he see their levels, the larger pair were both level 6, the smaller 4 were of level 1... He was tempted to try his hand at it but logic told him that it would be to much for himself to handle. So he moved on and soon found a small group of slimes... I suitably generic MMO creature he decided... these ones seemed to be level one from what he could see and he doubted they wold have much in the way of HP. Carefully he drew the pair of Katana from his back, the metal scraping across the scabbard as it came out announcing that something was in the area. This noise did not seem to bother the slimes that seemed to be moving the other direction... For a moment he waited taking a breath as he prepared himself to try his hand at combat for the first time... He jumped his body launching from the tree towards his target a dull green slime. He did not wait as he hit the ground he triggered a skill his attention focusing on speed in that moment as he focused and mouthed the word Fold Step. This action had him launch forward more like a bullet than anything... he closed the distance almost instantly as the blade in his right hand shifted to slash at his opponent. Viper Raise, triggered with the slash, cutting into the creature even as he slashed with his other sword to boost damage. By this point the surprise was gone and the trio of Slimes now faced him... He was quicker though as he jumped back for a moment before he triggered another skill on the first target Mirage Dealer. His blades shifted in a slash that in essence created an X visually in the air, this was done even as he seemed to vanish and reappear a few meters past the opponent. Fatefully one of the other slimes had gotten to him and he could feel his life shrinking under its assault on him... a quick slash at this one and a leap back and up carried him back out of range. Jumping back and up offered him a vantage point, it also gave him some distance from the slimes that he had been fighting. He knew that the skills he had used had cool downs... he knew this from playing other games he had not expected them to exist here as well. This was real life but logically it only made sense after all he had an inventory and status screen as well. He took the moment to take stock, the slime he had jumped into had caused some damage though it was only minor and he was able to brush that off to some degree. He had in the course of the opening moments damaged 2 of them, one of the two had taken the brunt of the special techniques he had... The one was also taking DOT due to Viper Raises effect of bleed damage. Long term a would be a bad thing logically though if he used his skills intelligently and in a manner that was not a sustained battle he could manage to pull this off... He moved back in with a leap to plunge back down onto the first slime imbedding his twin blades in the top of the creature before pulling them out. It seemed to be enough, and the first slime broke to pieces as he turned to look at the other pair coming at him from opposing sides. The one already damaged made more sense to go after. It after all had already taken some damage. He had noticed something else as well though, the untouched one seemed to be a little faster and based on what he could determine by his status in his internal HUD, it was of a higher level, a level 3 if it was correct... so it made more sense to be able to focus on that specific one. Plan in mind he jumped once more, going over his target while hoping to slash at it on his way over he missed... falling badly he stumbled and fell rather than making it into a roll. He took perhaps a bigger hit from falling than he had in getting attacked by the jello blob though he was not worried about the fall but rather that he apparently had misjudged his timing for the jump and the distance as his target had reached him and had commenced trying to consume him... It was a disturbing though, and not to mention feeling to have a blob roll over your leg and for him to start feeling his health slip away tick by tick. Swinging his blade in a horizontal he connected with the creature but it was not enough damage to actually kill it and this worried him as he tried to get up only to find it had him locked in place on the ground. “Think Francis... Think,” He muttered to himself as he kept flailing at the thing in the hopes to kill it before it finished off his leg... He really did not want to lose a leg to a freaking slime, especially not for tripping over himself on accident. It was then that he realized that his skills were off cool-down as he once again triggered his viper raise as he hoped that he would not cut off his own foot as he swiped at the creature. His blade cut through it to cause some damage but was he loosing to much to it when he was not causing enough to it... that was a very worrying thought... It did dislodge the thing allowing him to force himself up and to stand... though it seemed now he was trapped between a tree and a pair of Slimy slime monsters with the consistency of jello. Mirage Dealer was his next choice, not only did it take out the second slime but it moved him bast that slime allowing him to put some distance between himself and the level 3 slime that he had not even for a moment touched. This was harder than he thought it would be... and he had already taken damage enough to cut him in half. He felt he had two options... the first was to run but who was to say if the final slime would just ignore him. Could he beat a third slime in his current state he wondered as he settled back into a ready stance. One foot in front of the other as one katana crossed the front of his body horizontally between himself and the slime. The second he held almost in the opposite direction of the first, it was facing the direction he was as if to spear whatever he was about to face. He moved in, not willing to simply walk away... he was here to get stronger and perhaps even get some new stuff or extra money. So it was that he lunged the first sword running along the creatures flesh to cause a slight cut on one side even as he continued to move slipping to the right as he turned to let his other weapon cut into the creature. It was then that the things flesh seemed to shift and it hit him, it caught him against the chest with a blob of what he did not know only that it hit him hard enough to push him back to a tree. He was sure he was seeing stars from the force of the hit even as he tried to focus on the thing that had knocked him back as far as it had. He saw his health bar in the red even as he decided that it was not smart to continue... only to realize that things were worse... the tree he had hit was not in fact a tree... no it was a big bloody boar of which the young swashbuckler had landed on... Said boar did not seem very happy either as the kid began to run... thank the stars for being a swashbuckler he decided as he tried to stay ahead of the angry boar that he was sure was in the wrong place. Glancing back he saw it getting closer... so between one step and the next the swordsman sheathed his swords... the boar was at least a level 6 perhaps higher it had tusks like the other one he had seen after all. Using Fold Step he managed to build some small bit of a gap but he felt that it would not be enough... Word Count: 1089

Pittered Boar, minimum level 6... It was pissed at him from getting tackled and it was chasing him. Its physical strength was enough apparently to make trees move out of the way in its headlong charge at the object of its ire... the player running frantically to avoid the goring tusks and formulate a plan at the same time. The boar was at least level 6 and he himself was a level 1... In a strait fight he would lose... but Swashbucklers were both fast and able to pull of tricks. More than this was the simple fact that he was also an acrobat. Those to fact should offer him some ability to avoid damage while also hurting the boar... “Right... I can do this” He whispered to himself as he jumped, one moment he was running and the next he was in the air twisting as he turned to push off the tree in another jump... This jump was not vertical though... no he used the tree as something to push off against allowing him to jump at the boar... to jump past it using the speed that a Swashbuckler was known for. One second he was getting chased in the next his blade was cutting through the air as he struck at the boar with the viper raise technique... He felt the blade cut into it as he swung past it rolling before returning to his feet to launch himself back up into a tree. The technique did not do tons of damage at once... but more importantly it caused damage over time... and It slowed he creature down as well... With that in mind he prepared for the fight, his skills were useful Viper raise arguably more so. Fold step would give him speed boosts to move past the boar and Mirage X would hit the creature with both weapons and let him move past him. It meant that he was fast and mobile at the same time. He also was not limited in terms of directions he could go up. Sure his health would slowly return but he had to do this without taking damage one hit could kill him and though he heard adventurers would not die he was not about to test a theory. The boar was rushing the tree, it seemed it knew where he was... luckily it was unable to stop as he dropped from the tree behind the boar each sword slashing at its hind quarters before launching back and towards the side to avoid not only its rotation but also the tusks that were turning towards him. Had Celbrimbor been smart he would have fled... perhaps he would have used Call of Home to return to the city... but he did not know the skill existed and more than that he was a little worried about being demolished by something that should be breakfast. It came at him again this time he crossed his blades in the Mirage X form to attack with the skill leading to him again appearing behind his opponent turning and triggering Viper Raise as its cool down ended. He understood that this was a dance at this point that the battle was going to win based on intelligence and not brute force. He had to maintain control of what was happening control the environment and location as it continued like that. He never slowed constantly moving and jumping even as the pig tried to pin him down or trap him in a corner... It was luck perhaps or skill he was not sure which that lead to the Boar eventual death, impaled on a butter knife of a sword as the elf collapsed and simply breathed for a moment... his health was nearly gone and he felt mentally and physically worn out by the ordeal. On the one hand he proved to himself that the system was more fluid than it would have been on the computer. The combat was real it felt real and looked real and his body felt like it had been pulverized. His muscles felt sore and worn and whether the feeling was real of fake it hardly mattered in the long term. After all he lived the creature had died and hopefully he would get something out of it in the end... Word Count: 723

| STATUS: None |
Kaika's head was a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions as she wandered the streets, not really paying much attention to where she was going. 'This... this is definitely Elder Tale.' She looked down at Kaika's... no... her hands in amazement. Unlike her hands in real life, these hands were small, but rough and calloused. She touched her own face incredulously, running her fingers over the new contours, back to her ears, and then up to her startlingly red hair. It was coarser than she had expected it to be. 'Well, I guess they don't really have conditioner here...' She glanced down, her view of her feet mostly obscured by her chest. A surge of joy welled up inside her, and she had to fight down the urge to grab them in public. 'If this is a dream, I hope I never wake up! Let's see... the last thing I remember... I came home from work, ate some pizza, logged on to Elder Tale to see the new patch... The new patch? Is that what this is? I'd better log out and look it up.' Kaika paused, then looked back and forth. 'Uh... hmm. Where is the men...u? ' Out of nowhere, a hovering menu appeared in front of her. 'Woah.' She panned through the options, then poked at the "Logout" button. There was a small error sound, accompanied by a little "invalid" icon. Doubts beginning to rise, she quickly looked around and spotted an NPC. "Excuse me! I-" Kaika gasped and covered her mouth. 'My voice hasn't changed? ' She started to panic, and hurried away from the small crowd of people nearby. 'I finally have the right body, but anyone who hears me will know I.... will think I...' Tears began to well up in her eyes, and she broke into a run, desperate to get away.
'What's happening to me? Is this some kind of joke? Am I stuck like this forever? ' Kaika's thoughts spiraled downward as she ran, tears streaming down her face. She had been so close, only to fall short. If there was a god, she imagined him sitting on his throne, looking down, and laughing at her misery. And then, her face hit the dirt. Kaika coughed and sputtered, picking herself up slowly and brushing the dirt off her scraped knees and palms, and glancing down at the protruding root she had tripped over. Around her were the sounds of cicadas, and the occasional chirp of birds. Sunlight filtered in through the canopy of leaves overhead. Aside from the worn dirt path beneath her feet, there was nothing but trees and bushes in every direction, and none of it looked familiar. '...a forest? ' Kaika took a cautious step forward, and winced at the sudden pain in her ankle. 'Sure doesn't feel like a dream... or a game.' A rustling sound from the bushes broke her train of thought, and she turned to face it, bracing herself with her fists raised. "Who's there?" Kaika grimaced at the sound of her own voice.
A large boar emerged from the brush. Its hair was matted, and its eyes gleamed with hostility. A small display appeared over its head: "Pittered Boar, Lvl. 10 / Normal". Kaika gritted her teeth, opening up the combat menu as the boar charged. She did her best to dodge to the side, poking at the air where her Somersault Kick skill was displayed. The movement messed with her menu though, and she missed the button completely, stumbling forward but managing to keep her balance. She whirled around to face her opponent, and tapped the Parry skill. Her body moved on its own, slipping to one side and shoving the boar's head, its tusk just grazing her arm. 'I can do this! ' She turned again to face the boar, once again tapping the Parry skill... and a small message about cooldowns appeared. 'Crap.' The boar struck her directly in the stomach, and she screamed as its tusks tore through her cloth armor, leaving long red gashes. She coughed and struggled to her feet, steadying herself and reaching for the Somersault Kick button. 'Yes! ' She felt her body begin to move, as she rolled forward and struck the boar, kicking hard and launching herself backward with the force. Her menu blurred, and she slipped on the loose dirt as she tried to press another button. The boar was charging again, looking even angrier than before. Kaika frantically jabbed towards the Parry button, but she was too slow. Another direct hit from the boar sent her sprawling back. Her vision beginning to blur, she glanced up to see a health bar with her name above it, and a small, blinking sliver of red. Fight turned to flight, and she scrambled to her feet and ran, desperate to avoid dying alone. The crashing leaves stayed close behind her, but she kept running, her ankle and ribs protesting with every movement. Up ahead on the path, she saw a ragged-looking Elf standing near a fallen boar like the one chasing her. "Run for your life!" She yelled as she barreled past, the boar in hot pursuit.

Silence... it really was an amazing thing. He had won it had lost and he felt like a grandchampion of some competition. He stared at his health gauge feeling it slowly rise and with it went some of the pain even if he felt that some of the damage to his armor was beyond repair. He felt that perhaps not hunting for the time being was a good thing after all what he had done was relatively stupid... though he guessed it could have been worse. He grumbled to himself as a woman, with fiery red hair bolted past him... he heard her as she went... "Run for your life!" His turn caused him to stare the Boar in the face... and he was up and in a tree before it could touch him... A moment told him that she was still level one and he was... probably from his stupid duel not moments before now up a level or two. A glance at his Health gauge told him he was still low but he was better off than the girl and he could draw agro for a moment to give her a breather. With the boar already past him he would have a chance to hit it hard at least once before he would have to bolt... So he did... he dropped and ran... using Fold Step he caught up with the Boar and as he was sweeping past he cut into it... ”Viper Raise” He stated as he swept past... He continued running his speed enhanced due to being a Swashbuckler letting him catch up to the girl easier... “Combat works better ignoring the buttons focus on the effect you want and the spell and then do it... the world does the rest... So if you want to jump... just do it...” He stated as he passed the girl, turning his forward momentum into a jump in order to land on a branch before leaping up and back... he was unsure of the timing or the aim but he hoped to land behind the boar and hit it a few times before bailing just like last time... hit and run was likely the way to go after all... Kaika felt a tinge of guilt for leaving the Elf behind like that, but she had bigger, sharper problems to deal with. 'Why the hell is this interface so hard to use? It's like trying to hit a fly while I'm in combat! Who approved this for production?! What kind of crappy coding... uh... what? ' Kaika glanced to the side to see the Elf, who seemed to be easily keeping pace with her somehow.
"Combat works better ignoring the buttons! Focus on the effect you want and the spell and then do it... the world does the rest... So if you want to jump... just do it..."
Kaika's thoughts paused for a moment. 'Gosh, he's fast! Like, really fast! Ohcrap, was I saying all that out loud? Did he notice my voice? How did he know I was having trouble with the interface? Aww man...' She couldn't see the boar behind her, but the crashing of brush made it clear that the beast was still in pursuit. The Elf seemed to have vanished, though, almost as quickly as he had appeared. 'Great, I guess I'm on my own.' Kaika gritted her teeth. 'Okay, here goes nothing... jump! ' Kaika leapt into the air, much higher than she had been expecting to, and crashed full force into a tree branch, the blow to her already injured stomach knocking the wind out of her lungs. Drawing up the last of her willpower, she scrambled for footing and managed to stay perched in the tree. As the boar rumbled closer, she prayed it couldn't jump, and fumbled through the menu for her throwing needles. She wasn't much good with them yet, but at least they allowed her to do something without having to face the charging beast head-on. She waited, panting, until she spotted the boar's back moving through the brush, and threw a needle as hard as she could muster...

Was he gone... not at all, he was in the air his body moving with little thought to its path as he twisted and rotated his body to not only correctly orient himself upon landing but to ensure that he was facing where he wanted to be facing. He figured that by the time he landed he would be out of cool down and that the swine would not be facing him. Then he landed, his feet sticking the landing as he saw the rear of the boar. It seemed to squeal as something struck it across the back side, needles of some kind or another based upon what he saw. It would draw attention from himself for a moment as he moved forward preparing his blades for contact. Viper Raise his first strike hit the creature on the hind legs, this would help to lower speed and give a small Damage over time effect. He continued the motion started with the attack as he allowed the second sword to cut across its back side before he jumped back to avoid any retaliatory strikes it might have for him. He had to be careful because this thing was not going to go down easy... he only hoped that the monk understood why he was fighting the way he was. The pair of swordstrokes caused a change in Agro on the beast as it turned to charge at the swordsman. He was patient as he waited for it to charge at him. He watched the distance and it was at the last moment that he crossed his swords triggering Mirage X This not only did damage but it carried him past the creature and as he himself had been packed against a tree the boar itself ran straight into a tree... All in all he used a functional combo and he felt like the creatures health had barely moved from the damage at all... Now it was a matter of avoiding it until he had his skills back once he did then he could chain the creature again but he was waiting for the monk to run his own combo... One might be able to hope at least...

"Shackles of the Sentenced."
The words rang out of his mouth rather naturally as he lifted his arm towards the boar, his tattered black cloak draped around him. Noctis smiled, the corner stitchings on his mouth making it seem more sinister than he had probably wanted. Strange enough, he actually enjoyed this. He'd been sitting in a corner depressed for so long that it felt good to vent some of his frustrations on the creature. He assumed his stance, focusing on the hate he had been feeling for so long, letting it channel the miasma around him into a small spherical form at the edge of his outstretched hand.
"You have about 5 seconds before those chains break," He called to the two people before him, A purpose to his voice as he tried to speak over the channeling miasma. "At about the same time I'm gonna let it have it with this so try to think of something quick!"
The chains began to shatter, reaching the end of their usefulness. A smirk crept its way over Noctis' patchwork, runed face as the end of the five seconds neared.
"Bang."

Her needle struck true, and the boar squealed. 'Yes! I'm not out of the fight yet! It's gonna take more than some stupid boar to bring this girl down! ' As if by magic, the Elf reappeared, striking the boar along its side. The beast's anger quickly shifted to him, and it began chasing him instead, but the Elf proved too fast and dodged out of the way. The boar ran face-first into a tree with a satisfying thud. Kaika hurled another throwing needle, and it turned to face her once more, charging over to the tree she was in. But then, suddenly, it stopped moving. Purple and black chains coalesced around the creature, locking it in place. She heard a voice call out from nearby, saying that the chains would last for five seconds. She threw a few more needles at it, and noticed the Elf going in for an attack as well. The boar's health began to drop into yellow. Just as the chains began to break, a dark orb flew into view and collided with the boar's side, taking out a significant chunk of its remaining HP. It was down to a moderate sliver of red at this point.
'Perfect! I'll do my aerial combo and finish it off! ' As the boar turned towards the source of the blast, Kaika swung down from the tree, and landed with a roll. 'Somersault Kick! ' Her foot struck right at the side of the boar's face, and it let out an ear-splitting squeal as it turned towards her again. Kaika vaulted back from the force of the kick, looking the boar straight in the eyes as it charged towards her, and grinned. 'Wyvern Kick! ' Nothing happened. In a panic, Kaika bent down and jumped, expecting to feel the skill's energy flow into her feet. 'Wyvern Kick! ' She managed to leap a few feet into the air, but the skill didn't activate. A short message appeared in the air in front of her as she fell back towards the ground: "Insufficient mana." Kaika's eyes went wide. She hadn't been paying attention her her mana bar at all! Before she landed from her jump, however, the boar barreled into her feet, spinning her over its back as she slammed face-first into the ground, and her world went black...
Shortly after Kaika's body collided with the ground, it slumped over, and lay still. Her body began to shimmer with light, the surface looking like a ripple in a pond, and then there was a flash of color as her body burst into bubbles, dissipating quickly into the treetops.

One... the swashbuckler's knees bent as he prepared to leap to avoid the onrushing boar. Two... A steady breath to calm the nerves and fear that rippled through his body the question of if this was real still lingering their in the corner of his mind as he watched as the boar continued his its endless stride. Then things happened before he could leap but as he was about to do so a voice came from the aether as if a body might have appeared without conscious effort within the woods. With those words came chains binding the moving and now struggling beast to the earth. He turned to the voice not sure what to think of it, the tatters that covered his form the threads that seemed to bind him together. He looked by all basic appearances to be a beast of evil and not something meant or bred for a place of life and light. Yet here he was his power wrapped around him much like a cloak and a hand raised as he stated things that offered him a tactical assessment. "You have about 5 seconds before those chains break, At about the same time I'm gonna let it have it with this so try to think of something quick!" Five seconds, how much had already passed since the animal had been bound. How much was left and would he survive this creature. Another breath as he stared at the beast noticing that he had apparently gained a new skill since facing his first boar. Glancing it over he watched his Cooldowns again waiting but he was not sure they would be finished by the time the chains were gone. He saw them begin to give as he prepared his blades. On at an angle low and pointed toward the sky the other held above and crossing his body angled down. “Bang” An orb of energy lashed out slamming into the boar even as the chains began to shatter. The monk chose the moment of the chain snapping to swoop in... this act regardless of potential recklessness or stupidity was enough to give the swashbuckler that moment he needed He watched the Monk enter into a combo. A kick nailing the beast and drawing the aggro as he continued on... seeming to have no luck in continuing it. She tried to avoid the charging onslaught but it was to little to late... he legs clipped tossed her off balance and the force of her head striking the ground was enough to kill her... He had no time to question the turn of events as his hands gripped his hilts for a moment letting the beast begin its attack. Mirage X his blades shifted on rising as the other fell and crossed moments apart as the move slammed into the barely standing boar. Reappearing behind the boar Celebrimbor began his turn. The sword in his right hand bit in first Viper Raise... The first technique caught the beast in the legs nailing him for a speed debuff and DOT at the same moment as he continued his fingers tightening on the second blade as it began to glow and the blade seemed to lengthen as light seemed to collect along its blade. Straights was the new technique... The blade itself was four feet longer as he finished the swing... The swordsman was already jumping as the blade fell its extra length veiled by golden light cutting into and through the boar... The last of its life vanishing as it fell apart into bubbles... Safe again for the moment he collapsed to the ground... He was ready to be done that was for sure... Plus he had just seen a person die and he was not sure how exactly that might effect a person as he stared at his own severely depleted health gauge for a moment. “Thanks for the assist, Name is Celebrimbor...” He eventually called over to the zombie esque looking guy... he was very glad the guy had not made a determination to go after his face or eat him... which was in and of itself a blessing... He eyed the swashbuckler as he stepped out from the brush, trying not to trip or get snagged on any loose branches. His tattered black clothes flowing around him, catching on the trees and bushes anyway made his approach a little less graceful than he had probably hoped for. He didn't even have anything to help cut his way through. He made his way out nonetheless, the base of his clothes catching on a rogue thorn as he just cleared the bushes into the clearing, tripping him and causing him to fall face-first into the ground in front of the swordsman. Glancing up his tired eyes met the look of the tall, flame-haired elf. He could tell the elf was at least a little weary of him, most likely due to his own strange appearance. “Thanks for the assist, Name is Celebrimbor...”
His own response came a bit slow, unsure of the appropriate response to give the man. Did he use his own username, or his actual name? He figured for the sake of averting confusion, he might as well reference himself with his own username. "Uhh...Noctis. Noctis Corvo." He slowly stood up, unhooking the base of his clothes from the vile thorn that had dared to trip him. Tearing the cloth robes off of the plant, he stood up, dusting himself off and shaking his head to get the slight dizziness out of it. He looked around. No other boars seemed to be in the area, which he guess could be lucky. The monk had gotten grazed and...died? He didn't know for sure if that term would work. He had yet to figure out if death was permanent in this world yet. He figured he could at least converse with..Celebrimbor?...about what to do next. They had just met, but he didn't want to just leave the man here. It would be bad for both of their sakes if either of them encountered another beast like the boar on their own. He scratched the back of his head with a stitched-up hand. "So....What now?"Noctis cused himself in his head. He really needed to work on his people skills.
