Ryth sat down near the corpse of Brachyura, the adrenaline from his battle and the stress that came with it still weighing heavily on his body as his anxiety disorder stopped him from calming down quickly, or at all since his thoughts constantly raced about what the hell he had gotten himself into and tried to rationalise the insanity of his situation. his mind raced through multiple possibilities as he sat there thinking. his mind always going back to the feast that was supposed to happen but now ended up to be... this. he didn't forget the pebble of philosophy and the power it gave him to defeat brachyura. finally coming out of his thoughts he headed out of the temple and back to the boat he used to get to this unusual island.
the trip back to london or... whatever it's called now; it just seemed hard for him to get the name right; was generally uneventful as he rode his horse along the paths, extremely glad he chose the cavaleir subclass since it gave him less time to think about everything and get more stressed or bored. these thoughts didn't last long as the focus required to stay on his mount kept him occupied for the whole trip back to... he was just going to stop trying to say it correctly soon. in london he finally seemed to relax while walking through the city, watching everyone go about their lives; sometimes he got envious of the people of the land; content with their easy lives and not tied down from the world the adventurers left behind. he honestly wished he was born and raised as an adventurer here because his entertainment and mental processes translated badly into this new world. but that internal monologue was for another time, since he could see the residence of the messier sage. he tried to make himself a little more presentable as he walked in since the people of the land cared about appearances as much as the people on earth.

Kane was still trying to get over killing his instance of Brachyura. He pulled out the pebble, and stared at it. It glowed softlly, having recalled its temporary lease back within its depths. The power it gave though...Level 90... The power of the miasma had never felt so overwhelming before. I mean, Noctis, in his most raw and unburdened sense just took complete control; the madness almost sickening. The may he bent the power to his will, his crude yet cruel efficiency. He had to admit it was terrifying to behold. He knew now what lay within him, what constantly sat at the back of his mind. He would definitely need to work on controlling not only his powers, but his mind as well, in case it were to happen again. He made his way back into Londonium and up to the Sage, Looking for answers, likely to receive more questions. Whatever happens, he would face it, with whatever power he had. Tags: ryth

Ryth headed into the building after knocking politely and waiting for the sage to come out and greet him. once inside he sat down in front of the sage and looked at him intently. "so why have you come back to my humble home child?" this caused a roll of the eyes for the visitor as he really didn't want to go through pleasantries. "I would like to know about this... brachyura that I faced while getting that pebble that you were so interested in. this, though caused the man to almost jump in excitement. "you've met him? the messier order was always searching for beings like brachyura. there are legendary creatures that declared themselves geniuses for somehow gaining enough intelligence to become truly sentient. Brachyura is one of the only recent geniuses that have appeared in recent years, always roaming the Thames coastline to try and find a rightful successor to come and awaken the power of the pebble of philosophy and then take it for himself, most likely from the successors corpse so tell me? how did you survive him and how was he?" this siege of information caused Ryth to visibly put his hand up "you talk too fast for me sage. just so I can understand, what is the pebble of philosophy?" his eyes lit up once again but in a different way "I see that you are a seeker of knowledge as am I. the pebble of philosophy is a collection from an ancient and powerful civilisation, far more advanced than us from what evidence has us believe but they died out because of a civil war between city states." 'well that explains the memories' "okay. so this monster wanted to take this anima from the most powerful race that we know of? for what purpose?" the sage then began to go into speculation "well not much is known about their motives, to know those we'd need to go into the activities of the other geniuses." he then went into the other listed geniuses until one sparked Ryth's interest "wait, I heard of this "red" what is it?" the man's eyes lit up in surprise again "you have heard of him? not much is known of that except his title: the red is most likely a pseudonym as well as the high possibility that he feeds off the creative energy of crafters to live for the hundreds of years; the only sure fact we know is that he started the even the banquet of revolution that ultimately destroyed the civilization whose anima is in that pebble though rumours have been going around about him appearing as the human chef Van Rogue recently." this gave Ryth many thoughts to go through as he looked at his necklace which seemed to have an indent he never saw before. taking out his pebble he had the urge to see if it fit in which he immediately complied to, it slot in perfectly for some reason but as soon as it was in he felt dizzy, as if he was going to faint

The swashbuckler had already asked the questions that Kane had in mind, so for the sake of sparing himself and the sage another round of repeating the information, he just sat and absorbed it. The bits about more genius monsters struck him as strange. Sapience on the parts of the beasts? He guessed it made sense, especially after the experience he had versing Brachyura. It not only seemed living, but it was definitely sapient, and much different than the beasts he had run into so far in this world. This new character though, The Red as the two called him. He didn't know enough about him. The name sounded ominous though, and if he was on the same level, possibly even higher than the crab-man? Noctis wasn't sure he wanted to think about that. All that came to mind was an old image of a comic he read long ago, about a madman who came back from the dead and was even crazier than he was before, serving people their own faces at a banquet table. As the two talked he began eyeing the cuneiform that he gave to the Sage earlier on his quest. Strangely enough, there was a pictogram resembling the fountain he had just come from. Quickly pulling up the inventory screen, he summoned the pebble into his hand. Rolling it around as he thought, he came to the conclusion that the hole and the pebble seemed almost eerily close to the same size and shape, and decided to place the stone upon it. Upon doing so, the stone slowly began to emit a light pulsing light, that seemed to grow in intensity as time drew on. "Hey you guys might want to take a look at this," he called over as the light began to reach the levels of a bright lightbulb. He began to feel the pulsing of the light, not just in the back of his eyes like a headache, but all through his body. It was almost nauseating. Then, the world blurred out around him.
