For one, the season of Halloween was something she had never really known and so all the pumpkin-looking decorations all around had surprised the girl. Where she imagined that there was some sort of pumpkin deity, it was simply a holiday where people would often wear odd costumes. It was a time that brought a great deal of attention from tailors all around. Hearing this, Laelia wanted to partake in the festivities a little bit. If it was a simple costume she needed to make, one that did not require very much protection or durability, then she certainly had enough experience to make such things. Having had enough experience in a little shop back in the Yellow District, there were plenty of Lune citizens who desired such things all the time. Nevertheless, she was finding it difficult to understand just what kind of fashion people were expecting in this world. Midori had explained that the typical costumes for Halloween were characters and mascots. Witches, stereotypically old ladies who wore cloaks similar to the mage classes topped by a pointy hat. There were vampires, pointy-teethed people who dressed up in fancy costumes topped off with red and black capes. Midori also said that there were a number of people who would dress as ghosts and wear tablecloths over their bodies rather than actual clothes. She found that kind of thing hard to believe, because such a description resembled more of the task of backstage performers instead. And even then, they typically wore black clothes to blend in with a dark background on stage. "This really makes no sense." She refused to make a tablecloth and call it a costume. That was something that was a poor excuse for a costume choice. As Laelia would stay here in the Unfounded Kingdom, she had taken up residence in Midori's open bedroom. The magician stated that the girl who used to live in this room had recently moved out to begin her adventure and that she would introduce the two rather soon. Nevertheless, for the time being, the blonde-haired girl had traveled out into the village to purchase some cloth and startup materials that she would need to create her works. The clothier in the village sold an unremarkable type of cloth for cheap. The fabric was thin and didn't seem to be made from anything other than cotton or hempen thread. It didn't really matter for costumes though, so long as they were designed enough to be comfortable for the person wearing it. The Bard took the first piece of cloth and overlaid it upon another, as though she were attempting to mend the two pieces together. There was a special technique that she had learned before about making equipment and it seemed to carry over into this world as well. So long as she didn't try to cook anything, crafting using the interface was perfectly fine when it came to making clothes. She picked up her tailor's needle and ran it upon the length of the cloth pieces. As soon as she did, a tiny circle interface started to appear before her eyes. This was actually something that was a mechanic from when Elder Tale was a game, where crafting of certain item types involved unique crafting minigames of their own. In the original game, the task was to touch the multiple circles that popped up on the screen using the mouse in a matter that slightly resembled a music rhythm game. The low level of the craft prevented some of the more complicated mechanics from showing up, but otherwise this was something that would have been common convention for the Lander girl. After touching the circle with the tip of the needle, it disappeared and made a soft chiming sound. The two pieces of cloth were suddenly merged together as though they made been stitched together. It was difficult to understand the context of Adventurers because she came from a city where the Adventurers had not existed. Supposedly, they were a special group of people with supernatural abilities in the form of their existence. An Adventurer would essentially always state that they came from a world outside of this own. Supposedly this world of the Unfounded Kingdom had not existed for more than two years now. Before then, the world was actually a game called Elder Tale. It was apparently some sort of magitech invention of the "real" world in which people played the game by controlling characters and giving them life via their commands. Laelia still found it hard to imagine, as everything the other girl was stating had contradicted everything she'd known about all her life. In any case, when the Adventurers came to this world, they wore a set of clothes often described as starter equipment. Laelia was currently examining one of such pieces, as the other girl had left the gear set in order to free up her inventory. This equipment was something that possessed some minimal amount of defense, despite being made from the same quality of cloth that she was using. This gave Laelia an idea in trying to understand how the costume was made. If she would be able to grasp the concept, then she certainly will be one step closer to making equipment that would certainly help in taking back her world. But in any case, that was probably a bit too lofty of an aspiration. For the time being, the girl would finish this costume and be done with it. The basis of the matter was that extra materials would have been used up and their components dissolved into mana. The mana is then catalyzed by the reforge in order to leave a lasting augmentation onto the piece of equipment. By in large, the benefits of a reforged item can range from increased ability in combat to a greater potency when performing skills. Or at least the theory went something along that line. She may have had some education at the Coral College, but her area of expertise was in the Harmonics, not Spiritcraft. In any case, it was probably too early for her to immediately proceed into learning how to perform reforges just on any kind of equipment. Let's do some accessory crafting. She would need to start small again, considering that that the system was a little different than she had been used to. It would be best to start out by enchanting some accessories and then afterward, scale upward by crafting an item and then immediately proceeding onto the reforge step. It was primarily a matter of how she could adapt to the theory rather than being able to make the accessory itself. Abstract theory was the main challenge in this problem. The young Bard may have been decent level enough to handle fighting most common monsters in this world, but she would prefer to stay away from combat if she could have helped it. Her own tailoring ability was an area that she had a better understanding of what she could and couldn't do; any effects that would boost her craft would have been very welcome in doing so. Perhaps the question is, then, what kind of accessory could she make in order to have an amplifying effect on her trade? She thought about the tailoring profession in general. The most prominent idea were tools like a spinning needle or a loom, rather than specific equipment. If she were a blacksmith, then at least it was simple to be able to create a hammer and perhaps some protective gear from the sparks. Nevertheless, Laelia concluded that she just needed to imagine something she could visually using to perform her crafts with ease. The blonde-haired weaver thought of gloves next. It was a common idea for many tailors to wear some protective gloves in their craft to reduce the risk of accidental cuts from using the needle or other tools. On the other hand, gloves were often controversial in that many types resulted in decreased dexterity or grip strength of the hands during delicate crafts. And in the end, she felt as though she had a fairly decent working concept. It wasn't anything overly complicated and rather, it was something more along the lines of utility gloves rather than actual protective ones. The basic outline of the gloves was the fingerless design; it was tighter toward the palm and encompassed the knuckles but tapered off at that point. There were no finger holes to have to work through, the glove simply ended at the knuckles and was secured by how it clung lightly to the wrist. Along the side of the wrist would have been a bit of leather with slots that would hold assorted things. One was aware of pencil holders and such objects during school, only these gloves' holders were thinner in order to hold tailor needles and potentially a bit of thread. Laelia had the idea down and envisioned how she could have used the finished product, so now the only step was simply to craft up the accessory. She had prepared a fair amount of lightweight leather and thin yet durable pieces of cloth. The craft was simple enough - she tapped all the circles that materialized in the first few seconds. Then, the minigame became slightly more complicated. The next phase involved her using the tailor's needle almost like a stylus, as a line materialized in her vision and she had to carefully guide a circle indicator along the line without going too slow or too fast. The handbook mentioned something where if one was good at Osu in real life, they were more likely to catch onto the idea more easily. Laelia had no idea what that piece of advice would mean.
