The world is a dangerous place, and if you sit around wringing your hands about it, you'll miss out on all the adventure. words 371 SCRIBE | It was early in the morning, and Indy was up and about, helping Faustus sort through supplies and craft some items. He didn't have any particular plans for today, and intended to watch over the shop while he did some reading on a selection of books that the old man owned. He possessed some very interesting material that spoke of the world they were currently living in, which could help the Bard better understand Elder Tale. But sometime before lunch, he received a call from Capsule, who was interested in having a battle lesson today. Indy didn't see any problems with that, so agreed and asked her to meet him by the gates of the city. After pulling out several sheets of parchment from a bowl of special solution and hanging them up to dry, he got up from his chair, stretched his arms into the air with a yawn, then bade Faustus goodbye as he left the store and walked through the streets. On his way to his destination, he visited the marketplace and bought something to eat. He settled for some toast with some jam spread over it, then asked for some packed sandwiches - which he planned to set aside for lunch later on. After paying the vendor, he resumed his walk while he ate his breakfast. He arrived at the front of the gates just as he finished his toast, and saw that his companion was still not around. So while waiting for Capsule to arrive, he decided to pass the time by taking out his violin. The tune he started playing was an upbeat one, from a movie he enjoyed watching. As the music flowed from his instrument, he thought of where he and Capsule could go to. There were several options, and he chose not to make any sure decision yet; not until the red haired woman arrived so they could discuss their plans together. He did have some preferences though. The Marshlands was still an unexplored place for him, and for someone who enjoyed visiting new places, it was an ideal place to go to. When the song he played came to an end, he lowered his violin and spotted someone walking up to him. OOC: *this is what Indy was playing |

Today was a rather big one for Capsule - or would be, if all went well. She was going to call Indy and ask the man if he could show her the ropes for a bit. The only problem was that she was not used to phoning people up out of the blue, and had to stop and be considerate when she started to contact him early in the morning. What if he was asleep? What if he was working? What if he had "company" over? It would be a little rude of her to disrupt his morning schedule for her benefit. 'Ok. Give it a few hours. He should be awake and free then.' Again, this was assuming that the man had went to bed at a reasonable time, and was not hung over, though it seemed unlikely that he was the sort to drink heavily. 'Then again…' This world was so different to their own in many ways, so some people were bound to sleep in when they usually wouldn't. It's not like most of them would have any normal work routines, anyway.
Capsule spent the better part of the morning worrying herself over niceties, and idly tidying up her apartment. After exhausting every means of entertainment, including bathing and eating, she flopped down onto her pile of cushions and fiddled with her friend's list. She pretended like she had to search for Indy's name through zero other contacts before poking his name with one finger. 'Alright. Here goes.' There were a few seconds of silence, during which she clasped one hand to her ear in anticipation.
She realized a bit too late that she was supposed to transmit her thoughts, not actual verbalizations, over to Indy, who had "picked up" on his end. Her thoughts were a bit excitable and jumbled, though she made herself clear in the end, and if there were any problems they were not pointed out by Indy. 'He said yes!' Why she was so excited, she would never know. Either way, a small bounce made itself known in her footsteps as she skipped out of her abode, and headed towards the designated meeting place.
The redhead was bright eyed and bushy tailed, so it did not take long at all for her to find Indy, though the man was so short that she almost missed him. It was the music that truly alerted her to his presence, a curious tune that he was playing with his violin. Capsule paused for a moment, certain that she had heard that tune elsewhere. It sounded like something her eldest brother would like, and could probably identify better than she. Without much to go on, it was basically just noise to Capsule.
Noise or not, she waited until the Elf was finished before approaching him. "Guten Tag," she called out to the fair haired man. She came to a stop by his side, feeling like a little giant as she towered over him. "What were you playing? It sounded a little too upbeat to be the world's saddest song." His violin wasn't that small, either. [attr="class","adler_post a"] [attr="class","aptype"]Adl&r, the Guardian [attr="class","stats right"] Thread Type Private TrainingTagged Shiranui, WeegeeWrote 560 wordsAdler was, undoubtedly, a night owl. If she had bothered to keep track, she would probably be able to count the number of times she’d ever gotten up for work before six in the morning on one hand. Nonetheless, it was important she be awake by dawn during the past couple of days, so she had. The reason for her doing so was that Adler would be among the first to scour stalls belonging to Adventurers and People of the Land alike for materials she could use in her crafting, and therefore have first pickings. A side benefit to prowling the marketplace was that, since there were fewer people in the morning keeping stall and store owners busy, they were free to talk to her about news or gossip. If they wanted to talk to anyone else, then it was still easier to listen in on people’s conversations with less background noise masking their words. So far, Adler had been unable to find new materials to make higher quality art with, but rumor had it that somebody had found a dungeon in Windsor Castle grounds. “Which means,” She overheard another player saying to his friend. “Better drops. I bet you anything we’ll find rare armor or high quality raw materials in there.” His friend shushed him and dragged him away, but Adler was already grinning ear to ear and heading back home to prepare supplies for a reconnaissance trip. Adler ate a heavy brunch and trekked towards the gate leading out of London. To avoid the usual traffic, she figured heading out while most people were returning for lunch was a clever idea. With less people out in the field, there would be fewer people to have to worry about; even player killers needed to eat. Along the way, she heard a violin being played by someone who seemed to be quite skilled. While the composition wasn’t what one would expect from an orchestra, it was catchy and was being played well. As Adler neared the musician, she decided not to stop, thinking the music was yet another distraction that would work in her favor. When she saw who it was however, she stopped and waited for him to finish. Indy was a friend, and it wouldn’t kill her to delay her departure for a few more minutes. When the piece was done, Adler started to applaud. When no one joined her however, she stopped quickly and decided to just walk over to Indy and thank him personally. A person with a familiar shade of red hair approached the Bard, and Adler grinned to herself. Two of the Tea Story crowd in one place; perhaps Weegee and Shira were going to show up right behind her. “Hey Indy! Capsule!” She yelled, deliberately ignoring the churning in her stomach that always acted up whenever she attempted to do something embarrassing. She waved her arms and smiled like a maniac before jogging over there to join them. “Didn’t expect to see you two here. Are you going on a date?” Adler grinned. She didn’t do a lot of teasing in the real world, but it seemed apt in this situation. Besides, if the two really were on a date, she would give them the chance to shoo her away. Otherwise, they were probably going to be stuck with her for a while. [attr="class","maindivclass"] [attr="class","shirabar g"] [attr="class","shirabar b"] The day was young, the weather was bright, and the town was bustling with activity. It was the perfect atmosphere for productivity. Shiranui put the closed sign on his desk and wandered off towards the city exit. Before leaving the proximity of his desk-shop, he summoned his Follower, Uzume, so his mana would be recharged by the time he got out into the open field. Today, he was out to go farther into the open field- specifically, towards the Marshland by what was apparently the river Thames. The possibility of better quality cloth or leather materials summoned the tailor out of hiding. According to his experiences with MMOs, people usually gathered at the entrance of a dungeon and created a party for almost anyone to join. But this was Elder Tale, which was more complicated than the usual mainstream MMOs. On top of that, the players were physically doing the tasks themselves, adding a bit more difficulty in terms of gameplay.
It had taken Shiranui a few days to get accustomed to this world’s physics and getting used to its co-existence with magic, though it does help that the system sort of guides the body to make it move on its own. Uzume saw her summoner’s lack of focus and nipped at his leg to snap him out of it. The fox sternly stared at the little creature. This one was very different from the one he had in the past- not just in the color scheme but on how it acted, as well. The old Uzume in the Japanese server was calmer and more obedient, unlike the mischievous and playful Uzume currently walking right beside him. Now that he thought about it, interacting with mystical beings were rather different up close than through an LCD screen. He bent down a bit and pat Uzume on the head, avoiding the ruby directly on her forehead; that gem could do quite a bit of damage, and Shira wasn’t quite sure about how it worked.
He had already began walking, and passed by the rugged Old Parliament building, when he saw Adler, Capsule and Indy standing in front of a gate that looked rather rusty and old. At least I won’t be going out alone. More so, I know those people! thought Shira. “Come on, Uzume,” said Shira as he ushered his Follower towards the trio with a more upbeat skip in his step.
“Adler, Capsule and Indy! What a coincidence running into all three of you, here. May I ask what kind of debauchery are you all up to here at Parliament?” asked Shira nonchalantly. Uzume, having already met Capsule, walked over to her and affectionately nuzzled her leg, casually ignoring everyone else. “I see Uzume likes you, Capsule. Although, it is a bit strange; usually she’s more hyper and... bitey(?) than this. Oh!” Shira turned his attention to the Elf and Ritual, “Adler and Indy, meet my Follower Uzume.” The Summoner nodded towards his companion, who gave no sign of acknowledging the two as she was busy enjoying Capsule’s company.

I GET ALONG WITH THE VOICES INSIDE OF MY HEAD
Weegee found himself rather bored as he waled aimlessly around on the rooftops of some buildings. Being up high put his mind at ease, as he worried over things he couldn't control. However, as he peered over the edge he watched a familiar short, blond man pass underneath him. He tilted his head as he mulled over a few ideas, and simply decided to follow him. He had nothing better to do, so he figured shadowing a friend of his would be at least slightly more amusing. Sticking to the rooftops he quickly realized that something had changed from when he first began his life in this game. Sure, he had leveled up as a Monk, but his body had gotten stronger and quicker in the time that had passed, to the point that even without using his Skills, he could perform leaps and kicks with relative ease. Sure, the Skills made him go even higher now, but he could at least do some parkour now.
It seemed like Indy was heading out of town with the path that he took, but he stopped just at the gate and waited. And he waited. Weegee was quickly growing bored once more, that is, until h began playing music. Then, things got much more interesting, as not only Capsule appeared, but Adler and Shiranui as well! Laughing out loud, he leaped into the air with his Wyvern Kick, landing with a thud just a few feet behind the group. Dusting himself off briefly he waved to the group with a smile across his face. "Well, if it isn't the people I know. Strange happenings that we always seem to meet up together on random days." He stretched slightly as he gave a pause in his talking. "So, what is everyone doing today? Accompanying Capsule and Indy on a date? Or maybe we're all like me and stalking our blond protege." He blinked for a minute, as he realized what he had just said. "Yes, yes I was stalking him out of sheer boredom. I had nothing else to do, sorry." He rubbed the back of his head as some red color flushed his cheeks. "So, any way we could end the boredom, or shall I just go find someone else to stalk for the day?"

The world is a dangerous place, and if you sit around wringing your hands about it, you'll miss out on all the adventure. words 631 BARD | Indy smiled as he watched Capsule making her way to where he stood. He strapped the violin to his back once more while she asked him about the music he was playing a few seconds ago. "Good morning Miss Capsule. I was playing a piece from a movie that I've watched in the past. It's about pirates. Treasure, adventure and all that." He answered with a grin.
It seemed that his playing had attracted a few more people to their location - or not; he didn't really dwell on that thought, but it was fun to imagine that he had that kind of power to draw attention with his performance - starting with the ever lovely and energetic Adler. She greeted the two Adventurers loudly as she jogged towards them. "Good morning Miss Adler." He greeted her in kind.
“Didn’t expect to see you two here. Are you going on a date?”
The blond haired man glanced at Capsule for a brief moment, trying to gauge her reaction to that statement, before looking back at Adler and shaking his head with a smile. "No, we're not going on a date. Though I wouldn't be against going on one with such a lovely lady as Miss Capsule." He added.
"Miss Capsule and I were simply heading out to explore the monster-infested areas." He explained further. He deliberately left out the part where he was supposed to teach the red haired woman how to get used to the stress and pressures of a battle. It was a piece of information that was not his to reveal, so he left that decision to Capsule.
The next person to arrive was the white haired Fox Tail Summoner named Shiranui. He joined their group, along with a strange fox-like creature that was probably one of his summoned familiars. "Good morning Sir Shiranui. And it's nice to meet you Uzume." He greeted as he looked down at the creature with a smile.
Before he could explain to the other Adventurer what they were doing, another person with brown hair suddenly fell down from above in a skillful acrobatic move. He landed several feet away from them with a thud, then stood up to brush the dirt off himself. As soon as he got up to his feet, Indy recognized him as another of his acquaintances. He smiled and nodded to him. "Good morning Sir Weegee."
He blinked in silence when the other admitted to stalking him. The thought that Weegee had been following him this whole time - maybe even watched him sleep, made slight chills of nervousness run down his spine; a reaction so brief and minuscule that it went unnoticed by everyone else in the group. He wasn't exactly sure how to respond to that confession. Eventually, he settled with chuckling in amusement. "I hope I didn't bore you even further then. I don't think I've done anything particularly interesting today."
He couldn't help but notice that their group was growing larger and larger by the minute. He took a quick look around, wondering if more people were going to suddenly appear. But it looked like anyone else who passed by simply ignored them - except for the occasional, curious glance. He mentally shrugged it off and spoke to the group before they started to wonder why he wasn't answering them. "Miss Capsule and I were about to go out of the city to explore new areas and fight monsters." He explained.
That was all he said, for he was only a guest who was invited by Capsule to go out. He had no right to invite anyone else in, even if he wanted to. He didn't know if the red haired woman would mind having others along, and he didn't know her well enough to decide for her.

Poor Capsule was just trying to have a conversation with a friend before going monster hunting, but fate deemed it necessary to rain all over her parade. She just knew something bad was going to happen when that familiarly boisterous voice called out their names. Adler was a Guardian, so Cap did not mind if she wanted to join them. A third person (and tank) could really come in handy.
The redhead raised her arm to call out to the older woman in greeting, then paled and felt her arm droop to the side at the sudden question. "U-um - excuse you?" She could feel her entire face heating up, and had no way to shield it but by turning her back on the woman, which might have made things worse. 'Yeah, so does standing here with a cherry red tomato face.' Her eyes shifted sharply to the right, avoiding anything that belonged to Adler. "I-it's not a date," she squeaked out in a tinny voice. She wasn't sure how Adler had even come to such a conclusion! Men and women could hang out with each other and be friends.
'I'm going to bop you, Indy. I'm going to bop you so hard.' She wanted to melt into the ground and vanish from sight. Harmless or not, the teasing just made her all shade of nervous, which was why she was glad and relieved that Shira happened to be wandering by. "Shira! You're a life saver," she muttered as the Fox-tail came closer. Here presence should be enough to squash the subject of the "date". "So, we all know each other?" It seemed very coincidental that they would gather up like this. 'Maybe it's fate.' That thought ended with a light snort, and was forgotten about when Uzume decided to be friendly.
Capsule reached down to gently pet the little fox-like creature. It was being oddly affectionate with her, but blatantly ignoring Indy and Adler. She looked up for a moment when Indy referred to Shira as "Sir". "...Shira's a girl, Indy. It's not polite to joke like that." That was her gut instinct, and she was sticking to it. She gave the Summoner a thumbs up in support. She was still making the gesture when yet another person showed up, one who was also familiar to the redhead, and surely the others. 'They're crawling out the woodworks.'
Weegee just had to bring up the date thing, which Capsule maybe would have could have should have told him to shut up about, had he not casually mentioned stalking Indy. "Uuuh…" This was all too much at once for the redhead, who just wanted a simple training session and not be the butt end of a joke.
She slinked closer to Indy, well aware of how her shoulders hunched up and tried to engulf her head. "Can we just...go? I don’t mind if you guys tag along, either." She shot a meaningful look at Indy. "A larger group will draw attention to itself, but the odds of us being outnumbered are slimmer...right?" It would also give her an opportunity to work with a full party for the first time since the Catastrophe struck. [attr="class","adler_post a"] [attr="class","aptype"]Adl&r, the Guardian [attr="class","stats right"] Thread Type Private TrainingTagged Shiranui, WeegeeWrote 597 wordsIndy smoothly answered her query in the negative, though Capsule’s reaction was more suspicious. All the same, Adler smiled good-naturedly; the redhead looked like she might actually run away if she were teased any further. “Miss Capsule and I were simply heading out to explore the monster-infested areas.” The Bard clarified. Perfect. Before she could invite herself along however, another person showed up. Had Adler crashed in on a prearranged party? She wondered if they still had space in their lineup. Shira debunked that particular theory not long after showing up. “Adler, Capsule and Indy! What a coincidence running into all three of you, here.” Adler’s eyes might as well have turned into hearts. A small ferret-like creature with vulpine features scurried up to Capsule, completely ignoring the other two of their number. With the nearly fluorescent shade of its eyes and surreal markings on its face, Uzume looked like he came straight out of a game. Which, of course, it did. It was a silly sentiment to keep having considering how long they’ve been stuck in this place. “She’s so cute!” Adler squealed, picking up on Shira’s pronoun of choice. Uzume’s appearance was slightly intimidating however, so Adler did nothing more than watch her interact with Capsule. She figured it was like eating a wild mushroom; it looked safe, but until Adler learned what it was one way or another, it was probably better to leave it alone. ‘But I’m Adler.’ She thought to herself. Isabella Rose might have been content with watching from afar, but the whole point of being Adler was to be daring and do anything, particularly those she would never believe she’d ever want to do. Besides, it was just a little ferret. “Nice Uzume,” She cooed, inching slowly nearer. Adler slowly reached out to touch its fur. “Miss Capsule and I were about to go out of the city to explore new areas and fight monsters.” Indy explained later. “Can we just...go? I don’t mind if you guys tag along, either.” Capsule looked like someone had a sniper rifle trained on her and was being forced to go along with some ruse nobody but Indy was privy to. She seemed oddly jittery even compared to how Adler knew her while working the Tea Story stall together. “… outnumbered are slimmer... right?”It was probably just her imagination. She knew people who were just like Capsule. Heck, not too long ago, Isabella was probably more like Capsule than she was Adler. Her follow-up reasoning hinted at a cautious personality; could she have been nervous because she barely knew Adler and Weegee? Perhaps the Frenmic Rabbit sculpture she carved for her came across as less charming and more unsettling than she thought it would. Adler had half a mind to withdraw from the invitation. ‘Thick skin.’ “Count me in!” Adler said happily, grinning from ear to ear. Besides, a thought suddenly popped into her head. “And don’t worry, I know what you’re up to.” Adler winked at Indy. She didn’t think Capsule could stand the gesture, thinking it was a threat. “It’s for the dungeon, isn’t it.” She added quickly, both in a hurry to reassure the Pharmacist, and also because she was excited at the prospect of doing another raid. Dungeon. Why did she keep calling it a raid? “It’d be a grand undertaking for our merry band of men and women. Think of all the treasure!” That last part was delivered in an undertone. Adler bit her lip to shut herself up and let the others get a word in edgewise. [attr="class","maindivclass"] [attr="class","shirabar g"] [attr="class","shirabar b"] After Shira had just finished his introduction, he had heard strange laughing noise from above him. At first, he thought it had just been his imagination making him think of a flying person, but that was until he actually looked up. The monk Weegee both extremely and awkwardly came to the scene. The fellow Fox Tail flew in from above using his combat skill and landed with an audible thud. Shiranui chuckled at Weegee’s peculiar hobby. “His brightly colored hair is a bit of a giveaway,” joked Shira.
For the second time in his life since the Catastrophe, he was mistaken for a girl. “Actually, Capsule, I’m ma-” Once again, Shiranui’s sentence was cut off. Will I ever finish that sentence? he sullenly thought to himself. The Fox Tail never really clarified that on his previous outing with Capsule- or any other outing, for that matter. A small part of him was beginning to think that that question might be jinxed. That’s two strikes. Hopefully, there shouldn’t be a third… The thumbs up didn’t feel comforting in any way at all. The enchanter probably meant well, so Shira smiled back, appreciating the thought that counted. Even though that thought was about him being feminine.
Uzume was getting comfortable beside Capsule and was attracting more attention from the female members of the growing group. Shira snickered. Uzume was enjoying it quite a bit. When Adler commented on her cuteness, she casually began grooming her paws then stood pompously to receive the pat on the head. The more I learn about my Follower, the less I understand her.
Capsule seemed to be in a hurry to get things going before the troupe got weirder. “Haha. Sure we’ll come along. Uzume...” Shira tried recalling the familiar to his side. No luck. Oh well, she’ll be clinging to Capsule anyway so she’ll probably tag along, as well. Maybe because her ego is growing.
“Speaking of dungeons,” Shira began “There is one we could all go to. It’s in the Marshlands where the river Thames is supposed to be. There’s a mini dungeon there that I think anyone can enter. There’s quite a lot of us, so I’m sure we can successfully clear it. Oh, and I can help with healing if anyone might need it.”

I GET ALONG WITH THE VOICES INSIDE OF MY HEAD
"Ah, monsters eh? Well, sign me up then. I'd probably have stalked you out there anyways Indy. You're just the first person I knew that I found walking around. It's not like I watch people sleep, I do have some sort of common decency in this reality." He crossed his arms before leaping over the group and onto the limb of a nearby tree. "Anyways, what area are we going to exactly?" His question was slightly answered by a suggestion from Shira. "Sounds good to me, of course, I haven't ventured into the swamps personally myself yet, so I'm really excited to see what it's like there." He stood up on the branch and quickly began ascending the tree to its tallest height. Scanning the horizon he spotted the marshlands a fair walk away, but hey, what was an adventure if it was only a hop, skip and a jump away from where you started?
As he leaped down from the tree, he wrapped his scarf around his neck, so that the two leaves that made up the ends of his scarf hung down across his back. "Well, I say we nominate a leader to lead our expedition. And, I nominate, Indy. Cause, hey, what better idea than to let someone who reminds me of Indiana Jones lead the way, right? Of course, I could just be talking out me arse here, but hey, all's fun that doesn't kill you, right?" He chuckled as he moved to the back of the group. Yeah, he was a little off his rocker, even more so than normal at the thought of adventure, but this was just the start of his excitement.
"Oh I can't wait to see what this place looks like, what the monsters fight like, what it all smells like! Oh, I can barely stand it, come on everyone, let's go, go, go go!" Weegee was practically bouncing on his feet at this point, his ears twitching rapidly as his two tails swirled back and forth. If no one started moving soon, he'd probably end up running ahead of them without any further thought on the matter.

The world is a dangerous place, and if you sit around wringing your hands about it, you'll miss out on all the adventure. words 531 PATHFINDER | When Capsule insisted that Shira was a girl, Indy bit back a smile and pretended to look chastised. "Oh, of course. How impolite of me. I'm sorry for offending you, Miss Shiranui." He said, his eyes twinkling brightly with amusement as he gave a small bow to the white haired Fox Tail. It was strange how the other didn't correct the red haired woman's assumptions. He wondered if there was some purpose for the charade, and hoped that it wasn't for something nefarious. He decided to wait it out for a while, and observe their interactions, before taking action.
Their conversation went back to heading out for the dungeon, and Indy could see that Capsule was more than ready to go. She glanced at him as she asked about the group they were going to form up, and he nodded in response. "Our only purpose for today is to explore and do battle, and it's always more advantageous to do that as a group." The Bard was never one to reject an invite or an offer of company, so he had no problems with having all of them along. He could work professionally with all sorts of players, and his flexibility as a fighter and a support character allowed him to work together with many types of classes.
He was about to ask the group where they wanted to go, when they all started speaking of going into a dungeon. Everyone seemed happy with the idea, and were all excited to head out when Shiranui suggested a specific dungeon that was nearby. Indy didn't see any problems with going to the Marshlands, since that had been one of the places he had in mind when he was still thinking of where he and Capsule could go to. He nodded, smiling along with everyone else. "It seems we're all agreed on the location. Now all that's left is for us to head there." He was just as excited, since it was a new place for him to explore, and provided him the opportunity to make a map of the area.
Before they set off, Weegee suggested that they have Indy as their leader. The blond haired man blinked in surprise, then glanced at the others, observing their reactions. "I'm happy to accept that role, but I'd like to make sure that everyone agrees to it first."
One by one, the rest of the group expressed their approval of the decision made. The Bard smiled at all of them, giving a small nod of gratitude after each of their turn. Then he chuckled as Weegee began bouncing up and down like an eager child. "Very well. If there is nothing else to discuss, then let's go. I'll take the lead, since I can spot monsters from a farther distance with my Pathfinder skill."
He looked around, recalling the paths and the direction of their destination as he determined their route. For now, it would be best for them to stay on the main path until they reached the Marshlands. He began to move forward, taking the first step out of the gates of the city, as he led their group down the road.

The woman did not mind having Uzume by her side; it may even help her remain calm. Animals tended to have that calming effect on people, including Capsule. She was smiling - albeit shyly - as she reached down to pet the fox-like creature, which Adler had also taken a shine to. That smile faded a moment later, when she remembered the pair of fancy rats she kept as pets back in the real world. Who was taking care of them? We're her coworkers and family even aware that she was missing?
Capsule's stomach sank as she thought first of her rats, which were either dead by now or eating each other. She then thought of her parents and brothers, and the family meals they sometimes shared on the weekends. There was also her mother, who liked to call and check up on her after work. They usually did not have much to discuss, and Capsule dreaded the calls more than she enjoyed them, but it was something she would miss all the same. Of course, those thoughts brought up a far more important one - did the world outside know that they were in the world of a video game? Or were they all classified as runaways, kidnappings, or simply "missing"? The fact that their physical bodies and not their consciousness alone was here was telling; the mind could only lie so much.
Shira was saying something about a dungeon in the Marshlands when she came too, though her mind was still muddled over with countless possibilities. While she may not mind exchanging her previous life for this one, fear of the unknown still worried her. 'I'll cross that bridge when I come to it, I guess.' Worrying about it endlessly would get her nowhere. It was the same reason she had difficulty sleeping at night - that and the nightmares of falling through endless portals of death.
"...Indiana Jones?" She stared at Weegee in confusion. Is that who Indy named himself after, or was Weegee just teasing (like she hoped he was about the stalking) again? She blinked and turned her gaze to Indy, who was now speaking. Indy as a leader made perfect sense to her. Her second option would have been Adler, since the woman was a Guardian, though she wasn't too sure that was a good idea. Adler was...well, Adler.
She fell in line behind Indy, feeling butterflies of mild anxiety flickering about in her stomach. With each step, the butterflies grew wild and wilder. There were nastier monsters out in the swamp (like crocodiles!), among other things. Running into a living, breathing animal was not something she wanted to do without caution. 'Maybe I should have stuck closer to the middle.' That meant using either Adler or Weegee as a human meat shield; Shira was too squishy for the task. 'But Weegee is also being odd.' Ok, so that left Adler. '...This doesn't look too good.' How would they get along in a dungeon together, if she felt she couldn't trust them?

[attr="class","adler_post b"] [attr="class","aptype"]Adl&r, the Fortuneteller [attr="class","stats right"] Thread Type Private TrainingTagged Shiranui, WeegeeWrote 481 wordsThe others weren’t put off by her enthusiasm at all. It felt wonderful. Shira went so far as to suggest a dungeon in the Marshlands, which suited Adler just fine. The one in Windsor Castle sounded much harder, and if a level seven Summoner thought they could handle a dungeon elsewhere, then it would be great practice. When Weegee nominated Indy as their leader, she did not object. Nobody would probably vote for her, and he seemed the sanest of them all anyway. “Indy for President!” She laughed, alarming a few passing players. She cleared her throat. “But really, I think it’s a great idea.” After a few more words from everybody, they finally set off. As a precaution, she continuously cast Prediction so that they wouldn’t be taken unaware by elite ranked or field boss monsters. Adler had a problem with making decisions and taking responsibility. If there was one thing in her real job that bothered her, it was that it didn’t look like she was going to be promoted for a while. Isabella Rose was too meek. Sure she had her moments of crazy, but that was just part and parcel of being in a creative environment. She cringed at the idea of ordering people around though, since she wanted be on good terms with everybody. It was like high school and college all over again; she wouldn’t cheat if she could help it, but she wouldn’t report those she knew first-hand didn’t deserve their grades. What happened in Tea Story was a pretty good example of her poor leadership skills. She was able to get a stall together alright, but she hadn’t had a good handle over things starting from when he mob rushed the stall and Weegee almost died from a nosebleed. Adler was too easily frustrated, though she put up a passable front. Now Indy looked more at ease with responsibility. Adler grinned; he was like the Pied Piper. It was too bad that his instrument of choice was a violin, not a flute. She resolved to see how he managed five people, including himself, in battle. For now, she was content with a supportive role. “I have a Fortuneteller skill that might be useful.” They were making good time, it seemed to her. A few monsters spawned along the way, but they were more than equipped to handle those in the first five level bracket. With five people of different specialties, they were probably going to breeze through those in the six to ten bracket as well. “Prediction lets me see what monsters will spawn in the next five minutes. It only works in a ten meter circle from where I stand though. Diameter, not radius.” Though Adler personally didn’t know what to expect from the Marshlands, having never gone farther than the Windsor Greatwood, it could only be beneficial to start talking tactics. Dungeon
“Fine by me. Lead the way, Indy,” agreed Shira. The elf looked experienced it enough, and showed a bit of chivalry in his attitude. Plus, he had the look for it- like the other Indy, as Weegee had previously mentioned. The Summoner didn’t have any complaints; the team’s performance will be determined by the training dungeon that he had picked out for them. And if they were to stop teasing him about his physical appearance, that would have been great as well. He would clear up his gender issue some other time when he didn’t feel so touchy on that specific subject.
Weegee was acting a bit strange. Not that the Summoner had any problems with the fellow Fox Tail. That creepy, unsettling attitude could take some getting used to. After all, he hasn’t shown any form of malicious intent towards anybody. According to Shira’s own knowledge, anyway.
Moving on, the party began discussing the skills they possessed. Both Indy and Adler’s skills were quite useful. Shira’s level one Dancer subclass still had ways to go. At best, he could reduce aggro of monsters around the same level as his subclass. That should be helpful too, right? Even if it’s just a little bit? And, if it doesn’t quite work as I expect, there are four of us to handle a situation with two, no, three supportive characters.
“I could use my Dancer skill to reduce monster aggro? I don’t know much about the extent of its effects as level one, though. It should work for most low level monsters. I’ve only leveled up my main class recently, and I’ve been meaning to try out the new supportive skills I got that works through Uzume.” By that he meant he casted the skills, Uzume would bestow its effects upon someone. He especially thought of the effect that sent an intense, burning ray of light towards a target Indy. Now that was useful.

I GET ALONG WITH THE VOICES INSIDE OF MY HEAD
As each member of the party introduced their personal skills that they could offer to the party, Weegee listened closely as he practically skipped behind them. Adler was able to use her Fortuneteller skill for a practical use, while indy himself could see monsters from a bit further ahead than the rest of them. Even Shiranui had a skill to help dispel some of the aggro if the need arose, but that left Capsule, who had yet to announce her abilities. So, that obviously left himself to go ahead with his own powers.
"Well, between Monk and Scholar I can be of at least some use. I can work as a tank, both evasive and taking punishment due to the abilities I've taken. Not to mention, with each kill I'll get a bit faster with my attacks and they'll even hit harder." He chuckled a little before he mentioned his other skill. "Also, I do happen to be able to Evaluate enemies, being able to not only see their health, mana, level and names like everyone else, but also note their skills, complete with a brief summary of it. Should be helpful in knowing just what we're up against so as to not get caught by surprise." He looked to Capsule next with inquisitive eyes behind a somewhat insanely gleeful face.
"How about you Cap? What spectacular abilities do you bring to the fray?" He'd continue keeping his place at the back of the group as Indy lead the way. For some reason or another, he had this giddy feeling that the group would be on the brink of death. Or at least, someone would be.

The world is a dangerous place, and if you sit around wringing your hands about it, you'll miss out on all the adventure. words 670 SCRIBE | While the group followed Indy down the main path, the Bard took out parchment and quill and began taking down notes of their route. He hadn't been to the Marshlands before, so the road they followed was new to him. He made sure to remember notable trees or rocks that they passed by, so he could use them as landmarks.
On the way to the dungeon, the Adventurers provided a bit of info on their chosen skills. Indy already knew their main classes and had a good idea of what each person was capable of doing, since he had been party to many different types of classes before. It was their subskills that piqued his curiosity. Interesting how none of us share the same skill. It was an opportunity for good mixes of battle tactics. As their leader, Indy had to take note of these things and figure out ways to utilize them properly.
They passed by the large Windor Castle and the wide, open fields of Savill Flower Grove. He led them on, taking a turn away from the main path when he spotted a river. If they continued north, it would lead them to the edges of the Marshlands.
At this point, after everyone had revealed information on their skills, Indy spoke up. "We're almost to the Marshlands, so let us discuss our formation as we go through the area and the dungeon."
"We shall have Sir Weegee stay at the front to serve as our first line of defense and attack, Miss Adler shall be at the back to protect us from any possible ambushes with the use of her predictions, while I shall stay at the middle to keep a good range of sight on all sides. The moment any side is attacked, I want both Sir Weegee and Miss Adler to hurry and join the fight. I shall then take the undefended side and serve as lookout and support." As much as he wanted to join in the fun and let loose his blade, his role in this group would be better served as a support. Their group already had two very capable fighters, and adding one more for the sake of being able to fight wasn't efficient.
"Miss Capsule and Miss Shiranui, you two shall serve as our main support group. Stay in the middle of the three of us, and keep an eye for any monsters we might have missed. And Miss Shiranui, I would like you to wait for my signal before using your dancer skill effect in lowering aggro. We must use that skill at the right moment, and not a second earlier or later, otherwise it wouldn't work."
"Now, this would take considerable effort of teamwork from each one of us, and everyone must follow my orders to the letter. For example, if I were to order Sir Weegee and Miss Adler to retreat, they must do so without question. So if anyone wishes to make any other suggestions, or if you decide that you don't actually wish for me to be the leader, then you must speak up now or forever hold your peace. We can't afford to make mistakes in the dungeon; it might cost us our lives."
Soon, they found themselves wading ankle-deep through muddy water, making Indy grimace as his thin, leather shoes absorbed it and grew heavier and dirtier with each step he took. He wrote 'Reminder, wear good boots when going to the Marshlands.' on his notes for the next time he - or anyone else - used his map to visit the area. Perhaps someone would benefit from the information I acquired though my 'sacrifices'.
He sensed that they were getting close to their destination, so he turned his gaze to Shiranui. "Miss Shiranui, you mentioned that you knew of this dungeon correct? Could you take us there? I'm not familiar with its location, and having you lead us there would be faster than if I were to search for it with my Pathfinder skill."

Muse: What Does The Fox Say? (8-Bit NES Version)Notes:Doop woop.Tags:Adler, Indy, Shiranui, Vayne & WeegeeWords:766[newclass=.benetbar]background-color:#050505; border: 2px solid #050505; border-radius: 5px; overflow: hidden; width: 100px; height:6px;[/newclass] [attr="class","benetbar"] [newclass=.benetbar]background-color:#050505; border: 2px solid #050505; border-radius: 5px; overflow: hidden; width: 100px; height:6px;[/newclass] [attr="class","benetbar"] As they traversed the plains to the marshlands, Adler and the others slowly began discussing their skill sets. When Adler first brought up her Fortuneteller skill, Capsule was doubtful. How could a subclass like that possibly help them? What was she going to do - read the monsters their fortunes from tea cups? The redhead suppressed the urge to snort at the Guardian's expense. That was more than a little rude and uncalled for, especially when the skill turned out to be useful - or seemed to be, anyway. It honestly sounded a little too good to be true, and was the kind of skill that patches would "nerf" for fairer game. 'But if it's not...man, what a skill!'
Next was Shira, whose skills she knew a little about, thanks to their first run in together. The Fox-tail would be joining her in the back as support; she pretty much had no choice. She knew that Shira's Carbuncle was capable of healing, but sadly did not know much about the Dancer subclass. She couldn't help smiling as she thought of Shira using her dancing to placate crowds of men instead of monsters, though there was hardly a difference when it came down to the finer details.
Next came Weegee, with a set of skills she was more familiar with, having worked to support many tanks just like him in the past. The Monk class was a very popular one, and the Scholar subclass was one she had considered combining with the Scribe crafting class. It would have saved her some trouble by making her own grimoires and maps, but she figured that potions were more important than offensive capabilities with her main class.
Of course, Weegee just had to single her out, as she had failed to say anything about her own classes and skills. "Oh, me?" She turned away, rubbing the back of her head in mild embarrassment. "Well, my skills aren't too spectacular...I can increase the effectiveness of physical attacks from weapons, bind enemies via shackles for a few seconds, cause disorientation and...control gravity? Well, Nightmare Sphere is good for stopping falls, but I don't know if we'll be needing it in the dungeon. As for subclasses…" She kicked at a stray rock, remembering that she had told no one of her shift from Courier to Animal Trainer, though Indy was the only one who knew what her previous class was. "You all know I'm a Pharmacist, but I'm also an Animal Trainer...that means I can temporarily control monsters to fight with us, but I haven't had a chance to try it yet." It could still come in handy in a pinch, though.
She trailed off as they edged closer and closer to the marshlands, and then Indy spoke up, like a true leader to this small band of social misfits. 'I wonder if he's just a good speaker or ran a company or something.' He couldn't be that much older than her (he didn't look it, at least), but with the way he carried himself, he might have actually inherited a family company or skipped through years of promotions to get a managerial job at a family run business. Sometimes she wanted to poke Indy, just to make sure he was real.
"You want all of the support to stick to the middle? Usually we're left in the back, but I see your point, I guess." It would, however, be inconvenient for Adler is she needed to get to the frontline. It would be like a trapped rabbit forced to scratch and tear its way through the dead bodies of its mates to get away from the poison gas leaking into their warren. "Eh, there are ambushes to think of…" She had a kukri recently made by an secretive blacksmith, but was still carrying a starter grimoire. The blade would serve her better in close combat, though she sincerely hoped it would not have to come to that.
The redhead silently fretted over her role as their terrain became muddy and uneven. This would be her first dungeon since the Catastrophe, so she was right to be nervous, but also rather excited. There was rare loot to be found in dungeons, though mats were what she was truly after. It would allow her to craft better quality armor or weapons - not that she really needed the latter that much. "Bleh," Capsule said as she freed one foot from what felt suspiciously like quicksand. "I don't usually mind dirt and muck, but I'd like to not have to worry about losing my shoes."

[attr="class","adler_post b"] [attr="class","aptype"]Adl&r, the Fortuneteller [attr="class","stats right"] Thread Type Private TrainingTagged Shiranui, WeegeeWrote 715 wordsShiranui’s ability to reduce aggression took a bit of weight off of Adler’s shoulders. If she or Weegee ever failed to keep all the monsters focused on them, then the Summoner could make it easier for the tanks to regain their attention. It would probably also benefit Capsule’s Animal Trainer subclass; he (or “she” as Capsule and Indy kept referring to him) could keep the monster calm while the Enchanter worked her magic. Capsule’s Enchanter skills made her feel more confident about the dungeon. Increase attack? Trip up monsters? Too bad she wasn’t a healer, but she was plenty useful as she was. Now Weegee’s skill was interesting. Since Scholar and Fortune Teller (when did it become two words?) were both roleplaying subclasses, one person couldn’t have both active at the same time. It would have been extremely useful if one could however. Imagine being able to plan your next target five minutes in advance. The two skills could also have been used in conjunction to survey an entire area’s monster populace while reducing the number of opponents one would have to take on to get the information and create a comprehensive encyclopedia. The best they could do as separate entities was probably to track down specific monsters they lacked data for and farm them until they had enough data to go by. Weegee could write the entries, Adler could provide the sketches. Teamwork! ‘And I have a new skill.’ She realized. Prophecy would give her partymates a small health bonus if she could correctly predict which skill an opponent could use in the next twenty seconds. With a cooldown time of forty seconds, she would probably be able to use the skill every minute or two, if she could remember to. It wouldn’t be much use today unless the monsters in the dungeon were that predictable though. She wondered if the others would be fine with it. No matter how she mulled it over in her head, she couldn’t think of a way to make it sound less tedious. Before they crossed zones into the Marshlands, Indy called a halt and gave them their marching orders. Rear Guard. Adler’s eyebrows knotted together in confusion, but she nodded. She had imagined using the skill to plan ahead and allow them to decide how best to tackle the monsters they’d face and in what order, but making sure they had an escape route made sense. She didn’t like it, but it was practical. As a Guardian, she wouldn’t have to nervously keep looking over her shoulder while they walked, since she probably had the highest defense in the group. “Fine by me.”Adler kept up her use of Prediction. More Grimy Swamp Snails were going to join the ones already relaxed around Possessed Stumps. Animated Sludge had her confused, until she read the name and realized that the ground actually was the monster. She also supposed she had the hardest time of everyone there. Not only were they wading in, well, muck, but she was clad in plate armor to boot. It was the beginner’s equipment she started the game with, but still. She had no plans of replacing her stuff; her kunai, shield, and armor were all still serviceable, and she remembered from the days when she still played as Bellona that she was always strapped for cash. Not this time.Though there was ground to walk on, there were times when their merry band had no choice but to let their boots sink into the shallow water, and getting wet and cold feet was turning Adler’s mood sour. When Indy suggested Shiranui take the lead, Adler was moderately cross. “Why didn’t you think of this sooner?” She complained loudly for the Fox-tail to hear her. She had fallen behind, assuming her position at the back of the formation just to get a feel for it. “I’m sorry.” She immediately followed up a bit more calmly, but the strain was still audible. “I keep thinking there might be leeches in here or something.” And if they crawled up and under her armor, she would have to expose herself to remove them. Adler recast Prediction and spotted something new. “Enraged Swamp Snails are going to spawn in the water soon. We need to move.
