| but somewhere here in between these city walls | It was a gorgeous day, one like many others. Dagger looked back on just how much work he had done since he finally came out from the apprenticeship of Mr. Monty. His level had grown, he had gotten some really nice new clothing, and now... now he just needed a new weapon and some new armor. For that, he would have to do some quests, so he rose from the warm bed he had been renting for the past few days now and got dressed. Tugging his cloak around his shoulders he headed out of the tavern, heading for one of the larger bulletin boards in town.
It was busy, much like any other morning. Landers and Adventurers alike bustling around with their daily lives. He reached the board with little hassle, looking over the quests one by one. Killing creatures in a dungeon, lumberjacks needed to clear an area for development and... the lats quest he looked over that he could possibly accomplish with his gear, requested aid at a farm just outside Londinium. Apparently a large number of slimes had recently invaded the farmers' fields and were devouring all the crops they managed to grow.
As a person from the same background, Dagger felt a strong desire to assist them as he took the quest from the board. Though he was probably a high enough level to take this on alone, he looked around the area, trying to see if anyone from his Guild might be around. Not seeing anyone in his immediate vicinity at the time, he gave a sigh.
'Probably too early', he thought, 'don't wanna wake 'em if'n they're sleepin' still.'
So, he decided to do the next best thing. Taking a deep breath he began walking around the area, asking folks that passed by if anyone was interested in teaming up for a small quest. | of dying dreams |

When they come for you, I will shield your name I will field their questions, I will feel your pain Koris may not have wanted too much danger in his life - at least for the time being - but there were two things that he was decidedly not; He was neither lazy nor was he content. New world or not, it was still one that required money and material goods to subsist upon, and frankly it was embarrassing to look like he was still an unskilled scrub years into the whole ordeal. He sighed, taking another look at his bare inventory and low level. Well, at least his clothes were nice.
Normally he made his livable income on fetch quests, odd jobs and the like… But to be frank, that was boring. He had a gun and he wanted to use it. That was another thing; the move from being nearly blind to perfect vision was a jarring one, and marksmanship required a good eye. There was, of course, only one way to get better at shooting, and that was to shoot things. Even if he wasn’t yet ready to tackle the big challenges, he would need to start small to even have a chance, right?
With that in mind he set forth, making his way to the quest board with a fresh goal to look forward to. It was a pretty long walk from the inn he was staying at to his destination, which was exactly how he liked it. He loved just making his way around town, taking in the intricate details of this bizarro London. It was all so familiar, and at the same time so different. If only he could have seen the true London the way he could see this one.
He wouldn’t be able to quite make it to the quest board in any case, as before he could reach his intended target he was set upon by a green-haired stranger. He’d spotted the man approaching others to no avail from a distance away, although he hadn’t then been able to make out what exactly he was approaching them for.
He had secretly hoped he wouldn’t be the next victim of what seemed from a distance to be a minor nuisance. However, now that it was him directly being accosted, he’d been told and had understood that this man - Daggerfel, Samurai, according to his user information - was looking for a partner to do a quest with. Perfect.
”A quest? As a matter of fact, that is exactly what I was in the market for, today…” He grinned rather widely, allowing the other the courtesy of a small bow, coupled with outstretched hand. “Koris. To whom do I owe the pleasure?" Obviously he could see the name, but it was only polite. Original Coding by Sayha of LH

| but somewhere here in between these city walls | Denial and denial was starting to wear down on Dagger as he was getting ready to simply go and do this himself. With a sigh he approached one last person. At first glance they seemed like they would have been too high of a level to accept, but as Dagger asked he found the person accepting and introducing themselves. Dagger's disheartened look quickly turned to a broad smile as he offered a hand to the introduction.
"Name's Dagger, an' the pleasure's all mine Koris. So, the quest itself's simple. A buncha slimes done took over a farm, and they need some help with the problem. Things're eatin' all the crops they can find which means lots a folk are gonna go hungry if it continues. Farm's this way, if'n you'll follah me."
Dagger gave a slight wave to motion Koris to follow him as he made his way through the town towards the east. He continued along with a decent pace, almost jogging his way to the edge of town.
"So, Koris. What kinda style ya play? I'm currently tryin' out the two-hander way, but thinkin' a tryin' somethin' new, ya know? Gotta love a world chock full a possibilities, eh?"
He gave a chuckle as he looked over his should at Koris. If his partner was lagging behind he'd make sure to turn his pace down to match theirs. He didn't have much to really talk about at the time, though once he knew about Koris's style of play he could at least formulate a few strategies to make sure they were able to finish this quest as quickly and cleanly as possible.
They'd easily make their way to the farm, a few farmers standing on the road nearby waving them down as they approached.
"Hey boys! You two here to help with our problems?"
Dagger gave a quick nod as he shook hands with the two farmers.
"Aye sirs, let's see this here problem ya got on y'er hands."
The two nodded and pointed the two Adventurers to the farmland behind their house.
"They're back that way, be careful, its a pretty large mess of them back there."
Dagger gave them a smile before looking at Koris as if to ask if he was ready, before walking around to the back of the farm house. What he saw there he honestly could never have expected. Multitudes of slimes covered the area, a few rather larger ones dotting the farmland here and there. Dagger ran a hand through his hair as he gave a whistle.
"Well tarnation... they really do got a problem here, huh. So, Koris. Whatcha thinkin' we should do? I can probably tank a purdy decent number of 'em if you think ya can handle the bigger portion a damage dealing."
He had several ideas on how they cold handle this, one of which would require a small amount of setup on Dagger's part, since he had come to learn a rather new and.... interesting skill. But, he wanted to hear his questing partner's ideas before he went... ham. | of dying dreams |
