I GET ALONG WITH THE VOICES INSIDE OF MY HEAD
A normal woodcrafter's day consisted of many things, from the simple tasks of measuring the wood to be used, cutting and shaping the pieces for a final production or as the case was now, roaming the woods in search of good wood to use. It had taken some time for him to get used to his newest strategy, and though many would highly question his 'build' and choice of skills, he had many good reasons for the choices. It was around noon, the sun high in the sky above him as he walked from tree to tree, leaning close to examine them.
"This forest contains a large number of trees that possess many variations of properties... Though the problem would be which is the best candidate for the few projects I might do sooner or later."
His monotone voice echoed among the trees, reaching far out in the silence around him. He was, while at the same time was not, speaking to himself as he marveled at the specimens.
"I mean, we do have a tendency of... well, wandering much further than we should and getting lost. Or, at the very least losing all sense of time."
His words were followed by silence around him, but a deeper, dark voice echoed within his own mind.
'Yeah, yeah. Anyways why don't we take several bundles of each type to store in the workshop? Might as well, since we're here and we need a reason to show back there eventually, right?'
Weegee nodded to himself before giving a sigh. He closed his eyes for a moment before tensing his whole body. An iron-colored sheen cascaded down his lanky form, seeming to change his exposed flesh into a dull metal. He blinked as he looked himself over, his face expressionless as he wiped a strand of hair from his eyes.
"Never do really get used to this skill... do we?"
He asked his inner voice as he brought his hand into the tree, slowly, but surely chopping down the tree.

Being new to the world around him, Kai took it upon himself to explore everywhere and attempt to venture into other towns. It so happens that in order to get to the nearest town, he would have to cross through this particular forest. The silence was peaceful yet it didn't put him at ease like he would normally think it would. "Guess it's my newb-ish anxiety kicking in." He laughed a bit before continuing his walk. He was an odd one as far as this game's mechanics were concerned: A brewer and a courtesan was odd enough, but he had a fire spell along with his swashbuckler class. Spellsword wasn't uncommon, but he wasn't even focused on that area, and mainly wanted the fire skill for its own practicality in a party or for lending to others who need it. He never used it in combat, so he used it more like a tool that he didn't have to carry around with him at all times. As he was walking towards the town on the other side of the forest, he heard a faint noise down deeper in the forest. A voice perhaps? Whatever the case, he decided to wait where he was, given that it's another person, he might be able to find directions into the town, or might find some other advice that could be provided by someone more experienced than him. Either way, unless it was a wild animal, he had something to gain by waiting and in the meantime he took one of his rapiers and sliced a small, thin "X" on a tree, indicating that he had been down here as he had been making a path to ensure that he wouldn't get lost along the way to town. "Guess I'll play the waiting game." He said, with a smile on his face as he put up his rapier after making his "X" locating marks.

••Glacis Rainmaker•• Adventure. That was the one word dominating the mind of a tired young Shaman tailor today. Work was all well and good, especially when needing to essentially start life over, but all of that focus tended to reach a rather frustrating end. Glacis had spent the past week or so drawing, which of course was something she liked to do. Filling her sketchbook, or in this case, loose pieces of paper stacked on the nightstand of her room in the inn, with various designs that she swore she would one day be able to bring to life with the upmost quality. However, all of that sitting around drawing could lead to stagnation, and this is absolutely what was happening in the young woman's life. She had found herself faced with a creativity block, preventing her from making any truly satisfactory designs. It was enough to make someone go stir crazy. So her mind went to the concept of adventure. Perhaps she just needed one of those. Maybe she just had to travel, or pick some fights with monsters, or go to any sort of social event, anything to switch things up a bit. Anything was better than staying cooped up in the room of the inn, leaving only to replenish he food supply. So what would this adventure be? Well, a walk through the woods seemed fair enough, it had been quite a while after all. And even back when she last went toward the Windsor Greatwood, she never really explored the forest much. She was just passing through to get to the flower glade. this time she would see what she could find in the woods themselves. Maybe even get some inspiration for her designs. Nature had been a big muse for her lately as it stood. It was decided. The fresh air away from the city would probably do the shaman some good, so why not take advantage of it? She left the room and the inn, still not wearing much other than her chainmail, simple blouse, and simple trousers, not yet changing her starter gear. As a Tailor, anything new she wore she would have rather made herself. It was all about the Practice, as well as the exposure whenever she did begin wearing her own designs. She also kept her staff out today, figuring that it would work quite well as a hiking stick or something of the sort. As she approached the forest, She looked for the best way in, some sort of natural path she could follow. It want too hard to find, but, dodging around trees and brush was sure not something that Glacis was used to. Still, it was part of the experience right? There was an interesting contrast to it all, the struggle of maneuvering through the woods in way that did not disturb the environment around her, paired with the beauty and reward of nature itself. Of course, maybe Glacis was just too deep into the mindset of an artist. After all, she was here to clear her mind so that she could start fresh again later. In travelling through the trees, she eventually noticed a strange marking on one of them. An 'X' carved into the bark. "What the..." Judging by the chips and splinters still hanging of of it, it was a very new marking too. One that the weather had not yet polished. Nearby, there was another, and another. The whole thing made Glacis glad she wasn't a Druid. As the young Shaman followed this trail, She started hearing some pounding, a rhythmic sort of pounding as if someone was using a tree as a punching bag or something. She wondered if that sound was where the 'X' marks lead. Of course, it was not long until she found out the truth, or at least part of it. She passed by a particularly thick tree trunk in time to see a man carving yet another 'X' into yet another tree with a thin sword before putting it away and... waiting, as opposed to moving on as Glacis expected he would, going by the trail of defaced plants. "Well, I suppose that's one mystery solved." She said aloud with a sigh. This man was not the source of the pounding, but he was indeed the source of he carvings. "I guess that means I've got one to go..." she looked toward the noise in thought, before turning back to the rapier man with a smile. "You know, you could make some tree huggers really angry like that."••Words•• Post: 759

The young Swashbuckler turned around as he heard a voice and scanned the person up and down and began to laugh at their comment. "You're pretty funny, lass." He said with a silly grin on his face before extending his hand now that he had sheathed his blades before saying. "The name is Kaizoku , but you can call me Kai." After extending his hand and waiting for her to shake, he proceeded to tell the lass why he had been adventuring through the forest and why he had began carving X's all across the path he had made. "As you see, I'm pretty new around here. Nothing to my name except these blades, 50 gold pieces, and the cloth on my hide, or rather the cloth on my back. As you pointed out, amongst the angry hippies and druids I may tick off because of it, I made small marks on the trees so that I don't get lost if I need to come back for any reason. That being said, I was trying to reach the next town and was hoping to find someone that knows their way around. Who knows, maybe I'd find one of those piszed off druids roaming around that would be glad to get me out of here, eh?" He laughed at his own dry humor, with the silly expression on his face before continuing his train of though. "At any rate, that was the initial plan, but then I heard a noise in the distance and figured I'd check it out or wait for them to come to me. After all, from this spot I can see a faint path and my path that I could go back if no one ever did come my way. Wasn't too worried about waiting til nightfall since I do have a small fire spell that could work like a lantern and guide my way back using the glow from my flame. I was bound to find someone to help me along the way if I waited patiently, so I took the time to just relax for a bit, but the more I wait, the more curious I am about what that noise in the distance is. It almost sounds like a chopping sound, so at least whatever druid would find me and get me out, they'd be more piszed off at the other chap!" Another chuckle or two comes from the Swashbuckler before looking back at the young Monk and saying "Sorry if I'm rambling, I can be long winded at times. So, what's a fair lady like you wandering the forest alone? You don't look lost. Are you looking for something in particular, or just stopped by to inform me of my crimes against nature?" His smile still apparent. Even while being a bit of a smart alec, he was always pretty fair-natured and upbeat even if his own jokes seemed (a)corny to him at times *(He rolled his eyes as his own train of thought made a dang acorn joke.)* "At any rate, what's your name? And do you want to go check out said noise together? I figure two people looking together is better than either of us wandering into trouble on our own. Plus, I could always use the company of another- particularly one whom is easy on the eyes." He winked and stuck his tongue, being playful just to show he was joking and not meaning anything by it. I GET ALONG WITH THE VOICES INSIDE OF MY HEAD
Halfway through the tree's cutting, his ears twitched at a noise much out of place within the forest. His own attacks upon the tree he was cutting down had a rather rhythmic drone to them, a steady sort of chop-pause-chop. This new sound seemed to be a person's voice, which meant that he was no longer alone in the only sense he could be. He gave a sigh as he stopped chipping at the tree and gave thought to the direction of the voices. It wasn't hard to find, as the more, masculine voice spoke for a much longer time. A sick smile spread over his face before he snapped back to his placid expression.
"No Zeek, we are not doing that. This tree is easy to find and they are not terribly far away. Stay quiet and I will speak with them."
He spoke to himself, a quiet whisper as he turned to face the direction of the voices, his fox ears twitching as he discerned the right way to go. He quickly leaped into the trees above him, hands tucked into the pockets of his white leather trench coat, his lanky form quickly and dexterously weaving through the branches of the canopy before he landed unceremoniously behind the two conversing individuals. He gave a light tug on the scarf that was carefully wrapped around his neck, looking back and forth between the male and the female before him, then at the X mark carved into the tree closest to them.
"It may come to surprise you, but this world heals at a faster rate than the real world ever would."
He placed a hand on the X mark, running a finger along the groove of the cut as he continued.
"A simple, shallow cut like this would take a single day to heal, leaving you lose deeper into these woods than anyone your level would like to be. Especially considering your modes of travel."
He stared at the man, who was obviously armed with the blade that made these kinds of cuts. His placid expression and monotone voice betrayed no emotion, though he meant no harm, his words and stare might give off an ominous feeling.
"Aside from traversing the Windsor Woods unprepared... what brings you two my way?"
He tilted his head questioningly as he looked between the two, sizing them both up. The male, a Swashbuckler as the system said was by far the weakest here. Weegee himself was by no means a powerful Monk, but compared to this guy and the female Shaman, he was the strongest in the immediate area.

••Glacis Rainmaker•• Kaizoku. Alright, another name and face to add to the network. Meeting people was such a joy. Kai was a tall, though not too much taller than Glacis herself, red headed male with blue eyes that seemed excited enough to match his goofy grin as he began to Ramble on. And ramble he did. He had first held out his hand with his own introduction, which Glacis was happy to return. She took his outstretched hand in a firm shake and revealed he name with a friendly smile. "Very nice to meet you, Kai. My name is Glacis, Glacis Rainmaker." It was then that the man began his story. His reason for defiling trees was simple. He didn't want to get lost. This was a reason that made total sense and honestly, Glacis kind of figured. Still, it was fascinating how the man could say something so simple with about a million words, though his monologue also seemed to include the same audible discovery as the shaman herself, that being the rhythmic pounding off in the distance. However, said pounding had stopped just as Kai had offered to help find the source, and before Glacis knew it, they were joined by a brand new face. This newcomer was the source of the noise, at least that is what the young woman chose to assume. he was tall and skinny, with a long scar on his face that Glacis could not quite see the other end of. Compared to the bubbly Personality that was Kai, this guy seemed very very creepy, very plain with his empty expression. It was almost intimidating, and Glacis had to take a brief pause to process that this man, too, was a human being. At least he was, in another life. She had no current reason to be startled. He continued Kai's answer to Glacis' ...concern? it wasn't quite a concern more than it was a joking comment, really. Either way the lanky fox tail man responded, saying the trees in this world would heal more quickly than they would have in the old world. The young Shaman internally questioned for a bit how any "healing" process would work on the trunk of any tree, but hey, she was no expert and this world was full of wonders, so she decided to just accept it. That said, it was a bit harder to accept the man's next choice of words, sort of... underestimating the group's low levels. It was a fair observation, which is why Glacis chose not to engage, but it was not one that was very appreciated, for sure. Though Glacis did not want to respond to the man's rudeness, she had no issues with answering his question. She approached him with an outstretched hand. "As for me, hi I'm Glacis how're ya doin', I just wanted to explore a bit. Being unprepared is part of the adventure, right?" She smiled an absolutely sincere smile, though she could not hold back nor deny a hint of wit and bark hidden within her last sentence. ••Words•• Post: 510
