Jolt. And now awake. It wasn't like waking up from sleeping, it was more like suddenly being aware that you were daydreaming after having thought of nothing for a short while. Staring at the computer screen tended to do that to Ruby. Probably why she doesn't spend much time on the computer. She knows how it works and little bits and pieces to satisfy her curiosity. Charlie was always better at that kind of stuff. Ahh, he should be getting off work soon. Then they can play the game together.
She lifted her left hand up to check her watch, only to see a bare left hand. Did she take her watch off when she got home? Wait, she wasn't in her apartment. And she swore she was just sitting down. She jumped a bit at the sudden realization that her legs were holding her upright. She looked down at the heavily overgrown and decrepit road surface she was standing on, with bits of trampled weeds and moss embedded in the cracks of cobbled and crumbled asphalt that looked decades old. Her eyes caught the heavy leather outfit donned on her body that reminded her of something, but she knew for certain she never put anything like this on herself before. While looking down, strands of silvery white hair drifted into her peripheral instead of her autumn red locks. Lifting her hands to her hair, she held the strands between her fingers and felt their texture. Much rougher than what her hair should have been. It was a miracle hair this rough was straight at all.
Ruby took a few steps forward and the sounds of yelling echoed in the area she found herself in. More than a few people had started shouting about something, but that wasn't what was on her mind. They were so loud! She clutched the sides of her head to stop the sound from hitting her eardrums, but what she felt were rough, hair-covered flaps of skin that pressed against where her human ears should have been, but were strikingly lacking any human feeling to them.
More yelling. She looked around her and walked a bit further from everyone else to stop the sound. She rested her butt against the remains of a stone fence separating the plaza she had found herself in from a small overgrown park. But something got in her butt's way as she had rested against the stone. A sharp pain radiated from her backside and she jumped back forward, grabbing behind her for whatever it was. Attached to her backside, and protruding through a modest slit in the armor she was wearing, was a hair-covered appendage that felt like the tail of a dog. But she doesn't recall ever having a tail. That would be a fairly obvious thing she wouldn't have missed in her 22 years of life. She looked at her hips to get a peek at the tail and saw wooden rods of something attached to a belt at her waist. She grabbed the end of one of the rods and lifted it out of whatever holder it was in and the shine of sunlight off the metal end of a weapon met her eyes. She winced, adjusted her grip, and her Elder Tale game character looked at her with amber eyes from the reflection off the flat of the spear blade.

For some reason Spade’s came to self-awareness in a black chasm, he could not move nor could he make a sound. With a bit of mental struggle he thought he saw light, to his horror though the brighter the light got the less he was able to breath. At first the light was small and he had slight difficulty but not enough to warrant the worry of death, the light’s rate of expansion increased and with that Spades’ ability to breath fell to almost zero. By the time that no air was entering Spades lungs the light was blinding and no traces of dark were left in his sight, finally with a great gasp for air Spades awake and immediately sat up breathing heavily taking in as much air as he could as if he nearly drowned. Spades looked to his right to make sure his abode was not broken in to by a random schmuck getting cocky but to his confusion his night stand was not there, even more than that his normal room was not there either; it was just destroyed buildings followed by overgrown grass. Starting to panic and immediately think he got snatched, Spades jumped with a start but fell over and hit his head almost immediately. Now with a sore headache the confused man looked down at his feet in fear that someone rendered Spades unable to walk and more importantly escape. His heart sank when he could not see his normal brown skinned feet, the man slowly reached towards his feet with shaky hands in anticipation of feeling stumps at the end of his legs. To his surprise he did not feel stumps indicating a missing limb but rather a foot like that of a cat, Spades was then shocked of this finding and began to feel more of his legs in an attempt to understand how different his feet were than normal. He was feeling closely to see the extent someone would go to mess with him like this, there were no scars and also no stitches indicating that this was surgically done. He slapped himself a few times to see if he was dreaming still or he wasn’t in the right mind, not only did his face kinda hurt but he was still in control like there was nothing wrong. “ Get yourself together, this has to be some kind of elaborate j-” before he could finish he looked at his hands and saw that they were covered in black fur. Finally reaching past the point of panic Spades simply let out a yell. It joined in on the sounds of panic laid through out the area, with his initial panic out the way Spades was still not in his normal state of mind . He needed to get out of the area to reach a safe spot for him to mentally gather himself but his next issue at hand was to deal with the obvious shift in weight, stance, and body make up. Spades only thought was to leave the area, appearance or not he was going to leave; he did the one thing he has not done since he was a child: crawl. With a quickened pace Spades got on all fours and crawled to the place closest to him with some cover and that happened to be what appeared to be a park. Once he reached there with no trouble he saw something else that freaked him out enough to yell, he saw a woman with a tail and large canine ears on their head. In his mistaken first impression he thought it was a hostile target looking to kill and consume weakened prey, maybe it was the ears and the tail or it could have been Spades panicked state but he just simply looked at the woman and froze in his tracks. Out in the open it was simply a large black cat on his hands and knees staring at woman with wolf like characteristics. With the spear in hand, after confirming her facial appearance, Ruby rest the blade of the spear against her arm. She lightly pressed the blade into the skin and recoiled the blade at the pain. A small trickle of blood dripped down her arm and fell onto the ground below. "Okay then, so not a dream..." she mumbled. She casually licked the iron taste of the blood and the scratch formed a thin clot to stop the bleeding after a few licks. Licks? Why did she do that? She shook her head, the flaps of skin jutting out of her head flapping about as well.
She lifted the spear up to get another look at it. It was at least 3 foot long with a 4 inch spear head on the tip, bound to the old wood with twine. A thin line of red from her blood reflected lightly off the edge. She brushed the spear head against the grassy ground and returned it to the sheathe on her waist. The sheathe seemed like a modified sword sheathe now meant to carry her spear. She turned and saw the other spear in a sheathe on her left waist.
Her attention was brought back to the extra appendage sticking out of her backside. She turned to reach for it, but it had a mind of its own and moved out of her grip. She turned faster to try to grab it, and it avoided her hand again. She started spinning in a circle a few times before she stopped. A disgusted look appeared on her face, ears turned back in anger, she violently kicked the stone fence. "I AM NOT A DOG!" A large stone brick broke off of the fence and landed on the other side with a thud. She started seething though her teeth with deep breaths before her vision caught sight of something inside the park.
Ruby's eyes outlined an odd figure. He had the body of a human, but with distinct cat characteristics. Specifically the furry cat face and the digitigrade cat feet. She also took note of the lack of a tail on the cat-man laying on the ground on his knees and hands. She was now no longer so sorry for herself. At least she could still stand and walk normally. She couldn't imagine being forced to walk on her tip-toes all the time like this poor cat-man has to do.
Her curiosity was piqued. She wanted to know more about this man. Maybe he will know what was going on? Erm, but he looks quite afraid... Probably not best to approach him until he calms down? Or maybe it's just better if Ruby leaves. But at the same time, she didn't want to leave him like that.
Ruby turned around and looked at the skyline. In the distance the tower of Big Ben jutted above a building. Though decrepit, the landmark was unmistakable. "OOOOOOH! I've never been to London before!" She turned to the cat-man and flashed a smile, her wolf-like ears twitching up at the same time, completely involuntary. "Heeey, cat-man. Want to come exploring with me?" It took a lot of her will to ask the cat-man to join her. Usually she would just mind her own business, but this was some extraordinary circumstance and she didn't want to be alone in this.

Guardian - Cavalier - Blacksmith ____________________________________________________ Mossy residue imprinted itself across Saskia's cheek as she began drooling on the cobblestone, nestled atop a bed of flowers. The static chatter that surrounded her caused a disruption that made her uneasy. "Jeffrey, will you please go out there and tell my fans I'm not doing autographs today and to please leave..." She muttered in a snobby and annoyed voice as she rolled over unto her side. However, no charming butler would respond and the noise would continue.
Saskia sat up in a disgruntled gesture and called out once more to her paid servant. "Jeffrey...?" However, while looking around, she found herself in foreign territory near a strange panther like character. "Oh, bloody hell, I've been kidnapped! Jeffrey! They're trying to feed me to a tiger or lion or something!" Saskia exclaimed in a panic as she scattered backwards into a rock.
As her poorly crafted platemail crashed against the boulder, she felt the padded insides of her armor and blinked awkwardly at it.
"Oh hell, what happened...did I get roofied and taken to one of those anime conventions?" Saskia said in a pained expression as she looked up and noticed a woman with cat ears and a tail talking to this cat-person-thing that seemed to be talking.
"Wait...so it's just a costume?" Saskia blinked as she inspected the two. She then examined her own gear, noticing the great shield and spear at her sides. "This doesn't make any sense...it's like a weird renaissance festival...How did I even get here...?"
Saskia started looking around the area, overhearing the woman with the cat ears. "Oh you've got to be taking a piss. This is London? ....why does it look all messed up...does anyone know what's going- Agh!" Saskia accidentally stepped on her own tail as she approached the two.
"Oh, I am seriously bugging out.." Saskia exclaimed in her british accent as the Londonian popstar rubbed her temple. "I'm starting to feel like Alice in bloody wonderland, mate..."

Spades’s fear was unfounded when the girl with the canine ears and tail simply asked him a question of exploration. Spades mind restarted and went back to a semi normal state, he looked down in shame at his current position with his ears also down to reflect so. In a deep breath Spades attempted to raise himself to his feet once more despite him missing ankles that touched the ground, his knees were wobbling but he was able to stand at least without falling over immediately. Spades looked at the canine like girl and pondered for a few seconds what he would do as his next step, his only issue with the entire thing was that he was so out of place that he could not even attempt to fight back if it called for him to do so. But to be honest with himself she could have easily finished him off with a quick blade to a vital spot and been about her day, he was stuck either way so Spades had no choice but to accept her request. Spades still could only stand and he had trouble with that so without much hesitation after coming to his conclusion he responded with, “ I will go with you, but can you give me your shoulder. I can’t walk right now.” He knew that due to their size difference all if his weight would be on this woman but to comply with her request she had to help him walk until he got used to his new body. Ruby hopped the stone fence and ran up next to the cat-man who was barely able to stand. "No worries~ I'll be your legs for now." She strode up to his left side and wrapped her right arm around his waist to help support him. She pulled her hair up over her left shoulder to allow him drape his arm over her shoulder. When he did, she held his wrist with her left hand so he wouldn't slip and fall easily. "Just lean onto me as much as you need to. You don't actually feel all that heavy." She gripped his waist a bit more and felt his body through his cloth armor. Under the clothes she felt something like a soft padding. It reminded her of when they forced her family dog to wear a sweater one year for Christmas photos. Soft fur under clothes and under that was a hard layer of muscle. She wondered if the muscle would show through his fur if he took his shirt off...
She shook her head to get her mind back on track from the distraction, ears flopping. She hoped she would get used to these ears.
Ruby took the first few steps, keeping things slow so the cat-man could find his footing. Gradually they picked up speed to typical walking speed. They stepped through a gap in the stone fence and were back onto the broken up road.
Ruby was about to walk in the direction she came from, but she saw swords being swung, magic spells being cast, and heard a lot of shouting. "Ahh, hell. E-everybody's fighting now..." She swallowed hard, nerves on end. As if things weren't bad enough, now people are rioting. Please don't kill each other at least...
Whelp, time to go the other way. Shame cus she wanted to see Big Ben up close. Hopefully things calm down... eventually. If things escalate, she's the only one who can reasonably fight, even though she's never fought anything before in her life. Cat-man was unarmed. She was wearing leather armor, while he was wearing just heavy cloth. She didn't want to think about it, but if the riot spreads and they are caught in it, she might have to abandon him and run. She was now taking extra care to take in her surroundings. It was at this time of surveying that she finally took notice of a woman in heavy plate armor with a shield and spear. She had ears similar to Ruby's, but they were shaped a bit differently and tinged pink instead of white. And her tail seemed longer than Ruby's because she tripped over it. Ruby was suddenly glad she was modest on the tail slider in the character creation and hers stops short of the back of her knees. She didn't need another problem on her growing list of problems. It's already starting to fill up. She might need to use the back of the paper. Hopefully she doesn't run out of ink.
The woman was much more equipped to fight than Ruby was. So best to ignore her. Lalala, saw nothing. Please leave us alone...
Walking away from the woman and the riots, Ruby spoke up to the cat-man. "My name's Ruby Mason. U-uhm, I don't suppose you know what's going on, do you?"
Skills Used: n/a | Tags: Spades , Saskia | NOTES: I've been using Ruby's name intentionally through the RP so far since she hasn't seen the UI yet. And since she isn't a gamer, she didn't feel the need to start calling herself by her character name or omit her last name in her introduction. Just throwing that out there.
Also, sorry, Saskia. Got to stay in character a little bit. And you got to admit a woman in full plate and a spear is a little menacing. Throwing some tension into the interactions a bit~

Guardian - Cavalier - Blacksmith ____________________________________________________ Saskia watched in bewilderment as the massive feline seemed to have trouble standing up. It was an almost painful thing to watch, like watching a paraplegic who fell out of his wheelchair attempt to get up. She watched with a grim expression as the feline begged for the other woman to help him. Saskia felt a sensation of disgust at the weird creature she never met before. She wasn't very fond of cats as it was, unless they were cute kittens. However, a muscular cat man was far from Saskia's notion of cute.
She grimaced as the woman with the perky ears and tail easily obliged. What shocked Saskia was that the woman seemed fairly strong to be lifting someone much larger than she was. She wondered where they might be headed and decided to follow until she could find a safe place with normal civilization, hopefully natural humans without strange features.
However, the violent uproar would erupt as chaos spread throughout the area and civil unrest became all out warfare. Saskia witnessed as armed men were set ablaze and arrows pierced virgin skin.
In a panic, Saskia screamed. "Everybody's gone off their rocker! Somebody call the police!"
As Saskia looked back to the two others, she saw that the duo had already begun to ditch her. However, the angry mob was starting to spread their fight out even closer.
"He-hey wait...don't leave me...your friend, is he hurt? We need to get him to the hospital!" Saskia yelled out as she jogged over towards them, hoping they wouldn't abandon her.
Her eyes darted back to notice a dwarf get run through with a sword.
"Oh God..." Saskia cried out as she looked at the other in distress.

Spades’ condition was accepted by the woman and she moved to his left side to help him stand. The moment she came in contact with Spades he jumped a little at the odd feeling of fur touching his clothes, ‘this what she was talking about when she called me a cat-man, I guess I’m a half cat hybrid from now on’ silently resigning himself to his new body Spades began the process of learning to walk once more while being carried. It took him a few tries of attempting to stand on his own and tripping but thankfully he was being carried by the girl so he didn’t hit the ground, after some time he was able to, with assistance still, advance at normal walking speed. Since she invited him to go exploring in god knows where, she was leading him along. They went through what appeared to be a stone entrance to the area they were at and approached a broken road. It looked like she was going to go down the road to see the place but the sound of fighting stopped her cold and made Spades snap out of his confused state and tense up to respond to the sudden developments in his surroundings. The woman was starting to show worry about the people yelling and doing whatever idiots do when they have the chance to break laws without repercussion, he was about to give her a few "friendly" words of advice but it was unfounded and she already turned to go in another direction. While they were preferably headed to where there were no groups of people Spades and the girl saw another person who had the same kind of ears and tail as the one carrying Spades. The woman decided to ignore the heavily armored person and they kept traveling to safety, thankfully as well she introduced herself as ruby. About to remark on how her name relates to a precious gem and the bad memories associated with it the woman they saw from earlier rushed to the two and began to follow them or rather join the two in where ever they were going at the same time though she was spouting nonsense about him being injured. Spades was within seconds of swinging for her vitals when he noticed she looked back and winced like she saw a person getting killed, looking back he was slightly surprised about the fact that it was a little man getting ran through with a fantasy sword; it was then that Spades knew that she joined them out of the need to be in a group for safety and whats more she has less chance of being betrayed if one of them is injured. Maybe it was because that they were suddenly in a new and weird place or rather their inhibitions were completely gone but looking past the now dying little man he saw the regular outings of a deadly riot. “Ask me if I need a hospital and you’ll be the next one kicking the bucket”, Spades said in annoyance totally forgetting the fact that he was being carried by a person that may not share his same insights as they do. At that comment he was able to figure out how his new feet worked and the lack of his ankles was no longer an issue, he used his left hand to tap Ruby on her waist to signify he’s good and stood up on his own. He kinda lost balance but he recovered quickly enough, taking timid steps at first he quickly was able to walk without trouble and unaided. Finally able to stand on his own he turned to the two girls and spoke again, “ Alright so now we are in a rather [redacted] situation, I don’t know about you two but I don’t feel like dying today when. So now the plan will be to get the [Redacted] out of here before we get caught up in here. Ruby if this was a time to ever explore in the other direction it would be now, like so…” at the time he said no he turned and began walking away from the sound as quickly as he could, it’s barely a walking pace but he’s making due, thanks to the riot starting to unfold around them he had a good feeling they would follow him as he was walking towards the forest and hopefully away from the idiots. It concerned Ruby a bit when the heavily armored girl started following them, but her voice was more frightened of the happenings than hostile. Ruby's thoughts were slowly starting to clear and it was only then that she realized that she might not have been the only one brought into her game character's body like this. Well, that should have been obvious with Cat-man not being able to stand on his own. If you were born as a cat-man, you would think by the time you were an adult you would know how to walk. Why didn't it cross her mind earlier that she might not be the only one? The riot seems... slightly more reasonable now.
While walking with Cat-man, Ruby got to thinking more about what could be different with her body now. Aside from the obvious, was there another surprise in store for her? No, stop. One thing at a time right now.
She heard Cat-man talk back annoyedingly at the girl following them. What did she say? Ruby wasn't paying attention to her. Ruby felt the cat-man prod her. She turned her head up. He was trying to stand on his own now? Was that really a good idea? Well, just to make sure he doesn't fall flat on his face, it would be good for her to stick by him, right? She let go of his waist and arm to let him stand on his own. He almost stumbled, Ruby jumped and was about to catch him when he righted himself on his own. He walked forward a bit, Ruby right on his heel, before he turned around and she took a step back.
She listened to his words and didn't think on them too much before following behind him. "L-lead the way~ I-I'll watch our back." She pulled out one of her spears and held it with the tip angled toward the ground in her left hand. She fumbled with it a bit before she held the wood of the 3 foot long spear about a third of the way from the bottom. She walked close enough to the cat-man so that she could rush in and catch him if he was about to fall, but far enough to not be awkwardly close to him. She kept one eye on him and another behind them, also keeping the pink armored girl in view.

Guardian - Cavalier - Blacksmith ____________________________________________________A sensation of annoyance and fear made Saskia wince as the black werecat seemed that seemed to be lacking proper motor skills threatened her. She didn't know why the person as so easily agitated and seemed to be having anger issues. In this calamity it seemed that everyone was becoming more and more irrational and ruthless by the minute. Though, Saskia wasn't much for confrontation, she didn't tolerate such disrespectful words. She also felt a boost of confidence in at least noticing that the werecat didn't seem to be too heavily armed whereas she was.
Given her background of being domestically abused, she had a big problem with men trying to be violent towards her so she reacted with an aggressive response.
"Hey, I was just trying to help. You could have been hurt. There's no reason to be making threats on my life. I'm not trying to fight anyone here, but if I have to, I will!" She stated firmly.
Saskia looked back to notice that their seemed to be rugged looking guards that seemed to phase in from nowhere and were adorned in royal looking armor. They then began to neutralize enemies with their sharp lances and then she noticed what looked like a fox like humanoid shatter into nonexistance.
Others attempted to fight off the royal guard, but they could barely make a dent in their armor as they were struck down by archers upon the rooftops.
Saskia fell back on her bottom as she cowered away in a crawl.
"W..what the hell is this?" Saskia's bottom lip quiver. " People are dying! We've got to go! Now!"
It seemed that the werecat was already ahead of her as he began limping off on his own. The other wolf hair seemed avid on following the violent furball, which made absolutely no sense to Saskia. However, she figured it wuld be better not to travel alone in all the chaos, even with such an odd bunch as themselves. Also if matters got worse, perhaps she could use the cripple as bait and the rioters would attack him first and buy her time to bail.
"What is this place....it's like London, but it's not....this is too weird."

Spades stopped the moment that the pink haired dog woman gave him more sass, he was about to step into her face to call her bluff on defending herself when she turned around and like a fool looked at more people being stupid. It was obvious she was not used to the situation as well as Spades but even still this would be her 2nd time that she reacted in such a way to this going on, looking at Ruby she also not in her element but at the very least she was on her feet; and thanks to Spades pride and her helping him he would rather her not get disposed of while he is nearby. Still looking at Ruby quickly scanning her surroundings to be sure of any surprises from others thinking them to be easy targets gave Spades the impression that if he doesn’t get Ruby to a safe location then she will also break down and be rendered defenseless, turning towards the woman that was now crawling backwards from the sight. Spades looked up to see what she was looking at that made her show a disgraceful sight, seeing what she saw he gave her some slack due to the complete chaos that was ensuing in his eyes; Spades didn’t think that he would ever see things that were more gruesome than he saw in life but he will admit that this was easily topping it and then some. There were numerous giant floating medieval warriors swinging and firing their weapons and after each time one of them were swung or shot there was an accompanied scream of agony, what was even more horrifying to Spades was that they did it like they were cutting weeds; and even with all their actions the rioting never stopped, there were just too many of them to properly contain their action. Not wanting to be caught up in that mayhem for one moment Spades looked down at the woman and roughly grabbing her by the back of her neck and squeezing he pulled her to her feet and pushed her so that she was in the front of the pair but within Spades reach. “Each time you fall I’m going to use my foot as encouragement to get you back up, do it enough times and I’m tossing you for the wolves and leaving.”, giving his warning to help make sure that she won’t be extra baggage Spades continued to limp slightly getting even more control of his legs; he was hoping that he would not have to actually kick her since the chances were that if Spades tried to kick her he would fall over and he doesn’t think he can get back up quickly enough to have a decent guard. He turned to Ruby and spoke in a short way, “People call me Mac, you need some sort of way of getting my attention if you’re going to be watching our back. I’m depending on you for this.” He’s not sure if it did the trick or she was playing along to catch him off guard later but she didn’t break down for the past few times that they walked by a scene of carnage, thankfully by this time Spades basically had mastered his new feet. He barely stumbled every 100m or so and he was even able to open his stride and walk faster even. The trio stopped walking on broken roads and was now walking on brick roads that seemed more recent and cared for, as an added bonus there were people with wooden carts leaving walking this same path as well as some others that were traveling with what looked like to be their family; it made Spades nervous that they were walking in a path that was pretty devoid of people to one that was decently crowded, his black fur standing on end and ears twitching constantly to show his agitation. And to confirm Spades nervousness a woman's scream was heard behind them somewhere in the group and all the people resounded with their own screams and charged forward with what ever was important to them whether it be their carts, families, children and gold. Spades turned to see what was going on and he was completely shocked at the sight. It was a large amount people with their weapons drawn and they were swinging their weapons and firing what looked to be fire and water and rocks at each other, this was also followed by the giant warriors who was eliminating anyone that had their weapons drawn. Spades shook his head to focus himself and looked back at Ruby and then back at the oncoming chaos he took a deep breath ran over to Ruby's spot and picked her up and placed her over his shoulder. Spades then ran to where he left the woman and pink and yanked horizontally at her armor in hopes that she got the signal to run, not sure where they were within the area he just chose to play it safe and try to catch up to the wooden carts and grab on so they don’t have to worry about getting lost either within the city or within the riots. With a weapon in hand, it made Ruby feel safer. But there was the problem that she had no idea how to use it. And if she needed to use it to end a life to save her own, she wasn't even sure she could. She was scanning all of the street corners they passed by and walked a bit sideways so she could still look behind them. She saw the floating armored behemoths appear from thin air as soon as the pink woman fell over. Since this was a minute or two after she cried about someone calling the police, Ruby smirked a bit. "You said someone call the police. I think those are what serves as police here." She said, pointing her spear at the crowd. Though she never meant it, her voice was going up and down in volume randomly. Her stomach in knots. One would have to be a machine to stay calm in this circumstance. But the fact that the armored behemoths left no bodies probably helped to keep Ruby from being paralyzed in fear. This world was so unnatural. She was on the precipice of fear and wonder. She wanted to go over there and see these behemoths up close. Was there someone inside? What made them tick? How do they float? What's their armor made of? It looks pretty. Does the sun still shine off armor that dark?
She was spooked back to reality when the cat-man managed to pull the pink woman back to her feet. He threatened to kick her. Can I kick her, too? A random thought floated in her head. She shook her head, trying to clear it and figure out where that kind of thought came from. She turned to face the cat-man as he spoke. "Yesh!" She bit her tongue. "You can count on me!" She pulled out the other short spear from its sheath and held it in her other hand while walking behind the two. The cat-man, or Mac, seemed to be getting a better grasp of walking on his kitty feet. Though, would he even be able to kick her with this feet? Probably wouldn't be too comfortable kicking a girl in full plate armor. Yes! If he can't kick her, then I will. She shook her head again, ears flopping about. She almost forgot about those for a sec. She sighed and returned to walking behind him a good five or six feet away.
They continued for a good ways, it seemed, before the roads changed and the general air of the area seemed more full of life. Ruby's attention was brought forward with the various shops and people moving about on their daily lives, oblivious to anything different. As if they had always been here and weren't suddenly pulled into another world. It looked kinda pleasant. Kind of like the medieval fair her father drug her to one time when she was young. It had the same air about it, but the weather is clear. A chill rolled down her spine, reminding her the time of year. Today was Valentine's day... Hmmmmmm, did Charlie get pulled into this, too?
Her thoughts were interrupted by a scream. She turned around and saw the scene of a nightmare. Lunatics shouting and swinging weapons with the floating armored behemoths giving chase. Is this what a medieval police chase was like? Except without the floating people, the elves, animal people, and magic staffs? The dwarves probably didn't have the stride to keep up and were already killed. "M-MAC!" Her voice was a whisper at first, then a half scream. She started backing up, spears raised in self-defense. Not pointed out to attack, but crossed in front of her in preparation to defend. There was no need to, though, because she felt her feet leave the ground and a shoulder dig into her belly. She looked down to see his back and his tail-less behind. "Wh-what are you doing?! I have legs!" She felt a hand where it shouldn't have been. "And watch where you're grabbing!" She still had her spears in hand and was tempted to stab him. But she opted to just prod his back with the butt of her spear.
Ruby watched as the people from before were fleeing the scene of the incoming medieval police chase. A few unlucky vendors were hit by stray magicks. They didn't turn into particles, though. They just laid there on the ground, unmoving.
Ruby's vision shifted and she turned to see Mac jump into a large wooden cart with her still over his shoulders. The cart was mostly empty. Just some empty sacks and crates. Ruby squirmed a bit to get off of Mac's shoulder, prodding the back of his furry head this time for him to get the message and let her down. She crouched a bit before falling to her butt in the cart. The cart rocked violently as the horses pulling were running as fast as whoever was driving it would allow. It's possible they didn't see or hear a group of two, thud, three random people jump on.
Ruby looked out the back to see more fighting, but no one was running anymore. The floating behemoths seemed to have things contained in this area to the stalls. The cart rocked as it hit the cobbled stone of the bridge they were on. Ruby sighed and let her body collapse backward, head hitting an empty grain sack. Her spears fell to either side of her. She just stared at the sky above. "Don't get this many bright sunny days in Britain. We must really be in another world," she said absentmindedly.

Samurai - Rōnin - Swordsmith ____________________________________________________ It was just a hour after Evelyn entered the world of Elder Tales. During that short time, she realised what was the reality she was thrown into, as well as witnessing the riots starting all over the city. It was an interesting sight to see. Cultivated humans turning into animals Because of such simple problem, like being thrown into another world.
"How can they forget who they are like this and start fighting among themselves... ridiculous..." She mumbled to herself as she looked over the crowd which was killing itself while the Royal Guardians massacred it from the sides, sending dying adventurers flying into the air before they disappeared in the form of particles. One of her fox ears was lowered to side in an irritated way twitching lightly from time to time. With a disgusted expression Evelyn left the area, walking away from the riot, checking her equipment as she walked.
The starter chain-mail armour offered just very little protection, and at her side, two starter katana were resting. From the first look she gave them, they looked at least balanced, though the iron seemed cheap. Well, that's starter equipment for you Evelyn... she thought to herself. Suddenly she spotted a strange group in front of her.
A large werecat and two women with wolf ears were in front of her, the werecat yanking at the pink haired woman's armour before running over to a nearby cart together with the red-orange haired wolf hair girl. With a sigh, Evelyn rushed forward, taking the confused pink haired girl in her hands, leaning a bit closer towards her after she stood up again. "Hold on tightly, it could get a bit rough." Evelyn said with a calm, low voice, before dashing towards the cart chosen by the werecat and his friend.
"Have you two no shame? Leaving your friend behind and fleeing in a strangers cart...?" She said with the same, calm voice as she landed on the cart with a metal clank of her and the woman's armour, laying her down safely inside the cart, before pushing few locks of her pale blond hair from her own face. "For starters, let's get out of there to safely. It seems those riots are everywhere, but they seem to be centred around the zones where adventurers keep appearing. If we will head to the outskirts, it should get a bit more... calm." Evelyn said calmly while dusting off her clothes a bit, but contrary to the calm way she was talking, her fox tail was swinging from side to side nervously, one of the two fox ears which were peaking out of her pale blonde hair twitching every few seconds.

Guardian - Cavalier - Blacksmith ____________________________________________________Paranoia and shock were haunting Saskia as the next few moments occurred like a blur. Now the two people she was with seemed to be just as bad as the others. Nowhere felt safe. Rationality was a thing of the past as brutality and savagery seemed to be the only language this world understood. A hot flash erupted across Saskia’s face as he fair skin seemed to grow a vibrant shade of pink when the werecat had the audacity to put his hands on her and snatch her up violently by the back of her neck.
The back of her head tensed around the top of his fingers as her pupils drifted to the corner of her eye, wondering how the girl would respond. She wielded a spear, perhaps she would offer some assistance to this newly perceived threat? But no, Saskia would indeed be forsaken as the woman seemed to neglect Saskia’s pain and ignore her plight.
Saskia squinted her eyes in disgust as she was roughly pushed by the werecat who threatened to kick her when she faltered to move the way he wanted to. Saskia wanted so badly to drive her spear into his side, especially with all the pandemonium going on, but she was wary of the woman that traveled with him. It was a mystery how she would act, but she seemed to be aligned more with the werecat than any commonly decent set or morals. All Saskia could feel for the two was a writhing hatred that boiled from within.
She noticed that the werecat was still limping, perhaps a weak point she could be able to take advantage of at a later time. As the werecat spoke it seemed that he was building trust with the woman, and she seemed to be falling for it. It was a grueling trip as Saskia huffed roughly, occasionally watching the one sided brawl going on in the streets as adventurer genocide was being committed on a mass scale.
The pathway felt more stable under her feet, and she could no longer hear the stumble in motion from the werecat. He seemed to have been feeling better, which was bad news for Saskia as that meant that she waited too long to strike. However, he had made a potential mistake by carrying Ruby and leaving himself partially exposed.
As the woman began making noise and creating a distraction. Saskia’s hand tensed around her spear as her fingers curled tightly around the shaft. She let out several rhythmed breathes as the intensity built in her chance. That anticipation a person feels just before combat. However, chaos had erupted and a deathball was emerging towards them. Before she could react, instinct took over and the werecat had abandoned both her and had run off with the werecat.
‘Typical...what an asshole..' Saskia thought as she felt a certain burst of relief from not having to be in proximity of that jerk. Hopefully, to never see him again as they snuck aboard the cart. Saskia then tried to find her own way away from the chaos as she started looking for potential escapes, but she suddenly felt a jolt as her feet got swept off the ground and she was lifted up.
“No, please I don’t want to die! I didn’t hurt anyone, plea-..” Saskia yelled with her eyes closed tightly in fear, until she opened them to the sight of a blonde haired woman with a virtuous gaze in her eye.
The woman’s voice was calm and offered a slight sense of security, however, Saskia was still in shock that the woman could pick her up so easily in her heavy armor. She felt uneasy as she noticed the woman darting towards the destination that Saskia wanted to be far away from, but before she could say anything, they had already went soaring into the air and dropped right into the center of her previous captors’ cart.
Saskia had already begun to fix her mouth to protest, but after hearing the woman scold the two Saskia chose not to say anything to get the woman on her bad side. Saskia took a moment to notice that the woman had two oriental looking katanas, so perhaps she was pretty skilled in combat.
Saskia now felt a new wave of courage sweep over her, she wondered if she could encourage the new woman to come to her side.
“These guys aren’t friends..” Saskia stated as she pointed the tip of her spear at the werecat. “This jerk threatened to kill me, he snatched me up by the back of my neck and pushed me. Making me some type of captive and he threatened to kick me if I didn’t keep moving...and that one..she didn’t even blink an eye or raise a hand to help me. She just went with it all!”
Saskia scowled at the duo, as she looked at royal guards emerge from the side of the streets, preparing to engage some hostile adventurers. Saskia then pulled out a wooden whistle that hung around her neck and blew into it, trying to get the guards attention.
“Guards, over here. This man assaulted me!” She shouted after blowing the whistle, however, behind her a weird light illuminated into the form of a large wolf that seemed annoyed at it’s present crowd.
As Saskia turned around she panicked, “Oh, f---ing hell! There’s a wolf in here!” She raised her shield and spear towards it and nervously shook in her stance.
However, Saskia noticed an odd addition to her party in the menu interface frame. The wolf also seemed to be snarling at the werecat as he stood in between him and Saskia in a protective posture. Above the wolf’s health bar was a level indicator that read “Level 3”. Saskia remembered hearing her sister blab on about levels and the higher something’s level was, the more dangerous it could be.
Saskia felt an air of confidence as she saw the potential to turn the tides.
“You stay on your side of the cart, kitty or I’ll make sure you’re wolf food! I promise!” Saskia stated as she kept her spear pointed towards him. As she targeted him, she noticed a whole interface of skills pop up.
'What the hell…' Saskia thought as she read some of the skill descriptions quickly. Making sure to tuck that useful bit of information to herself in case the werecat became hostile again.
She turned to the woman. “Thanks for your help again by the way. My name is Saskia. Do yourself a favor. Don’t trust this werecat. He’s bad news. “

It didn’t take long for Spades and Ruby to reach a cart that was still traveling and was unhindered by the chaos ensuing around them. Ruby seemed to be against suddenly being picked up and she poked him with her stick in his back, Spades almost dropped her out of anger but his pride would not let him simply abandon her to a situation that would assure death. Even after her poke to his back Spades was running surprisingly well for having just barely learning how to walk, he was running in stride and without much trouble. Spades was within grabbing range of the cart but decided to jump anyway just to be sure, Spades surprised himself with how high he jumped but thankfully it wasn’t so high that he would have over shot the cart. With a “Thud!” Spades and Ruby landed in the cart, Ruby had poked him once more with her stick but this time in his head as he was letting her down. Spades started to lose control of his temper at being poked twice and was close to letting lose some harsh words and if poked enough he would unleaded some harsh actions as well, before he could decide what do do with his temper he felt another “Thud!” and this one felt more pronounced shaking the cart and making it move noticeably slower than before. Spades and Ruby were positioned at the back of the cart near it’s entrance, somehow a blond had picked up the pink-haired woman in heavy armor, caught up with Spades and Ruby, and jumped with enough momentum that they landed behind Spades closer to the front of the cart. Spades was about to give her his look of being impressed but the blond began to berate him and even more infuriating she assumed that she was his friend, she then followed up with directions on what they will do about the current situation they are in and Spades agreed that it was not smart to fight a mob. He took note of how calm her voice sounded and his impression of her was much more positive than the woman in armor who was beginning to become a source of great irritation quickly, the twitching ears gave him a weird impression though; he’s never seen something like that and Spades is unsure what it exactly means but he decided it was not the time or place to look into the matter. He decided to hold in his words for the time being and attempted to look for a way to reach safety or more specifically some place where they won’t risk getting attacked. Unfortunately for the group within seconds of the blond woman berating Spades and Ruby the pink haired woman somehow got a burst of courage now that she appeared to be out of imminent danger and pointed a spear in Spades direction. Spades was already getting close to blowing his top from being poked and being told that he had an alliance with the woman, now Spades was about to completely lose it when she not only pointed a weapon at Spades but also called a guard dog and took a haughty attitude towards him once she realized that she called it. After she called out her own threat she turned to the blond and introduced herself as Saskia, ‘Perfect, now I know the name of the person who is going to receive a thrashing’, Spades maliciously thought in his head as his anger was starting to reach a breaking point. As Spades was about to tell Saskia of several ways he was planning to hurt her if she does not put her weapon down the driver of the cart noticed the 5 beings in the back of his cart and was continued to look back at them in confusion thinking that the tension in the area was aimed at him. In a panic he took a sharp right as soon as he hit the center of town and knocked all the participants off his cart with a large amount of noise being made from the 5 beings making impact on the ground. Spades was light enough to hold on initially as well as Ruby and the blond, it was thanks to Saskia’s heavy armor and the wolf that all inhabitants of the cart fell, While Spades was falling he got caught under Saskia’s weight and he was unfortunately underneath her a few times when they were all rolled up and skidding across the ground like a rock being skipped over water. They came to a stop and as they did Ruby and the blond woman went their own way in to the crowd of panicked landers, meanwhile Spades was able to split himself from the wolf and Saskia in time for them to stop. He stayed on the ground and was positioned about 5 meters away from Saskia and the wolf, Spades calmly looked up at the sky for a few seconds realizing that he was about one more bad move from someone else to completely losing his temper… until he remembered that he was underneath Saskia a few times when they all hit the ground causing him to feel a throbbing in his abdomen from the pain. Spades had crossed over his threshold and jumped to his feet in an instant placing himself in a fighting stance, the nearby landers that began to surround Saskia and Spades backed away from Spades due to his sudden movement, the angry man’s emerald feline eyes shrunk into slits and stared into Saskia’s like he was trying to bore a hole through her pink head. As a by product of his emotional state Spades body began to twitch slightly followed by his breath deeply and tighten and relax his muscles, unknown to the werecat, he was unintentionally activating and deactivating his Iron Body skill turning his fur to the color of iron then back to black every other time he tightened his muscles. Spades was pretty much at the point of turning feral, as evidenced that without knowing, he was flashing his sharp canines at Saskia's direction; only thing that seemed to make him appear mostly sane was that he was not growling. The only thing on Spades mind was waiting for her to make the wrong move because he planned to pin her down and giver her a very fatal concussion when she did. In reaction to this hostile action as an adventurer, the landers surrounding Spades, Saskia, and her wolf turned hostile themselves and giving shouts of anger they looked like they were about to start their own riot or rather they looked to be ready to lynch the all three of them. Spades inner psyche was in competition on whether he should end her life here and now or attempt to calm down and deal with the ever increasing danger from the surrounding angry landers. Ruby laid still on the cart even with the new occupants raising a ruckus. She did raise an eyebrow when the girl falsely accused Mac of kidnapping. That's one hell of a stretch. Is she a little kooky?
"You were the one that followed us first, Pinky." Ruby paused a bit then sat up. "Or would you have preferred if Mac left you sitting on your ass in the middle of the street while a mob of bloody crazies descended on you?" She took a deep breath and laid back down, obviously ignored by the overly emotional crazy lady. Why'd the new person have to bring her back anyway? She's starting to get on Ruby's nerves. Then she blew something that split Ruby's ears. It was so high pitched it gave her an even bigger headache. She gripped her ears tight. Did she think that was a rape whistle or something? Ruby feels sorry for any of this woman's male relatives that ever have to deal with her lunacy. Since I have wolf ears now, does that mean that was a dog whistle?
A quadrupedal animal appeared in the cart. As if things weren't stupid enough. "Mac, is it too late to go back? I think the mob was better company."
And of course the cart driver finally took notice. Though his two horses probably took notice of the wolf first. He seemed to struggle getting them under control before he could yell at the group of stowaways. The cart turned waaay too sharply, then spilled everyone within all over the road. Ruby felt weightless for a few seconds before she fell hard on the brick road. The fine ring of metal vibrated within a centimeter from her head. She opened her eyes and her reflection looked back at her as the spear came so close to gouging through her head. She sat up quickly, grabbed the spear, stood up, grabbed the other one a short distance away, and sheathed them both on her waist.
Further down the street she could see the cart driver chasing after his horses and cart while the cart was dragging on its side. Whups. She turned to survey her surroundings when her view was blocked. She looked up to see one of the floating behemoths looking down at her, as if judging her. She shrieked and took two steps back. She put her hand on her spear, but didn't pull it back out. That action caused the behemoth to ready his huge halberd, but he refrained from attacking. When Ruby let go of her spear's pole, the behemoth went back to a neutral stance.
Ruby turned to look on the other side of the river where she saw more behemoths attacking rioters. "Ummm, your friends need help?" She asked, pointing at them, talking to the behemoth in front of her.
He responded with a monotone voice. "THOSE WHO COMMIT CRIMES IN THE CITY SHALL BE PUNISHED." He said nothing more and disappeared on the spot.
Ruby let out a breath she didn't know she was holding. "Hopping a ride in a cart isn't a crime then?" She turned around, scratching behind her left ear, and spotted the new arrival that had hopped onto the cart and also fell off with the rest of them. Or is Mac and Pinky still on the cart? Where'd they go?
