[Event Idea] Crusade of Blood & Corruption

So earlier in the Cbox, someone mentioned something about Lander Wardens, and it sparked an idea in my head. Here is what I have thus far of the Event proposal I have been writing up. Any suggestions are welcome!

Plot summary -

Word of a league of fighters comprised of People of The Land Wardens has reached Londinium. The Brotherhood of Righteous Fire is a group of Wardens seeking to cleanse the Eastern Continent of any corruption, and have recently taken their crusade to the Unfounded Kingdom, trying to stop any corrupt influence in the area by force, trying to defeat and Heretics and strike fear and doubt in the hearts of those who use the powers of corruption. They understand that their enemy can never die, as they are immortal Adventurers, but they understand the power of fear and plan to kill the Heretics as much as they deem necessary to discourage any who support the use of corruption.

Over the past two years, the Brotherhood has been gaining strength and numbers, preparing for their Heretic Hunt. As many of its members are from England, they first began hunting in the Unfounded Kingdom on a small scale to prevent themselves from gaining too much attention, but they have managed to gain the support and praise of a few People of The Land throughout the UK with stories of their heroic deeds and selfless hunts.

Major Characters -

Solomon Kain, the leader of the Brotherhood of Righteous Fire. A fierce, stoic Englishman who leads the crusade against corruption. His bloodlust has spawned infamy in his name, and many speculate that the Brotherhood is merely an excuse to allow him to kill and slaughter in the name of good.

Before founding and leading the Brotherhood, Solomon’s beloved fell victim to Heretics under the influence of Miasma. Seeing her tattered corpse and disheveled state, he swore to do all he could to stop anyone from feeling the pain he felt as he saw the bloody corpse of the woman he loved. For over a year, he kept his word by leading a group of Wardens, the Brotherhood of Righteous Fire. Believing that only People of The Land could understand the pain of losing a loved one, Solomon forbid the recruiting of Adventurers, and the knowledge that their deaths would be permanent drove the Brotherhood to fight fiercely to the bitter end. After over a year of fighting the forces of Miasma, Solomon began to fall under the influence of Miasma Corruption, and now his crusade has become one driven by bloodlust.

Suggested Actions -
This section is for directions that can be taken in response to the Brotherhood's crusade. While these are the actions I have written up here, they are by no means the only options.

A. Combat
A1. Attack the Brotherhood in small skirmishes, taking out as many Wardens as possible around the Unfounded Kingdom to weaken their forces.
A2. Massive assault, basically resulting in war between Londinium and the Brotherhood of Righteous Fire. (Locked as the location of their stronghold is currently unknown)

B. Diplomacy
B1. Trying to convince the Brotherhood that bloodshed can be avoided and trying to stop their crusade through peaceful means.
B2. The "Shiroe Route" as we in the Cbox have taken to calling it - Let's be total dicks and find the best way to force the Brotherhood to stop their crusade. Crush their dreams while you're at it and give the enemy no room to squirm!

C. Espionage
C1. Interrogate a Warden of the Brotherhood and try to get some answers!
C2. Stealthily try to follow a band of Brotherhood Wardens back to their stronghold and find their base of operations.

I will be posting more as I write out more (or receive more suggestions) of the plot, but I wanted to get this up here so everyone could give feedback. The goal of the event would be whatever we all decide upon, whether we hope to try and talk the Brotherhood into accepting the Londinium Heretics, or if we see it necessary to fight back. If this event gains enough interest, I will try to hold a meeting among the significant characters (mostly the guild masters and other de facto "Leaders" of the city) of Londinium to discuss what direction we want to go in. I would like everyone to shape this plot as it unfolds, and I will be trying to keep up with what happens regarding it. For example, if the event gets the support of the players and it begins, then I will add the Brotherhood's Wardens to the Custom Bestiary and any Brotherhood Wardens killed in a thread with the [Crusade] tag could lead to Solomon believing that Londinium is not to be trusted.

I am very glad to see that this is gaining some support, and I hope this gains more support from the forum's many users and staff! I would be very interested to hear the opinions of some Wardens and Heretics, as they would be the type of people this kind of event would affect the most.

The main concern I would bring up is why wouldn't the other wardens have stopped them? Or is this a small warband that has gone rogue? A more distant sect that is actively out in the field doing unannounced checks on villages for heresy?

I'm not sure I get the question. The Brotherhood is an organization of Warden Landers, do you mean why have the Adventurer Wardens done nothing about them?

I'm thinking about fleshing out the Espionage, and I have two ideas.

System A: The espionage uses the Roll system to determine what is learned. For example, roll 1-20, find out the name of a high ranking Brotherhood Lieutenant; roll 21-40, find out what the Brotherhood has planned next; 41-60, find their headquarters; etc. etc. This could even help out with a C2 espionage thread. Like if someone was trying to follow a group back to base, and they roll a 27, then that group of Wardens would end up leading the spy to another patrol point and they may overhear something along the lines of "So when are we expected to move on to the assault from the south?" Or if the spy rolls a 16, then they'd be led some random place like a camp and they may see the Wardens speaking to a Lieutenant.

System B: We could use a completion system similar to that which was used in Hirosame's Trains event. Certain information would be discovered at certain percentages, such as (to use System A's examples) at 20%, learning the names of the high ranking Brotherhood Lieutenants; at 40%, learning what they have planned for their next move; at 60%, learning the location of their headquarters, etc. etc.

Both systems could work well enough in my opinion, but I want to see what you guys think. Any and all suggestions are very welcome, so if anyone has any other ideas, then please post them. I would be very interested to hear what you all think would work.

I think a combination of both A and B would be good. For espionage, you may want to have a "cap" on how much information a person uncovers. For each roll a person gets, it gets a certain portion of completion. When completion is 100% for that person, they can no longer continue said espionage. It would also probably encourage more than one person to be the one doing espionage and the two or more people would be able to get more information.

The only other option I could think for adding to this is the Political route. Espionage is great but don't forget that a non-heretic classed adventurer, depending on the zealous nature of the individual wardens, could in theory simply approach a patrol and ask who is in charge as they'd like to speak with them on behalf of Londinium. I understand that cloak and dagger stuff is more fun to read and write than the "The representative strode in the Warden Commanders office with an air of confidence." and "They battled back and forth in this saber duel of words. Neither finding an opening in which to sink their razored wit." I mean when you compare it to, "The blackened form of the operative slunk along the shadows in the growing dusk. Seventy meters to the objective felt like seventy miles. Each heart beat banging in the ears as all senses ran on high alert." its quite flat and boring. Just thought I'd chuck the negotiation route into the mix. And there is also the chance of turning such a brotherhood to our side though that would depend on Dumah's idea of how zealous these men are among other things. It'd also depend on if you had people interested in the political route of "Stay their sword and redirect it for our own purposes."

More literally what exactly are these guys doing that is questionable, yet not unquestionable enough for other NPC wardens to excuse (since all wardens are based in Avon area NPC wise)? Are they simply making unannounced visits into town and executing anyone with a inkling of corruption? Or what else are they doing? Again mainly curious questions to flesh them out.
