At his request to go dancing with him Saskia raised an eyebrown, nodding with her head at the other contestants, as to say: let’skick their arses, but then in that Scottish accent of hers. Next up she produced a smile as if she was telling him she was up for the challenge. Adding to her smile she stated that the party had just started as she thrust a fist towards the ceiling, her eyebrows accentuating her joy. As he took her hand she produced a smile, showing her white teeth as she started to giggle, probably because she was having fun or something she thought of sounded really funny in one of her many accents. Her face turned a shade of pink as she stared into his eye as the mischievous duo walked towards the dance floor. When he asked her if he could lead and put his hands on their respective places she smirked, at first, and then smiled as she whispered that he could take the night away into his ear. During the next moments of their dance Bailin thought he noticed a joyful smile on Saskia’s lips, but as it was the corner of his eye, he wasn’t too certain about it. Though, on the other hand, she hadn’t run away, yet, which was a good sign. Continuing his dancing instructions Saskia whispered into his ear that they should set the stage on fire, making him chuckle, remembering an old joke he found on the internet, whispering it into her ear: “I could try to build a flammenwerfer, it werfs flammen.” He joked grinningly before he translated it for her: “It’s a flamethrower, would be interesting to see if we could… but I have to admit, it won’t be so hot as you.” He flirted brazenly, taking his head back a bit so she could see his grin, running from ear to ear, before putting his head back, close to her ear. Dancing further the two of them waltzed and waltzed and then Bailin let Saskia gently lean back, where she bit her lip ever so tempting, which resulted in Bailin giving her a kiss on the way back up, making her smile from ear to ear, only to continue waltzing as blood rushed to her face. As they continued their dance, her face still red, she told him that if he kissed her without saying a word he was talking to her soul, something that sounded rather romantic in a way, making him smile and say: “Hmm, well why don’t we go talk some more after the dance, that is, if you want.” with a wink and a big grin, as Saskia gazed at him with a tempting grin. A few steps later Saskia broke her calm and tempting demeanour as she suggested to spice up the dance a bit. Taking a step back she let go of his hand and turned around, swinging with her hips, which drew Bailin’s attention to her behind. She proceeded to stare at him, eye(s) first, then his lips, raising his arm high above her so she could do a spin forward and spin back. Her back was now against his chest, as she turned her head towards his and whispered that dancing with your feet was one thing, but dancing with your heart was something entirely different, though he had little idea what she meant, bar that he should do as he felt when dancing, instead of following the usual or intended steps. And then she smirked at him and spun away, swaying seductively with her hips as she swung her head, sending her pink locks flying through the air, telling him that if he danced with his heart, his body would follow. And then all dancing hell broke loose, not that Bailin minded it much, but it was different from what they had been dancing before. Taking the lead and tempting Bailin Saskia slid a leg between his, making him blush a good bit. She still looked fancy but her moves told him something else, for some reason she was dancing bolder, probably giving herself over to her heart as she had told him a moment before. Next up she pressed her body tightly against him, something he didn’t mind at all, and taking his hand, dancing around the ballroom with a certain… panache. She told him that dancing was a nice little chat between body and soul. If she were right, things would work out fine between them as they were mostly in sync with each other during their dance, that is to say: after the initial style change. She gently put her right hand on his cheek, staring into his eye, placing her left hand above his heart as she talked about watching them dance was to hear their hearts speak out to each other, yet another romantic notion. It appeared that Saskia was somewhat of a mysterious, romantic figure. As she finished talking she put her lips against his, making him wanting to kiss her more. Placing his one hand on her lower back and his other around her cheek he kissed her tenderly. After they had finished their kiss he gently put her head against his chest and put his one hand on the back of her neck, his other on her lower back, slowly swaying back and forth enjoying every second of her presence close to him. Whispering into her ear he said: “Let’s go to my place after this party and just sit down and cuddle, maybe sit down next to the mill on the grass and enjoy the water flowing, together, as we did at the pier when we first met. (OOC: It’s a poor post, but I’m dying from a laggy computer and losing the same sodding post twice. My dancing fellow: Feel free to describe the dance in any way you like, just being a short monk I imagine the poor lass will be twirled. XD) WC:1197 “Oh yes, I have plenteh of rocket fuel fa tis parteh Hiro! If ya want ta finest liquor in tis land ta start tha’ parteh, taken from onleh ta best ingredients tha’ the people oaf the land can provide! It can solve a variety of aliments, such as back pain. Ever lacked energy to dance? One sip and ya be up like jagger, also cures migraines, erectile dysfunctions-”By now the party was flowing as he stood upon his carriage as his various assortments of bottles was dealt out with all the manners of snake oil salesman and with twice as much banter. Though the dwarf lacked any glasses for his patrons, his bottles had been chilled in the cold belly of the vicious winter itself and thus as such were at the exact temperature that one would expect. The variety of drinks available ranged from ciders to whiskeys to wines, essentially the only limitation was the imagination of the beholder; both figuratively and literally. -Wait, author are you essentially making this up as you go along?- -It’s the easiest way of satisfying everyone. Now shhhh Tobin, continue with your internal monologs, after the third time writing this post I am willing to do anything.-Tobin blinked and continued to use his unique vantage postion to size up the party as he worked, from up there he was able to see that most of the Aceryn regulars were here, including second @0x1dea, and the leaders (either officially or by the tug of the immortal chain) Kumori and @dindeen. Tis was only natural that being the bearer of great spirits Tobin had yet to talk to them. Around the halls he could also see a few of the newer guild members that he wasn’t so familer with, namely Lavinia, Nursery Rhyme and @chahium, though the latter of which if she did make eye contact he would simply point and flip a thumbs up. Poor lass! There were other people among the crowd that Tobin was somewhat less familier with. A large bulk of the adventurers consisted of members or asscoiates of the accopch guild whom, to the exception of Hirosame the Dwarf hadn’t any real experience with aside from an alliance mission he had invited himself to some time ago. As far as the political angle of his guild the Dwarf had little personal involvement, partly due to being constantly on new adventures and his labours as a brewer but also because Tobin probably might have made the newer members feel uneasy with his boundless uproars! Not that Tobin really minded, because likely the position of guild leader meant interaction with tons of people in rather dry settings. That being said, Tobin wasn’t really a huge fan of these formal settings anyways, much of the time they were stiff necked affairs that consisted of meeting the twice removed bastards of landers whom suddenly developed claims on the land, so he didn’t mind things just happening as long as he didn’t have to deal with that. The best work was the work that others did! This evening was anything but dull though; across a mixture of entertainment and the general hubble a pink haired lass piped up to her partner and rambled about the stocky fellow. A rumbling chuckle was the response to that, though Bailings follow up made the rumble into a soft laughter and a slight shake of the head “Hohoho damn streight; ya can’t do science without rocket fuel!” He paused to consider the short jokes. “Oh believe me laddie, I hav’ herd ta entire short list of jokes by now from being onleh in short supply ‘n’ bein’ unable ta for fill tall ordar’s, ta only thing not short is the list of height puns I‘ve herd.” The stocky fellow naturally gave a booming rumble from his throat, before he continued. “Well lassie, ya strike me as one who luvs strong flavours, so I might hav’ justa thing fa ya! Comin’ rite up- wait wure is it?”
At that point the dwarf had put his head through the open carriage and rummaged through various racks, by the time he emerged a short few seconds later, a bottle of whisky and wine in each hand, they had already gone to the ball dance, as did most other people. The opened his mouth before giving a slight shrug as he uncorked the whisky bottle and downed the contents in one long chugging motion. *Burrp* “ Fine, moar fa me then.”The clatter accompanied the shieathing of bottles, the bulk of the dwarf shifted up to get confortable in the seat of the carriage. A causal gaze watched over the dancers as they took postion in the formal event, the formal hubble and the classical tunes of both voice and instrument captivated the heart with the melody of imagination. Yet the Dwarf felt a pang in his chest, after all he was the short fellow of only four foot nine, thus was stragtically tall enough to nuzzle the bosom of any woman within the hall (That wasn’t considered an advantage in this formal occasion!). Tobin felt a ping of dispondance from his chest as he wenched his gaze away from the specticals. -Ehh, I’ll sit this one out. I’m sure there will be plenty of time to entertain later-As such he closed his eyes over and settled down, for after all while it would most likely be entertaining to dance with his boar, the half strider was attempting to behave on this occasion. The self-restraint lasted for only a few seconds before he gave a huff and rolled off the carriage to stalk amongst the tables with a causal stride, his pink hued gaze flicked around in search of prey a dance partner. -Oh sod it, that would be boring. But who’s left? I mean most the pretteh boys have taken a partner for themselves- Oh hang on?-It was then that he saw his target; Midori seeming to imitate the couple with a mechanical puppet of her own and from what he could tell from the corner of his eyes; she looked pretty good! If a bit detached from the entire sernerio. Seemed like the perfect person to force into the lime light! -How would I imagine Kumori and Hiro chat someone up?-The Dwarf scratched his beard after a moment to compose himself he marched up from behind her and; with a gentle tap on her shoulder to get her attention; clad with his most formal, sincere smile with just a hint of his teeth. “’ey lassie; I saw ya like to play with puppets, mind if I play master with ya fa a bit?”As soon as she answered yes, regardless of her actual intentions his grin would extend as he wrapped an arm around her back and he would seize her hand in the other. Then he half lifted; half marched the reclusive beauty up to the floor. Poor lass! “Come on ya beauteh, lets show dem how people should realleh dance!”In case you were wondering; yes, that was Dwarf’s idea of how either guild leader would use a pick up line, a terrible pun before dragging them to the stage. (OOC: Describe the dance as you want. Yes the dwarf is ready to twirl her (or the puppet if you really don’t want me taking her to dance.). XDD)

Yeah, so OTP Ball continues with more people doing awkward things. A sort of 'gross preteen makeout party' according to one of our new acquaintances, which is quite accurate if you were to consider the true demographics for this kind of dance. I'm already sure that the number of posts that qualified for a dancing reward had been met for some time now, so people were either waiting for another GM post or for someone to take the stage and initiate something else. Being the Forever Alone representative she was, Midori continued to control the puppet in an childishly amusing if somewhat metaphorically sad way. Well, if you're going to dance by proxy, might as well copy from one of the experts, right? Even @dindeen noticed such genius! Except... she seemed a little creeped out from her brief expression. Well, you probably would be if you saw some faceless inanimate object copy your intimidate dance motions with your husband. That's right. Feel the power and experience of dancing slowly being sapped from you and into the mind of this lonely girl. There's no one who can stop her- Wait, Skit, what are you writing? Skit!? You don't have to do this, you know! You have your boar after all. Wait, stop. Skit. Skit. Skit! SKIIIIIIIIIIIIT!
Allul-0's movements were interrupted as the Puppeteer noticed a tap on her shoulder. She stopped the puppet for a moment and spun around in curiosity. She was met with the cheerful face of a stout man with an amazing brown beard. He was a member of their allied guild Aeryn, if she had remembered Hiro's statements correctly. There had been some times where a Dwarf had been mentioned, half of the time jokingly as one of Caerbannog's favorite throwing weapons. It seemed he had noticed her single-player puppet game controlling and had decided to take the opportunity to ask her to dance with him. She didn't really know what to do. On one hand, Midori was rather critical of people and tended to shy away if she sensed that they had any ulterior motive. She had associated a dance request as a request for a date. However, the Dwarf didn't seem to have any ulterior intent at all. He seemed to be quite genuine, simply offering to spread some holiday cheer around. Her expression softened a little as she issued a command reel to the puppet, causing it to quickly withdraw and attach itself to her back like a small child clinging to its parent.
"Yes, I would like to-?!"
Before she could even finish her statement, her entire body (puppet and all) was hoisted into the air and quickly rushed over to the dance floor. Wait, this was all going so fast! What is going on? Yeah, what is going on? Why are you doing this, Skit? We can make a deal here- Midori unconsciously slapped away the 4th wall presence that seemed to be haunting her. Maybe that was the reason why she couldn't find someone to dance with. As they got to the dance floor and she was finally set down, the Puppeteer took an unsteady step onto the dance floor and her mind blanked out. Midori had never gone to any dances, so her lack of experience was making itself clear enough. But before she was able to really say anything to back out of the dance she had inadvertently got herself involved it, her body was immediately twirled. Her mind went blank once again. She was about to say something about how she didn't really know very much about dancing and that the Dwarf really should have picked a more worthy dance partner, but- another twirl.
You know what. There's always a first for everything.
"Let's start by doing the same dance that the married couple was doing. I think I have it in my mind..." She took a dancing position similar to Caer, allowing the Dwarf to settle into the dance routine and to eventually take the lead. Luckily she was short enough that her dance partner would have been able to dance fairly comfortably without either of them needing to make any compensations. Back step, make sure not to trip. Forward step, gently forward and not to intrude too far forward. It seemed to be a simple enough rhythm to carry along with the calm tempo of the music currently playing in the background.

Hiro was actually a bit surprised at the response he had gotten from the girl. Sure, it was perhaps a bit out of the blue to have been asked by someone sitting next to you to dance, let alone someone whom you had just met a few moments beforehand, but still, the reddening of the cheeks he noticed on her face made him think that perhaps she had somehow wanted him to invite her for a dance. After noticing such a reaction, Hiro felt himself lose his cool just a bit, as his face began to tint red as well. But, he managed to keep together, as the lady gently placed her hand into his, and he lead her to the floor. He held her hand softly, but in such a way that it wouldn't stray from his own. He then arrived at the thought that of her saying that something had caught her interest, when she made her way over. She probably didn't mean anything to Hiro about it, but more that the large grouping interested her. Thinking about this all the way to the floor, where they eventually stopped, didn't help things out much for him. Then, the next bit happened.
@sugarygiggles had started to look up at him, with piercing, wide green eyes. Hiro returned the gaze, his eyes widening a bit as he listened to her. This girl was just far too adorable to let go of right now, whether she realized this fact or not. Hiro gave a soft smile, looking down at her, and held her hand just a bit tighter. "You don't need to worry about that." Hiro said, reassuringly. "Back in the other world, my parents had basically forced me to learn how to ballroom dance." A mischievous glint appeared inn his eyes for just a moment, before switching back to his smile. "Just follow my lead, and please excuse this next thing." Hiro slowly took hold of Artemisia's other hand, and brought it up to his chest, just below his shoulder. "You keep your hand here, or up to my shoulder, whichever you decide. Next, then, would be..." Hiro wrapped his other arm around her waist, pulling their bodies just a bit closer to one another. He then gently squeezed her hand, which he had been holding the entire time, and brought it up and a bit out to the side. The rest was based off of his own memory of his childhood.
"Next part, is the cliche portion of it all." Hiro spoke, his voice lowered just a bit. He began to move his right leg to the side, stepping down firmly. "One." He counted, motioning for her to do the same. The distance that his leg had covered wasn't that far at all, so there would be no worry of if the shorter female would be stepping too far to one side. He then brought both feet back together, so that she would follow. The elegance of this dance was in how simple, yet surprisingly intricate motions it involved. Discussion of the dance wasn't important right now. Hiro then took a step back diagonally, counting again. "Two." He brought Artemisia back with him, keeping their bodies the same distance from one another. Giving her a little bit of a push, signaling that it was her turn to step back, he stepped forward with her, counting off the last time. "Three." Hiro smiled at her, trying to be reassuring as possible. "And that's all there is to it." Hiro gave her a quick nod, and looked around the room. It seemed that others had begun dancing as well. He looked back to her. "Perhaps we should start dancing as well? Tutorial's over. Time to give it a try."
Giving her that little bit of a warning, he lead once again. Going slow, just to let her pick up the tempo, and how things would begin to progress over time. He figured that it would be kind of funny to watch her stumble just a little bit, only to be held up by Hiro. Another reason why he was holding her in the dance in such a manner was to make sure that she didn't fall. It would be the most embarrassing thing in the world for a girl to fall down, after trying out a dance for the first time. Then again, a waltz wasn't that difficult of a thing to try out, and even less a thing too difficult to master. It is, after all, just stepping in time with the music, which was usually at a pretty slow tempo. If it was any other kind of music playing right now, aside from the orchestral piece that was going on presently, it would likely be a bad idea to dance. Especially because if it was something upbeat, or something he'd normally listen to. Hiro would break out into an all-out dance fest of whatever modern dance moves he knew. But, that was for some other time. For now, though, he had moved slow enough that he figured she would have caught on for now, so he started to go just a tad bit faster. Looking down into her deep green eyes, he asked, "Are you enjoying the dance?" It would serve him well to make conversation while dancing. Lest the lady be bored. The last thing he wanted to happen was to have a beautiful girl such as Artemisia get bored with the dancing.

Oxford’s initial plan of not looking like a fool was already starting to fall apart. His mind was a blank when he found himself on the dance floor with this pink-haired beauty. His cheeks started to flush as he suddenly felt her hand in his, her other hand placed on his shoulder. Now it was Ox’s turn to place his free hand on her, but positioning it just right was rather…risky. Place your hand too high, it’s considered awkward. Place your hand too low, then suddenly you’re a pervert. Hoping that it was considered a ‘neutral’ zone, the Guardian placed his free hand on the small of Charuen’s back.Alright, I think I remember how this went…With a tentative step, Ox started up the familiar three-step sequence of the basic ballroom waltz. It certainly wasn’t anything that was going to turn people’s heads, but the less pairs of eyes that were on him, the better. Every now and then, the Guardian would glance down at his feet, making sure he wasn’t stepping on his ‘date’s toes (while simultaneously making sure he didn’t trip over his own two feet). For a while, the words ‘right, back, left, up’ repeated in his mind, the Guardian finding himself staring more at his partner instead of his feet as the two finally found a rhythm they were used to. However, it seemed like the two of them were standing a little further apart than they were supposed to, so Ox remedied the situation by pulling her in a little closer to him with each step they took. The little bit of champagne he had had when he first entered must’ve given him a little bit of courage, because normally he wouldn’t have even dreamed of pulling off a move like that.A small smile formed on his face as he simply watched her. They hadn’t known each other for very long, Oxford first meeting this pretty young lady before him when he was assigned to help her out with some of the basics of crafting. But yet, the longer they danced, the more Ox began to feel an emotion he hadn’t felt in a long time. Was it…love? Perhaps, perhaps not, but in all likelihood, it was probably the alcohol causing a short in the emotional center of his brain or something. “So, are you enjoying yourself so far?” he asked as the two continued to dance. Secretly, Ox wished this moment could last forever. For him, he was perfectly content just smiling and staring at her while holding the Cleric in his arms, but he felt that doing that might be a bit off-putting for her. Thus the reason for an attempt at conversation while on the dance floor. After listening to her reply, another silence fell between them. To him, it didn’t feel like an awkward silence. More like a serene one, where he just felt happy simply being near her. He didn’t know why it was only with her, because he’d been around multiple female players in this game before (one particularly busty-lady had even sat on his lap, for crying out loud). No, this woman was different. He didn’t know how or why, but he felt like this was a moment in time that was going to stick around in his memories for a while. That meant that if this memory was to make a home inside of him, then he’d have to make sure he didn’t perish in-game so he wouldn’t lose it. |

Myrddin sighed as he held the worn and crumpled looking invitation in his hand. His muddy-water eyes scanned the words that informed him he was invited to a ball; the Snowdonia Winter Ball, to be precise. He told himself he wouldn't go numerous times. He swore he wouldn't. You have no place at this thing. He thought as he stared at the contents of the invitation for the hundredth time. With a flick of his wrist he cast the piece of parchment into a small box he kept in the room he was using at the Log Inn. The box held many pieces of parchment of varying color and sizes. This was his source for crafting paper. Most in the box was actually old paper he had bought but hadn't gotten around to using yet. His eyes lingered at the empty air of his room.
"I'm not going." He demanded, leaning back in his chair and folding his arms tightly across his chest. "Not happening." He glanced down at his legs. It wasn't till a while ago that he hadn't been able to use them, now he could walk, albeit with assistance via his staff. His legs were draped in a dark blue pair of dress slacks with his feet in midnight black dress boots. To the left of his feet was the base of his staff, resting at an angle in the only other chair in the room. He looked up from his legs and to the flickering candle that stood on his dresser. Its orange and amber light lapped at the shadows in the room, driving them back as if in constant battle. The enchanter took note of how far the candle had burned during his protests, despite being dressed for the occasion. Finally with a mental slap to the face he used his feet to lift and swing his staff over to his hand; with minor effort he climbed to his feet. He slicked back his small braids and pulled them back into a relaxed pony tail. He hoped it looked well enough as he made his way to out of his room.
It took a some time to reach his destination but once there he was in awe at the beauty the location had to offer. Virgin snow laid over everything which allowed the ambient lighting of the huts to bath the area in a warm glow. Myrddin stood, frozen for a subjective eternity as he marveled at the scenery. He'd seen snow once or twice in his life but this, this was on another level to him. When he finally wrestled himself free of the scenery he made his way for the main establishment. As he entered he could already hear the sound of music playing. That seemed to relax his nervous a bit as the steady tempo and gentle melody set into his body. In response, Myrddin found the fingers on his left hand tapping away to the beat of the music. An unconscious habit of his since childhood.
As he meandered to the main room he was yet again met with artistic beauty of the interior of an establishment. Much like the Log Inn, this place had a masterful touch to its creation, be it by nature or otherwise. The lighting was just right, allowing for optimal ability to see while not being blinding. Tables, chairs and other side spots were spaced to give almost everyone space to move about while not encroaching on another's personal space. The acoustics were what impressed the enchanter the most. He felt as if he had stepped into a giant fish bowl, the music wasn't loud but it was as if he could hear it from anywhere in the room.
Once safely inside the room he looked over the interior, many Adventurers and Landers alike were mingling and having conversations of various sources. It looked like something out of a fairy tale storybook. He smiled to himself for a moment as new movement from the balcony above caught his attention. A tall man with broad shoulders and a high widow's peak stepped to the railing of the balcony. His eyes were concealed behind black shades and he was dressed finely in a dark suit. Myrddin couldn't help feel under dressed in his fanciest dress ware in comparison. The man on the balcony spoke of a dance competition in which there would be prizes. With a self-pitying chuckle Myrddin counted himself out of that one. He may have been able to walk and run somewhat decently now, he felt far too uncoordinated still to dance. Though the balcony man did mention he could dance on his own. Maybe...?
Nah. Myrddin decided to sit it out, with his coordination still shaky at best he figured he'd be more of an awkward attraction than he wanted to be. He walked over to a table off to the side of the dance floor with a nice view over the water. For some time he sat at the table tapping along with the music on the table, with his staff leaning against one of the other chairs at the table. The music was quite good, while not in his current taste range, he felt it had a wonderful blend of heart and mind. "That's how you capture your audience after all." He murmured, a smile spread across his lips as the songs changed from one to another to another. His eyes lingered on the dance floor during those songs, he watched the dancers; some with partners you could tell they knew for some time, while others were in an awkward embrace. Even a few that seemed to... what? Myrddin blinked a few times as he witnessed a stout man, obviously a dwarf, twirling a young woman. She had a puppet with her too. The only three-person dancing group.
After a moment the enchanter shrugged and lifted his hands to imitate a moving scale, "Pseudo-three person dancing group." He corrected his inner monologue and chuckled to himself. "Oh? Well I guess the little one decided to dance rather than imitate a marching baton." He quipped as he leaned over and wrapped his fingers around his staff and climbed to his feet. He turned and took a few steps to the railing over looking the water. The moon's waving reflection in the water was captivating, just as it had always been for him. He stared at the water as he listened to the dance music. Resting his staff against the railing, Myrddin's fingers drummed out the same beat of the song on the railing.

Dancing had never been a skill she had expected to need. Ever. Back before Elder Tale, when she still lived as April, she had never once found herself in a situation where dancing was necessary. Even if such a situation had presented itself, she probably would have avoided it. But, when Hiro looked down at her, she couldn't help but kick herself mentally for never bothering to learn. At least then maybe she wouldn't make a fool of herself in front of him. As if he was aware of the insecurity she was feeling, she felt him squeeze her hand, reassuring her that he, at least, knew what he was doing. Completely guiding her, Hiro lifted her hand and placed it gently against him, letting it rest just below his shoulder. She moved her hand a little higher, instead placing it on his shoulder. This felt more comfortable to her. The next part, however, caused her face to glow a completely new shade of red. She had been pretty sure she was as embarrassed as she could be after agreeing to the dance in the first place, but somehow, she was wrong. The source was Hiro’s arm, which he had encircled around her waist. Along with this, he had pulled her closer to him. Take a deep breath, Artemisia… at this rate, he’s going to hear your heart racing… She tried to calm herself but she knew her whole body had to be radiating heat by this point. She had never been this flustered when she was the one doing the teasing and taunting. Somehow, there was something different about being on the receiving end of someone’s attention. Slowly, Hiro guided her through the basic motions of the dance. She stared down at their feet as he instructed her, her brow furrowed in concentration. It seemed simple enough… but she really didn't feel all that confident. Okay… Maybe we should go over that again…? She looked up to see him smiling down at her. " And that's all there is to it." He spoke quietly to only her. “ Tutorial's over. Time to give it a try." She felt as if he had just casually told her to go alone into a high leveled raid zone and fight the boss monster alone. She stared at him wide eyed. Wait, hold on, I don’t…!With only that, Hiro guided her further out onto the dance floor, inter mixing them with the few others that had joined in the requested dance. Eyes full of concentration, Artemisia tried to remember the simple steps he had just shown her. She was so caught up focusing on where his feet were in relation to his that she was beginning to forget just how close they were to each other. I'm starting to get this… She looked up at him, taking her focus off her feet. Proud of herself for, at least so far, not stepping on his toes, Artemisia smiled brightly. Even still, she knew it was mostly because he was guiding her and keeping a firm hold on her. After a few moments of silence to allow her to get her footing, Hiro spoke again, asking her if she was enjoying the dance. She squeezed his shoulder in response and smiled widely. “ Yes, of course… you're a very good teacher, so I'm catching on quick… I hope you're enjoying yourself, as well.” Some of her embarrassment had eased and she was quickly beginning to feel comfortable here in his arms. She was still conscious of the fact that he was only inches away from her but so long as he didn't suddenly get any closer, she would be able to keep her face to only a faint pink, instead of the all-out glow it had been before. “ Thank you again for inviting me to dance, I came here alone and I didn't see anyone I recognized,” she wasn't sure what she was supposed to talk about, so she just kind of started rambling. “This is my first time to this area…” Her fox tail swished behind her as she spoke. “ I actually got a little bit lost on my way here, I was surprised I still ended up being on time. Actually I don't even really know much about why there’s even a Ball in the first place…” She admitted, feeling kind of stupid. “ The lady in town who helps me out sometimes somehow knew about it and insisted I go… she even got me this dress,” The lady she was referring to was a Person of the Land. She was one of the people who believed Artemisia to be a tiny child, instead of the college aged girl she truly was, and had taken a bit of pity on her. “ So, Hiro… tell me more about you? How did you end up at this party of sorts?” The physical attraction had been almost immediate for her but she wanted to know more about this person, to see if there could be a connection between them. She really felt like there could be. So as to not miss a single word, she kept her eyes locked on his face, looking only at him for now. -- Tags: HirosameWords: 869

After a fun dance session, Magma decided to take a seat at the bar and get a drink (like water). Excited that he finally danced with someone, although he just wanted to know what people thought. He was shy, and that was his first time dancing. Magma turned to Nu so he could ask her what she thought. "Nu, did you like my dancing?"
He nervously turned back to drink his water and awaited Nu's answer. He then proceeded to adjust his sleeves and formal attire so he didn't look awful. He put his head down cause he was bored, why hasn't a new contest come up yet. He was obviously bored, then he got up and wanted to talk to Nu, about her goals in The Elder Tales. Basically he wanted to get to know Nu. He sat back down, took a drink of his water and listened to what she had to say about it. He was quiet and stared at his water. His face was still red from dancing and heavy breathing could still be heard from Magma.

Hiro was actually quite surprised with how quickly @sugarygiggles caught on to the dance. After having lead her out into the dance floor even further, to the point where they were intertwined with the other dancers, she managed to keep up to his pace all the while. Although, he had to admit, when she looked up at him all wide-eyed when he said it was time to go further into the dance floor, she did look quite adorable. Her eyes were so deep, and such a beautiful color. He couldn't help but gaze into them, happy as can be. What was even more adorable was the fact that her face had begun to glow when he wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling her closer. It was adorable, then turned embarrassing, when he realized something. This time, it was his own turn to start glowing red, but he wasn't able to avert his eyes in any other direction. The look in her eyes kept his locked, unable to look away. But, the embarrassment soon went away after a few moments, and the relaxed form he was in before had quickly returned.
Hiro decided not to respond while Artemisia was talking, at least, for now. He decided to let her speak, then he'd have his own turn to talk, addressing one thing after the other. Instead, he continued to lead her through the motions. He was still listening, but he noticed that @0x1dea and Charuen, who had been dancing nearby, were very slowly coming closer. As if practiced, Hiro extended his hand that was around Artemisia towards his bro, in a fist-bump fashion. After the transaction was complete, he wrapped his arm around her once more, but took the chance to pull her just a bit closer, as she finished what she was saying. Without making so much as a grin or mischievous smile at the motion, he brought both he and her through the dance even further. He decided that now would be a good time to start talking, explaining that last motion first. "Sorry about that. Oxford and I have a pretty close friendship. If you're wondering, we planned on that to happen, should either of us show up on the dance floor. Figured I'd kill two birds with one stone."
Hiro leaned in for just a moment. "Fist-bump a good friend, and dance with a beautiful woman." He leaned back, his voice having been dropped to a near whisper. He smiled at her again, and started to address the things that she had said. "I'm glad you're enjoying the dance. You really are catching on pretty quick." Hiro chuckled before continuing. "And it's not really a matter of the teacher. It's your own ability to learn things quickly." He squeezed her hand a little bit, and a sincere smile formed on his face. "I'm having a pretty great time. You're a real nice partner to dance with." He could feel his cheeks warm up just a bit after saying that, but it didn't really matter at the moment. "And, please, I figured I'd try my luck at asking you to dance before somebody else did. I just invited a large number of friends here. In all technicalities, I came here alone, too." Hiro shrugged his shoulders for a moment. "Besides, a pretty lady like you is hard to come by. But, all in all, thank you for accepting." Hiro could tell that she was a bit older than she looked, just by the way she moved and how she acted. She wasn't some kid. No, Artemisia was definitely a woman, just a bit older than Hiro.
"I've never been here before, either." Hiro said, taking a moment to look around for once. "It's a really nice place, though, from what I saw. And don't worry about getting lost. This place is kind of confusing. As for the Ball, it has something to do with this holiday that the Landers call Snowfell, or something like that, which is basically like Christmas to us." It was at this time that he looked her over, after having mentioned the dress she was wearing. Mentally, Hiro was speechless, and couldn't really formulate a sentence well enough to explain how the dress looked on her. "Your dress... You look rather beautiful. I'll be sure to thank the lady who lent you the dress, it's wonderful." Shameless flirt time. "I can't imagine it looking better on anybody else." Having realized what he just said without even thinking, Hiro felt his mind turn to mush for a second, and his cheeks started to redden. He averted his eyes to the side, trying to hide the fact that he just said that, but to no avail. He said it loud enough that she could hear it, but still not enough for other couples to hear it. Still, it was her that he told it to.
"A-Ahh, yeah." Trying to pass it off now, he decided to swap to the last thing she said: Tell her about himself. "Well, I'm not sure if there's much to tell about myself. I'm 18, lived with foster parents and a sister of some sort back in the other world, and I'm very much a gamer." He thought he'd throw in a little joke, to lighten the mood a little. "I also enjoy long walks on the beach, and..." Hiro began to chuckle after that little remark, but continued with what she wanted to know. "As for here in this world, as you can probably see, I'm a Monk of a pretty respectable level. About half the people here are friends of mine, whom I invited to come along, so I've got a good number of friends. I also lead Apocrypha, in name only, if anything." He motioned over towards Midori. "She's my co-leader." All that being said, he moved on. "As for being here at this ball, I heard about it through word of mouth from the Landers, and thought I'd come and see what was up with it. It sounded like it'd be some fun, but I didn't expect to find a pretty person like you here. That just made things even more fun, for me." Another shameless flirt attempt. This time, he didn't act embarrassed at all, trying to pass it off as casual. Fully returning his gaze onto her, he smiled. "So, how about you? You seem like an interesting person, and I'd love to know more about you." This girl was beautiful, and she was pretty nice. But he wanted to see what else her personality has to offer. He felt a connection, but he wanted it to be more than just a hunch. He locked his eyes on her, awaiting a reply.

Tags: ahahano Words: ??? Notes: Muse 1 2 Scoria adjusted his cape and shook his hair back for a moment, blinking slowly. His sprite looked around in mild wonderment, Alraune glancing around his side here and there to stare at all the strange sounds and snow things. An odd experience for the forest creature, almost as an incarnation of spring, to be so caught up in the existence of winter. Better late than never, as they said. And Scoria was late, as late as anyone could be. They were already on page three! THREE! He had originally intended to post when things were just getting started with page one shenanigans. What a waste. He came in just near the end of the dancing section, catching an interest in various people flirting with each other. Alraune seemed to want to dance as well, so Scoria took her up on her interest, but his eyes caught on someone else. Blue. How interesting. He spun his teenaged sprite friend around by the hands, rotating slowly. He had almost hoped to find the fellow music lover here, and in fact, he was entirely tempted to pass her his guitar for funsies. Still, that'd be in pretty terrible form, as he had forgotten entirely the song he had intended to duet with her. He did have his piano, after all. His eyes caught onto various others as he danced off in one corner, slowing out of the dance and waving Alraune off as she looked around for some snacks to eat. Snacksssss. Scoria, on the other side, adjusted his outfit slowly and took a deep breath. Days like these were nostalgic, but nostalgia was always tainted red for Scoria. Scoffing under his breath, he walked about the area. Although he certainly wanted to participate, his activity was questionable at best. Going inactive again and 'lagging out' while engaging with someone wasn't something he wanted to put anyone through. Instead, he pulled out his old quill pen and did some scribe like things. Namely, he pulled out his Sorcerer's Ink and began drawing snowflakes and little snow baubles on the air itself, then gently sending them upwards with a graceful mana-soaked push of his hand. The result was a bunch of lightly glowing snowflakes and baubles that seemed to hang out skyward, just something to make the place a bit more festive.

◤ | ◥ | like you always say, | "safe travels, don't die." | Caradoc didn't know how to dance. ...Which was just a simpler way of saying that he wasn't quite sure why he was at the ball in the first place. Sure, he'd received the invitation but... He couldn't help but feel like he didn't really belong here, among a bunch of higher level players. Besides, it was cold out, and it wasn't like he had anything fancy to wear, though a friend had let him borrow a few plain barrettes to clip his hair back. Said friend had also apparently thought that flowers would look nice in his hair, and since it was a little out of season, she'd stuck a few fake ones up there. The redhead hadn't bothered to disagree; he was scared he'd get worse if he did, and those flowers were already starting to hurt his pride. At least it was better than wearing plain starter clothes to the such a prestigious-sounding event. Trying not to be too awkward as he wandered around banquet hall, the teen wondered if he should just gravitate towards the food table, if there was one. Apparently, there was a dance competition or something going on at the moment, but the redhead figured he came too late to join. He didn't exactly have a dance partner either, so that was that. Being relatively new to the game, there wasn't anyone he really knew walking about, and he was too shy to make friends or ask someone to dance on his own. Wait, why had he even entertained the thought of dancing, he couldn't dance, remember? That was half the reason why he was in such a dilemma in the first place. The other half was that there were couples everywhere. Nope, definitely didn't need to get involved with that. He had been about to go find a chair to sit the night through in before he noticed something floating through the air. Snow flakes? Yeah, those were definitely snow flakes. But where were they coming from? With nothing better to do to pass the time, the teen was off, weaving through the crowd as less clumsily as he could to see if he could find the source of the baubles hanging in the air. Apologizing every so often for stepping on someone's foot, he managed to squeeze through to where the glowing fixtures seemed to be thickest. It seemed a player named Scoria was there, and that the baubles were a result of something he was doing. Caradoc wasn't sure what, since he was so new at this game, but he thought it was nice nonetheless. Unsure of how to approach and more than certain he'd botch it up if he tried, the teen decided to just stay quiet and watch from a distance. He was content with just doing that, and it was far more entertaining than sitting around trying to pass time with his own devices. WORDS: 486 NOTES: ... TAGGED: N/A

Back at the bar, Nu had recovered her vase and quickly finished it just to be rid of the thing. She could feel the bartender eyeing her from his peripheral vision, but just decided to let him be, for now perhaps. The kid seemed to require her undivided attention, less she miss something between the mumbles and hurt his feelings. “The point, sweety,” said Nu laughing, “Is if you enjoyed –your- dancing. As for me," Nu held up a serving hand to illustrate their setting, “I’m having a ball~” Nu snorted at her own joke before raising her eyebrow at her buddy. “Ya having a convulsion…?” Seeing him put his head down Nu shrugged. She ordered whatever wine they had. Looking around with a squint she wondered what had happened to that elf-woman, ( Raniya), and shrugging as if to God if no one else, knocked back her glass and ordered another. A little later, Nu poked Magma’s side. “Hey…hey…heeeeeeey... you alive…?” Nu grinned. He was drinking water…right?

(OOC: Just posting this to get it out there, been really ill last 3 days. XD) WC:562 Despite a lack of previous dancing experience there were a couple of factors that enabled him to adapt, his main class ad his racial description. As a monk the two vital traits to learn was footwork and timing, as good defence and attack depended on getting at a precise location at an awkward attack animation. His dwarfen nature bore a more obscure role as he, unlike most was placed within a body that was very different to the human frame he was born in, as though an athlete had been imported into an exceptionally board, squat man. Basically the European stereotypical view of Americans! In all seriousness it had meant everything had to be retaught as his frame meant that even the simple process of walking or jogging in a straight line had been difficult. Thus for a month after joining the world, step by step he sought to overcome his differences. Cue the epic training montage of weight lifting, failing to swim, a test of strength and elegance by swinging around a large log and finally a jog up an exceptionally high flight of steps without smashing his face open, with a school of people following him. As such the Dwarf had obtained an intimate mastery over his own movements, evidenced by the way that his partner’s actions were guided through finesse and a light application of force to enable his partner to glide across the dance floor by a firm, yet gentle hold on her hips. As Midori regained her composure the guidance was slackened off, light perspiration formed on his reddened face, a mixture of alcohol and merriment. “Aye lassie, ya gettin’ et now, dancin’ and combat are very alik’ onleh ta objective tis different in each thether.” The dwarf’s softly spoken banter was accompanied by the soft clatter of heavy, precise soles that gave an ambience of regalism. “’ere the battle ground is sexual tension, the spoils? A shot at gloreh. Aftar all, everyone seems ta be treatin’ tis as an opportunity fa a romance arc.” The a chuckle erupted from his throat with a gentle rumble, of course he wasn’t going to try that with Midori since ya know, he just met her and it would be crazy. There would be no exchange of numbers nor calling babies. With a tingle of mescheif in his heart the dance was lightly guided toward @0x1dea and Charuen, after all his slight bashfulness reminded him of one such situation of when he had met the founding members of Aeryn.
“Alrite oxie! Ya doin’ well? Last tim’ I saw ya on thin ice, Elk had gone down on ya akimbo, ice cold I might add.” A snort of that trade mark rumble erupted from his throat before with a slight wink to Midori but a single sentence was said. “Hav’ faith in meh lassie, ya ‘bout ta fly!”With that the stocky fellow wrapped an arm firmly around his partners back and with a slight lift they twirled away, to the onlookers it would she that she were glided across the floor, provided one was willing to ignore the stocky biped. This way and that way the pair moved deftly around the dancers, before with a light settle down he twirled in her arms, a curious sight to see as his grin shone with a bright bravado! “Havin’ fun lassie?”

"KNOW THAT I'M ALREADY HOME" Upon feeling Oxford's light touch against the small of her back, Charuen smiled encouragingly at her partner to indicate that she approved of where he had placed his hand. While she would not have been offended if he had placed it anywhere else, his decision marked the fact that he was a gentleman who would not take advantage of any lady. The orchestra began to play, and the assembly of instruments came together to form a single melody that wrapped the dance floor in a joyous atmosphere. Other couples began to join them on the dance floor, including her fellow guildmate Lavinia and her date for the night, Klide. Charuen's partner began their dance with a few tentative steps, which the pinkette followed with ease. Despite not having danced for a good year due to being trapped in the world of Elder Tale, frequent socials back in the real world had ingrained the skills into her head and thus she was not rusty on her feet despite the lack of practice. An amused smile tugged at Char's lips as she watched @0x1dea look down at his feet to make sure that he did not step on her toes, or trip over his own. In all honesty, she found it quite cute. However, as the orchestra played on and the two of them continued to dance, they found their rhythm and the guardian began to look away from his feet, much to the cleric's pleasure. She held his gaze with her own, and smiled fondly at him as he brought her closer to him. There was something calming about Ox's presence; around him she felt a sense of safety and security, something that she had never felt around anyone before. Always playing the role of mother and listener among her group of friends, she had always been the one that others went to in order to feel protected. The role reversal was slightly unnerving, but definitely welcomed. The healer gave Oxford's hand a light squeeze as she continued to stare into his eyes, and the smile that had been on her lips the entire time widened. She couldn't help but notice how small her hand was when held and compared to his own. The way it wrapped around her slender digits left Charuen feeling oddly comforted. When she heard her partner's question, the pinkette gave a small nod of her head. "Oh yes, most definitely!" She replied in her usual soft spoken and polite tone of voice. Although her voiced showed some constraint, her eyes shone with mirth, and indicated just how delighted she was to be at the ball and dancing with the guardian. "I hope you are enjoying yourself too." She added soon after. While Charuen was more than capable of carrying a conversation, she decided not to pursue one with the guardian, but instead enjoy the moment: Being held in his arms, the way he laced his fingers through her own, and the gentle expression on his face. As they continued to dance, the pink haired beauty came to rest her head on his chest and close her eyes for a brief moment. Was she stepping out of line? But it felt so right to do so... Well, if he did find it uncomfortable, she could always apologize and blame it on the champagne. As they swayed along to the music, the cleric felt Oxford's had momentarily leave her back. Raising her head, Char managed to catch her dance partner exchanging a fist bump with Hirosame, who was dancing with @sugarygiggles. A small giggle escaped her lips at this small exchange, and as the pair danced away, she couldn't help but notice how adorable the monk and the foxtail looked together. Her attention did not linger on the pair for long, however. After looking up at Ox once more and offering him another smile, the sound of a heavy accented voice reached her ears -- a voice that she recognized. Charuen turned her head and was greeted with a rather interesting sight. Tobin, the resident dwarf of Aeryn, was dancing with Midori! The cleric beamed at her two friends, although the cheerful expression on her face faltered upon hearing the monk's words to Ox. What did Tobin mean by "Going down on him akimbo"? The pink haired beauty gave the guardian a glance and she began to feel her heart sinking. Oh, what nonsense she had been thinking! Oxford was so much stronger, so much more experienced than her in the world of Elder Tale. Moreover, he was second-in-command of Aeryn. He probably had many girls, girls more talented and beautiful, to hold his attention. Whoever this "Elk" person was, she must be close to the guardian...Unlike her, who had only gotten to know him recently. What a silly girl she was, to think that she had felt something special between them... However, the half-alv did not allow her dreary thoughts to show, although her smile did waver ever so slightly. Nonetheless she continued to dance with her fellow guild mate until the song finally reached an end. After taking a step back from Oxford, she then proceeded to give him a curtsy. "Thank you for a wonderful first dance." She said, looking at him with an expression of gratitude. She was sincerely touched that he had asked her to dance. That only showed how kind of a person he was, even to inexperienced players like her. Then, with another slight bow to her head, Charuen turned around and made her way back to the tables in search of a certain bard...

Yes, I think it's rather enjoyable. Despite neither you nor me having ever danced with anyone before? It's got to be pretty difficult to describe, don't you think? Well, at least now I've danced with someone. You should follow my example!
It appeared that the dances were an especially popular activity, as many of the attendees were enjoying themselves as they participated in the occasion. It had certainly gone on longer than she had initially thought. Although a lot of action had taken place within the past few minutes, she could see that people were starting to slow down on the dancing as time was beginning to pass. Perhaps that man in the suit with the strange hair would show up again to announce something else to do? She didn't think so. His invitation had indeed set the event into motion, but a smart party host was better off easing an activity into another activity, rather than to cut it off altogether very abruptly. Probably the more reasonable course of action were if other partygoers were to take the initiative and start their own activities.
In any case, her stiff movements gradually settled into a relaxed motion as the dance progressed, which prompted the Dwarf to comment on her improvements. He made a rather odd analogy between dancing and combat, two things that she had not been used to in the real world, in that they were both linked to glory. People often engaged in battles and raids in order to make a name for themselves, to show the new world that they had purpose in it. Dancing was along the same lines, for people to conquer their social insecurities and be able to improve their social experience. She'd noticed some odd actions like the gestures that Hiro and Oxford had made toward each other upon starting a dance with their partners, which made her suspect that glory in terms of dancing was very much in effect. Everyone wanted to be the one that could have boasted that they were lucky enough to dance with the most attractive person in the hall. Yeah? So what do you all have to say about her own dance partner, huh? Have any of you guys ever danced with a Dwarf before? The most manliest guy by surface mass, even! Probably not! Suck on that- This conscience inside of her was getting rather loud pretty lately.
"I agree. It's hard to believe this is a Christmas outing rather than a Valentines' event. I suppose with everything that happened last year," she recalled the previous Christmas that had passed, the one that had occurred only about two weeks following the start of the Apocalypse. It had been a while and the initial excitement that they were finally in a world they belonged in had started to die down in favor of sheer homesickness. Now that the new season had arrived, Adventurer historians seem to have written it down on the timelines as a rather significant event after all. "Silent Christmas... I think everyone's just trying to find a purpose for themselves in this new world. We probably won't be leaving this world for quite some time, so I think everyone's just trying to enjoy their experience as well as they can."
They crossed paths with the dancing @0x1dea and Charuen, where the Dwarf remarked something to the glasses-wearing Guardian. Elk? Midori recalled an Elkeid who she had crafted an Alchemist accessory for a while back. She wondered whether that woman was enjoying the holiday season as well. Maybe she was with that innkeeper and they were celebrating their holidays back in Londinium. In any case, her eyes looked toward her pink-haired friend and while Midori wasn't really able to say very much given the short instance they had intersected, the raven-haired girl gave her friend a content smile. Midori hoped that she was having fun. As the dance progressed, Midori's glance looked around to try and notice any other familiar faces. Hirosame and his dance partner was nowhere to be seen from her angle. Maybe he was dancing out of her field of vision. In any case, he had seemed to be enjoying himself tonight from his behavior earlier, probably more than he had in a while.
Wait, I'm about to fly!? The world spun as the little magician was twirled several times, seemingly spun into the air and possibly into a momentary orbit from her perspective. "Ah, yes. It really was fun and a good learning experience." she smiled. Come to think of it, neither of them had actually introduced themselves. "I think it's a bit late, but my name is Midori. I'm the co-leader and backstage planner of Apocrypha. May I ask the name of the handsome Dwarf who decided to brighten my night?" The dance continued for a short while as the tempo eased back down to their original pacing. Well, that's about as much dancing I can write for now. Guess I'll thank you too, Skit. Midori gave a slight bow to her dance partner and started a few steps as she returned back toward the table. "Thank you and I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did! I'm going to sit and rest a little." she gave a wave, prompting the wooden puppet still on her back to do the same.
As she made her way back toward the table, apparently now with an accelerated snacking pace as she carried two mugs of hot cocoa and four candy canes (the puppet was holding one of those two mugs and two canes itself), she came across Charuen again.
"Charry! You danced pretty well with Oxford~" she was tempted to make a wave but remembered that there was a hot drink in one hand and two oversized sticks in the other. So instead, the puppet offered forward what it was holding. "Care for snacks?"[attr="class","notesbg"] NOTES

Guardian - Cavalier - Brewer ____________________________________________________ Saskia seemed to be having a lovely time with Bailin as they enjoyed their adventurous waltz through the ballroom. She smiled warmly as Bailin suggested they they rendezvous by his place after the party and enjoy a little quality time together. Saskia enjoyed the serenity of being wrapped in Bailin’s arms as they shared a warm embrace. Saskia felt butterflies in her chest as she watched the ravishing ensemble and caught herself entranced in it’s allure. She looked around and noticed all the wallflowers finding their mates for the dance and friends taking each others hands just for the fun of it and to have a good time. It was truly a beautiful moment in the history of elder tales. Saskia found herself immensely amused however when she caught sight of a merry dwarf lifted a woman in the air and twirled her around. Saskia snickered at the sight and begun shaking her head.
“He’s definitely a bit of a wild card, isn’t he?” Saskia chuckled as she continued dancing in circles.
Saskia began glancing over to who the dwarf had spoken to and noticed her friend Charuen had snagged herself a rather handsome gentleman and was enjoying herself to the wondrous ballad that was being played. Saskia decided that she wanted to do a bit of mingling eventually, but for now she was getting thirsty.
“A drink would be nice right about now.” Saskia suggested as she released her self from the dance and began to pull lightly on Bailin’s hand and lead him towards the bar. Saskia weaved through the crowds and noticed a Lander bartender serving drinks.
“I’ll have a glass of White Zinfadel....” Saskia ordered with a pleasant smile.
“A what?” The Lander replied curiously, not knowing what drink she was referring to.
“Eh? Well, I guess a glass of wine will do, red wine please...” Saskia smiled lightly, trying to grow more accustomed to this world and their delicacies. Suddenly she remembered that she wasn’t the only one who was there. “Oh, make that two, please!” She quickly added.
“Certainly, milady...” The bartender replied as he went towards the back to retrieve the bottle.
“So, you having a good time? It’s a pretty cool place. I love the atmosphere. The place is pretty packed too, I think we she go say hello to some of the adventurers. Doesn’t hurt to do a bit of mingling I suppose....you know any of the guests here?” Saskia inquired. She was certain that if Bailin was able to do a bit of networking to find such a good tailor, then certainly he knew others.
Saskia sat on the barstool with a flirtatious grin as she rested her cheek on the back of her hand and gazed at Bailin with an enamored gaze.
“You really love that patch don’t you, silly man? Aren’t you supposed to be a warden and savior of the streets? You look more like the pirate off of peter pan!” Saskia cackled wildly as buried her hands in her face, snickering as she watched Bailin’s expression through the cracks of fingers. She licked her lips then trailed her gaze over to her other companion Nu, who had snagged herself a rather shy looking date. Saskia squinted a little more and recognized the man as @magma whom she had met one lovely evening when being slung out of a bar for her inappropriateness. Saskia covered her mouth in a light chuckle as she watched Nu come over and order a glass of wine.
The bartender had arrived and handed them their glass of wine.
“Have a hell of a good time, Nu?” Saskia asked in a friendly manner. “Nice two step by the way! I see you got yourself a hot date, his name’s magma and all...”
Saskia raised her glass to her lips and took a promiscuous sip. “You know...I got a pretty hot date too...he make’s me melt like hot fudge on a sundae!” Saskia cackled as she gave Bailin a mischievious smile.
Saskia’s eyes got big as she watched the child like figure down the wine glass in one gulp. “Holy hell, woman, you’re worse than me! I’m surprise that little body can handle all that liquor...but then again that dwarf doesn’t seem to be having any problems either! Look at ‘em go!”
Saskia pointed at the ridculous dancing duo as they twirled about the stage, Saskia lowered her head as she giggled.
Saskia looked at Nu’s empty glass and shook her head.
“You know....they say that we’re supposed to sip wine, not chug it like a shot of vodka! I guess that’s what you get when you join the AA alliance...you start relapsing! We’re terrible, we were suppose to make three days sober today! The AA groups going to make us refund our coins! I blame it on the dwarf! He’s the one who started with all the booze!”
Saskia had become a lot looser and unhinged at the moment as she glanced at Nu checking on her partner. “Ahhh, don’t tell me he’s a lightweight! Come on, I know you’re better than that!” Saskia cheered the boy on.
She smiled through a few more sips as she squinted over at a newcomer.
His resemblance was uncanny as she noticed the fiery red hair and the red glowing eyes.
“Hey, isn’t that the guy we met outside the city with Wedge and Cortana?” Saskia asked tapping Bailin on the shoulder.
Saskia smiled pleasantly at Cadaroc, if he had been watching as she would wave him over.
“Hey!! You’re late to the party! Come have a drink with us!” Saskia invited him as she sipped from her wine glass. “They got non-alcoholic drinks as well if liquors not your thing!”

As the duo slowed down their waltzing dance Saskia smiled warmly at his suggestion of an after party, making him feel all warm and tingly inside and returning the smile. A few steps further down the dance floor she turned her head around to take a peek at the others around them, or at least, that was the most probably cause for her turning her head round and suddenly starting to snicker. Unlocking his gaze to the pretty face in front of him Bailin started looking to the source of this apparent amusement for his lady. He found it in the dwarf with the personal bar, raising a lass above his head and twirling her about.
“Indeed he appears to be a wild card, probably at least thrice his size. Hence he is a good form of entertainment and indeed random acts of awesomeness.” Bailin said grinning in response to Saskia’s remark on the dwarf lifting a girl. Next she shifted her gaze, though Bailin didn’t bother to follow her’s for now, at least one of them had to keep an eye out for other dancing couples and as he was only using one eye, he more or less had to focus on the task at hand. Pulling lightly on his hands Saskia mentioned she could use a drink, leaving him little choice but to follow her, lest he’d dance with his imaginary friends. In secret he too was slightly parched and longing for a drink.
When Saskia ordered her drink the Lander tending the bar had looked at her in both confusion and interest. He probably never heard of the brand of booze the lady mentioned, but he was… intrigued or so it seemed. Bailin gently took a seat on the barstool next to his date. The look on her face was rather priceless as she looked a tad shocked at the lack of knowledge on the part of the Lander, and the light, probably forced smile when she ordered a glass of red wine. Finishing her sentence she changed her order to a double.
“My my, aren’t you the alcoholic tonight, my dear. Bartender I’ll have a whiskey if you please. No ice, just plain old whiskey, my dear sir.” Bailin asked the bartender, he did not enjoy wine in the real world, so chances were pretty big that he would not enjoy it here.
“No, my dear, I’m having a dreadful time. I’m here with one of the prettiest women I know, at a fancy party, with drinks… no I’m not having a good time.” Bailin said ironically with a grin as he put an arm around Saskia’s waist. “I know a few, but I’d rather just spend the evening with just you, either here or somewhere a bit more secluded.” He said grinning, as Saskia grinned flirtatious at him, with an interesting shine to her eyes.
“I do and who are you calling silly! Remember, you fell for me.” He said grinning, giving her a kiss on her cheek, “I know but it improves my accuracy and doesn’t it make me look a tad more imposing? Also remember: I love the sea, pirates live on the seas so… I think it fits. Hmm, I don’t know if Peter Pan works but… hey it got me you so…” He winked at her with a grin, as she chuckled at her remarks and his expression, licking her lips, not making a move but rather gaze back into the room. A few moments later the bartender came with their drinks.
Saskia apparently knew the lady that came to the bar to drink and drink she did, gulping down the booze she had received, whilst Saskia complemented her friend on her date, taking a sip of her wine before she continued. Bailin blushed as she compared him to hot fudge on an ice cream, giving him an evil grin.
“Euh, thanks, you’re not so bad yourself, Miss Sundance.” He stammered a bit, still blushing and mispronouncing the ice cream on purpose, giving her another kiss on her cheek and taking a sip of his whiskey, the booze burning slowly through his throat.
Saskia’s friend on the other hand, appeared to be able to drink both of them under the table, judging from the pace she drank her booze, provoking a remark from Saskia, comparing her friend to that certain dwarf who could probably also hold his liquor, despite his size.
When Saskia gazed back at her friend she continued her remarks on the drinking behaviour of the girl, mentioning the AA and a relapse. “So, dear… are you really wanting to prevent her from a relapse into the drink or… might you be a tad jealous that she might drink you under?” Bailin said teasing as he stood up from his barstool and but both arms around her waist. The remarks continued on for a bit until something caught Saskia’s eye, directing his attention to it as well by tapping on his shoulder.
“Yes, I think he is, glad to see he’s joined the party as well.” Bailin said smiling; silently hoping that when he met Cortana a next time she wouldn’t give him another set of neckwarmers. Slipping out of his thoughts Bailin barely noticed that Saskia had invited the known figure over for drinks.

It was that time of year. The time of year that people in the real world usually got together and exchanged gifts and ate lots of food and be merry doing it. That's right, it was Christmas and Ame had caught word of a Ball that would be taking place in Snowdonia, a place she had yet to visit. As she looked at the flyer that had, as always, blown into her face as she was wandering the streets of Lindonium, her eyes sprang open and she let in a sharp gasp. This was the kind of event that she had been waiting for. Sure, the wedding she had gone to was nice, but she hadn't had proper attire. This time, however, she would be ready! With the Ball taking place in three days, she had to get it done quickly, so she got to work visiting local Lander's shops. She knew she probably wouldn't have much time on her hands, but she needed to get something together quick and she had a plan set in her mind. The plan had been set, but if she didn't do it correctly, this could go sour. She let out a mischievous giggle from her throat and went off to find the things she needed. As time flew by, it came to be the day of the Christmas Ball. Ame found herself prepared with everything she would need, but there was one more thing she had to do. This would prove to be the most difficult task she had possibly ever done in her entire life, the one here in Elder Tale, and in the real world. She took in a deep breath as she opened a door to a shop just within the boundaries of Lindonium. The familiar bell wrang and she took a step inside. She walked over to the familiar papers sitting on a small table and then turned away from it. She didn't dare call out a name, or speak, because she knew if she did, her chances would be slim of getting the attention of the person she had come to see. She walked back to the door and after a few minutes, opened it. She let the door close, but remained inside, heading over to a stone wall. She silently waited patiently, until she heard the wall begin to push open. She felt a smirk reach her face and as the wall opened just enough, she slipped herself into the crack of it. There, she met the surprised gaze of the lone assassin that she had become rather familiar with. She watched as he let go of the door, letting it close behind her and by the look on his face once the surprise of her being there had warn off, it was unexpected. She watched his eyes narrow into slits as he looked at her quite angrily. " What the hell do you think you're doing?" His tone of voice was the same as his face had been, hard, yet she just smiled at him. " Well, it's nice to see you too Saber." She let out a giggle and began to head down the stairs. She felt herself tugged back slightly, however, as the assassin took her by the wrist. " You can't just barge into other people's homes. You need to leave. Now." She could tell he was aggravated and really, she knew he had every right, but she shook her head. " This is the only way I know how to get in touch with you, since you haven't added me onto your friends list, so blame yourself." She gave him a sly, slightly evil smirk and grabbed the wrist of his that was holding onto hers and began to pull. " Besides, I have serious business to discuss with you." She knew that these words would allow her entrance, and to her it was kind of serious, but if she had outright said why she was here, she would never get what she wanted and he would probably kick her out right away. Either way, he let go of her wrist and pulled his away. " Fine." As they reached the wide table that she had sat at once before as he made her weapon, she sat down and waited for him to follow, which he did. She watched him look her over as he leaned back, clearly agitated by her arrival and seemingly tired from his days work. " What do you want now? You're weapon break? I told you I wouldn't fix it if it did.." Ame shook her head at him and went pretty much straight to the point, especially since she didn't have much time left. " You need a day off, a day to have fun, so, I'm here to give it to you. We're going to the Christmas Ball together." No, she wasn't there to ask him, she was there to tell him and that was exactly what she did and the look he gave her was quite hysterical as he seemingly froze up. " Christmas... Ball? What the hell are you talking about? I am not going to that stupid ball." He rumbled and snarled at her, his eyes slitting again as he denied her. She stood up too and put her hands on the table, palms down. " Yes. You are. Please!" She looked at him with a pouted face, tears growing in the corner of her eyes. " Please come with me! It will be fun, I promise! I already got you something to wear and everything!" As she spoke, she opened her inventory and clicked on a suit. It came folded on the table, a black suit with a red shirt and a green tie. A pair of sleek, black shoes came beside it and once they appeared, she closed her inventory. She watched Sabers' face, full of what could have been fear, as he shook his head. " There's no way in hell I am not going. And I wouldn't wear that thing even if you paid me." Ame eyed him carefully as she picked up the suit. " Oh, you are going.. and you are going to wear this!" She pounced over the table and grabbed onto him, taking a firm hold of his shirt. " You will wear this even if I have to put it on you myself!" She pulled his shirt up over his head, even though he tried to fight back, his arms and legs squirming to be free. She threw the shirt away so that he couldn't reach it and eyed him as he glared up at her. She met his glare with her own and took a hold of the button to his pants. " Give in, or I strip you Saber. I will not ask again. You need to have fun! You look exhausted and you're always working on something. Everyone needs a break sometimes!" She looked down at him for a moment before her face became a bright pink and she looked to the floor. " P- Plus, I really w- want you to come with me.. As my date.." She sighed lightly and slowly moved her eyes over to his face. She watched him, a hand covering his face, breathing heavily. She wondered what he was thinking about, wondered if her plan would work, but as he sighed and took his hand away, a defeated expression crossing his face, she smiled, only as he spoke. " Since I know you won't give up, fine. I'll go. But I can put my own clothes on..." Ame felt her face flush as she realized that she was straddling him, his shirt off and her hands on the top of his pants. She took her hands away quickly and pulled herself up. " G- Good. And, uhm, sorry, for being so forceful.." Her entire face was as red as the red bulbs she often saw on Christmas trees. He told her to turn around, and she did, but then she added, " I'll change now too so, you don't look either!" Whether he looked or not, she wouldn't know. When they both gave the okay, she turned around, unveiling her dress to him. She opened her inventory again and placed her battle gear into it but her eyes widened as she looked at the time in the corner of her screen. " Oh My Goodness! We need to go, now!" They would have to get there on foot, and no doubt, they were going to be super late! The Ball would have just about begun and they wouldn't make it for another hour or two! She sighed and grabbed onto Saber's wrist, using [Call to Home] to teleport them to the front gates where her house was. She rushed him out of her house, and into the wilderness. Her red, six inch, heels would have probably killed her if it were the real world, but here, it made her feel like she was walking on a cloud, well, not really walking, but running, quickly. As they arrived at the front doors of the hall where the Ball was to be held, she sighed. She knew she was late and she felt rather upset about it, but at least she was here. She looked over to Saber and smiled to him, taking in a deep breath. " Are you ready?" She waited for a moment before he nodded his head, still sulking that she had dragged him all the way there, and opened the doors, stepping inside, Saber's hand in hers. She took in a deep breath and looked around the Hall. It was huge, beautiful! There were a lot of people there. Some she knew well, some she knew a little and even some that she didn't know at all. She couldn't help but smile at the large group of people as she stood in awe, staring into the large room. She felt slightly paralyzed by the sight of the beauty before her. It was such a happy sight, people talking and dancing. The feeling ran through her and she felt her hand tighten slightly around Saber's as excitement filled her and she looked over to him again. Do you believe in ghosts? “I’m still not wearing that suit…” Saber thought to himself as he and Kitty turned their backs to one another. The Assassin rumbled to himself and looked down at the attire which had been created for him to wear, though, it wasn’t something he could ever see himself in. Nor was it something he really wanted to ever put on. The Assassin wore the clothes he did because they were comfortable and because he was content with not looking like one of the higher-class people. He also liked to be comfortable. From the things he had heard, suits were the complete opposite of comfortable unless they were created to be a certain size and shape to match his exact figure. Seeing as Kitty had not taken him out shopping, there was no way the clothing items in his hands were anywhere near that. And so, he deposited the clothes into his inventory and released a sigh.
Once his hands were empty, he looked over his shoulder to see how far along Kitty was; it was a horrible mistake. Upon looking, his eyes became glued to her bare backside. His chest tightened and his breathing stopped… Damn. After a few seconds, he turned his head forward and proceeded with his own changing of clothes. He felt hot now all of a sudden, but he knew that if he waited too long then Kitty would turn around while he was in the middle of changing. That he wouldn’t allow, and so he quickly removed the rest of his clothes and summoned forth his own “formal attire”. It was actually more of a dumbed down battle dress wear, something he had a friendly neighborhood Battle Maid tailor for him just in case of some strange occasion where he couldn’t look like a scrub; an occasion such as this ball which he had so desperately wished to avoid and planned to avoid from the beginning. Yet, the curveball of life hit him in the gut again and Kitty appeared… again. Now, he was stuck going. Fantastic.
Just as he finished changing, he heard the woman shout something about needing to leave immediately? Oh, now she cared? Saber rumbled and began to turn around, but stopped midway as his vision was filled with the sight of a beautifully colored red dress, and the woman who was wearing it. He froze up, his heart thudded against his chest, and the brave lone player was paralyzed as he stared at the blonde in front of him. His jaw went to open, but remained locked as he stared at her. Time slowed as he took in the sight of the wonderful lady in front of him, until suddenly light engulfed him. A second later, he was running.
Kitty tugged on his wrist, pulling the Assassin along as he continued to stare at her. Every thought in his mind vanished, leaving him the instant it appeared and he couldn’t think of anything to say. Not a word that came to his mind made its way to his lungs. Somewhere along the way, it was all lost and Saber remained silent. He was quiet the entire time as Kitty dragged him to the location of where the ball was, and he couldn’t remember anything about the entire trip. All he remembered was the fact that Kitty was tugging him and that they were moving. How fast? He didn’t know. How far? He didn’t know that either. But did Kitty look good? Oh hell yes. He probably looked like a scrub, but damn she was beautiful. And that was when he began to wonder…
Why him?
He didn’t ask though, and instead grabbed onto her hand as they reached the doors to the ball. She looked at him with a smile, and took in a breath. Saber simply stared at her for a little longer, and then looked towards the door. As she asked if he was prepared to essentially throw himself into a situation he never wanted to ever be in, he reluctantly nodded his head. Then, he led the woman through the doors. He gave them both a hard push, opening them up for his “date” and allowed her to walk in before him, her path inside open and clear. Though, as she walked forward, he kept to her side.
As expected, there were people everywhere. His stomach clenched and his face hardened. Yet, this was the place Kitty had so desperately begged him to go to, and so he showed his face. Albeit reluctantly, but that wasn’t up to him now was it? Even as Kitty asked him to go on, he still considered turning and burning… but he had come all this way. There was no point in bailing now. So, he laced his fingers with Kitty’s and nodded to her.
“Might as well…” Since there were people already dancing and music was playing, Saber gently pulled Kitty out onto the floor. He saw a few familiar faces, but he turned away from them all almost the instant he stepped out with Kitty. His eyes fell onto the woman he was with and one of his hands slid across her waist. Then, he reminded himself of the few times his mother had danced with him as a baby. With the pictures and the pace in mind, he pulled Kitty a little closer to him and took in a deep breath…
“You are one beautiful lady, Kitty…” With that, he started to guide her along with the music.

Ryuu’s example of starting the dancing had led to other people joining in. Ryuu didn’t mind setting the trends for people. He loved taking the initiative, and it so happened that people didn’t mind dancing as well. Even those you would least expect had joined in as well. He enjoyed the time with Kyuu the most. It wasn’t often that they got to spend time like this, dancing their cares away and doing something remotely romantic. He was happy being able to do romantic things with his wife. They were married for a few months now, and they were learning from each other gradually. That’s what relations were all about, being able to learn from each other. To know each other’s weaknesses and strengths. To help each other when no one else would believe in you. That was the meaning of love. To be able to do stupid things together and have a laugh about it. Ryuu smiled at his wife. She mentioned about a mannequin, and Ryuu spun the pair so that he could face the mannequins that she was talking about. “It’s okay, baby, it’s just a puppet. It won’t hurt you, I promise,” he said. He pulled her closer to him so that he could assure her that he was there to comfort her and protect her. “I will protect you, I promise,” he assured her. Ryuu allowed her to lean in on him and lay her head on his chest. He hoped it would create a bit of assurance to her if his words weren’t enough. The warmth he created would hopefully give her a comfort that not many would be able to claim that they knew of. Ryuu wanted to be more romantic with Kyuu, and it seemed that Kyuu was finally being receptive and romantic as well. Ryuu didn’t mind. Ryuu also loved the times when she was scared or afraid, allowing Ryuu to take the role of a man and to look after her and claim to protect her. No less, he had his own fears and she knew them as well. She had gotten him out of many pickles before and those moments wouldn’t be the last. With that, Ryuu continued to dance with his wife merrily. He saw that several others began to join in as well. First, the dwarf asked Midori to dance. Ryuu gave him a nod to show him that he approved of Tobin for taking the initiative as well as attempting to build relations with their allied guild. It seemed that things were going well here. However, as he looked around, while dancing, he noticed that the leaders of other guilds were not present. He wondered why, since this ball was held in an attempt to bring all players together. He had figured that the guild leaders would at least make an appearance here. Ryuu shook his head and looked back at his wife. His attention should be on the beautiful flower in front of him, and nothing else. His attention on the other people could wait. Besides, if he didn’t pay attention to his wife, she’d kill him. He had to pay attention to her if he wanted to sleep in his bed tonight.
