The Log Horizon second season has ended and so there's bound to be a number of RPers out there wanting more from the LH universe. So while it's still fresh in their minds, I believe it's the right time to have an advertisement event. Here are the steps for advertising in this event:
1. You will start off by going to this page, which contains our site's advertisement message. This message comes in three versions depending on the site you shall post it on. Keep note of the differences and make sure you use the right one.
2. Visit another RP forum. Look for a subforum on their forum dealing with Advertisements. Specifically, you will be looking for a subforum that is usually called "Advertisement". Make sure you're not replying to their "Link Back" subforum, because that is the wrong place and we have a different thread meant for that. Use your common sense and read the subforum description to make sure you're posting in the right place.
3. This next step is probably the hardest part. I suggest you start off by glancing at their Link Back subforum and making sure that we have not already posted our own ad to their site recently. If we have, I would suggest you find a different site. If you don't see anything, check their Advertisement subforum next. Make sure no one has posted an advertisement recently to that site (you will typically be looking on the first two pages of threads). If you see that someone's already made an advertisement, please find another site to advertise on. If not, then you may proceed.
4. For the forum, note which site is the server host. Most of the sites you'll come across will be proboards.com, boards.net, jcink.com, or forumotion.com.
5. Go back to our Advertisement page. Click on the respective ad corresponding to the site (for example, if the site is on Jcink, you will use the Jcink ad) and copy the ad.
6. Most sites should allow you to create a new thread in the Advertisement subforum without having to register or log in. While on the site's Advertisement subforum, you will then click to create a New Thread. Enter your LHRP forum name and title the thread with our RP site name. I personally use [Elder Tale: The Unfounded Kingdom - a log horizon rp] when posting. Before you post the thread, I recommend that you click the Preview Post button or tab to make sure that the advertisement looks good before you post it.
7. Save the URL of the advertisement you just made, because you will need it to claim rewards.
8. If for some reason, you've made advertisements for us before, you may link to those posts too if you still have them. Make sure those sites are not down when you post them here.
Make sure to follow the rules of other RP sites. If we receive any complaints that you have not properly advertised or bothered their members, you may be subject to penalties.
Rewards.
Once you have made at least 10 Advertisements on other RP forums, please reply to this thread with the links you saved from Step 7 above.
Once you make 10 advertisements, you will then receive an Easter Charm which is valid until April 30th, 11:59 PM PST. It works like a Coconia Charm from the Valentine's Event, boosting any word counts you earn from threads by 10%. This bonus goes up to +20% if two people in the thread (including you) possess Easter Charms, +30% if three people, up to 50% if there are five people with Easter Charms! This bonus stacks with other bonuses like Mentor Threads (for a total of +35%) or Guild/Alliance Threads (for a total of +30% / +40% depending on conditions), up to a maximum of +50% total from all bonuses applied. So it would be advantageous for you to bug your fellow threadmates to participate.
This charm is valid for only the RP character who posted the 10 advertisements. So if you want an Easter Charm on another character, you'll need to find 10 more sites and post ads on there as well. Also, keep in mind that the Easter Charm AP bonus is not retroactive. It will take place immediately once you claim 10 ads (you do not have to wait for mod approval to provisionally claim it) and only the posts you make afterward will qualify for the bonus.
Those of you who post 20 ads will receive a more special prize at the end of the event. It will consist of an exclusive event skill and accessory as thanks for your dedication.
