Appearance

Pavi is someone that you see, and tend to trust instinctively. He has a simple, open face that encourages people to open up. His body language as a whole seems to have a "how can I help?" vibe. 

Speaking of his body, Pavi's elven body is tall and well developed. He is not a trim person, nor is he overweight. Pavi's body comfortably holds its muscles behind a thin layer of healthy pudge, giving his body a 'young tradesman' sort of body. It is tanned from his heavy hours in nature, and his hands are well calloused from daily use. He stands just shy of 6 feet, and his elven ears sweep upwards rather than outwards.

He wears the uniform of the messenger troupe he is part of; a blue fisherman's hat which has a steel mesh woven underneath it. He has a comfortable blue jerkin which has the left sleeve long and the right sleeve short, so he can fire without needing to worry about his clothes catching in the mechanisms. This jerkin is in turn covered by a blue tabard whcih goes over each shoulder and down to mid-thigh. In turn, over this he wears a breastplate with the left side of his arm similarly protected.  Both legs are protected by full metal greaves. 

While this armour is heavy, it keeps the messengers alive whilst travelling outside of Lune, so the messengers quickly find their CON score improving until they can properly handle moving in the heavy armour for long periods of time. 

Over all of thees clothes hands Pavi's heavy bandoleir. It distributes the weight across his entire chest and back for the heavy backpack he wears. This backpack is primarily a quiver and case for his heavy crossobow and its yard-long bolts.  Several tubes holding scrolls, maps and other deliverable items are often found in there. Other satchels are across his person depending on the number of jobs he has going at any one point in time.

Finally, his shikigami. It is said to embody his inner spirit, his soul and essence in a foxtail form. For him, it appears to be elderly gentleman weighed down by his age and responsibilities. Dozens of transparent, simplified spirits hover over its hunched back. The shikigami moans and grumps, rarely speaking full sentances. As such, Pavi rarely uses it in battle.

Personality

Pavi has lived through enough to smooth out his personality. He is not prone to large gestures or outbursts, being mostly a sedate man. This means unfortunately that in most of his encounters people find him forgettable as he lacks the passion in his eyes and voice to leave a strong impression. To a select few they will remember Pavi for the gentle kindness and willingness to help that he provides.

Pavi is generally considered by his community to be a serious, kind-hearted mailman who is truly devoted to his job. In reality he can be reluctant to help people, but listens to the goadings of the spirits and will give aid. At times he will give someone a bit of a stink eye if they demand a difficult job is done urgently, but he will never refuse a job provided to him. He does not refuse jobs jobs as he has a deeply held conviction that he should have died at a much younger age, and that therefore he should use this extra time to help people & the spirits. If push ever came to shove though, Pavi would assist a spirit over a person as it was they who saved him so long ago. As a corollary this is where his quiet enjoyment of wind comes from.

While Pavi is both kind & hard working, he is also judgmental. He makes snap decisions about people, and can be quite reluctant to change them. He feels he has good intuition about someone, especially customers who use his services for short-distance courier work.

As Pavi spends so long on the road, when he is with others he makes up for lost time. He will listen avidly to stories, join in on less frivolous shenanigans, or just happily chill with someone. He has a particular passion for talking with people in windy areas, where they need to stand closer together, as it combines his love for both the winds & for conversation.

His feelings for Lune are complex. He is a dedicate of the Green suburbs and has an attachment to the winds. He enjoys hiring hang gliders and the freedom that his district encourages. However, as someone who travels frequently through all the districts he does not like the current, discriminatory mood that is permeating the city.

Combat Style

Pavi relies primarily on his heavy, strong crossbow. It has been enhanced to have a higher range & attack power at the cost of a slower attack speed. Pavi relies on these slow, hard hitting bolts to take out opponents before they become a threat.

Should an enemy reach him, Pavi uses his barriers. He places these as close to himself or their target as possible, as the further away a barrier is from the caster, the longer it takes to appear. The difference is almost negligible, but Pavi feels each microsecond could spell the difference between his life & death. His other motions in combat as similarly minimalistic; there is no flair or excess motions. Each motion has been minimised and practiced until it can be performed under pressure. 

This paints Pavi as a cold, impassionate sniper, but this is not the case. Pavi will often try to merely scare off enemies, or disable them for long enough so that he can escape. He therefore has an overall low level of AP given the number of encounters he has been in.

Extra

- Pavi is a well known, prominent mailman. His [STR] is high enough to carry significant weights and his [CON] is high enough to maintain a jog for hours.
- His Shikigami Spirit spirit resembles an older gentleman.
-Due to the size of his crossbow bolts he keeps them in a dedicated, large quiver strapped to his back
- He can see and speak to spirits, invisible to most other people.
- He channels spirits to perform shamanic skills. As such with each skill learned another spirit begins to invisibly follow him around.

Biography

Pavi was born in the Green district to two moderately successful parents. They farmed their land part time, using their free time to go hang-gliding and encourage greater negotiations between the districts. They volunteered in orange and purple district events, and generally tried to emphasize the idea of the Lune city state, not the districts. This meant that they raised Pavi to see the people of his nation of Luners, not as a Blue or as a Red. Prior to schooling he has friends in most every district, and would play with them when his parents dropped him off at the various daycares. It was only when he joined the local Green schooling, that he learned the error of his ways. For a time he was teased about not being a Green patriot. The young Pavi learned quickly; appease the masses for an easy life, and keep your opinions to yourself. He let his opinions be shaped by those he was around at any given time; so at school he was a Green through and through, and at home he encouraged his parents to further the idea of the greater Lune identity. He found no contradiction in his actions, indeed he felt that he was simply encouraging the people around him to do as they felt best.

He graduated from school, and began work on the Lune Magitech Monorail. His parents approved as it was a job that sent him through all of the districts, and the workers there identified primarily as rail workers, not by district. Several months into the job, he contracted an illness. Physicians, clerics and druids were all called in to try to cure it, but the illness did not improve. Over a week it got steadily worse, until he was suffering from intense fevers. His parents were told that he would not recover, and if he did he would likely be crippled for life due to the illness damaging his nerves. Pavi sufferred, his fevers only broken with brief lucid periods where he could feel his nerves rotting away. The pain was intense, and would soon send him into another fever. During this time, he had his Awakening. He dreamt of a spirit coming down to his bed and taking his spirit from his body. Together they went on a journey, facing starvation, harsh elements and deprivation. The journey seemed to take both decades and only seconds to complete, finalising with Pavi requiring to throw himself into an inferno.

He awoke.

His fever was broken, and across the next few days his body miraculously repaired itself. The druids, physicians and clerics could not explain it, while the shamans who had been called only gave Pavi slow, side-long looks. They knew what it meant; he was spirit touched. Someone destined to die was at time chosen by the spirits. Their body would be repaired and they would be given a new life. In return, the the spirit-touched would be forever indebted the spirits; a glorified slave. It took Pavi time to learn of his new powers; but by briefly calling on a spirit he could make barriers to protect others, or improve his own body to fight harder to run faster. He changed occupations, becoming a government courier for the Green District, and soon enough also become a courier for many of the other districts. Pavi became well known as a determined, reliable, shut-mouthed courier who did his work and never gossiped.

All was working well for Pavi, until the day of the Genius Invasion. A strange swarm of sentient, malicous hornets appeared in the Blue District. They killed many, and during the defence of the city many suburbs were damaged. Pavi found a portal, said to move between time and place. He now has new horizons opening up for him; the spirits goad him to move between both Lune and Londinium, for this is much work to be done.

Inventory

EQUIPMENT

Siege Crossbow.
A crossbow said to have destroyed a castle wall, this 2 handed crossbow has an increased load time to balance its huge attack power. It requires 2 hands and a significant STR stat to be able to carry its weight. Uses siege-sized bolts.

Armour of Ghostly Whispers
Chainmail armour which has been blessed by Archbishop Goss of the White District. It can be worn with all the uniforms of the Lune government, so had been designed to be worn partially under and partially over the top of other clothes. It is said to give protection from bad luck.  

Emblem of Perception: Lv30 accessory.
A crest of the Lune Seaport, given out to those who wish to expand and improve their profession. When equipped, it allows wearers to equip weapons and armor up to the level of their roleplay subclass's level rather than their main class level.

SKILLS

Damage Interception
A barrier skill known as the signature move of the Shaman. Forms either a stationary barrier or a barrier around a target that continues to exist until the "energy" of the barrier expires. Energy will decrease slowly over time and decrease from damage taken. This skill has a casting time of 1.5 seconds and a cooldown of 5 seconds.

Purgatory Barrier
This skill is initiated by casting the spell and creating a small sphere that can be thrown at a character or object. Upon contact, the sphere will form a barrier around the target and causes it to float about two meters into the air, suspending the target in mid-air inside the barrier. The barrier is broken as soon as it is struck by any sort of attack, giving it the fan name of "Purgatory Bubble." Of course, once the barrier is broken, the target will fall the full two meters, causing minor fall damage. This skill has a casting time of 3 seconds, a maximum duration of 5 seconds, and a cooldown of 15 seconds.

Cardinal Rose
A skill that distinguishes a character's ability to be a good navigator. It is a toggle skill that uses a negligible amount of mana when it is activated, causing an icon of a compass to appear in the bottom right corner of the character's vision. As long as this skill is active, the character will always know which direction is north. This skill is particularly effective when exploring in uncharted territory.

Summon Shikigami
The Shaman calls forth a shikigami, a humanoid familiar spirit, in a solid form. The appearance of a Shikigami varies from Shaman to Shaman, but typically they resemble humans with pronounced animal-like features similar to Fox Tails that normally wear Eastern traditional clothing. They are normally said to have a personality and body representative of the Shaman's inner self. This means that while some Shikigami will resemble their masters, others may look vastly different and may even be of the opposite gender. For Shamans who employ more than one Shikigami, each particular Shikigami will still look distinct but will seem to be like siblings. As a Shikigami is representative of the true self, it can speak and understand the languages that the Shaman may speak. Shikigami are usually used in a support role, with tasks ranging from off-tanking to scouts to support DPS. There is a wide range of shikigami that a Shaman can summon, and they last for 5 minutes. In the original game, shikigami were treated as bonus content for players, with little to no practical use. However, after the Catastrophe, shikigami now share the same sensations with their masters, allowing shikigami to serve reconnaissance roles in battle. Of course, there are shikigami that are well-loved by many as mascots. This skill has a casting time of 5 seconds. Only one Shikigami may be summoned at a time.

Demon's Eye
This skill when activated will slightly increases accuracy rate of the user's weapons. It also causes the weapon to be immune to hit spirit-type mobs whom normally nullify incoming physical damage. Of course, a successful hit requires an active attack towards a desired foe regardless. There was one time when the developers received e-mails saying that "I've used the Demon's Eye and I still keep on missing on ghost mobs!" among others. For this reason, several balance changes were implemented. When used, this skill adds a blue radiance on one's eyes, a rather scary sight post-Catastrophe. This skill has a casting time of 4 seconds, a duration of 60 seconds, and a cooldown of 70 seconds.

Arrow Revolver
A technique developed by a legendary marksman, this bow skill allows an archer to reserve up to five arrows to be fired. The arrows in reserve are levitated in the air beside the bow using the power of mana. Whenever the user should then fire an arrow, the next one will quickly load itself into the slot of the bow, allowing for optimized rapid fire. Arrow Revolver may also be used with a firearms weapon, causing a single round to load itself into the chamber after each shot. This skill has a casting time of 3 seconds and a cooldown of 20 seconds.

Art of a Heavenly Laden Brush
Bow Skill. A projectile based skill that is enchanted onto an arrow and initiates an aura barrier on contact. The aura then proceeds to slow those who come within range, making targets feel as though their gear weighs heavier than it should. The barrier aura is broken when either the arrow is removed or the caster is damaged. Range of the aura has a radius of one meter from the arrow’s location, regardless of if the location is mobile. This skill has a casting time of 2 seconds and a cooldown of 20 seconds.

Crash Shot
A bow or firearms skill where the user aims slightly upward and then releases the string or fires the trigger. As the projectile descends downward, it explodes into multiple small fragments which somehow retain all the force of the original shot, making this burst of tiny shrapnel deceptively powerful. It will damage all possible targets within a 5 meter radius, so be sure your allies are out of the way before you strike. This skill has an animation time of 2.5 seconds and a cooldown of 10 seconds.

Craft

Timber:
Toggle skill. Woodcrafters naturally have an affinity for chopping and carving wood, making their abilities key in harming monsters that happen to be arboreal in nature. Woodcrafters deal 20% more damage to Plant-type monsters. They can also cancel buffs on Plant-type monsters upon a successful hit.

Quick Construction:
 In certain situations, the Woodcrafter may require their works to be created not with sturdiness in mind, but with speed. This allows them to create temporary structures such as stairs, walls, and bridges in a fraction of the usual time needed. Of course, these structures are not a long-term solution for an actual craft, as they fall apart very quickly with usage or damage. If left alone, a structure would probably last for an hour but with a couple of uses, the durability would drop to a few minutes.

Roleplay

Checkpoint
When you're supposed to be delivering items all over the country, you need to be able to keep track of where your clients are supposed to be! This toggle skill scans the Courier's quest log and notifies them of each destination point or individual they need to meet with in order to complete the quest. This works as a tall pillar of light that can be seen from up to 100 meters away. Additionally, if the Courtier possesses a map of the list, these points are marked with a [QUEST] icon. Only the Courier is able to see these details.

Express Delivery
The Courier may perform this skill to double their movement speed for 15 seconds. This skill has a cooldown of 30 seconds and automatically deactivates whenever the Courier is engaging in battle or is targeted by an enemy. Checkpoint's range also passively increases by 100 meters.

Backtrack
A skill that causes the Courier to be able to envision the past hour's worth of travel seen from their own eyes, accelerated in the timespan of about a minute. This skill is obviously quite useful for a Courier to remember the routes and actions they took recently. It is not very effective for remembering anything that the Courier did not pay very close attention to, however. Backtrack has a casting time of 5 seconds, a duration of 60 seconds, and a cooldown of 5 minutes. If the Courier makes any manual movement while Backtrack is active, the vision is stopped.
