[Fenrir] was looking mighty indeed. Despite the injuries it had sustained while facing the Adventurers, it had continued to swat at them like a person would swat at flies, flinging melee Adventurers everywhere while spells rained down upon its back as it continued a wrestle of gigantic proportions with an equally massive squid. It was probably single-handedly the strongest Raid boss he had ever seen, both in majesty and strength. Then again, he had not the opportunity to see many a Raid boss. Maybe each fight was as intense as this? Probably a lot more coordinated though. As the stream of Adventurers stopped flowing in, the people already here had began to organize themselves, each attempting to perform what their class had intended for them to do. It was somewhat surprising how Adventurers could simply be thrown into a messy battle and slowly organize themselves to take it down. Heck, did anyone even question why they were brought here? It certainly seemed like a question he would want answered. In any case, the legendary wolf did not seem to be in the mood for answering his questions, though if the legends were anything to go by, it was probably highly intelligent. If it were, though, why did it attack them? Could it be possible that some Adventurer had panicked and attacked him first? It was unlikely, since it was labelled as a [Legendary Boss]. If it were not dangerous, it would probably have a better label like [Legendary Wolf], or something. And that still did not explain the kidnapping of the children. He briefly considered whether he should switch to ranged attacks, then decided against it. His melee weapons were much stronger than his ranged weapons, and as long as he could take the hits, he should deal as much damage as possible while hoping that some healer would heal him when his health is low. Could he die in this strange realm? He certainly hoped not. Just as he was about to dive into the fray once more, [Fenrir] let loose a massive roar, and with a claw coated in pure black darkness, struck out at the Kraken. Nope nope nope, not going near that thing. He put away the [Sword of the Unconquered One], then drew [The Zodiac] and began to hit [Fenrir] from afar, which was not too difficult to do since he was attempting to hit a massive wolf which looked to be the size of his house and more. Without the cards to tell him where to hit, he could only fling knives randomly at the wolf just to deal a little damage to it. It was probably miniscule, but still worth something, right? The pumpkin floating around him cackled loudly at that very moment, as if it enjoyed the massive confusing fight that was going on right now. Did it have a mind of its own? Probably. He wondered how his cloak could summon sentient beings passively though. Maybe it was actually more powerful than it looked. He would have to look into it at a later date.

Kaos stood in disbelief for a moment after being transported out of harms way, assuming he had taken damage. He looked at his HP bar and saw otherwise, another player had taken the damage for him a debt that was about to be replayed. He stared at Fenrir and smirked as a black circle appeared on the ground, several lines flowed around inside it as they finally set into a pattern. A black blob formed out of the circle and quivered a bit as a red crescent creep across it in a wry smile. The blob rose up several meters and began to reshape into the great wolf in front of them. Kaos had summoned a doppelganger that, as contracted, took the form of his enemy.
The two mighty wolves stared each other down as the doppelganger finally finished morphing into its final shape. It was the exact mirror of Fenrir, jet black with red, piercing eyes and a bright red grin across its face. The doppelganger snarled and roared at Fenrir, provoking it as the Kraken slithered its way behind it. After finding its place behind the distracted wolf, and surprisingly avoiding the adventurers, he pulled bact his tentacles and prepared to attack. His tentacles snap forward with blinding speed, the teeth on the end of its club dig into the giant wolf's shoulders. The giant squid begins to pull at Fenrir, trying to bring him down or position him self to climb on top of the creature. Fenrir rears back from the sheer weight of the Kraken and swings its [Megaton Tail] down on the beast, knocking it free and stunning it for two secondsbefore turning its attention back to the giant shadowy copy of itself.

A fierce battle has been unfold upon the young bard’s eye; everything comes really fast. A lot of new adventurers come join hand to defeat this ‘supposedly’ mythical beast. Yeah, even if it is happened in front of his eyes, he just couldn’t swallow all the information that he just witness.
There are bunch of people facing the beast, none of them that he knows except Sayha the Assassin and Dorian the young Shaman. There is two guardians in sight who busy taking the role of tank, which is the best strategy for now, an enchanter, a heretics, a samurai, an assassin other than Sayha, and a…Kraken??. There is a freaking giant kraken that rampages around the humongous beast, which leaves a question mark on Lamenta’s brain
‘From where did that come from?’ Not far from the kraken stand a silver haired guy and taller than him. The Bard guesses the kraken comes from him, since he was a summoner.
‘Dude is that thing yours? That’s freaking awesome’
The guy didn’t mutter any word not even at least say yes, he just nod to confirm it. Lamenta’s decide to ignore it, he right now feel invigorated. Dorian’s has set up [Health pulse] earlier that heal him to 100%
[Fenrir] is tougher than what he though up first, yeah he knows that [Fenrir] is the legendary boss and should have a strength that liven up to his name. But the brute strength of his is out of the world. Although there are many adventurers ganging up around him, he still manage stand strong and swept everyone in a single swat like he everyone is a small matter to him.
Suddenly, The summoner does something unexpected. A shadow merges out from the ground turning shapes to the same figures as the beast we are currently facing. An exact same of [Fenrir] . The bard can’t help himself to hype out witnessing the event that just occurred.
The doppelganger snarled and roars to the original and provokes it alongside with the Kraken, which goes sneaky behind the creature.
There is no way for Lamenta’s to slip off this moment, he flex his arm and dash toward the wolf.

He couldn't wake up. Inside of this stuffy, frigid winter wonderland -- more of a nightmare, really -- the sandy snow nipped away at the skin on his face, each pained breath coming through the filter of his scarf, which he rapidly made to cover his face with. He bit at the wetness of the cloth, challenging himself to take his lucidity back by force.
It wouldn't come. Dread crept upon him and ate away harder than any chill the wintry weather brought with it. The fear of once more being isolated in a setting, caught unawares -- the very idea churned his stomach. He naturally countered. Within him, there was a passion boiling. It was enough to make him break free of the snow he had become covered in, gasping for air the whole while.
He had been swept underneath a snowdrift by the beast itself. The battle had gone on long enough for anyone to become exhausted, but it was such that he didn't very much care for its conclusion. Preferring simply not to die, he didn't take much note of others' faces, identities, or of whatever plans they might have in store.
Simply put, he was a-okay with letting this dream have its way with them. He imagined that they were all in similar positions, tired, fallen asleep near the comfort of a hearth -- only to be abruptly startled by the responsibility placed upon them. Given that the rest seemed to be doing well enough without him, he backed away, hoping to mitigate as much damage to himself as possible.
The rifle in his hands still had five shots within its magazine. Enough that he would be able to pop off a few shots if the beast neared him, but he heeded that thought only slightly. Without any damage on his part, he doubted the freak of nature would even give him the time of day (night?), and if he played the part of the observer, then all would be well.
He backed against a tree, and waited. Post by Sark on Dec 13, 2015 12:02:12 GMT
It was getting close to Christmas back in the previous world; a time when he would be furiously studying for mid-year exams, a time when the walk to school would be a marathon of clothes-soaking rain and chilly bus seats. The porcelin toilet seats would have been cold, and the guitar strings would have been like razor wire. All in all, a bad time of year for a student in the North of England.
Yet here, Sark loved it. He had few responsibilities and was in his own boss in most everything. In addition the game-come-universe came pre-supplied with seasonal cheer. As per their annual schedule (first devised by the owners of the video game) a team of Locals had arrived in Londinium by sled and erected a massive Christmas tree right in the heart of the new city. The adventurers had then expanded on the system's event by setting up new stalls, singing old songs and making snow men. The heart of the city had happy, care-free people giving out gifts and enjoying the perfect joy of having hot food on a cold day.
It made Sark feel warm inside; everyone for once was as happy as he was. He had spent his evening in a local Inn, trading stories with some Locals about how far they could throw stones and what they thought kissing a girl would be like, before moaning about how hard it was to find a nice girl. The spiced wine and cider had flowed freely. Some of the drinks had tasted a bit off, but he'd been told that Mulled 'Patridge In the Pear Tree' Cider was the best of the best, so he had not complained.
After that point, Sark's memory was a bit hazy. He wasn't sure how he'd ended up in the middle of a snowfield, but he had been on more than one drunken adventure in the past, so put that issue aside. His wits slowly returned to the samurai, who found his arms shaking and his fingers almost numb. These he jammed into his wide obi, a silk construction he had made to help protect him against the elements. With nothing better to do, the samurai started to crunch his way back towards where he hoped his warm bed was.
Going through the snow proved difficult; at four foot high he was a midget by real world standards, and this new universe was no kinder to people of a shorter stature. To take each step he had to lift his knee up to his chest and bodily throw himself forward, crunching through the thick, crisp snow. It was slow, exhausting work and not the sort of thing to do after a night of heavy drinking. Lost in his own world this way, he failed to hear the sounds of battle. It was only when there was the distinct clck of the system converting from 'passive' to 'battle' mode that Sark took in his surroundings. He was at the mouth of a cave where about a dozen adventurers whirled about a bloodied, beleaguered wolf. The wolf was huge in its size, with legs at least 2 months long and a mouth full of teeth long enough to be called a sword in their own right.
In short, it was awesome.
The ideas of heading home to sleep vanished in an instant. An excited smile broke across Sark's tired face, lighting his face. At the moment he chose to engage the wolf a surge of strength arose through him. It felt similar to the Pebble of Philosophy's improving magics, but somehow ... cheerier. Like it was not the desperate hope of thousands of dead who empowered his actions, but the merry joy of millions that were lending him their strength. While the dwarves' muscles bulged, his sight cleared and his clothes grew the scrollwork necessary for high level leather armour he surveyed the battle.
The wolf was clearly in trouble; sweat cloaked its flank and blood was pouring from heavy wounds across its entire body. A shadowy duplicate and a kraken were entangling some of its limbs while the adventurers carved through its exposed sections. Each attack of the wolf's was powerful, but many of the adventurers still seemed to have the determined expressions of those still at full HP.
When the last of the scrollwork had finished emblazoning itself on his clothes Sark stepped into combat. His evolved steel blade was truly ridiculous in its size now at just shy twice his height and was wider than he. Thanks to his enhanced strength, the blade felt no heavier than a broom.
"Skill Macro! Ace Moves: Lightspeed flight ...
With each word an effect crackled into life. Arcs of azure mana buzzed up from the ground, dancing along his limbs like the captured lightning in a Tesla coil. It improved the speed of his motions and provided a small buffer against damage. With his next word his toes gently lifted off the ground, giving the warrior complete freedom from the restrictive snow and treacherous ice of the battlefield.
He made the most of the situation. The cocked his legs into a crouch before bursting towards the boss monster. The wake of his motions sent a small puff of snow into the air. The motion seemed to catch Fenrir's attention, who flicked one massive paw in Sark's direction. A chain of spiked ice pillars burst out of the snow one after another to the pace of an Hardstyle song.
"of the Shadow Clone!"
He raced towards the oncoming spikes, dropping the blade from its upright position down into that of a jouster's pose. The spikes loomed so close that the snow they scattered splattered against Sark's feet, yet his next skill did not activate. At the last possible moment Sark thrust the sword forward and a thick, oily smoke burst out from the hilt. With a sharp hiss it covered a circle 60 feet wide, hiding the enemy from sight. Hidden from the wolf a shadowed duplicate of Sark split from him. It seemed identical to the warrior in every way, yet someone would be able to easily say there was something just plain unsettling about the smile that sat on his clone's face.
A benefit of the game system allowed Sark to see clearly through the haze, so was able to easily dodge the oncoming spiked pillar. He closed the distance with his foe, breaking into the front line of adventurers. Flipping over one he brought his sword down, slashing lightly across the wolf's back. His clone duplicate the action, and together they landed amongst their new allies.
"All right guys! We're in the home clear; let's get this guy! We've killed all the wolves before, we can again! English unite!"

[attr="class","solcap"] Nothing amused Capsule as much as the kraken the summoner, Kaos brought forth. Seeing the great wolf assaulted by the tentacles was kind of funny, and out of the ordinary. She was bound to remember this encounter -- at least she hoped so. It would definitely make a good reference for Midori , who she recognized as a member of Apocrypha and fellow neighbor in Partridge. But how would she even prompt that conversation…? "Yo, I had the wierdest dream last night! Me and a bunch of Adventurers were fighting a child eating wolf, which turned into a hentai when the summoner showed up!" That was a great way to ensure she was never invited over for hot chocolate. Aaaand then came Mikoto , screaming in Welsh like a madwoman. It sounded like she was really invested in the origins of Fenrir. With her was Nisha , crying out in what might have been delight or hysteria. The results of their partnership and assault on the wolf were obvious enough -- "Little Light~." Her Magic Light was turned away from her, staring directly at the purple flaming orange following Icyferno around. Her Desue skinned Magic Light was making faces at the pumpkin. "Hey, cut it out. People may get the wrong idea." Of course it did not listen. Capsule coerced Aleksei to move out of the way as more and more Adventurers funneled in. Talk about late to the party! Fenrir was having the stuffing beat out of him, which was also good. Her brow furrowed as she thought she spied a familiar face disappear from the crowd. That would be Empyrean , though it had been, what, nearly two years since they last saw each other? And even then, she would most likely only recall him as the guy who fed her waffles before tossing her off of a cliff. Out of the corner of her eye, she watched as Elkeid threw a large, disc shaped object towards the owner of the guffawing pumpkin. It would really hurt if it struck Icy head on in the face, but the woman was obviously more concerned about the money she was demanding in return. It did not seem like she would be getting involved in the fight, but was more of a courier. That was… really weird and she could have at least smacked the wolf around, but whatever lady. You do you. She spotted Sark next, who was proclaiming something about the English uniting? Uuuh not everyone here was English, dude. It made her inclined to yell out something contradictory. "Fliege höher! Laufe viel schneller! Vergiss die Wahrheit nicht!" (Translation: Soar higher! Run much faster! Don't forget the truth!) If anyone heard her, it was hard to tell, for Aleksei decided to let out an ear splitting roar at that exact moment, drowning her out. k. «BE SHUTTING THE HELL UP AND KILL THE WOLF ALREADY!» He jabbed a paw at the little dwarven Samurai. «OR I WILL CONSUME YOU AND YOUR HOUSE!» Capsule assumed he was talking about Noihara, which was comprised of many low leveled Adventurers. The bear really could pick them off one by one, or knock half of them out in a group if he so wanted. Capsule was uncertain if Sark (or any of them, for that matter) could speak bear, so she was kind enough to translate for them. "Aleksei said he is going to turn you and your guild into a smorgasbord if we don’t end this fight," she said, having first navigated to closer proximity with the little person, careful to stop her great bear from stepping on him. Getting Dwarf stuff out of his fur was always a hassle. To keep her bear happy, Capsule decided to go all out and attack the wolf with Prismatic Laser. Geeeeeet dunked on? With enough Adventurers swarming the cave, the battle was quickly becoming a mosh pit of blades and blood; it seemed as if the beast was quickly being brought to heel, so to speak. But the fight was far from over, and it was about time the Shaman did his duty as a support. Stepping back slightly from the fray, he scanned the area in front of him, his array of barriers quickly dissipating as they had absorbed the damage they needed to. "We're doing well so far," he mumbled to himself, sheathing his longsword for the time being as he glanced through the crowd and spotted one of the other Adventurers that had been swatted just as he had, though with a less savoury landing, her form almost engulfed beneath the thick layer of snow that coated the cavern floor. Dorian moved his head around, checking over everyone else's health before making his decision - it wouldn't do to be careless, not against a beast like this - and eventually choosing to avert his attention towards her.
As he slipped between the various others, he used his interface, pulling up the stats of Akira; a fox tail Swashbuckler, she seemed to be in rough shape after the swipe that Fenrir had made at her. Making his way over, he knelt down beside her, lowering his hand down towards her in an offer of help. "Looks like you got hit hard; take my hand and I'll bring you back up as best as I can," he quickly communicated to the Swashbuckler, keeping his voice calm in an attempt to reassure her, whilst remaining loud enough to speak over the cacophonous howling and clashing of blades against the tough hide of the colossal wolf. Once he had gotten Akira to her feet, he opened his hands out towards her, conjuring up a Healing Prayer, which slowly converted his mana into her form and regenerated some of her lost health. "There, that should keep you going; give a shout if you need any more help." With that, he nodded his affirmation, quickly darting back into the crowd of Adventurers and unsheathing his longsword once more.
Giving his mana a bit of time to regenerate before he started piling on the hurt, he decided to go in swinging, zipping through the various gaps between people - and brushing past the fur of Alexei at one point, or so he hoped - he lunged himself underneath the wolf's large form, slashing his blade upwards in a jab at Fenrir's more vulnerable underside, cutting a swift gash against it. Once that was done, he attempted to move himself between the hind legs, dragging himself towards it's rear for a bit of a flanking manoeuvre, but it seemed the wolf was too intelligent for that. With a throw of it's back leg, it swiped him across his chest, knocking the wind out of him and sending him into the wall of the cavern. Slipping down into the snow, he felt a bit of blood leave his body, a strange sensation given the obvious dream-like locale; but despite his current status in his slumber, right now it hurt like hell. But he was still in the fight... for now. HEALTH:76.2 MANA:70 WORDCOUNT:537 Coded by @serenityspace of LH

73,95% HP 75,37% MP The sensation of battle. The sounds of metal clashing. Something makes him all jumpy when he smells a fight. The suit, funny enough, hadn’t been ripped, even though he taken quite a bit of big hits. However, he had to get it cleaned, since it was full of wolf blood. - Only a quarter and a pinch of this beast’s HP is remaining. I should be able to stay alive for the last bit here. -, he thought as he readied for another swipe. However, before he reacted for the swipe, Dorian lunged from his position in the back, towards the great white wolf. The lunge was just as the claw was forcefully swung towards them, but Dorian didn’t even break a sweat. He easily dodged the claw, just bending backwards, practically sliding underneath the claw. Amazed by the light maneuver, Sayinh stood stunned for just a microsecond before he dashed after the Shaman. Charging ahead with his shield in front of him, he saw the sword of Dorian slash through the stomach of Fenrir. The blood from the wolf came pouring down on the two adventurers, caught in a wrong position. As Sayinh finally had the blood wiped away from his eye, making him able to see again, Dorian had moved towards the back end of the wolf, readying a flank attack. However, the attack from before caused a lot of aggro to be generated towards the Shaman, having Fenrir attack him with the left back leg. Sayinh had already read the movements of both Fenrir and Dorian, concluding that even if Dorian would try and dodge this with his slick movements, the attack would be too close for him to make it. - God, these guys give me a run for my money! -, the Guardian thought as he dashed with the shield in front of him, shoulder first towards Dorian. Sayinh hit the Shaman out of the line of damage, only a split-second before the rock-hard paw hit the shield. The impacts initial damage was negated a bit by the shield, but it still send the light guardian smashing towards the wall, causing him to take a bit of damage. As he got up, he saw the Shaman being back towards the wall. - Maybe I hit him a little hard? … Well it was kinda his own fault. -, he thought as he shouted out to the others. “ Can we focus here? We may have gotten far, but that doesn’t mean that we can grow careless!”. As he said it, he activated Stelwart Defense, and started to walk towards the beast. This may have sent a bit of wrong signal to some of the others, but it had to be stated, since some wasn’t fully focused on the wolf’s movements and patterns. Looking the beast in the eyes, he yet again activated Anchor Howl. Sayha’s first attack was a bust as it hit the ground next to Fenrir instead of hitting the wolf itself. However, it didn’t seem to have the problem Sayha had as she was knocked backwards by one of its attack. As she got up, she looked around to see more and more Adventurers appear and begin to attack the giant wolf. Most of the faces Sayha didn’t know, and there were too many for her to keep track of. Of course, she didn’t need to keep track, she wasn’t going to be a Field Monitor… though she didn’t exactly think it was necessary at that point. After all, the fields were just kind of chaotic and it didn’t seem many people were keeping up with everyone.
After taking a quick breath, Sayha dashed back towards the wolf. Even though everything was kind of a haze, Sayha did her best to pull her thoughts together. There was no way she was going to fail her next attack, especially because it was her default first moves that rarely if ever missed. Just before she was in range, Sayha hit the trigger on her weapon that turned it into dual kama mode.
Once she was in range, Sayha dashed forward, activating <Quick Draw>. Once her initial slash hit, she stabbed forward with the points on the kamas in quick procession, her <Sword Rain Flurry> attack. Once her attacks hit, she saw Fenrir start to attack but with her reflexes, she was able to tumble backwards, avoiding the attack.

Saber let out a huff after his initial assault, his body pulsing with aggression as he stared towards the Wolf boss ahead of him. The others were dealing a high amount of damage and to be honest, this was going a lot more smoothly than he initially thought it would. Most boss battles he had taken part in always ended badly and never went as planned; this was an exception. Saber could see Fenrir's health dwindling, could sense the others in the area, and not once did he feel a weakness in his body. The damage he had taken initially was light and in exchange, he had bitten a chunk out of Fenrir's own. If he could keep this up, then the battle would not last much longer. If he wanted to put himself to use, he had no time to waste.
Twirling his swords, Saber shoved them into their sheathes and then darted into his circular movement again. The metal bow on his back snapped into his hands and an arrow fell onto the string, the Assassin pulling it taut as he started to move to the left. His feet moved quick,. pounding into the snow powder as his fingers and arms moved like a machine. His left arm stiffened, holding his bow steady while his right fired off several metal projectiles, all targeting Fenrir's joints once more. Congregatic arc keyed, turning one of his shots into a powerful volley of death that pelted Fenrir's left side, tearing open several holes of flesh as they impacted his fur. The white skin of the boss was stained red with the signs of wear and Saber could see the anger in the Wolf's face. Saber grinned beneath his scarf, twirling his bow over his shoulders as he came around the backside of the creature. Once more, he pulled his blades free and jumped up onto the Wolf Boss's back. Fenrir snarled and glared back over at him, but the black warrior stared back, defiant as he went to work. His weapons danced, their power increasing as he rotated his body and keyed the skill Deadly Dance. Lashes and deep cuts ripped through the tender flesh as Saber laced the Wolf's back with wounds. Blood splattered over his body, coating his shirt and cloak with the thick liquid.
Fenrir whipped his tails around, smashing into the Assassin's right side and caught him off guard. The sudden strike caused Saber to vanish into the snow haze of the blizzard, but only for a moment before a spark of flames ignited. The deep snarl of a new combatant rumbled through the blizzard as Saber called forth one of his personal allies; Rayne. The Fire Dog roared as it shot forward, the snow around his feet melting instantly as his paws tapped into the white washed land. Without hesitation, Rayne jumped at Fenrir's neck, the burning body wrapping around the White Wolf as his fangs tore through the exposed flesh. After taking a mouthful, Rayne shoved himself back and retreated to Saber's side. The Assassin stood with his dog at his hip, the massive orange and yellow creature ready to pounce at the sound of a single word.

(OOC: Two parter; before the line is Dwarf doing Dwarf things. After the line is Dwarf getting in the thick of it.) "Hmm, so tis is wure ta parties at. Looks lik’ thur already gankin’ et. Wha' a crock.”
A snort sent an eruption of frozen moisture out in a cascade from nostrils broad. a flicker of disappointment evident as the target was tagged and lowered the monocle of far seeing brought from a junk store long ago. I mean, Tobin could hardly miss the brawl spilling on and the sounds that echoed for miles around. Furthermore it was quite unusual to see such a hive of adventurers emerge in such numbers to fight a particular mob, yet there they were. This really bothered Dwarf. No, he wasn't a peace loving hippy that hated having mountain meditations ruined, this shattering of the peace broke up the dull task of herb collection for his latest brew. It was just.... Well, Tobin couldn't deny that he wanted to be first, being the last to a party really rustled his jimmies but late was better then never, just a pity that his author tended to favour the latter over the for- -any more of that and I'll never write again, dwarf.--whatever baldy.-
His lip twitched as the pine green woollen cloak was drawn tighter around him as he waited for that little timer to dial down. The winter months had to be one of his least favourite seasons at the moment as the common monk attire and copious amounts of whisky did little to keep the elements out, needless to say his family jewels felt like a pair of climes clanging in the wind. Being irritable was reasonable. Still, Tobin lived out here in the mountains and knew the local lore, it was only when the volume of adventurers skyrocketed that he took longer then a fleeting interest. The catch was that he was over half a mile away across several rivers that cut into the veins of the land. A creative shortcut was essential! Thus he waited, casually warming up as the 5 minute timer trickled down. Eventually the counter reached 10 and with a sigh of relief he began to toggle through a checklist of buffs as he flexed his stiff muscles,, from iron body, heated combat, acupuncture, the creature likely wouldn't survive long enough for the severe mana drain to cripple him. 3 The last buff he held back on till the last moment, that one had to last as long as possible. 2instead a final muttered rehearsal. It had to be perfect for this event. 1Then he turned toward where the battle was going on, half a mile away, a flicker of a smile cracked from his rough shaven chin. Showtime! With a earth shattering crack he became the storm, the next instant, gone. A superbolt of condensed Dwarf energy hurtling at 224,000 mph. That made a couple mile journey barely a moment. One with the -Lightning Streight-.
It all happened in a mana of nano seconds, A bolt of bright white made its journey right into the center of the brawl, passing advanturers alike, it's destination a big meaty blow to the great beasts maw with the force of 1000 anorexic wombats* to strike the great beast right in the maw the Dwarf abruptly appeared admist the adventurers, the beast let out a yelp as yet another surprise attacker. Only then, did the not very mysterious figure, one of the few Dwarfkin in the server erupted burst into crimson flame as he locked eyes with the beast. Fist clenched as his second step drew him closer to the creature's core. The cloak burned away to reveal shining, metallic skin that was expressed well by the dark lilaric hued vest that he bore., the heat produced off the Dwarf radiated outwards like a dry furnace, the smell of hot iron and the sharp tank of evaporating alcohol filled the very air around him. Tobin had returned. Again. "BEAST, Dun't ya knuw who's soil on which ya tread?!"His right fist swung in a heavy arc as the -megaton impact- connected with the dense fur and crunched into a mixture of bone and firm muscle, still the Dwarf didn't stop as his frame twisted and a third step carried the momentum forward, and with a throaty roar the energy of the punch was expelled into the beast, yet, unsurprisingly, the Dwarf found himself staggering back as his fist bounced off the immense, immobile object. unstirred, The Dwarf followed in a blur of fire, one becoming five as aura dopplegangers surrounded the beast and, in a flurry of violence the beast was battered from every angle; the wave of blows grew heavier and the flame's around his fist's burned hotter. "I AM TOBIN, TIS IS MY MOU-"A loud bellow cut the Dwarf off as the creature twisted and snapped downward to bite deep into the meaty torso, the clones immediately flickered out into ember. Fortunately the firm Dwarfen man meat proved too difficult for this bitch to swallow, unfortunately the dwarf found his head and arms trapped in the beast as it thrashed him around like a chew toy, further more he was audience to a new horror. Rapidly rising glow of white and a a frigid wind billowing inside it drew a cold shard of panic within the Dwarf. "Oh jesus, It's... doin' somethin' Magical! letmeowt letmeowt letmeowt!*Or one vegan, whichever does the least damage. (Summery: Dwarf turns up, really ticks the beast off with a epic combo, beast bites him and continues to fight while nawing the Dwarf. One could compare it to a puppy mawling a plush toy. How MOE. Post by Nisha on Dec 13, 2015 17:16:45 GMT
Nisha had to say, she had not had this much enjoyment from a boss since she had taken to this world and rescued that little party back then. Well, it had been just a mob in the end, but it had actually nearly killed her and taken several of the group of adventurers with it. Although this was on a total other level, it definitely felt like a real boss and a challenge. Riding on Mikoto´s horse, Nisha saw that the dwarf, the rainbow kicking god of alcohol was doing something weird. Ah, well, not weird, but brave, Nisha often got those mixed up, having no inclination to do them. Braveness was just not in her nature, doing so without even noticing it or acknowledging herself. And yet he looked pretty cool doing it, cooler than Nisha had imagined a dwarf could be, but then again, he made a kick against a stone construct look like a finishing move in a fighter game. Anyway, tapping Mikoto on the shoulder, Nisha called out: "Pick me up again, gonna have to jump to rescue for a bit." And with that, Nisha let herself fall from the horse, rolling her momentum out before jumping up again. Nocking an arrow, she ran over to the beast to free and help Tobin. Doing so, Nisha would throw him toward the first person she saw around. Capsule, who apparently had gained a cuddly bear since the last time Nisha had seen her. Waving at her, she would then get bitten, but her armor and protective maneuver taking most of the damage. Dropping to the ground and looking around, she scouts for where to attack next while moving away from the wolf, peppering it with some more arrows to the face.

It was late at night and after a day of hard work… well, hard, it was mainly about shifting paper stacks from one end of his desk to the other side. It was a boring and rather unproductive task, but it had to be done to maintain the good order within the guild. [break] [break]
Moving over from his desk to the bed in the room the warden made himself comfortable before he dozed off to dreamland. However, rather than finding pleasant dreams he found himself a rather large and oversized wolf. The big creature gave him somewhat of a scare, though for some reason he recalled that this was probably a dream. And if one was aware of a dream being a dream one could act of their own will rather than go with the dream. So Bailin decided to do what he did best: Shoot at big and nasty things. So he took out his trusty firearm, put his legs apart a bit and gently aimed at the large creature, rather ignoring his surroundings. Gently he squeezed the trigger and the gun let out a bang as it sent a bullet hurtling towards the creature. The bullet hit the creature hard and dealing a rather nice amount of damage. [break] [break]
The creature however retaliated even harder than the warden could have anticipated, dropping the warden down to just barely half his hit points. It pissed him off quite a bit. “And so it begins.” He snarled at the beast. [break] [break]
It was then that the warden noticed he was not alone in the fight with the rather large creature. Slowly he became aware of several familiar faces and several unknown. They were all fighting the wolf in their own way or doing something else that might seem useful to the fight. [break] [break]

With a huff, Saber looked over to his right towards his companion. Rayne rumbled in his throat, a light billow of flames sprouting from his mouth as he exhaled. Smoke formed around the Fire Dog's nostrils and his sharp yellow eyes glared at the massive wolf ahead of them. Saber could see it; Rayne was anxious and impatiently waiting. He wanted to fight and he was just barely holding back. That sight made Saber grin. He glanced towards the wolf and observed for a brief moment, watching a few others engage the boss monster. The health of the creature was dwindling and slowly the health bar edged on Saber’s damage reach. He waited, bided his time, and slipped his blades into his sheathes again. Once more, he drew his bow. The combination of ranged assault and then a close-combat strike was dealing critical damage and so far, it was working. In order to maximize his damage, he would keep to that strategy.
However, it would not be needed soon. As the others blew out another chunk of Fenrir’s life force, Saber’s eyes hardened. He whistled for Rayne’s attention and jumped onto the Fire Dog’s back. With a tug, he called for Rayne to run to the left and without complaint, he moved. Saber steadied his bow and drew an arrow, firing it into Fenrir’s vision. The Wolf let out a thundering howl, the sound piercing the air as Saber’s projectiles stabbed into its eyes. The wounds bleed heavily, leaking down like blood tears. Saber’s eyes narrowed and he tucked his knees against Rayne’s body tight, holding himself down. The accuracy of his shots decreased as Rayne accelerated, but the arrows struck home regardless; Fenrir was a massive target and even though Saber was no cavalier, he could still fire his shots.
As Rayne moved quickly around Fenrir’s body, Saber glanced at his cooldowns. It was time. Three skills came off and notified the Assassin with a quiet flash of light before they faded back into the hotbar. Saber’s eyes narrowed and he glanced down at Rayne; it would be enough. Saber twirled his bow and placed it over his shoulders before turning his torso forward. He glanced down at Rayne and tugged on his fur, the Fire Dog reacting quickly and turning to face Fenrir from its rear left. Saber hopped off his back and vaulted forward, sprinting towards the boss. Rayne darted left and sprinted into the blizzard as Saber drew his blades. As he closed, Fenrir’s eyes glowed a hot red and glared towards him. Out from the ground, dozens of tall towers of ice sprouted forth and shot towards the Assassin. Saber narrowed his eyes and shifted, twirling his feet as he slipped through the initial volley. The second volley came quick, ripping through his legs and cutting his right shoulder open. Blood leaked from his wounds, but Saber clenched his teeth and activated Hazecloud Vault. A red streak zipped across the opposing side of Fenrir as Saber rose up above Fenrir’s back. The Wolf began to turn but just as his head twisted, Rayne jolted up and latched onto the Boss’s face.
A howl echoed out from Fenrir’s throat as Rayne yanked it back to the left, his claws digging into the massive Wolf’s flesh and billowing out flames over the tender skin. In another second, Saber’s silhouette slashed through the other side of Fenrir’s neck. Blood gashed out, pouring from the wound Saber opened up on the Boss’s throat as his blades. His skill, Assassinate chained with Fatal Ambush shattered the boss’s health bar. In the wound, the lingering blue mana bubble ignited. However, Fenrir’s eyes suddenly sharpened. The boss’s heavy tail whipped around and smashed into Saber’s exposed back. The Assassin coughed hard, his body flinging forward and twisting. As he turned around to face Fenrir, a heavy claw came out of the dark and slashed at his body. His clothes tore apart, the already worn threading easily shredding from the impact. The clawed strike slammed the Assassin into the ground, flat on his back and his vision blurred, stars fuzzing and blinding him. As he hit the ground, the familiar noise of Perfect Autopsy igniting rang in his ears. Rayne snarled and dropped from Fenrir’s neck, moving quickly to defend Saber as the Assassin lay on his back. The health bar of the Wolf boss dwindled, but Rayne remained vigilant as Saber sat up, his body burning with agony.
That hurt... Really bad...

Dug in and entrenched in snow, it was all he could do to keep away from the line of fire. Heading into the fray would only get him killed. Offering fire support was a healthy alternative, one that he found reliable. That said, it was more difficult than he would have expected.
The weather intensified for every second spent tearing the beast apart. Seemingly growing steadily more rampant the closer it came to death, it could easily have been compared to a hound caught within a trap. A twinge of pity struck at his heart for a moment, the wolf's strange appearance resonating with him for a moment.
He felt that if there was anyone who should take its life, sully that purity of its white coat, it was himself. His gun having jammed when he attempted to fire the shot -- due in part to the snow biting its way into the firing mechanism --, there was little else to do but leave the firearm behind and take it upon himself to strike the thing himself.
His feet kicked up frost as he charged with reckless abandon, hoping only that Lady Luck would bless him with the ability to juke whatever damage came his way. A distance of a hundred meters turned into nothing in seconds. He slid to a stop, acrobatic mastery keeping him stuck onto the icy ground.
The white snow turned red in an instant. It happened so quick that it took him a moment to register that his arm was now trapped within the thing's maw. Its head had snapped to attention the moment he had gotten close enough to be bit. Following through on it after that was a simple matter.
Tearing itself from his belt, his knife found its way into the beast's jawline, gripped tightly in his only free hand. A wash of snot fell from its nose and froze before it touched on the ground. Soon after, he dashed the edge of the blade against the wolf's face yet again. The red slick made the knife slip from his fingers.
In its place, there was a trigger assembly. Tucked into Fenrir's eye socket was the end of a barrel. And through its head went a lead bullet, bringing with it death. [attr="class","solcap"] As expected, the great devourer of children was not impressed with her laser magic show. Maybe she should have played some actual music to go along with it, but that was a job better suited for Lamenta. In any case, the damage done by Capsule was a tidy enough sum to earn her the wrath of the wolf. He sent a series of icicles her way, though the damage she took was lesser than what she did to him. Eh, all in a day. The little redhead was cuffed clean off the back of her polar bear, and onto the hard, crystalized ground. She rolled over onto her hands and knees, rubbing her rear end. How inconvenient. Aleksei, his own health not up to snuff, trundled over and carefully picked her up between his paws. She felt like a bear cub in the ten foot tall bear's mitts. He handled her like she was one, too, cradling her in his large, furry paws. The polar bear stood tall among the Adventurers, countenance distorted by an ugly snarl. «I will be doing onto you what I did to crab,» he spat at the wolf. Capsule tried to shake off the paw covering her head. «I am not a dwarf. Please do not throw me.»Aleksei's eyes lit up as he observed several Adventurers struggling with Fenrir. One of them just so happened to be dwarf, part of his body stuck in the maw of the beast. «No, but he is!» Capsule had a bad idea about this, especially since Nisha was now throwing (was that Tobin ?) the dwarf towards them. The paw holding on snugly to her waist was moved. Capsule immediately kneeled downed and covered her head -- just in time to feel a whoosh of air above her head. The bear grunted as the dwarf landed smack dab in his arms. Around her, the battle continued on. Capsule was too preoccupied with her bear to really pay attention. She had to stop him from eating Tobin. «I have always wanted to toss a dwarf! But mama has always said to never play with your food…» Great. There was a child munching wolf on the loose, and Aleksei could only think of his gut. Typical. Like a baseball pitcher, the bear wound back his arm, and took several steps back before flinging Tobin at high velocity. «Dasvidaniya, dog breath!» Goodbye? Was the bear implying that the wolf was dead? Capsule was not convinced, and thus backpedaled away from a presumed backlash. Before too long, your band of a dozen Adventurers have managed to break the facade of what you had expected to be an unstoppable beast of a monster. But something was strange. As the fight was going on, the monster was backing instead deeper into the Crystal Cavern. Slowly inching itself as it was fending off dozens of attacks at a time, it eventually reached a point and stopped. With a final howl, the white wolf's roar resonated within the giant Crystal Cavern within. The loud noise makes many tumble to the ground in shutter, feeling as though an earthquake was occurring. "Mortals. Your nightmare has only just begun!"As the beast's body shattered in a form reminiscent of dispersing ice crystals, the walls of the cave had also tunneled down and collapsed. The way out... was blocked. And the dream was not over yet. There was only one way to go now... and that was to head further into the labyrinth. Fenrir mount unlocked as an end-event reward! It will be available on 1/3/2016 to those who participated in the Fenrir fight.
Fenrir Hard Mode unlocked! Details will be announced in the future. Stage 2: Labyrinth of Ice.All Adventurers, please select a corridor to head down. You may head down the same corridor or may split up: Please reply to this thread and also make your decision within two days by voting in a poll. A GM post will occur at the end of the two days and three new threads will be started up to accommodate the three groups. Feel free to interact until then. You may also use the previous thread I started up as an OOC discussion thread to make your plans. * Anyone joining the event from here-on will spawn in the cave.

Blasts of magic and damage flew across the fields until Fenrir’s health finally hit zero. The wolf had seemed to be tough at the beginning, but it had crumbled easily… but almost too easily. There was something else going on in the background, but she wasn’t quite sure what it was yet. It reminded her of other MMO’s she used to play… where there were different phases to each event. However, would Fenrir even qualify as an event? They were in a dream, but the dream was just all too real. The only logical explanation was that there was some very powerful magic in play.
Just as the wolf was about to disappear, it howled out, saying that the nightmare was just beginning. Instead of exploding into bubbles like monsters normally did, the wolf exploded into ice crystals that didn’t cause any damage. Once the explosion of ice crystals was done, the walls seemed to collapse and the way out had been blocked by rubble. The dream wasn’t over yet.
Sayha looked around, quickly transforming her dual kamas into a whole scythe once more. Out of the corner of her eye, Sayha could make out three large corridors. Instead of walking over to the adventurers that seemed to be there, Sayha ignored them for the time being. She needed to see what she could figure out first and headed to the openings.
The first corridor looked rather long… but it was about as straight as it could be. She guessed that there were hidden traps all over the corridor… and she didn’t have the patience to deal with it. The second and third corridor were linked together in the same opening but went two different directions. The second corridor seemed to be the winding path that went all over the place, and she couldn’t see very far into it. The third and last corridor appeared short… though there was something odd about it that Sayha couldn’t put her finger on.
After thinking carefully and quickly, Sayha opted to head down the third corridor. As she walked down it, she kept her guard up, activating <Hearing Aptitude>. Walking down the corridor, it quickly came to an end… at a cliff. Just beyond the cliff, Sayha could see a path that continued to move forward. On both the left and right were walls that were jagged enough to be climbed. Sayha placed her scythe in her inventory for the time being; there was no way she would be able to cross the walls with it in her hand. Instead of heading across right away, she waited, hoping that others would join her.

With a big yawn, the drowsy Guardian rubbed the sleep out of his eyes and the rat's nest out of his brown hair. A group of people had already seemed to have swarmed the area where Fenrir was supposed to spawn, and he had only arrived just as the beast had howled and trapped everyone inside the cavern. He'd only shown up to try getting a shot at the boss, but due to the lack of an alarm clock, he had slept too late and started his journey off on the wrong foot.
Oh well, doesn't look like this is gonna be ending anytime soon. Might as well stick with it while I can, he thought to himself.
As he looked down the cavern, he saw that the other adventurers were choosing one of three routes, a majority of them seeming to favor the latter options. Guess I know which way I'm going then.
With the familiar poem of Robert Frost (how fitting) etched in his mind, he took the road less traveled by, beginning the seemingly long walk down route A. Judging from the three routes, route A appeared to be the fastest yet the large empty room felt like it would be filled to the brim with traps. Despite the danger, he felt a strange sense of allurement emanating down that path.
His curiosity piquing him to the point of dull insanity, he began his trek down the tunnel. He gripped his sword firmly in his hand, letting it plink along the ground every now and then to listen to the echo. Despite the chance of danger jumping out at him, a strange sense of calm washed over him as he made his way north. He didn't see anyone ahead of him, but he didn't fret if it turned out to be alone in his decision.
Most of these types of events were designed to be soloed should not enough people turn up to participate, but many things have changed since arriving in this world. Granted, that was...what, two years ago? Anyways, even though a great number of the current adventurers were used to the world, that doesn't mean any of them could anticipate whatever happens next. |

It was cold. That was about the best way to describe the area. Cold and snowy, if someone required a little more description. Unpleasant, in her opinion, but beautiful. Her destination, however, promised warm fires, sweet cocoa with gooey marshmallows and the festive cheer of the holidays. She wasn't entirely sure who she was going to visit or how she had suddenly ended up in the middle of the snowy mountain, but dreams were odd that way. They often jumped around, skipped important bits, or just plain didn't make sense. But, something, whatever it was, was driving her towards what she believed to be the home of someone she knew.
Artemisia had reached the crest of the small mountain and could see the lights of the town twinkling in the distance. A smile spread across her face, she could almost feel the warmth of the fireplace already. Her numb fingers and toes would soon have feeling in them again! The crystals of ice and snow in her hair would be annoying when they melted but it would be a short inconvenience in exchange for what awaited her. Of course, everything is always easier in theory than it is in reality and plans never do go quite as expected. Especially when those plans are the whimsical ones formed during sleep, the ones at the mercy of the fickle mind.
Flashes of various colors and lights caught her eye not too far from where she was. Turning her attention to it, it looked as if a large group of Adventurers were in the middle of an all out fight with some sort of monster. The blonde immediately turned and headed in that direction. She wasn't completely sure what was going on but she couldn't simply walk by without checking it out. Her even footsteps turned into a trot which flowed into a sprint as she moved as quickly as she could through the deep snow. It felt as if she wasn't getting any closer to the fight, she was running forever and ever. She could see the spells being cast, the monster fighting back, but the distance felt as if it never shortened. Eventually, she saw the creature beginning to fade into the mountainside and, finally, she made progress towards the scene. Or more like... she was just suddenly there.
She was too late, though. She had missed the entire battle. The wolf-like thing made one final howl and burst into crystals. The sound, however, shook the walls of the cavern she now found herself in and, from behind, she heard the snow give way. Artemisia sighed, she liked where this dream had been heading before... cookies, chocolate, a warm fire... and now suddenly, a collapsed ice cave full of adventurers? The blonde was a bit confused. Until a few minutes ago, this had felt very dream like, not quite in focus and the flow was slightly off. Now, however, the scene she was seeing was clear and time was moving as it should. She no longer felt as if she were asleep in her borrowed bed but surely she still was?
The way she had come in was now blocked and, despite being a little unsure just what was going on, she figured the best way to work out if this was a dream or not, or to wake up if it were one, was to continue on. Before her, she saw the pathway divide. She had the choice to go straight ahead or off to the side a little. As her green eyes shifted between the choices, she saw the back of a familiar man. Her choice had been made quite easily as she saw him head off in the direction of the route straight ahead. Artemisia grinned and took off after him, moving quickly to catch up.
“Oxford!” She called out to him, her feminine voice echoing off the walls just a little. They were part way down the corridor now and ahead of her, she could see that it opened up into a large room.
