Adler was true to her word—when she remembered it anyway. It was the day after she met Eadon and had her equipment crafted by him. The Guardian had already finished breakfast (pears this time, as apples were getting old) when, while she dressed and pondered what to do for the rest of the morning, she saw her armor listed in her inventory and remembered the promise she made to get in touch with her guild leader and recommend the Sorcerer. Yes it was a strange combination, but she realized that was one more reason she felt more relaxed around him; it was a relief to be in the company of someone who didn’t think look at her like she was stupid for choosing her race and class combination. It was, but why kick someone when he’s down?

Manipulating the Elder Tale interface to bring up her friends list, she picked Indy’s name and initiated the call, her fingers blocking one of her ears to help her hear better during their telepathic call. It was still relatively early; he was probably going to answer soon, but if he didn’t, she would keep trying every few minutes until he responded or picked up.



[ Hey Indy! Is this a bad time? ] Huh. Adler didn’t really know if the Bard was an early riser or not. Frankly, it was a miracle that Adler was awake so early. If she didn’t have any specific plans in the morning, she normally woke up closer to noon. If none of her friends were available, her usual routine involved a bit of monster killing and some crafting if she felt up to it. She would turn in later and later, but she never truly became nocturnal because an event was never scheduled too long after the last, even if it was something as trivial as brunch.

Before receiving a telepathic call, Indy had been working on maps and documents over the worktable. The Bard was a creature of habit, and he was used to waking up early everyday - whether he had something he needed to do or not. Usually he would find something that he could spend time on. Most of his mornings in Elder Tale were now spent working in the shop owned by the old man, Faustus. He had just finished tracing the lines of a main road on the parchment, when he heard the ringing sound in his head that indicated a call from a friend. He blinked, pulling his focus away from his work, and was about to lift his hand to his ear when he remembered that they were covered in ink. He took this time to wipe his hands with a cloth lying on the table next to him, then answered once he was sure that he wasn't going to accidentally place a mark on himself. [ Hey Indy! Is this a bad time? ] Indy smiled as soon as he recognized the voice of the caller. [ Good morning to you, Miss Adler. No, it's not a bad time. To what do I owe this pleasure? ] The blond haired man learned of Adler's friend, and his interest in joining the guild. Their guild. It was still strange to think that he was not only a member, but the leader of an official guild. In the days before the Catastrophe, he hadn't permanently joined any guilds because he had many friends - both online and in real life - and didn't want to stick to any one group. But Indy wasn't against this guild. He had accepted the role with open arms and a bright smile, choosing to look forward to the benefits of having a guild rather than worry about it. It wouldn't change the way he worked or lived his life, that much he was sure of. He smiled, even though Adler couldn't see the expression that was currently on his face. [ That's wonderful news! I'm always happy to welcome another member. So, where shall I meet this recruit? ] He asked her. They spent a few more minutes discussing the details of their meeting, and decided to have lunch together at St. Pancras Station. As soon as their call ended, the Bard cleaned up his 'mess' on the worktable, setting his parchment aside to continue it later, then bid goodbye to the proprietor who was fixing the maps and books on display. "I'm off for an appointment with a friend, Faustus. I'll be back later tonight." He told him as he made his way to the front door. The old man looked up at him then shook his head. "Boy, sometimes I envy you your energy. You're always going out doing god knows what. You better not be getting into trouble, you hear!" Indy chuckled at him as he opened the door and stepped out. "But my dear Faustus, you're only young once, and I would like to spend it doing pleasantly enjoyable activities - dangerous and troublesome, though they might be. Good day." He closed the door behind him and began to make his way to their arranged meeting place.

Eadon was way more nervous than usual this morning. He had managed to get a pretty good nights sleep last night, after scrubbing all the grime and dirt off from the day spent crafting. Even so, he felt like he was again off to make another huge mistake. He really needed to get better at this whole social situations thing. Oh yeah. And the not making a complete fool out of himself thing. Definitely that one. That one, times a thousand and then with some extra toppings of not pissing off other players. Stretching out his arms over his head, still sore from doing so much work yesterday, Eadon stifled a yawn. it was rare for him to be up quite this early, if he could help it, but still. the occasion was totally worth a few hours of missed sleep. He had thought that Adler would completely blow him off. He was convinced that the older guardian would not want anything to do with a slightly awkward sorcerer who talked a wee bit too much when nervous. In the end though, she had contacted him again and - true to her word - had arranged a meeting between the two of them, and the leader of Adler's guild, some guy called Indy. That was mostly what had Eadon nervous. It was almost like... a job interview or something. What if he didn't measure up or, as was the most likely scenario, once again spoke before he thought and made a complete and utter fool of himself once more? It would really suck losing Adler as a friend, but it was almost inevitable. He had yet to quite master the whole 'not blurting out whatever idiot think he was thinking' thing just yet. It probably had a lot to do with him still being pretty young, though he kind of doubted that. For a teenager, Eadon thought he was pretty clued in as far as people went. What was another likely possibility for his impending rejection would be his weird fighting style, and class, once they found them out. No doubt this Indy would be hesitant to take the risk of accepting a would be spellsword into his guild - the particular variant of the sorcerer class that Eadon was trying was largely unexplored territory after all. Generally speaking, a sorcerer should be on the back line in a group fight, and away from danger. His style of fighting was quite a bit more up in your face than that.  "Oh stop stressing already..." Eadon told himself, glancing around to see if he could spot the familiar form of Adler nearby, "Everything is going to be just fine..." Spotting the cafe they were supposed to be meeting at for brunch, but not one of the other two he was supposedly meeting, Eadon shrugged before grabbing a table out the front. No doubt she would be along shortly, and hopefully would bring Indy along with her. Fingers crossed, at least. Yawning and stretching out his sore arm again, Eadon tapped idly at the table, waiting.

[ There’s a decent café near St. Pancras, I don’t know if you’ve heard of it. We can meet up at the old theater and walk there together if you’d like. ]

Indy sounded cheerful as he replied. He was clearly a morning person. No need, he knew where the café was. Tell him about the potential recruit. She told him about her day yesterday, how easy it was to work with the Blacksmith and how excited he was to find a guild to join. While she talked, she realized she sounded crazy for trusting someone after one experience with them, but Indy didn’t sound too bothered. When their conversation was done, she gave Eadon a ring.

[ Good morning! Guess who’s contacted her guild master? ]

She filled him in. When asked if he knew where the café she wanted to meet at was, Eadon said yes, and so they’d arranged to meet there directly. Adler didn’t dawdle, but she didn’t hurry either. By the time she arrived at the meeting point, Eadon was already there. Adler looked around to check if Indy was waiting somewhere else because he wouldn’t have known who to look for, when she realized he could’ve just checked everyone’s names hovering over their heads if he consulted the interface. He wasn’t here. Adler strode over to Eadon’s table and plopped down, crossing her legs like a man and relaxing in the chairs they were provided.

“Good morning~” She sang, grinning. “Is this seat taken?”
