Hey folks,
For the uninitiated, I am referring to this thing over here.
If this takes off, this will be the thread we can use to discuss strategies against the mobs we face. PM works too, if you prefer privacy.
Also, after a cursory examination of a few profiles which are eligible to participate in this event, I've decided to throw in some free potions so the healer isn't overtaxed. Yeap, you heard right. Each party member receives 2 x Lv.20 Medicinal Formula and 1 x Lv.20 Medicinal Tablet free of charge before the raid starts, courtesy of myself. While I would also provide a mana potion, I haven't actually gotten round to making it at least once so I can speedcraft it.Alternatively, we could all wait for me to get off my lazy butt and type out the necessary posts.
I've divided the roles into the following for what I believe should be an all-rounded party. Do note that a lack of players with the classes needed may mean skipping out on that role, so interested applicants who meet the required level range of 10 - 20 are free to mention their interest here.
Members:
1. Icyferno 「Offensive Vanguard」
2. Inori 「Support / Healer」
3. Tyonis 「Main Tank」
4. Verin 「Offense Van/Rearguard」
5. Aeon 「Offensive Van/Rearguard」
Edited to reflect new ppl:
On a side note, here is my suggestion for the battle formation when progressing through the dungeon:
Standard formation:
[Tyo]
[Icy] [Ver]
[Ino]
[Aeo]
Rationale: Inori is the sole healer, so if she falls, so does the team. Since both Aeon and Verin can work at close range and long range, one of them can serve as rearguard while the other fights near the front. Their positions can be alternated based on their conditions. Essentially, the Sorceror with the lower HP should be at the back to dispatch threats that get too close to Inori while receiving heal buffs to get back into the fight. Ty and myself can switch positions based on Ty's condition if needed since Swashbucklers are kind of Off-Tanks.
Orbem Formate (Roman command for forming a circle formation for those who want to know):
[Tyo]
[Aeo] [Ino] [Ver]
[Icy]
Rationale: This formation should be used when we get flanked from behind, which is a possibility considering the fact that there could be hidden corridors and pathways known only to the opponents residing in the dungeon. If enemies come from all sides, retreating to a corridor with only two directions enemies could come from is our best option. Do note that the paintings on the walls may come alive because that is a mob we will be facing. Retreat in a sensible direction WITHOUT paintings where possible, even if the painting looks like the one your great grandfather painted. This can be used as either a last ditch move or a tight formation with both Sorcerors supporting both front and back at the same time.
Other things to note: Since Inori is the least involved in combat, I nominate Inori to be the one who calls out changes to the battle strategy and to alert everyone to incoming threats.Good luck Inori.
As for bosses, we will likely have to come back here to discuss since strategies are boss-dependant. Or take it to PMs if you want to avoid the prying eyes of most of the Internet.
