The meeting room is a spacious yet oddly cozy room. A fireplace stands to one side, its logs crackling quietly. A large blackboard hangs on one side of the wall, and numerous comfy armchairs with pillows and throws are gathered around a relatively large, round, wooden table.
(Welcome to the discussion thread! Ephemeral Solace isn't just my guild, it's ours. Please let us hear what you think by providing your opinion on various topics related to the guild! The thread description will change depending on what we have to discuss each week or so, so keep your eye on that too!)

Hi Saki :3
Alright my dears, time to get cracking. Here are the various topics I need your help with! - Guild housing: It's expensive. Would you guys be willing to chip in money? I'm not asking for all your money of course. Maybe we can spare a hundred gold a week or something (I personally do not mind spending all my gold on the guild house, but some help would be nice) and slowly make our way there? What do you guys think? And this may be a while, but where should our guild house be? :3 - Guild goals/values Both long term and short term. I posted the guild values in the official guild thread, do you think they are too general, too specific? Need to add anything? - Events Let's have our first (in character) event soon! What would you guys like to see? Throw your ideas in-- chances are we are going to get through them all eventually. :3 - Official guild page Anything I should add to it? The banner may also be temporary-- I have a couple ideas up my sleeve. I'll host a poll in the near future asking you guys to pick your favourite banner. c: If there is anything else you guys would like to discuss, ideas that will make the guild a better place, post them below! I wanna hear! :D@serenityspace kittygrey Khaleesi

Woot~! Guild is underway, boo yah! And now for discussion:
1. Guild housing: It is indeed expensive; I'm willing to chip in as much money as is required, but we should definitely focus small and work our way up. Think of it as a goal to keep as we gain traction in the world. As for where we should put the hall, I personally like the Moon Dance Forest, sounds like a very tranquil place, but if we're going to be a readily available support guild/hospital guild for the sick and weary, we should be closer to home, and especially closer to where newcomers are most likely to be, so my suggestion would be a Londinium district. 2. Goals/Values: I gave the current values a good read, and so far they look good! They keep things broad, whilst also giving us a sense of direction; but, as above, I can't remember who it was that suggested it back in the interest thread, but making our guild a sort of hospital would be a great goal to set, a way to support both the Lander and Adventurer community in a long-term sense. 3. Events: Hmmm, an in-character event would be good to start us off with; but we'd have to determine first what kind of event we want to do. Obviously we can try out various different kinds, but for our first event it has to be something impactful, something that'll show those nay-sayers we are here and we are here to stay and support as much as we can. 4. Guild Page: Alas, I don't have much to say on this front, other than to keep up the design work and try and make it give off what our focus is. People should see it and require no reading to get a general gist of the kind of guild we are.
Looking forward to hearing what the rest of you come up with. ^3^

I just came up with something else to add. If we go with the hospital route, we can buy the Royal London Hospital for our guild housing.

1. If everyone else is in agreement, should I purchase a small guild housing for us for now? I'll double check with Saki to see if upgrading to a landmark housing is just the additional guild fee of 8-9k, or if I have to pay the entire sum of 10k in addition to what I paid previously for lower level housing. I quite like the idea of the Royal London Hospital, but is it even on the landmarks list? Also I think we should consider to housing buffs/benefits too when looking at possible guild houses. :D 2. Definitely. I like the idea of it being a hospital because it allows us to act by taking care of others (injured adventurers, people of the land, etc) as well as perform research and crafting, since that's a big part of hospital use as well. The only concern I have is the idea of a hospital being really... cold? In the end, I do want our guild to seem kind of homey. :) Like, I'm totally in for the hospital idea, but just food for thought I suppose. xD 3. Hear, hear! Something impact, just like you said. I quite liked the idea of a bunch of healers trying to get some sort of item (maybe a rare body part of a monster that makes good food as well as medicine?) and deciding to party together... and going on a quest with no tank and dps. I think hilarity would ensue. Moreover, it'll prove to those naysayers that a bunch of support class players can in fact, roleplay together, thank you very much. :) This is totally for a later date but we need to have a guild move in thread. >:D 4. Will do! I'm currently working on the member list, and once I have some more time I'll fiddle around with the logo too. :D The current banner emphasizes more on the natural parts of the guild. Like, medicine through herbs, etc. Would you guys say we are more techy or more medieval healer type? Personally the latter was what I was aiming for (just because it feels a bit more magical and homey haha) but like I said above, I'm down for hospitals too. ;D
Sorry if this reply is all over the place, I have to go study now. @___@ busy busy busy
@yashamoto we'd love to hear your thoughts too! :)
TO-DO - Make guild account so we can start piling money to buy a guild house - Determine if we are a techy hospital type guild, more medieval and magical esque that works with herbs, or both? Actually speaking of both, have any of you guys watched or read Akagami no Shirayukihime? I was thinking our guild could be something like their medicine department. I feel like they have the perfect blend of technology and modern hospital and the more medieval type of healing. And of course, we will be focusing on other things instead of just herbs, medicine, and taking care of people. We will also have an active combat/front lines team, and do a lot of work in the culinary department too. :) - Work on member list

- I like the sound of an active combat/frontline team; as a DPS/Off-support, I would probably be in that group. Though, as a Chef, culinary could also be an option. x3 - I have not watched nor read Akagami no Shirayukihime, but I think a medieval styled hospital with slightly advanced methods, due to the fact that Adventurers can bring in the knowledge of modern medicine, fits perfectly. A nice blend of the two and a perfect goal to set for the guild.

Guild Housing: - I fully support a fund for a guild house. Any gold that Yasha does not plan to spend on new equipment will go towards buying us a home. The Royal London Hospital sounds like a perfect location (if only because I know so few places in the UK..)
Goals/Values: - They're spot-on, I must say! Your list of morals for the group are just open enough for us to have versatility, but just binding enough for us to have a united and clear-cut purpose. I especially approve of equal treatment for all factions, whether you be an adventurer or lander. Ephemeral Solace should be an active (if not the most active) group that promotes peace and lasting friendship between the Adventurers and the People of the Land. Far too many people see the Landers as inferior and expendable.
Events: - I don't know if it's an event, but there should definitely be a thread dedicated to developing new medicine and modern technology that will aid in healing the masses. My character has many revolutionary ideas (for a lander) and is willing to do what it takes to make them a reality. Everyone in our group should aid in this development (IC), even if they wish to just give an opinion or aren't particularly into crafting. The basics of healing (herbs and remedies and whatnot) should always be adhered to, but augmented by modern knowledge. A medieval style hospital sounds best just so it doesn't get too out of hand with machines or anything like that.
Guild Page: - All of the core functions are there. Until we grow into a bigger community, keeping things small and simple seems to be the best route (it will also give me less of a headache to navigate ^^").
Combat Team/Culinary Section: - I accept this as a necessary part of the guild. We cannot always be in the back. Sometimes it takes steel in order to defend your comrades. However, every member should prioritize healing over fighting whenever possible. As for food... I fully support it, but I don't think I can contribute much here. I'll leave that to our master chef, Dorian.
If there is ever any specific task you would like me to fulfill, don't hesitate to say so. I believe this guild to be the most interesting and unique aspect of the site that I have seen thus far. I want it to be a big success.

Firstly, sorry for the late reply. As I mentioned in my introduction, it is hard for me to get on the computer during the weekend, but week days are no problem!
1. In terms of money, you can have as much of mine as you wish! I don't have much right now but I don't mind giving away what I have for the benefit of the guild! As for where the guild should be, I agree with Dorian in terms of having it in the Londinium District. The newcomers are the ones that we should start off with targeting as they are the ones who would be in need of the most help, I think anyways lol. As for the hospital idea.. I like it. I doubt it would feel cold even if it did look like a hospital inside of the rooms, as we are waaay too homely for that (or I am anyways haha). I honestly see it more of a bed and breakfast type of guild house than anything, just.. in a hospital.. plus it makes the most sense in my opinion, as we are a guild of healing types XD
2. I love the goals and values. I wouldn't change them. As Dorian said, they're broad, but give direction. Once you start to stretch them out, it could get confusing for those looking into our services and such.
3. For events, I agree with the both of you! We definitely do need something that will impact the site and raise awareness of our guild.. But I personally feel that we should probably do something like an introductory 'meet the guild members' thread. That way we can get a feel of how each person plays their character and how best to fit them into a team when it comes time to party up. Also, since the majority of our members at this current moment are chefs, I feel the need to express my deep, deep need to have a cook off! Those who aren't chefs could be the judges and the winner could win something.. I don't know lol.. That could come at a later time too but, I feel it's a need and not so much a want hahaha! Other than that, I'll be up for whatever is decided!
And Lastly, 4. I also don't have much to say on this front other than, I love you Char! I'm excited to see the different banners and I think the guild page the way it is is perfect! Great job! I think Kitty is definitely more on the medieval side, magic and cuteness and such.. Technically she's more Feudal Japan, but medieval works XD But I think a blend of the two (though I haven't watched or read that either..) would probably be best to fit each individual healer. And yeah, as far as combat vs. culinary.. Is it possible to be both? Kitty loves to cook, but she can also play front line combat well so I don't think we should just be subject to one or the other? I dunno, it's something to think about anyways lol!
... I hope I covered everything lol!

<3 you all for your thoughtful replies!
1. Okay, since everyone seems to be in agreement on the hospital, then the hospital shall be our goal for guild housing! I asked Saki and for landmark guild housing, the payments don't stack with normal guild housing, so we will be just saving up 10k and purchasing the guild house when we have enough. I will notify everyone when I create the guild account. Also, I was looking up the building IRL and it seems they have a new building and the original historical one. Judging from the pictures Saki posted of Londinium, we are going with the original historical building as our choice of building (image link here for reference) since the new one would just really stick out. xD and of course, the interior will be decorated in a very homey way like Kitty said. n_n (At least the living area will be. I assume we'd want to keep the research area more academic-y). Nonetheless, as we near our goal of 10k, we can do more research into guild aesthetics (I'd love to have a thread in our guild-housing subforum with lots of image references as to what the guild looks like) and the rooms we want in our guild, etc.
tl;dr - we are going to save up 10k for the hospital landmark as our guild housing and worry about the rest of the stuff when we getour house
3. I definitely like the idea of a cooking thread! However, since not everyone is a chef, I feel like it isn't the best type of thread to start off with. I agree though Kitty, that it's a thread we NEED hehe. Maybe it can be our second guild thread, or we can have to guild threads going on-- one more of a combat/quest type, and a crafting one, idk.
We pretty much covered 2&4 in my opinion but if you guys have anything else to add feel free to do that. Also just a heads up that even though we have 3 major values that can be divided into three groups (combat, healing/social, crafting/research branches) all guild members can participate in any guild activities! If you want to go on quests/raids as well as do research and craft, go right ahead! If you just want to stick to research, that is a-okay too! I don't want to limit people to anything. You can give your character a specialization in the guild if you want, or you can dabble in everything. :D
TO-DO - Make guild account so we can start piling money to buy a guild house - Finish Memberlist
COMPLETED - Determine what we want for guild housing (Royal London Hospital_ - Going for a more medieval type of hospital threaded with some tech-y/modern details.

- Glad to hear everyone likes the hospital idea! The historical building does fit a lot more into the environment of Londinium itself, so I wholly agree with that choice. As for guild aesthetics and stuff like that, when we come to it, I have some experience with architectural design using computer-aided software, so I can always whip those out and try and get a few floor sketches for the building when we eventually acquire it. ^.^ - I do like the sound of a cooking thread, it would be a great way to get some activity in the guild and get to know how people work with crafting and such; if we're worried about leaving people out, namely the non-chefs, they can always be our judges and taste-testers and stuff like that. But, yes, even so, probably best to do an event that everyone can settle into effectively, such as a support-only raid or dungeon, or perhaps a less combat-oriented event where we go out into Londinium and just try and give aid to any Landers or Adventurers that need it. The sky - and our imagination and creativity - is the limit! - I'm also glad we don't have to pick and choose; as both a front-line support duellist and a culinary creator, I wholly approve of being able to do all the things. While it would be nice to have a few focused individuals, like a leader for the combat group, we in no way need to have them; our guild is support, we're all about versatility and variety, and being able to help no matter what happens on the battlefield or wherever we are applying our skills. If we are going to do a research and crafting branch, we should definitely keep a note of getting rooms that boost those in the hospital or whatever guild house we acquire first, as that would benefit the crafters immensely.

What about a thread where we all going looking for rare ingredients together and face some monsters (I think it would be hilarious since we are all healers, let the stick-whacking of monsters ensue) and then go home to cook stuff together? A mix of both combat and crafting. :)
Also I made a specific thread for guild housing so check that out too. :D

Alrighty! It's been a few days since this thread has been up, and I'm barely posting here. Better late than never though, right? Anyways, I'm pretty sure that most of the stuff that was listed in the first or third post have already been cemented in some ways. I'm just here to reorganize what I've read for my own sake and other if they just want a somewhat long tl;dr of what has been discussed. Again, for the sake of organization, I will be making sure things have been covered as well as confirming a bit on a couple of things that might need to be, well, confirmed. Moving on. As I've read, we've talked about four things: guild housing, guild goals & values, events, and official guild page. Two of them are pretty much set and done, btw. I. Guild Housing [[ I N - P R O G R E S S ]]- Level 5 Guild House - The Royal London Hospital
- Buy Out: 15,000 / 18,000
- 7 / 10 Specialty Rooms Chosen
- A mix of medieval and advanced technological aesthetics. Refer to Akagami no Shirayuki-Hime for visuals.
II. Guild Goals & Values [[ F I N ]]- Values: Provide Solace, Aid Adventurers, & Research and Craft medical + culinary things
- SUGGESTION: What are our goals - short and long term?
Short term: Have everyone's character meet so we can actually RP out them suggesting to make a guild.
Long term: ???
III. Events [[ I N - P R O G R E S S ]]- Cook Off
- Party Quest for a rare ingredient
- Crafting (??)
- Small raid // dungeons
IV. Official Guild Page [[ F I N ]][/b][/font] you should probably edit it so that we're allowing both Landers and Adventurers into the guild. As of this moment, our page is only recruiting Adventurers. [/ul] [/div] © EMMIE OF WICKED WONDERLAND

Just letting everyone know that an event has been planned and will be executed within the next week. Signups of sorts will be available very soon. All suggestions have been taken into account and implemented. :) The first guild event will be taking place (storyline wise) after the guild has been formed. Everyone, I assume, would be acquainted with each other, but probably not very close. Guild house will also be purchased (tomorrow as of the time this post was made) most likely. Just some final stuff to figure out.
edit: suggestions have been taken into account, the official guild page now welcomes adventurers AND landers :)
Also, I'd love to hear everyone's opinion on short term/long term goals as suggested by Luce above. Anything we want to research in particular? Once we have our guild house, create a thread where we open our cafe? (Like we can RP out painting the walls, putting in furniture and decorations, baking the first batch of food, etc) I'm no sure if those are short/long term goals or a to do list haha. xD Oooh, maybe higher level players can set up a support camp in Scotland, (The North) which is currently being explored right now? It's filled with high level monsters, so people are bound to get injured. O: I'm also down for a thread where we form the guild but idk how to start it, any ideas?

I should note that Yasha's account no longer is active, I'm not sure why.
How do you envision Charuen making the guild in the first place? We can go from there. Would she be sociable enough to be openly recruiting for support characters in particular, or would she have had the idea after getting everyone together (perhaps by everyone contributing to help against some sort of incident)?

Yeah, I'm not sure why either... I'll PM his other account tomorrow. And I think she'd probably want to catch up with some friends, they run into some trouble (maybe a player getting bullied?) and along with her friends, chase the bullies away. Next day she realizes that a support guild would be a really good idea and asks people to join? Something like that. x3

First and foremost, I love the idea of the hospital. It fits and is so very different from what has been done before. It is the perfect place for us. I am obviously poor, but I don't mind running commerce threads while out and about to help contribute to our growth and function. It is also a good idea for us to keep from splitting into divisions, from our mini profiles I can tell we all have our specializations and yet have broad sets of skills to cross apply to help one another out. Pio is a information gatherer for instance, and Lavina seems strong on analysis. I have a feeling we're always going to be a pretty small guild, so making sure that we find the best ways to help one another out will probably be for the best.
As for our order of goals, I could see us eventually expanding from healing the results of conflict into also helping to prevent that damage from occurring. We could become strong proponents for the prevention of collateral damage. If we stress our political neutrality we could also become negotiators and hosts for peace parties. Basically when it comes to conflict resolution, we could in character help to bring hostile parties together in a safe and protected space to talk. I'm a scribe and I believe we have others, so long as I do not slack, we could work towards getting those who want to, to be able to sign mutually beneficial peace treaties. We could protect the various "understandings" between different parties and social groups without ever taking sides.
Basically, in the future, I could see us becoming some strange but awesome mix of Doctors without Borders, The Red Cross, Crescent Moon, as well The Jedi Council in the future. Haha, well i'm excited wherever we decide to take this. We just need to be careful not to bump into other people's business and work within our own sphere as best as we can. Let them come to us.
If we remember the tenets of The Jedi Order, then us engaging in combat will not seem so totally strange. Combat should always be the last resort.
Jedi are the guardians of peace in the galaxy. Jedi use their powers to defend and to protect. Jedi respect all life, in any form. Jedi serve others rather than ruling over them, for the good of the galaxy. Jedi seek to improve themselves [and others] through knowledge and training.

I love that Franny-- preventing the damage from happening in addition to keeping the peace and being there to aid others. It would be really good if we can become negotiators and hosts for peace parties like you said! It'd be a great way to interact with other guilds/alliances too. :) That is definitely a good long term goal. I'll maybe make a list shortly of things we want to accomplish, and add those on for sure!
On a slightly related note, our first event is well under way, and soon we will have a guild house so we'll have a place for everyone to stay in and RP in and all that jazz hehe. Updates on guild housing in case you guys haven't heard, we'll be getting level 4 guild housing first, and Dorian has been kind enough to offer to draw us a floor plan. I'll be looking for image references once I have time to do so, but if you guys would like to contribute how the interior of the guild would look, feel free to post image references (link it or something) in our guild housing thread. :)
.. But that's not it! Hehe. On the topic of goals and events, I want to talk about events that we'd like to do in the future. I have a couple ideas in mind. First, a "mentor thread campaign" where we have a thread up, hopefully in a place where it'd be really obvious to newbies, inviting them to RP with someone in the guild. I'd really like to push for the guild to live up to its values and help newbies, yknow? The only reservation I have about this is that others might think we are trying to cash into mentor AP... I can see why it would seem that way, but honestly I just want to help people and make them feel welcome... T____T What do you guys think? Bad or good idea? And if good, when should we do this? (I feel like we are kind of stretching ourselves think right now but idk. We all handle number of threads differently)
Another idea I have for a thread is maybe a party? A New Year's or Christmas party? Maybe start it in December and invite all the guilds? We are after all, a politically neutral guild. Do you think we can handle that?

Thanksgiving isn't really cross cultural, but maybe a harvest festival? It could be a player-run event but about what, I am not sure.
Edit: I am suggesting a November thing because new years and christmas might have offical forum event competition.
As for the mentor thread thing, I'm pretty sure that's what the bonus is for, and our mentoree will be receiving it as well. Though if we wanted to set up a training camp thread similar to hiro's after his ends that might be possible. Mass mentoring/ a meet and greet for low levels.
