4. Mentor Threads.

Mentor Threads are threads that take place between a low-leveled character (the Apprentice) and a higher-leveled character (the Mentor). Mentor Threads give an AP bonus of 1.25x AP to all participating characters and may be under any context, but they are usually threads where the Mentor teaches the Apprentice the ropes. This AP bonus does not stack with any other thread type AP bonuses. The higher of the two bonuses is applied. Threads may be reviewed by the mods occasionally to confirm whether a Mentor is actually training Apprentices. In order for a thread to qualify as a Mentor Thread, there must be at least two participants in an RP thread who qualify for the following:
- Mentor: The Mentor is considered a character whose level is 15 or higher.
- Apprentice: The Apprentice is considered a character whose level is 14 or lower.
A Mentor can teach more than one Apprentice at a time. In order to do this, all of their Apprentices must post at least as much as the Mentor in that thread in order to qualify for Mentor bonuses. Note that it is not necessary for a Mentor Thread to be labeled as one to receive the bonus, but participants are requested to label it as such to avoid confusion.

The list below is outdated so you might be wondering how you can find a mentor or apprentice?

1. Check out the most recent posts in this thread and follow up with someone on whether they're available. Most of the time, they should have room to RP with you.
2. Visit the chatbox at the bottom of the forum. It's a great way to get to know people and make connections where you can then invite people to RP.
3. Join open threads and RP with more people so you can give your character some exposure in order to set up a potential mentor relationship.
4. If you're posting in this thread, you can also fill out the info from the Roleplay Info Sheet here so people can see it:

Chatbox Name: (Whatever names you normally go by in the site chatbox.)
Character(s): (List stuff about your character(s). Maybe you can give a brief summary of how they're like, and then paste a link to their profile.)
Availability: (When are you normally available to RP? Weekends? Weekday nights? List what your timezone is too.)
Contact Information: (Many of us use Skype, but if you have any other forms of contacts or prefer to be PMed instead, here's where you can say so.)
Roleplay Goals: (Are you looking for other characters to build character relationships with? Do you just want a partner who can post quickly so both of you can quickly level? Basically, who are you looking to RP with in particular?)

With the arrival of the new event, it might be a good idea to organize things a bit. But I'm not going to do that because I am a selfish butt. Besides scouting out people yourself, maybe use this thread as a posting ground to find people.

It is my recommendation that multiple mentors pair up with one apprentice, simply because there are more mentors and apprentices can become mentors. Consider teaming up and taking your apprentices on grand and dangerous adventures! Anyway if you want to RP with me, drop me a line. As far as I'm concerned, you guys can have my "welcome package" and probs Enchant scrolls depending on what they do. I want the gachapon and AP pot though (I will buy the gachapon off of you). Starting things off then.

Update! The wonderful Murasaki has compiled a list of all possible mentors here!. If you're on that list, you can be a mentor! If you're not, it probably means you're an apprentice (and soon, maybe a mentor as well?) And if you want to talk to the lovely Neun and maybe get some RP with @dindeen, she has a thread for that located here! Show her some love, folks. If you want, I guess. I'm a jerk, not a cop. Please do inform me if your apprentice becomes a mentor so I can add you to the proper list.

This now features an 'open thread' slot. If you would like to nominate your open thread for extra attention from a mentor or apprentice, feel free to post it here and I'll try to keep this list updated as best as I can! Of course, no one has to make an open thread, but if you'd like to offer an open invite, this is one way to do it.

Although I will certainly add you to the mentors list if you ask, remember that you cannot be an apprentice if you had 21+ posts when the event was released. That is to say, if you were on Murasaki's list (which I have linked~), you cannot be an apprentice. Keep this in mind. I have taken the liberty of only adding your name to the appropriate section in such a case.
