It had taken quite a bit of research, but Kain had finally managed to decode the the runic tablet he had found. Strangely enough, it spoke of a strange dungeon out in the middle of Avon, off in an inlet of the river near a strange pool with some rather enchanting scenery. He had decided to scout it out a bit before posting his findings. The area was a rather reflective pool of clear water, the air almost tropical. Ferns, moss covered rocks and a warm mist throughout the air seemed comforting. surrounding the pool were also the decayed ruins of what he could only make out as what was a former civilization. Collapsed pillars now covered in ivy, brilliant hieroglyphics, and some strange idols and imagery. Following them to the side of the cliff, he found a strange set of carvings almost outlining a door. The outlining hieroglyphics were missing a chunk out of one side however, and in a spurt of curiosity, he pulled out the tablet. As he neared it to the hole, the tablet and the outlining began to glow a strange, hypnotic dance of colors. He pulled it back, and pocketed the tablet once more, marking the entrance on the map he had been making in his journal to lead to the area, and began the trek back to Avon. He didn't want to march in blind, and should at least try and get a few more teammates before diving head-first into it.
Back at the local tavern, a small drink of tea on the table, he began palming through his interface. Perhaps there would be some people who would be willing to accompany him. He remembered Sayha the assassin from his recent run-through clearing out the trains. He didn't know if she was busy, but she would definitely be a handy partner to clear the dungeon. She seemed to know plenty of people anyhow, so she could possibly know a few others or such to bring with her. Selecting her name and taking a sip of his tea, Kain decided to send her a message:
"Hey Sayha, I recently found a new dungeon in Avon. Hasn't been really disturbed, and i think that either its from the new expansion or something like that. Anyway, I'd like some help in clearing it and mapping it out. If you could swing by the Avon tavern and meet me to discuss it that'd be great. Also, see if you can nab a friend or two. The more the merrier!"
Sending out the message, he leaned back in his seat. He didn't know how far out she was, or even if she'd be able to make it, but it would be better than nothing. He began scrolling back over his notes of the tablet, making sure he knew everything he could to explain to her if she decided to show up. Best to be clear on what to expect, especially when it was something brand new. Taking a small sip, he leaned back and began once again pouring over his notes as he waited.

The waltz. Kain hadn't really done a full one before. He knew the basics of it, and had practiced on his own before while watching some movies, but other than that he had never fully and properly learned the dance before. He returned the soft smile to his companion before responding in kind. "I can definitely learn." Taking her hand, he let her lead him through the movements. The box-step was fairly easy, and he grabbed it almost immediately, his earlier exploits into the dance helping his quick progress. His partner moved gracefully, with all her movements being calculated and well-practiced. She almost seemed like a princess out of a fairy tale, something completely foreign of a concept to Kain. She carried herself with an air of importance, of something that he could tell came from high-class, much higher than his. Strangely enough though, she didn't come off as a snob or a rich prick. She seemed kind enough, teaching the landers to fight earlier and then agreeing to be a total stranger's dancing partner. Indeed, she was not only of high class, but of pure heart as well. He definitely found it peculiar in a refreshing way. The part that struck him as odd however, was that a person of such a high class would be stuck inside this world. Personally he never imagined a person of high-class would waste their time with video games like most of the middle class, but he supposed anything was possible. it just seemed odd and so out of place. He supposed he could try and start a conversation while they danced, try and get to know his partner. As they flowed about the room, he began to address his partner. "I don't believe I ever got your name miss," He began. Tags: Mikoto

It took him a moment to notice, but nonetheless Kain eventually caught on his partner's unfamiliarity with his choice of dance. Personally he thought he led well enough, but then again, he was out of practice, and trying to lead someone in a dance they didn't know was generally considered in poor taste. She did however catch on quickly and keep in step well for the most part, but it wouldn't be fair for him to request she continue if she wasn't comfortable with it. He slowly came to a stop in the dance before addressing his partner. " I apologize if you were unfamiliar with the dance I chose. I didn't mean to impose, and rather, it is one of the only few I know by heart. If there is another style that you would wish to perform, I would be happy to switch styles. I may need a bit of instruction, but I assure you, I am a very quick learner, and a more studious pupil." He gave a small bow with his head as he finished his sentence. He wasn't always the most well-mannered back home, but he felt he should put on his best behavior. The woman was beautiful in a rather strange way, and something about her actions held a strange manner of high class that was unknown to him. He himself after all, was only raised middle class and then found himself running into hard times. But if there was one thing he remembered from growing up in his household, it was definitely respect and chivalry. He may not have shown it around most he knew, and certainly wasn't always up for keeping it on all the time, but that meant in no way he had no familiarity with how to turn on such charms. An old bet strangely came into the back of his mind, when a friend of his had once bet him that he couldn't be classy even if he tried. The resulting performance on his part would have put even a member of a high class Host Club to shame, making the girl blush in a matter of seconds. But that was then and this was now. He held his hand out, and kept the small bow, waiting for a response on the part of his partner, ready to follow her instruction. Tags: Mikoto

Kain smiled as the rest of the group introduced themselves. he found the little banter between the two rather charming, and strangely distant yet familiar to him. Nonetheless, the group appeared rather ready to head out, and as such, he followed along to the ruins.
Upon reaching the ruins, Kain ran his hands carefully along the stone pillars, taking in all of the tiny details of their construction. He loved locations like this, the way that they displayed both creation and destruction. He pulled out a journal and began recording in detail the look of the entryway. He took note of the ruins and the surrounding countryside. He was no artisan, but thanks to a small glitch he had found in the [Transcribe] Skill, he found that he could "transcribe" in great detail a scientific sketch of the area. Finishing his sketches after wandering around,he pulled out a large sheet he had saved for the map. He transcribed the location of the entrance, and began a rather simple yet artistic map detailing the entrance and its location relative to the town and countryside. Finishing up with it, he rolled it up and placed it within his magic bag before hearing his teammates call over from the entrance to the system. Upon approaching, he once again withdrew his journal before transcribing an image and the text of this strange plaque and intricate entrance into his journal. He personally had always loved riddles and such, and was a bit enthusastic once they showed it to him. He read it over himself, letting each word roll around in his mouth as his mind contemplated their meaning. " Hmm. The answer lies in the ground and in the sky... all fear the path, and escape it they try... taking what is not its own, and when no one knows... it could come when one is young or old... the signs always show..." strangely enough he pulled out a small pair of reading glasses. He didn't need them, but they were an old habit from back in the old world when he did. He thought about the words, tapping his quill on the paper as he thought. The young assassin spoke up his idea, voicing that it might be death. It was actually a rather good guess. " You might be closer than you think Kuro. Death actually might fit, as the body is in the ground, the soul in many religions is perceived as rising towards the sky. Not only that, but it can come anywhere, everyone is susceptible, everyone fears it and many have tried to explained it, and it definitely always shows." He thought on it a bit himself. It was definitely a good guess, and it just might be the right one. "The only other answer I could see would be Fate." Tags: @dumah @kurosan @bornfromvelvet Komu

Kain didn't like where this was going. He tried his best to force a smile, but he didn't know how well it was coming across. The warden was definitely intimidating, and that threat.... "The only time I've ever gone deep into corruption was fighting a crab monster. The crab was the only one hurt. I kept as much miasma to myself as I could. Except for that and a few proposed inter-class experiments, I haven't messed a whole lot with the miasma, I swear." He kept his hands up by the sides of his face where the warden could see them. He didn't know what the warden wanted, but he definitely seemed to be trying to hunt someone- or something -down. Whatever this interrogation was trying to get out of him, it simply did not seem to be going well. He supposed he could try his best to run, now would probably be the best time that he could. Noctis sat in the back of his mind planning things out. Okay, so, all you have to do is throw up [Night Shade] to disorient him, then just toss on [Shackles of the Sentenced] to make him stay there. Then, we just gotta book it down the street and try to loose him.Brilliant deduction Holmes, Kain thought. He just sat there, the warden staring him down. He knew if things came down to it, he might have to make a break for it, He just really didn't want to make any enemies. Tags: Bailin

The room didn't prove to hold a whole lot of interesting things. He picked his way through the rubble, finding nothing super eye catching. The most interesting discovery was the fact that they were now on the other side of the rubble wall from earlier, and a small rodent hole. It reminded him almost of a rabbit's hole, and almost immediately reminded him how much he was annoyed by the pests. Suddenly, the sound of crashing doors made him jump. He could hear the squealing of rodents, and the sounds of the only other team member he had barging through a door before he had a chance to talk to her. At about the same time, he heard a second set of squeals from deeper within the complex, echoing down to his ears. Quickly, he closed one eye, activating the curse mark upon Fletcher's forehead. He quickly saw that him and Sayha had their own set of mobs, and he cursed under his breath as he broke the connection in order to focus on the task at hand. His first worry was Nisha's health. He could alleviate a bit of the damage taken with [Tainted Charity], healing her a small amount. It would throw on a small bit of corruption, but as long as he didn't make too much of a habit of it, it shouldn't be a problem. He quickly charged up [Miasma Bullet] and launched it at one of the weasels, killing it instantly. In a bit he would need to toss [Tainted Charity] on her again so that the healing wouldn't be suddenly taken away, but for now it would make a good patch job. they would have two minutes to either kill these weasels and make it back to Fletcher so that he could patch her up sans corruption, or he would have to patch her up but expose her to another dose of the miasma. Neither option was good, but it was definitely all they had for now. They would need to regroup as soon as this was done. Noctis does: 1. Assist Nisha in fighting. (Take 0% damage from the round, kill 1 of them.) Tags: Hirosame

After some serious research, Kain's efforts had finally paid off! He had found a few strange hieroglyphic tablets out in one of his more recent expeditions, and it had taken him at least a month of nonstop studying to even decode the things much less figure out what the language then meant. He had poured through mountains of books, strange rituals, word of mouth, every little bit of info he could find. And now he had his results. The tablets told of a dungeon ruin, previously unmarked on the map or even talked about in any quest, and the tablets were the key to revealing it. He went out early to try and find the location. After searching up and down the river and throughout the town, he found a strange cliffside wall with matching marks upon it, and upon placing the pieces in the correct order upon it, the ruins glowed with a strange energy, rejuvenating themselves to form a solid and grand entrance that lead down into the hillside. Not dumb enough to go in alone, he decided instead he would announce his discovery to the world, and request any adventurers brave enough to tackle its unknown depths. Eventually, he recieved some responses as to who would want to venture down with him as the first group, and told them to meet up in the back room of the local tavern to discuss their decent and make the necessary preparations. ~ With the rest of the group having arrived and seated in the back room, he made his way in, hands shaking with jubilation. "Good news, everyone!" he announced rather happily. "Due to my recent efforts on the field of archaeology, I have uncovered a vast and unknown temple complex that spans deep within the earth of the nearby countryside. It could be full of dangerous traps, vicious monsters, and life-threatening peril! That is why I have offered to share my glory with all of you meatshields-I mean brave adventurers, as we chart these unknown depths and plunder their untold riches! I will not lie, some of you may die, but that is a sacrifice that I am willing to make." As he finished, he clapped his hands and a huge smile crept its way across his face. "So, any questions before we begin?" Tags: @dumah @bornfromvelvet Capsule Franny SteinNotes: IT BEGINS

Kain had absolutely no idea what the warden was on about, but he didn't like it. What did basic attacks have to do with anything? I mean, the majority of his attacks that he actually used was mainly shackles of the sentenced and miasma bullet. Other than a few adventures soaking up experience... " Mainly it came from a rather intense experience I had with a crab monster lately. Other than that, I pretty much am just control and artillery in a few dunHgeons. just kinda, snare that guy, blast another with miasma bullet and repeat ad infinitum until the dungeon ends really..." He didn't know if it was the right answer or the wrong answer. The warden was as unmoving and unreadable as ever. Kain was sweating, and in the back of his mind he could feel Noctis panicking. Whatdowedowhatdowedo
you can start by shutting up you aren't helping the situation
maybe if you threw up Night Shade, and shackles of the sentenced, and ran off in the confusion
That's a terrible idea, he's a higher level than us
Alright, you die, we respawn, its not like its not an option
The respawn is right over there smart one
Well, maybe we can be faster than him! we are wearing cloth armor and he is wearing bulkier stuff
I don't think encumbrance is a thing Noctis, it doesn't work that way for us
Well we have to do something! He's just waiting for an excuse to off us, and then he'll haul us off to jail, and then we'll probably run into HER again
Well, lets just wait it out. He wont just arrest us for nothingKain just sat there, blank eyes, trying his best to just try and defuse the situation. raising his hand with a slight wave, he decided it was best to assure the officer of his innocence. " I'm an adventurer, its not like I just go around getting experience from tourturing random people, I wouldn't get any XP from that!" Tags: Bailin

"Corvo. Noctis Corvo." The woman's regalia was definitely amusing, but by no means off-putting, at least not yet. Kain chuckled slightly internally, but obliged her the proper etiquette on the outside, lightly taking her hand and giving it a careful kiss. He carefully straightened back out to his full height, placing his hat back upon his purple and black hair. A small smile crept its way upon his face between the stitching. His movements were light and calculated. He was by no means a novice to the area of dancing, and his formal etiquette was almost too perfect. Interestingly enough, those who knew him wouldn't even assume he had this kind of a side, in the game or out. In his mind, sometimes all it took was the right partner. "The castle's chamber orchestra usually practices about now..." Almost as if on cue, the beautiful sounds of an orchestral symphony began to float in over the air, slowly building in power through the acoustics of the surrounding area. The music was comforting, but he was by no means lethargic in his movements. taking a few seconds to feel out the beat, tempo and style of the music, he straightened his posture and began leading through a slow method of East Coast Swing. It might not be the most ideal of ballroom dancing types, but it was what he felt most comfortable doing, at least as an opening stretch to once again get used to the movement of his feet in a way that wasn't combat. He was definitely more graceful than his gothic and fragile appearance would let on, even being in a different body, it was as if it fell naturally to him. He had a few mistakes at the start, but recovered almost impressively well. From an outside view, one might even think he was a host or some other high class individual. His elegance was definitely an internal force, as he was sure even this woman hadn't expected it from such a dark and possibly malevolent figure that he had been known to initially cut. Of course he was a little late, Kain always was. He had learned long ago that his tendency tended to bother others, but thanks to this new worlds helpful little functions such as the messaging system, at least he was always able to let them know. He made his way up to the meeting place, still making sure his bag had all of the materials he would need to chart out the dungeon.
Upon approaching the group, there were two faces he hadn't seen before. One was an assassin who seemed to be pretty laid back. Kain definitely noted the penchant for knives though, and the crossbow strapped to him. It was definitely an interesting choice of armament, especially considering the only other assassin he had met so far had been the purple one, Sayha if he remembered correctly.
The other person joining the guild leader was a small foxtail. Judging by her gear, she also appeared to be a cleric by the looks of her gear. He definitely had to admit that it felt nice finally having an official healer on a journey. His past few had been pockmarked with more of makeshift sawbones and quacks than actual medics, himself included in that list. He gave a small mental sigh of relief, as he would most likely only have to focus on mapping out the area.
He managed to catch the end part of the most recent question as he made his way up, something about undead and a lost brigade. The lost brigade part was new, but the undead part was interesting. Undead generally reacted interestingly when it came to miasma, much like some of the lesser entities within the miasma realm if you hit the right area. Who knows, maybe he could help disguise all of them if it came down to it.
He greeted them all as he processed the information and let the speaker finish. "Sorry for being a little late to the party." He would give a small smile with his stitched up mouth before turning to the two people he hadn't met yet. "I'm Noctis, Noctis Corvo. I'll be accompanying you all in order to map out and record the details of the dungeon for future record."

This conversation had begun to feel not only like it wasn't going anywhere, but that Kain was also one good cop short of a full-on interrogation. The stoic nature of the warden in front of him just constantly kept the pressure on him, making him feel like every word was being judged by the most scrutinizing of critics. The Warden reacted to nothing, said very little, and led onto what he was thinking even less. Even Kain's attempt at trying to ease the situation came back with the most unmoving, unyielding answer possible. He was not enjoying this little "conversation" at all. He was definitely unsure of what to do. He didn't know what to expect normally with Wardens, but this felt even worse. The question about causing harm to others caught Kain a little off guard. He hadn't tried to hurt anyone deliberately with miasma, minus one giant crab man. That being said, most corruption that he spread to others was either by accident or a little bit of overspill from his skills. It was never harmful, rarely reaching even stage 1 exposure, but he didn't know the right way to explain that to the Warden. He felt that any bit of miasma corruption done to others, whether on purpose or not, as evil incarnate. He would definitely have to handle it as calmly as he could. "Hurt anybody, no," he calmly replied, trying to give a small chuckle to alleviate some of the tension he felt. "But a little ambient corruption every now and again never hurt anybody."

Kain actually found the castle grounds to be rather peaceful. The way that so many plants and flowers were arranged, it reminded him almost of the arboretum back home. Everything almost always seemed full of life, even in these days that just got longer. The walk was doing him some good leaving him in his thoughts. On the plus side, Noctis hadn't bothered him for a while. He didn't really know what was up with that honestly, they both shared a body, so he didn't quite think that Noctis could be quiet. It had always seemed like he had no way to just think to himself for a while, and they were both just victim to constantly hearing each other's every thought. It was definitely nice to have a break, but he had to admit he would be lying if at this point, it didn't leave him feeling a little lonely. He was sure eventually he would question why he ever had that thought, but for now, it was definitely different being all alone. It almost sent a wave of nostalgia over Kain.
That being said, that was why he had come to this garden in the first place. It had been a while since he had practiced some of his old hobbies. Martial arts had gotten plenty of a workout with the constant adventuring, but his other more "recreational" habits hadn't gotten a proper stretching in a while. He had honestly figured that he would come out here and practice dancing a bit, maybe work on his writing. It was a beautiful day, and he honestly had no plans, so he had decided to just come out, relax, and play the day by ear. It was definitely around the time of walking through the bushes, flowers and beautiful colors that the sound of clashing metal began to faintly be heard over the peaceful sounds of nature. It wasn't a hectic combat, but rather the sounds of organised sparring.
Rounding a corner, he came to the rather interesting sight of a moderately large group of people thrusting at each other with thin swords and mesh masks. In the midst of them all, the instructor was one of the more interesting. Having decided to start off from a distance and observe, Kain had pulled up the interface and analysed the people before him. Aside from the instructor, every other person appeared to be a person of the land, with the blonde in charge instead being an adventurer. What he found most interesting about her was the way she carried herself. She was on the shorter side, but she carried herself high, seemingly demanding respect from those around her. It was definitely incredible, and the landers were definitely giving her their due.
He watched from a distance for a while as the lessons went on, staying far enough away not to be a bother, but still within view and partial earshot of the scene. It was definitely marvelous how she handled those around her. Not once did she seem to look down upon those around her, nor at any point did she insult or even come across as slightly negative. everything she said was either positive or neutral, but held a certain amount of respect within it. After a while, and Kain didn't fully know why, but he began to decide he would like her to be his partner while he practiced. Originally his plans were to just do it solo, much like how one who practices fighting shadow boxes when a suitable partner cannot be found. But for some reason, and for the life of him he could not figure out why, but he didn't just want her to be his dancing partner; he almost needed it.
After a while, the fencing lessons came to a close. The Landers began dispersing, some giving their teacher thanks, others simply walking off with friends. Kain saw this as, well, as good a chance as any. Getting up, he straightened up and dusted off his pinstripe suit, and made his way over to the female teacher. As he approached, he noticed she was shorter than he was by about half a foot. It didn't bug him, if anything, somewhere in the back of his mind (whether or not he would admit it to himself) he found her rather cute. Approaching the seemingly stern and regal woman, He removed his hat and gave a small bow as he introduced himself.
"Good evening madam. I was wondering if you would do me the honors of helping me practice my ballroom dancing. It has been a little while since I have practiced and, while I do have the urge to practice at the moment, I seem to be down one partner. I was wondering if you would be so kind as to grace me with your presence?"

The best way to describe the collective thoughts of the two minds were, quite simply, Oooohhhhhhhhhh ssshhhhhhiiiiiiitttttttttttt. The flop-sweating was definitely real. This warden, whether he was trying to be nice or not came off as majorly intimidating to the Heretic. He wasn't sure really what kind of 'talk' the warden wanted to have, but no matter what it was, Kain felt like he'd give off the wrong answer. The most he could do now would be to simply try and play it cool and answer the warden's questions. " What do I do?" he restated as he thought carefully about the answer. " Well, for the moment I just do a little exploring here and there, peruse old texts, search for forgotten lore, see what I can do without stirring up too much trouble..." His statement trailed off as it devolved into nervous laughter. He wasn't lying. In fact, he had been almost brutally honest. He hadn't gotten nearly as much done as he would have liked to think he had. He had planned on somepoint experimenting with his heretic powers and the corruption stuff to try and get a better understanding of it. But volunteers were so hard to come by, and he didn't have the gall to just create an unwilling suspect. Besides, the last time he held the full power of the miasma was back in that strange event what with the crab-man, and even then he didn't remember a whole lot from it. He got back to the subject at hand though, the Warden still leaning on his chair, seemingly eyeing Kain with some sort of malicious intent. He could only hope nothing bad came of this. He supposed he could always try and run, but he felt that it wouldn't end well for him, what with the respawn being only a little bit away if he did get killed. He figured his best option would be to attempt to get on the Warden's good side. " So, what about yourself? Such an imposing...well-built...impressive figure as yourself must know how to have a good time in this world?" Nailed it. Tags: Bailin

Item: The Birth Of Venus [Painting] A very well known piece of art depicting the creation of the roman god Venus, who was idealized to represent the epitome of masculinity and handsomeness found within nature. Adorning the painting are also the butler to his right, and the masculine ferocious minds to his left. For some reason, this painting reminds you of something you've seen quite similar, but not quite the same [BUR 2]

As per ideas the other day in the C-Box, this thread shall be for the public brainstorming of items that might be found within the genderbending dungeon. The items should all still play to the joke aspect of the dungeon, and to the theme of gender-bending. Whoever it was that approached sure had heavy footsteps. Not only that but such an antiquated term 'good morrow'. Kain knew that they were in a fantasy world, but someone who was still that deep into their Role Playing? He honestly didn't think any of them still existed at this point in the game. Anyhow, the stranger had caught the heretic in the midst of a sip of his tea. Turning his head, still in the process of drinking/swallowing the liquid, Kain regarded the stranger with a quick nod before realizing what stood before him now. The strange state of the armor, the glowing hum of the purity core powering the internal mechanisms, and a gruff, square jaw of a military man. A Warden to be exact. Not only was this a warden that now stood before him, but the interface revealed him to be twice the heretic's own level. Kain and Noctis both began panicking within the recesses of Kain's mind, both hoping that they would make it by undetected. Not that either believed it. As much as the wall of a man before them embodied the physical resemblance of a Warden, they themselves knew full well that their own body was as stereotypically Heretic as one could possibly get. And now they were facing the Warden face to face, little hope of the details of his form being hidden as they were when his back was to him. Nervously, he tried to slowly put down his tea on the table, slowly put his bookmark in his book, calmly closed it, and set it down on the table before calmly standing up. He attempted to throw on his best calm smile. He knew full well he hadn't done anything wrong. He had no reason to be nervous. But his track record with running into Wardens? It never turned out good for him. He did his best to address the Warden as peaceful, and law-abiding as he could. " What can I do ya for officer?" Tags: Bailin

It was a rather long night in the library for Kain. He had been doing some research in the Noihara guild library on some new writings he had found in an attempt to decode them. Even Noctis was stumped on their nature, which was odd considering he was an ancient sage that now dwelled within the back reaches of Kain's mind. After piling up enough books to essentially isolate them visually from the rest of the world, they had at least begun to decipher the strange language inscribed upon the tome.
"What the hell is the deal with this thing anyway? We've managed to decode a bit of it, but its grammar and sentence composition doesn't adhere to any form of language."
"Maybe we are decoding it wrong. Maybe we need to use a different cipher."
"I don't know about you, but I really don't feel like sorting through a thousand more books in search of a new matching cipher, and until you manage to make yourself corporeal, which I not only see coming no time soon, but also am highly against until you learn to mind yourself around women better, we will not be able to split up research duty."
"Maybe its a hieroglyphic language that is also encoded?"
Kain pondered this new idea for a moment. It made sense enough. Even in a pictoral based language, someone may want to keep secrets hidden. Thus they would likely devise some sort of cipher, possibly hidden within the sentences themselves. It was worth as much a try as any of the other plans they had thus far attempted. Thus began a process of trial and error, searching for any one small detail that may trigger the unraveling of the secret code.
Suddenly, it clicked. Some of the masculine terms had been swapped for feminine terms, a few specific gender-based iconographs had been warped or switched. Suddenly it all began making sense, it felt almost like it was writing itself. It was a breakthrough and it was beautiful! he began making actual progress that he almost yelped in joy! But it was the sudden THWACK of a book closing near-by within the library that startled him, causing him to shoot up in his chair and knock into the stack of books surrounding him. With a quick panic, the castle off grimoires built up around him came collapsing down like the walls of Jericho.
Popping up out of the now massive pile, the heretic let out a sigh. It would take a while to clean up this mess and get his notes back from the bottom of it, wherever they were now. Climbing out of it, he began the process of picking up the books, piling them in his arms, and making sizable stacks for him to put back where they belonged. After claiming back his notes and putting the items back into his inventory, he picked up a stack of books and began lugging them around back to where they went within the room. As he was perusing the shelves for the home locations of the tomes, he overheard Dumah complaining about something regarding a dungeon. He didn't catch all of the swashbuckler's words, but he could tell that his new guild leader was in a little bit of a bind, at least with members to go searching with, as well as information regarding the dungeon.
Being in a similar boat himself, Kain's ears perked up slightly, but he continued going about his business until the swashbuckler just so happened to walk off muttering something about coffee and leave his research unattended. Kain wasn't necessarily a nosy person per say, but he did know when his curiosity was peaked, and generally couldn't help his bad habit of needing to learn some things first hand. Sure enough, the notes Dumah had jotted down were fairly spotty, and nothing of substantial value was there, just the usual cryptic chicken scratch of someone trying to work out their thoughts on paper.
Kain definitely considered his interest peaked however, and decided he would shoot the guildmaster a pm in the morning. Best to let him sit on it after all, he didn't want to seem like he was being invasive.

Sure enough, in the morning Kain sent his message and got a rather quick and enthusiastic response. The enthusiasm he was definitely prepared for; whether a positive or a negative, he had yet to see Dumah make any kind of move that would make himself seem unaprochable or bothered. The approval though, he was rather happy about and shocked. He definitely didn't think such a thing would happen so quickly, and began to gather together some scribing materials, as well as his heretic gear. He quickly threw a pm in Dumah's direction indicating he was getting ready and would meet up when he could, that the group could go ahead and get started without him. Seeing as how the group had no idea what they were up against, Kain figured it best to pack the essentials, as well as some possible extras just in case.

The group had actually done well to mop up the small ambush that the kobolds had prepared for them. After taking out two of the three to the back, Kain had begun charging up another to kill the runaway, not wanting to make the same mistake twice. When the kobold died suddenly due to the shaman's quick apperation however, he canceled the charge on the skill, and decided to save the energy, instead taking a quick survey of the area. So far the group appeared to be doing all right, no one had taken much damage aside from Sark and Dumah, but Fletcher and his summon already appeared to be on the task of healing them all up. No more kobolds seemed to be around them for the moment, which he supposed was a good thing. It would allow the group to gather their wits and develop some sort of strategy before proceeding. Sure they had been doing fine so far, but as things were proving to grow in difficulty, at least slightly, as they made their way deeper. The silence was suddenly broken however with the assassin yelling the ear off of the shaman. She was definitely upset and for good reason. Dorian, being only level 1, could easily be one or two shot by any of the creatures they would run across down here. He sighed as the assassin tossed Dorian into the center of the group next to him. " Seriously, just...be more careful, alright?" He addressed the shaman much like a teacher or an older brother. " Stick next to me and you'll be fine. I don't have cooties and I'm not deep enough into corruption to infect you with madness. I may look scary, but believe me, I'm much more of a Modern Prometheus than a creation of good ol' H.P." He took another quick look around the area, surveying the scene. Suddenly, he could feel the tick of the interface switching over to a telepathy contact with the shaman. ' Besides, from back here we can do a wonderful job of inspecting the tools of the trade that assassin is sporting.' ' Noctis, shut up and stay quiet! No coming out on your own!' With that, Kain quickly went through the menu and shut off the call with a quick and exasperated sigh. It was one thing dealing with him within his own head, he didn't need the jerk coming out and effecting the world while he was out of corruption as well now.
