The twisted figure of the heretic let out what could only be described as a laugh. A laugh after all would be the best way to describe the maddening pleasure shriek and chuckles that followed that would have left lesser men frozen in terror. His eyes seemed to lock with each of the others. "Disection? No, while that does sound interesting in its own right, I have little desire to see you spread apart all open on the ground. No, what I have planned will be much more interesting, as well as enlightening for all parties involved."
His head popped quickly to the monk, a large toothy smile spreading a sickeningly wide angle from ear to ear, the miasma beginning to coalesce around him, whisps that could be mistaken for eldritch forms and tiny whisping appendages seemed to snatch at the air from within, peering and poking out from under his stitching. With a twitch of his righs arm, dark abomnible shackles shot from the earth ensnaring the monk, while the other hand snapped its long fingers. A dark sigil appeared at the feet of the ensnared monkshining a dark aura upon him, merging the ambient miasma further into his skin at a rather large rate.
"It is one thing for someone like me, who is constantly exposed to the miasma to see its effects, but another entirely for another not used to its beautiful whispers." As the circle faded away so too did the chains break, and a slight giggle spread leaked out from the massive sharptoothed grin of the heretic.
"So who wants to go next?"

Noctis wiped the sweat from his brow, a huge goofy grin spread across his face. He took in the awestruck and dumbfounded looks of his party members as they took in his handiwork, seemingly awestruck at his speed and relative enthusiasm with which he tackled the block puzzle. The foxtail's face amused him the most, as Dumah seemed more impressed and as usual, he only had the assassin's eyes and body language to go off of for his emotions. With a gentle chuckle, he took off the outer layer of the robe, tying its sleeves around his waist. The stitching and scars showed off a bit more, as well as revealing the tattoos that stretched down the left side of his neck and down his arms that revealed him as a member of the race of ritual. Taking some water from his inventory he took a quick swig to slake his thirst before speaking back up.
"This is nothing honestly, you should have seen me when I had to do these kinds of things in other games."
He took another swig and re-capped his water bottle before putting it back in his inventory. He sighed and crossed his arms as he eyed the mural himself. He knew enough to recognize the runic alphabet, but recognize was about all he could do. There was an air of familiarity about it, but he couldn't quite place his finger on what it was exactly. It had been years since he had last memorized or even practiced any of the runic languages, he generally studied enough to fibish a puzzle or decode something in a book then promptly forgot it again until he would need to look it up again. With a sigh he scratched the back of his mophead hairdo and shook some of the sweat out of his hair. He wasnt necessarily indignant, but he was irritated at how familiar it seemed yet his own inabillity to recognize it. " You would think the Sage subclass would help my memory, but alas..." he let out another sigh, heavy with dissapointment in himself. "I think you or Dumah are going to have to take the reigns on this one Kat."
As he sat eyeing the mural, the assassin caught the corner of his eye, eyeing the exits and seeming to monitor for incoming slimes. He could at least admire that one of them was watching their six while the rest were working on the puzzle, no matter how irrelevant it seemed at the time to him. Looking back to the mural however, he still had no idea. And it was beggining to get to him.
Half-jokingly, he decided to propose a question to the rest of them. "Can I just shoot it? Please? This place is so old, all it should take would be one well placed miasma bullet."

The heretic found this group rather enjoyable. Or maybe they were the ones finding him enjoyable. He honestly could no longer tell through the thick haze that surrounded his mind, but whatever it was, he found the joke rather funny. A continuous, low, gutteral chuckle began to come from deep within him as the group began asking him questions. The slime had only seemed to increase their intrigue at the strange man, his form quickly changing back to its rather dance-like slithering as his long limbs flailed gracefully yet drunkenly about his frame. He first addressed the one's question about scum. "What difference does it make really?" he crooned. "What is scum anyhow? What are we to define scum? Are we not scum in the eyes of a larger tyrant? In the eyes of the grand entropy? Some would say that I am scum for my blatant use of such sweet nectar such as the miasma for power. And yet, here I stand in all my scummy glory!" A thick laugh echoed from his lips, booming out through the trees, waking the black birds from their rest in their nests to send them flying off in search of quieter roosts. Next the music man came up to him, resting an arm on his shoulder asking about if he had any fun planned. Noctis suddenly stood as straight as a board, disregarding any further questions by the others, as though some strange trigger word that he had been waiting for had finally been said. His head slowly turned to face the music man dead-on eyes locking with eyes, the bones creaking as he did. A massive grin sat upon his face stretching ear to ear with his sharp pointed teeth. His eyes almost seemed to glow. The voice that came out came out clearly and without the normal garrishness he had been flaunting before, but held a rather serious quality and creepy airiness to his tone. "Oh, I have lots of fun planed, friend," he purred. "How open would you be to some.... Experimentation?" Noctis had been running around taking notes for a while now and was already onto his own theory that was along the same lines as the one their leader proposed when he announced that it would seem they would need to fit the cubes into their corresponding holes. Noc had already been running around and testing the cubes before even dumah had lifted up and flipped his own cude. He deduced that while with friction and the corresponging force of the s in relation to the world around them, they reacted as extremely dense and heavy stone blocks. However, whether it was because of his level or simply gamelogic, they felt as little more than giant foam blocks to him. He had already hunted down and found the block for the higher hole by the time Dumah had announced finding a block to stack it on top of, using his height to hoist the block over his head and slowly slide it into place with a thud into its hole, his height in this world finally being of some actual use. He smiled and began eapidly jogging back and forth, hoisting blocks like a pikmin (or maybe even chibi-robo) and hustling back to the wall quickly filling out the mural before standing back to admire his handiwork. A huge grin on his face, he wiped some of the dust and sweat from his vrow with his shirt sleeve. "So whats next? Do I get to recite the sith code and blast something with lightning? Or is there going to be a glorious group of goddesses awaiting a hero's calming touch to wake from their slumber before bestowing upon him three wishes?" His mood had certainly lightened up in regards to the earlier incidents, his nature only sounding happier and more jovial, but his breathing hard and tired. "Anyway, shall we venture in deeper? This dungeon has begun to make me rather happy!"

Noctis was actually quite looking forward to having his own mentee. The prospect of finally being able to pass on some form of his knowledge really made him feel like he had grown out of the dark hole he used to sit in, and had finally become one with this world. So, naturally, he had put up a sign earlier today on a wall, hoping someone would take notice of it. He sat in an outdoor patio of a restaurant just off of the main square, enjoying himself a nice cup of coffee to help start off the day as he kept his eye out for his new protege. As he sipped upon it, he noticed a half alv wandering about towards the middle of the square at the fountain seeming to look about for someone. He supposed that this might just be the fish who bit the bait. Finishing up the last of his coffee, and placing a few gold on the table to tip the waitress and cover his bill, he seized up his hat and made his way over to the youth. He approached, attempting not to startle the samurai with his ghastly appearance. He was, after all, dressed today in his black pinstripe suit and fedora, and had been told by friends and guildmates before that it, combined with his already freakish appearance, made him look like some sort of raid boss. A smile stretched across his stitched-up lips, his tall, thin form going into a sort of half-bow as he greeted the beginner. "My name is Noctis Corvo. I take it you have come seeking my mentorship?" He finished with another smile towards the boy. Noctis himself was rather tall and terrifying anyway to most who didn't know him, and he liked to try and beset that as quickly as possible for those new to him and his class. looking through the interface, he prodded around the boy's profile, glancing at his stats and trying to formulate what the best plan of action would be. "Lets see here..." he mumbled. "Samurai...half-alv...blacksmith...Pathfinder...Oh! You're a member of Vylbrand I see! I'm a member of Noihara, our guilds have an allegiance, so this could be fun!" he paused for a minute and thought on his statement, as though remembering a repugnant memory. "...On second thought, don't tell Bailin, we don't always get along the best." Closing out of the interface, he clapped his hands together and gave them a small rub. "Well, time to get you up to speed!" Tags: tzuf23

The ping didn't really startle him as much as it probably could have. Kain had long since gotten used to the strange telepathic dings and beeps of the interface, and responded fairly tamely to the sudden ping and voice of Dumah and the rest talking over party chat. He put his hand up to listen as they snuck past the remainder of the slimes. It seemed to just for the most part be a talk over how this would keep them in contact while they snuck around yada yada yada. It wasn't a whole lot of new material, but he listened in anyhow as they ventured forward. It was the next room that caught his eye. He visibly perked up, a sparkle in his eye as he gazed about the massive room. He hadn't seen one of these in forever, and boy did he strangely miss them. A massive room-wide block puzzle. A simple cypher of jumping and pushing, but a cypher puzzle nonetheless! Kain was giddy, running about the room, inspecting each block and beginning to sketch out their locations and moving patterns. It was fairly extensive, but nothing too complicated. They could afford to make a few wrong pushes and everything could quite simply be reset if it all came down to it.
Trying to contain himself, he brought back his sketches and began drawing the rooms layout in mythic script as he began trying to plot out what goes where, all encompassed within his own little happy puzzle world.

The man smiled at the group, the miasma leaking further from him. Whether it was malicious or just simply a fact of his form was known only to him. They didn't seem like they were all too prepared to be out here quite honestly, many seeming rather nervous or unsure. The man simply smiled wider at this thought. The first one, the monk, seemed to be turning down the offer of spiders, but at the mention of the word the heretic merely interrupted him, conjuring up an illusory cup and kettle before spouting out "Spiders it is then!" and began pouring him a brimming full glass of spiders that began to overflow with the creepy crawlies. The swashbuckler definitely had a sense of humor though, acknowledging the heretic's reference and that made him grin wider. with a flick of his wrist the spiders all disappeared back into a cloud of mist as he swirled through the black cloud over to the man. With a cheeky grin on his face he addressed the swashyswashy. "Or maybe you are and we're all in a dream? did you check the top?" The bard's question on the other hand caught him off guard. A Battle Bunny? What kind of black magic was he speaking of? "Even my powers don't extend that far. Or maybe they do? It's so hard to find willing test subjects nowadays, Music Man!" He swirled about the group, drunk on his own dark powers. It was then that a lonley level one slime creeped its way up into the party, drawn by the heretic's blatant and unrestrained use of magic. coming close, it seemed only curious as to the nature of the dark mass, wobbling around inquisitively before, with a lightning quick streak, a sudden black mass seemed to instantly strike out from within the confines of the heretic's cloak. As the slime burst into its corresponding bubbles, a long, jagged appendage glowing a dark crimson as it began to turn back to its darker color scheme traced its way languidly back into the heretic's cloak. A look of sick disdain sat upon his face as he stared in the direction of where the slime once stood, his corruption taking a bit of a boost. "I do so hate worthless scum." The figure stood, basking in the glow of the moonlight of the night and enjoying the cool air waft across his face. A small slime took notice and began approaching him curiously from behind, the massive source of magic drawing it near. Without a moments hesitation, a black formless mass shot out of the man's cloak and pierced the slime, obliterating it quickly into the bubbles that signified its death. The mass retreated quickly back within the confines of the cloak and he took a long draw of the cool night air. It was then that he noticed the figures approaching from the town. He supposed he had been making quite a fuss out here, hunting down monsters and testing the limits of his new powers, and it seemed only logical that the neighbors would have called in a noise complaint on him to spoil his little party. Upon closer inspection however, the group seemed to have just been coming from a party themselves, the smell of ash and liquor riding the delicate breeze up to even his own position. The few hadn't noticed him yet though, not in a normal sense. He could definitely tell they sensed the lingering corruption however, as many of them seemed to be readying their weapons as though he were some sort of lesser mob. How utterly foul of them, to greet a guest of his magnitude with arms and foul intent. He after all had no such manners as to attack people of the land, much less Adventurers, his own kind. Then again, he was in an experimenting mood, and a rather jovial one at that, so he figured he might as well go and greet his guests. His figure glided down the hills and rocks, almost silently and without any perceived effort on his own part, his body moving with an almost unnatural grace. He approached the three, emerging from the dark, a massive grin upon his face, his form distorted by his corruption. "And to what pleasure do I owe the company, gentlemen? Surely you haven't come to tell little old me to quiet down?" His movements were almost as if he were floating as he drifted about the small party. He dove between the party members, acting out and over the top with each of his statements. He grasped at the monk's coat, falling into his arms and a look of sadness upon his face as the miasma melded about him to form the shape of vague old west clothes, a badly over exaggerated southern accent issuing from his lips. "Don' tell me Ol' Yeller's dead Pa! I won't be able ta take it!" Twirling from the monk he fell into the arms of the swashbuckler, the miasma changing around him to form a sort of fake feather boa as he exclaimed in a rather feminine accent, "Hold me Leo!" Again, leaving the arms of the swashbuckler to lean against the bard, the miasma forming the shape of a cigar in his mouth, his pinstripe suit once again adorning his frame, and a ghostly looking tommy gun in one hand, a bad 80's gangster accent issuing forth this time. "Whatrya doin' im my neck of the woods here, see? You come to take my money? my Drugs? My girl? My horse? my SPIDERS?" The shapes created by the miasma once again fluttered out of existence as he waved his hands, once again returning to just him in his suit, the massive grin upon his face. Noctis was a little worried walking at point. He thought he would be fine, but still, he couldnt help but have a chill run down his spine as they ventured deeper and deeper into the ruins. It wasn't that he was afraid of the dark, he was actually fine with that, but the feeling of being exposed to whatever it was they would run into bothered him. What made it worse was how long it had been without another encounter, the blackened hallways stretching on without end. Coming to a crossway, the group decided to follow the right wall rule. Kane had no objections, and went along without a word. The glow of Dumah's magic orb gave him enough light to keep the map updated by, so he had little to say anyway as he focused on scribbling in his little notes and chicken-scratch drawings of the curving paths.
It was the sound of the slimes echoing through the hallway that made him finally snap back to reality. He pressed himself along the wall as soon as dumah's light went out, waiting as the sloshing of the goo came, paused and passed on in their slow creeping fashion. As the wet slapping of goo faded back off into the distance, he scratched down another note to be weary of a group of patrolling slimes in this hallway.

The night was beautiful out in Sarum. The moon and stars were out in their full splendor upon the fields, lighting the shadows in a beautiful celestial glow. It was the strange form of the man, up upon the hillside that broke the natural splendor of the night. His twisted form reached long and lanky, his stance seeming to hold at almost insane angles with an almost unnatural grace upon it. His once beautiful pinstripe suit, warped by the very corruption that sat within and about his thin, patchwork frame. A smile sat upon his lips, stretching wider than what should have been possible, almost ear to ear, his teeth seeming to come to strange sharp points. The miasma flowed behind his eyes, the whites replaced with an abysmal black, the irises a pulsating purple energy. A small violet flame burned around his rightmost eye as the excess darkness leaked out. He stood, overlooking the magnificent plain, spinning his hat in his hand, an unknown tune upon his mind.
Any with access to the interface would realize who he was as they triggered his profile, his stats showing up upon the moonlight. They would read: Noctis Corvo, Heretic. Corruption level: Stage Five, Two Hundred Points.
Status effects: Gluttonous Haze Miasma Appendage
Morphogenesis Traits: Regenerator Cursed Palm Dark Conquest Vampire Form Darkness Eternal
He stood overlooking the landscape, the town off in the distance, not a single monster for miles after his little hunt on the plains, the taint of miasma would still be lingering among the area.

As that target deals damage to an enemy, the mist absorbs the Anima that was spilled by the blow and feeds it into the target's body to heal them a small amount. This spell, combined with Tainted Charity, allows the Heretic to take a slightly more support-oriented playstyle. However, keep in mind that the presence of the black aura has been linked to mood swings and aggressive among those affected by it. Gluttonous Haze has a duration of 10 seconds, a 4 second cast time, and a 20 second cooldown. While a target is affected by this skill, their Mind resistance is reduced by 1 stage. Parry Tier I Skill A hard parry that is delivered to reduce the force of an incoming attack. It is a system-assisted action that controls the body in the face of an oncoming attack, designed to reduce the damage from an attack as much as possible. Thus, while anyone can parry an attack given the right timing and momentum and achieve mixed results, activating this skill is probably one of the safest defenses against such an attack. Allowing the system free reign of one's own actions, however, may perhaps prove somewhat difficult in terms of flexibility. Despite that, this skill is one of the most basic and effective defensive techniques of the Warrior classes. Parry has an animation time of 1 second and a cooldown of 5 seconds. This cooldown is doubled to 10 seconds if used by any other class. Humoral Stigma Tier I Skill The Heretic infuses an open wound with Miasma. As a natural antagonist to Anima, the energy of life, the Miasma lingers around the wound and prevents it from healing naturally. As such, this is a bleeding debuff curse that causes open wounds to continuously bleed. The target loses HP over time as long as their HP is less than full, or after 2 minutes have passed. The HP loss is fairly little but it adds up over time, much like a poison effect would. If the wounds should somehow be fully healed and HP reaches 100%, however, the curse is expelled. This skill has a casting time of 2 seconds and a cooldown of 10 seconds. A target currently affected by this skill's effect is treated as though their Corruption was increased by 3. Exocytosis Tier II Skill Where Heretics possess the power to corrupt, they can also use that power to cleanse at the cost of burdening another with corruption. The Heretic expels some of the Miasma from an infected being within 5 meters and directs the displaced element into a new target. Legend speaks of an underground order of Heretics working underground alongside the Wardens who use this skill as a means of experimentation on the effects of Miasma corruption. The amount of concentration necessary to extract Miasma makes this skill somewhat difficult to use in the heat of battle. The target's Corruption points are decreased by an amount from 1-10, chosen by the Heretic. The same amount is added to another target within 5 meters of the Heretic. If there are no other valid targets, the Heretic is considered the recipient. The Heretic may target themselves with this skill. This skill has a casting time of 3 seconds and a cooldown of 10 seconds. Miasma Appendage Tier II Skill Toggle skill. Heretics that intentionally corrupt their own body in order to gain power are feared throughout the land. Upon reaching Stage 1 Corruption at any time, the Heretic grows an appendage from their back that looks blue-black in an idle stance and turning bright red when it is used to attack. This appendage works like a functional limb, except that it cannot equip any weapons. It is commonly found in the form of a tail or tentacle, although higher stages of Corruption can result in more elaborate transformations such as a single nonfunctional black wing. It should be known that the sight of this appendage is blatant evidence of Corruption, causing possible hostility if used in public. The appendage deals blunt physical damage and it is considered to have a weapon level equal to 10 x the user's Corruption Stage. The maximum length of the appendage is equal to 2 x the user's Corruption Stage in meters. Vessel of Chaos Tier II Skill Miasma reacts to the negative emotions surrounding the user's heart, amplifying their emotions and granting them with power. While many Heretics go mad long before they reach this level of power, some Heretics are able to tap into its potential and transform the Miasma to their own bidding. This skill causes the Miasma to shroud itself around the Heretic's body and materialize into a piece of equipment of their choosing. The Heretic may transform their own weapon or armor into a Miasma Arms when this skill is activated. Because the new equipment generated is formed from the Miasma, it is always considered to be compatible equipment even if the Heretic may not normally be able to wield it. It's said that the Abyss Dragon Knight, a man fed up by unjust discrimination by the Wardens, had used this skill to create a dark parody of the Warden's Armor. A Miasma Arms equipment formed by this skill has its item level raised to the Heretic's main class level. A Miasma Arms weapon formed by this skill deals apparent damage of 1 level higher for every 10 points of Corruption possessed by the user (max: 10 levels). A Miasma Arms armor formed by this skill has an apparent defense of 1 level higher for every 10 points of Corruption possessed by the user (max: 10 levels). This skill has a casting time of 3 seconds, a duration of 2 minutes, and a cooldown of 5 minutes. Only one Miasma Arms weapon may be formed at a time by the user.

Kain's head began to clear as the last bits of his corruption seeped out. The conversation about the effects of miasma was a heavy one, he wouldn't deny that. But his own experiences with it? Looking back, that was a rather personal question and he could have handled it with a bit more tact probably. He sure as hell didn't sugar coat anything though, which was probably for the better. As non-heretics and non-wardens, the rest of the party had little to no methods of dealing with corruption outside of waiting for its effects to wear off over time, which was a long and brutal process. He had scared the rest by not only showing them himself in his low corruption state, but he even revealed how he once fell into stage five corruption. That was no joking matter for him, and it was actually quite personal, as he didn't remember much of it, but he did remember destroying a massive boss level monster almost single-handedly. He sat off, scribbling on the map and updating his journal, taking a moment to even flip back through some of the previous entries. He found his catalog of events from that day, mainly poking about ruins. He found the part where he remembered beginning to fight the giant crab bafore blacking out less than halfway through the battle. He saw his record of strange notes and almost ramblings before recording how he woke up the next day fine. It was the notes in that journal though that freaked him out. They were lyrical, almost songlike, and went on and on about freedom and destruction. Nothing made him more scared of his own power. "Hey Noctis, why do we bother with the Miasma?" "You already know my beliefs on it. It is a dark magic, one of evil. But the powers it grants us are immeasurable. The wrong power in the right hands can be a beautiful weapon against evil." "Yeah, I know you see it as our cross to bear, but why did you get into it in the first place? You see the way people react to it? what made you stay with it?" There was silence in Kain's head as the Sage of Shadow remained quiet. Kain's question had struck a nerve, and a rather personal one at that. Finally after a few minutes, he responded. "I didn't have a choice. You created me, you should know that." "I only dictated your end path. The details of the journey there are for the most part unknown to me." "I was forced into it, taken in as an orphan by The Order. They are the ones who initially fused my being with the power of Miasma. I didn't have a choice in the matter." They were quiet for a while after this, both reflecting on the way things have played out. Had Kain known this would be his world, he might have rethought his plans to make a heretic, and had he known he would have set up Noctis for such a terrible life, he definitely would have rethought writing the backstory in the first place. The miasma was no joking matter in this real world. It wasn't some convenient story piece that just allowed for a different kind of sorcerer character. This was a real thing with consequences, and Kain had to now live with them. Finishing up the map and journal updates, he walked back over to join the group. Dumah brought up the plan. Dumah, Kat and Kain would take a front line and each try and aggro two slimes each, moving in something akin to a four-man wedge formation. Kain saw no problem with it, as he could easily handle two slimes at a time, and spellwalking would allow him at least a bit of movement as he charged his spells. Pulling out his own quill and using his own Mystic Script, Kain spoke up his own thoughts on the plan. "I should probably take point. While I may not have the most HP, I can destroy them pretty quickly, so I can help you both out that way if we accidentally get too many slimes at once." He wrote "Noc" over the frontmost pebble. "That, and this way I can minimize any accidental friendly fire as most of my shots will be going straight ahead." To accent his point he drew a small cone forward from his pebble. "If I stand anywhere else, I could accidentally hit someone again. Normally I'd vote to throw myself into stage one corruption and spend my morphogenesis on Pureness of Heart so i could run as an Off-Healer, but i already spent my stage one and two traits for it on Dark Influence and Vampire Form. I don't quite know how it works yet, but even if I drain m corruption and go again to Stage One and Two, those two talents will remain. The only way it would work now is if I hit Stage Three, which I plan to avoid at all costs as I really want to avoid giving you guys any corruption, and I don't quite have access to the Exocytosis skill yet." Saying his peace he left the rest up to the party to decide and debate before putting back in his opinion. Notes: Finally posted Words: 887 Tags: @dumah @bornfromvelvet @kurosan

Kain was glad that their leader proved to be as prepared as he had seemed. The campfire quickly restored the little gap he had been missing from his mana bar, and he sat down crosslegged, and began to meditate on his current situation.
"I don't know what I should do Noctis. Theyre terrified of me. I've never even seen such...distaste before."
"It's not your fault. The miasma is a difficult mistress. She takes and she gives, but she rarely pleases."
"I know what you mean. I just fear my state. I fear going deeper. I dont want to feel that way again."
"Only those who were never human to begin with don't Kain. Take solace in your fear. It means you are still whole."
He contemplated on these thoughts when he heard the assassin speak up, asking him about how the effects of the corruption. He perked up a bit, the monotone voice letting out a bit as he had activated Black Operon and was actively draining his levels of corruption, the vampire form fading and colour beginning to return to his skin.
"Thats an interesting question actually, and it would probably be best for me to explain for you the stages and effects of corruption before I tell you my own personal feelings.
"For starters, you can generally survive a slow miasma poisoning for a while. It doesnt take too well to people unless a caster is specifically assailing you with it or you bring it upon yourself. Stage one occurs once youve accumulated ten points of corruption, and is rather minor. the only real indication you will have will be headaches, maybe some nausea, maybe some shortness of breath or fatigue.
"Stage two occurs after accumulating thirty points of corruption, and is when the miasma begins to become more concentrated and focused throughout your body. Your skin will begin to turn pale, your fingernails will crack, you will begin to appear sickly. The mental fog increases as well. It becomes hard to think, to form coherent sentences or thoughts of your own. At this point, any further stages begin to have consequences.
"At Stage Three Corruption, which occurs after accumulating any higher than Fifty points of corruption, it becomes infectious. People around you begin to slowly become corrupted by your pressence, one point at a time. You begin to have dellusions and hallucinations, you begin to loose your grasp on reality. Your eyes become white and clouded, your skin scared and/or wrinkled.
"You reach stage four at seventy-six points of corruption. At this point, your body will choose one of two paths. You will either begin to appear extremely sickly and weak, or extremely powerful and litch-like. You become wary of the light. The pounding in your head becomes all you can thing about. You loose your grasp on the world.
"What I remember of the only time I hit stage Five was dreamlike, and I know of the traits only through stories. Your body becomes a twisted inhuman avatar for the full might of the miasma, your corruption exceeding one hundred. You cant even tell the wielder is human anymore wether from their attitude, appearance or actions. It is from this point I can tell you what it feels like to corrupt yourself for power."
He turned to the assassin, his eyes locking with him. He spoke in full seriousness, not just from one lifetime but two. Noctis and Kain both synched up in this one moment.
"It feels like you are slowly drowning, like your body is slowly being ripped from your control. You are being dragged away and chained down by a thousand black hands, stuck in the thickest oil. Your flesh feels foreign, and terror is the only thing you fight against to regain some sort of control. But it no longer lies in your hands."
After a couple seconds of silence he pulled out his map and walked a bit away from the group but still within eyesight.
"Now if you'll excuse me, I have a map and a journal to update."

He didn't mean to hit Dumah. Part of him felt bad for it, but another part felt like it was unavoidable. He walked over to the rest of them as the last bits of the slime vanished into the immaterium, his body seeming to cross the stones at more of a ghastly glide than steps. "I apologize for the friendly fire Dumah, I was just trying to make sure the abomination stayed down." His gaze crossed over the rest of the party, possibly and unconciously looking as though he were looking down on them like an apex predator would an ant. He could tell, whether they showed it or not, there was at least some latent fear of him in the back of their eyes.
"I also apologize for taking this...form. I did not mean to cause you alarm, and to be quite honest i'm glad that this proved enough. This is barely the beginning stages of corruption. I could have and still can go further, but the results, while powerful, could prove to be quite...jarring." his words, while seemingly monotone and without emotion still heald behind them, deep within him, his usual caring demeanor. "If we're lucky, the rest of the enemies will go down with less of a fight and I could drain some of my corruption. If they get any tougher though, I may have to take more drastic measures."
The assassin's care towards his mana was a slight shock to Kain, with his eyes giving a small questioning light as he gazed at his own mana bar. He had barely even scratched his bar being still more than 75% full on it. He guessed thats what min/maxing does in the end, and expressed little concern for his own well being.
"While it would be wise for us to rest, you shouldnt go wandering off in here alone. That first monster alone was too tough for most of you to solo, and it makes me fearful of what other traps and creatures lie within. The entry password seems to be only proving more ominous and foreboding by the second."
