A Change in the Wind

Hello. Good morning, good afternoon, and good evening. I am Azoth, your new Game Master, or at least one of the new ones who may be stepping up to the plate here.

If you are reading this at this moment, then you know the state of affairs around here and you're probably gritting your teeth, hoping the worst doesn't come. There are no active mods, activity has dwindled to almost null, and Log Horizon is losing taste (if it hasn't already). Things have become quite stale and from my experience here, and a few other places, it didn't have to be this way. However, it is what it is. We can either cry and whine that things suck or we can get better. That's why I am here. I'm going to do my best to bring the wind back to this site, at the expense of some things, and I hope you all are willing to bare with me.

A new patch is coming that will be changing the system of the site in its entirety and I will be implementing things by the piece. New rules and new policies will be put in place to simplify things and make stuff more efficient without hurting what is already in place. And if that scares you, don't let it. Things will operate as usual but there are a lot of things here that pained me as a player and as a person who considered being a mod a short while back.

I will be putting up polls for some items to ask for feedback but for the big stuff, I will be overhauling and requesting feedback after the change has been made. In my experience, democracy has only got so far before people have burned out. My goal here is to rejuvinate the site as best as possible quickly. I won't be perfect and I won't always be right, but my Inbox is open, always. If you have any concerns, complaints, or anything else; Inbox me. I don't care if you curse me out or if you just want to say something isn't to your liking. Feedback is feedback, and I want all of it. I will be making adjustments on the fly but I will be very, very sure to keep everyone in the loop.

The first order of business for me is to get a tally. I want to know who's still here and who isn't. If you are an active player, post below with character. If you have multiples, post with your main character. I want to know who is here, which characters are active, what levels they are, and their classes. This will give me an idea of what I'm working with at the moment and how I should generate events. I'm not going to throw a raid into the site when there's only five characters with no healers. If you have multiple subclasses, input their names and levels.

I understand that this may be a concern, and that's fine. I plan on keeping to the Log Horizon theme as a foundation and will be following the ideas presented in the series, but with some personal twists to keep some sparks and nudge interest. This is a Log Horizon Roleplay, not a Roleplay with Log Horizon elements so expect to continue RPing as though you are inside of the Log Horizon game.

Ok Azoth, i have two questions. First, story wise, are you rebooting the world back to just after the event happened or continuing what has already transpired (aka new story or select continue from what the older players/characters have done)? and second is can we modify our characters that we are porting over? Like certain bio changes or tweaks to the character?
